Excellent friends to enemies love story. Percy and Cal were so much fun and I loved seeing their relationship develop.

The whole family vibe of the cul-de-sac was also wonderful. I hope to live in a neighourhood like that in the future.

This series is a delight! Anyta Sunday writes beautifully flawed characters. The slow burn she is known for us almost always present.

Percy's dear Aunt Abby had died about six months ago, she left him her home--the home where he was raised after his parents made no secret of wanting him gone when he came out in his teens. It's a bit run-down, but still got great bones and a close-knit cul-de-sac community of neighbors who keep tabs on everyone, plan fun get-togethers, and lend a hand when needed. They were among the chief mourners at Abby's wake, and though Percy knows they truly care for him too, he wants to sell the house and move away. He's recently broken up with another boyfriend--who thinks he's not family material--and he just wants to start over.

But, Callaghan Glover, neighbor and long-time nemesis is becoming a constant presence in his life. Cal should be at school, finishing his masters in paleontology, but he took a break and came home to help care for his pregnant mother and two younger sisters now that his dad had an existential crisis and moved out. Percy has always harbored a secret crush on Cal, but he knows it's pointless, because Cal's straight. Still, both of these guys need a solid friend, and their verbal sparring moves from waspish to bantering, confusing Percy more. Add to this, the cul-de-sac community is playing a "Sherlock Gnomes" game where they secretly leave treats or take on chores for their fellow Gnomers--all while trying to determine which neighbor is operating under which Gnome name. And Cal's mother makes Percy a standing invitation to share their dinners so he doesn't have to eat alone.

The community that Percy feels, even as he's sorely missing his aunt, gives him the strength to reach out for what he wants--to build a lasting relationship. It takes a LOOOONG time, but Percy realizes that one of the Gnomes he's been chatting with (and pouring out his soul a bit to) isn't the person he expected, and that Cal may have been tipped off about Percy's attraction. Percy is, meanwhile, building stronger roots of his own, developing a clientele of folks in their community for his massage therapist gig. Including Cal who's hurting his back entertaining his young sister with dinosaur antics. I liked how Percy and Cal took things slow, it's a tricky business going from enemies to friends to lovers. Cal's own need, as a Virgo and a demipansexual, is to build a strong emotional connection before he can get physical, adds to that slow burn. Meanwhile, Percy's hide-behind-the-sarcasm Scorpio ways makes getting close a challenge. Their love may not have been written in the stars, but it certainly burned bright enough to make Percy recognize his place in life was the one he tried to run from.

Fun and creative, I enjoyed this one.

Oh my, this book was the cutest thing ever! I loved the characters, their characterization and their banters. They are just so sweet, so cute and so adorable!
I have no doubt about this series, I have started with the second one (bad bookworm, no cookies!) but I would read the first one and all the sequels because I fell in love with this one. The story is captivating and with a good rhythm to it, but the best things are the characters. I would keep this series for when I would be in need of something heartwarming and fun, because it's the right series to go!

The banter!. The chemistry! The way the characters in this series grab me is too much. Cal and Percy were really fun to follow in this. Any time the two are on the page together you can go from vaguely okay moment to one that soarsThey are just really cute together and I guess I am a bit of a sucker for enemies to friends to lovers and there is a bit of that here.

. One of the two mains is demisexual too which is awesome. I absolutely love any bit of representation I can get for anything on the ace spectrum. It's great.

I really loved Cal. He is there for his family when they need him even if it puts his other goals on hold. He is witty. He has the sexy nerd thing going for him and I'm a sucker for that honestly.

I loved the background. The neighborhood. The way these neighbors care and look out for each other. Cal's family. Loved seeing the dynamics there. Loved seeing the love and caring. There was a hominess to the book and I feel like it came from that.

Percy is dealing with grief and I do think the plotline with his cousin threw me off at times. I didn't really know what to feel there. You really see how much Percy valued his relationship with his Aunt. Not surprising with how she supported him when his own parents wouldn't. It's hard to live in a house that has so many memories of someone you have lost which is why Percy intends to sell the house as soon as he can.

I almost wish this was delved into more at certain points. I always think the exploration of grief is important for a story and a character. We really get to see Percy go on a journey with Cal's help through this book to get where he is by the end.

Overall loved it. It brought me back to the Leo Loves Aries feels I had. May have even liked this more even though the couple takes a longer time to get together. Sometimes I do like a slow burn I guess.

Leo Loves Aries Review (#1) ~ Gemini Keeps Capricorn Review (#3)

I love how Anyta writes characters – I fall in love with them the second they appear on a page or open their mouth – and I love it when I fall in love with the character within the first chapter. It allows the reader to root for the character from the get-go. Not that rooting for the character/loving the character in the middle of the book or near the end is anything less than loving the character from the beginning, but you get what I mean, right? Yes, no, carry on? Okay.

The plot sounds simple – Percy Freedman returns to his aunt’s house to sell it (after she passes away) but sees his ‘nemesis’, (like extreme extraness, tell me more tell me more) Callaghan Glover, (I mean we all know why the enemies-to-lovers trope exists and I am here for all of it – it exists because the characters don’t actually hate each other, they’re just ‘nemeses’ – please note the quotation marks) and because his aunt used to live in a cul-de-sac where the neighbours are super friendly, the result is a game that I don’t fully understand? Like do they just allow their neighbours to go into each other’s houses?

I think I loved Cal more than I loved Percy (Cal likes dinosaurs, I like dinosaurs – it just makes sense). Anyta also writes characters who are family-orientated – they have loving relationships with their families and I love this!

P.S. I thought what’s really funny is that even though Percy claims Cal is his nemesis, Cal really isn’t? So, it’s even funnier because Percy’s trying to maintain the fact that he dislikes Cal when it’s actually him (Percy) just trying not to give into his insane crush on Cal – which just makes it so much better.

The book was a cute and easy read. Although it lost me in a few places due to the slow burn nature of the plot it was a good mindless read that I enjoyed, and readers of this genre would likely enjoy.

After his aunt passes away, Percy Friedman moves into her home. Even though she left it to him, Percy is intent on selling it not only because it makes him miss his aunt so much, but it is also located in the same cul-de-sac as his childhood nemesis, Callagahan Glover. But, As Percy settles back into the tight-knit community and gets to know Callagahan all over again, he wonders if running away is the best plan.

I enjoyed this "enemies" to lovers story. There is no real malice between Percy and Cal so when their relationship forms, it feels real and relatable. Their sarcastic barbs are funny, the main leads are charming, and even the side characters have plenty of personality without derailing the main focus. It's a nearly perfect bit of fluff but since there's no closure regarding Percy's relative, Frank, I felt as if that bit was incomplete. Other than that, a great sweet and sexy romance. 3.9 out of 5.

This was sweet and I really enjoyed the slow burn aspect.
I could have used a little more detail sometimes - often events happened that were just totally glossed over in the next sentence and parts felt a little choppy. I will definitely try more books by this author, though.

Well now, weren't Percy and Cal just the cutest?! Scorpio Hates Virgo was a humorous and (surprisingly) sexy read! Not always easy to combine those two elements, but Anyta Sunday does a fantastic job of establishing a flirtatious friendship/nemesis that rolls it's way into a romance to believe in!

I was a HUGE fan of the first book in the "Signs of Love" series, Leo loves Aries, and the series just continues to impress and delight me!

I received a free copy through Netgalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

I loved the first book in this series and I've been eager to pick up book 2. But at the same time I was a bit hesitant to start it because I was afraid it wouldn't be as good as book 1 and it sounded like this would be an enemies to lovers book, which is a trope I am not a big fan of. It turns out the enemies to lovers trope was more a friends to lovers which totally worked for me. It wasn't as good as book 1, but that's okay.

Scorpio Hates Virgo follows the story of Percy who is a Scorpio and has a crush on his neighbor Cal, who is a Virgo. They pretend to hate each other and say they're nemesis, but they mostly have a lot of back and forth banter or verbal sparring as they call it. They get on each other nerves and have witty retorts and slowly they realize they don't hate each other at all and maybe they never did.

It's a very slow burn romance, with more of a friend to lovers trope than enemies to lovers. I really liked reading about these two, their back and forth banter was great to read about. And these little hints they might like one another that slowly build up throughout the book are awesome. The start of the book felt a bit slow and I couldn't fully get into it at first, but once I did I had trouble putting it down.

And while I really enjoyed this book there was that slight niggle that it wasn't as good as book 1. In some sense it's the exact same type of book, a good slow burn romance with lots of banter and friends who slowly grow into more. But at the same time it also was very different. And while I really liked the romance, I didn't love it as much as the romance in book 1. And as loved book 1 so much I couldn't help but compare the two books a bit. But it definitely is a great sequel and the author really writes great slow burn romances. And I am eager to read book 3.

This book can easily be read as a standalone. There is a small cameo appearance of the couple from book 1, but it's only a small scene and a phone call. It was a fun touch for those who have read book 1. The mother of one of the main characters in book 1 is a side character in this one. Which I thought was a fun addition and is also the reason how the whole horoscope thing gets added in these books. As she sends her son and daughter the horoscope in book 1 and in this book she sends their neighbors their horoscope.

One thing that this book had and the first book didn't was a great setting. The story focuses around a cul-de-sac and the neighbors that live there and it was like a mini small town, which was awesome. They are such a tight knit group and I loved reading about that. I just wished there had been more of it as I kept forgetting who was who from the neighbors and as much as I got the whole community feel I wouldn't have minded to feel it a bit more and get a better insight in the side characters personalities

I thought both Percy and Cal were great characters to read about. We only get the story from Percy's point of view, but get to know Cal quite well too as he's the love interest. Percy is still grieving as his Aunt just died and now he inherited her house and plans to sell it. Percy has been hurt before and feels like everyone he cares about leaves him. And I felt so bad for him at times and wished he would get someone that cared for him and wouldn't let go and it's so awesome when he finds that person in cal. I also liked how helpful and caring Percy was, with massaging (he's a masseur) and helping other characters. He seemed a genuinely nice person.

Cal made for a great love interest with how he was there for Percy and the things he did for him that we only later realize and even the lies he tells so he can connect more with Percy. I liked his dinosaur obsession and love for dictionaries, although I wouldn't have minded to see this come into play a bit more. While Percy is gay, for a long time we're not 100% sure that Cal is as well or what exactly his sexual orientation is, until the end.

I have to admit I didn't really care for the whole house plot line. Percy inherits his aunts house and plans to sell it, but others try and convince him to stay. I've read so many books that do this and I just knew by the end he would keep the house and I dislike having to go through the drama of whether he will sell it or not. And frankly in this book I would've liked more of Percy's thought process about the house as I felt like now it was kept a bit of a mystery what he was thinking and I didn't really care for that and had rather understood his doubts and emotions.

That's actually another small complaint I had. It felt there were so many great topics addressed in this book, that were only touched upon. Percy's grief, his fear of people leaving him, Cal's struggle with his sexuality, Cal's dad that left, Ellie who was a bit down, the cul-de-sac neighbors, Percy's cousin Frank, Cal's masters, Cal's dinosaur obsession and I am sure I am forgetting some things. Anyway there was a bunch of emotional issues and potential story lines that I would've liked to see explored a bit more. It feels like they get touched upon, but not explored as much as I would've liked. The book stays pretty light hearted and I wouldn't have minded if it got a bit more emotional at times. There's one or two scenes were Percy really bares his heart and there were great and I would've liked a bit more of that.

To summarize: Scorpio Hates Virgo is a great slow burn romance and I loved seeing it all play out. It has more of a friends who pretend to hate each other to lovers trope than a real enemies to lovers trope. I liked both Percy and Cal and their romance was great to read about. I liked seeing them slowly grow closer and closer. The romance has only a little heat toward the end, but is mostly a very sweet romance. These two were great together and I enjoyed seeing them figure it all out. I did miss something in this book that the first book did have and I am not entirely sure what it was. There were a few side plot lines and some issues that I would've liked to see explored a bit more. I liked the tight community of neighbors who live on the cul-de-sac where Cal and Percy lived. I didn't really care for the house plot line. It was a very addictive read that I had trouble putting down once I got past the first few chapters. There was a small way it tied in with the first book and a cameo appearance of the first books couple and the other of the main character in the first book is a side character here too. Which was a nice touch, but I think it also works perfect as standalone. I really like how this author writes slow burn romances and I hope to pick up book 3 soon.

I start to believe that Anyta Sunday is one of those author you cant go wrong with. her second book in the signs of love trilogy is just as fantastic as the first one and I really appreciated that it was loosely linked and my heart was not ready to let go of Theo, but I got a super cute nerd with a Weasley like cozy family and a boy who is extremely angsty and deals with grief and loneliness. I really loved the fact that the author gave both main an occupation and actually displayed a lot of its practice and it shows that she has done a good job of research on the subjects. Its one of those books that you can just devour in one go and can't put it down because you have to know what will have to the babies. YOU. JUST. HAVE. TO. KNOW. naturally 5/5 stars and cant wait to get the opportunity to read the third book.

I absolutely loved Leo Loves Aries, so I had high hopes for 'Scorpio Hates Virgo'. While book #2 wasn't an automatic favourite like book #1, it still delivered an incredibly sweet romances and two complex characters.

My heart hurt for Percy from the start. He was so clearly broken by his aunt's death, but he just couldn't let himself break down, especially not in front of his neighbours. He was hurting, and while that made him a bit prickly at times, it didn't take me long to begin rooting for him.

In particular, Percy doesn't want to look weak in front of nemesis-but-not-a-actually-nemesis, Cal Glover. Cal and Percy have been mentally sparring for years. It may seem like they can't stand each other, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

The truth is that Percy and Cal have been slowly falling for each since their first unfortunate meeting as teens. But both of them are too stubborn to do anything about it.

Their relationship as the book progresses is a slow dance, with both of them circling each other, sometimes leaning in and sometimes moving back. Percy, grieving and scared of being left behind again, doesn't make things easy.

But these two just fit together so perfectly. They may not admit it, but they're each other's best friends. Cal and Percy make each other happy, and the two understand what makes the other tick.

It takes a long time and a lot of hard work for the two to finally give in and love each other the way they so clearly want to, but the journey's worth it. The two end up the stronger for it, and with a very well-deserved happy ever after.

4.5 Stars. I love Anyta's slow burn stories, but I wish these guys would have opened their eyes a BIT sooner. I would have also liked a bit more sexual exploration, but that's just me. All in all, this was another amazing story that kept me entertained from start to finish. I adored the banter and 'nemesizing', and the Gnomes just put the icing on the cupcake.

Scorpio Hates Virgo was an interesting and fun read. It follows childhood nemesis Percy and Callaghan. Percy comes to his late aunts house to clean it out and moving out. This has humor by way of sarcasm and jokes, friends to lovers romance, grief, games with neighbors, LGBTQ rep and romance, sexual content, that feel good slow burn romance, and dinosaurs? Yep. I adored this book and its characters.

4.3 stars!

***I received a free copy from the Publisher, through NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.***

Scorpio Hates Virgo tells the story of Percy Freedman...

When Percy was 17, he was thrown out of his house by his parents and went to live with his Aunt Abby. There, he met Aunt Abby’s cul-de-sac neighbors and, in the house next door, he met his soon-to-be nemesis, Callaghan Glover.

“Nemesis
noun / nem . e . sis

Definition of NEMESIS
: Perseus throwing verbal grenades at Callaghan to get a rise out of him .
: Callaghan throwing verbal grenades at Perseus to get a rise out out of him.
: A supposed enemy
: A frenemy”

Eventually, Percy grew up and moved in with Josh, his boyfriend.

BUT, Now, Josh has broken up with Percy... Just as Percy found out that his beloved Aunt Abby has passed away! ... and left her house to him.

Percy is all Alone! ... Percy knows he only has himself that he can count on... and the last thing he needs/wants to do is to get close to anyone, just to be abandoned or rejected all over again...

So Percy just deals... he deals with his grief and Loneliness the best way he can... with a good dose of sarcasm, a ‘I don’t really care’ attitude and a ritual of tiramisu desert every time someone he cares about leaves.

Forced to go back to Aunt Abby’s house (and to see his nemesis and all the cul-de-sac neighbors again), Percy knows he can’t stand to stay and live there. There’s too many memories, the house is so empty and, then, there’s Cal - the nemesis he can’t seem to Hate as much as he’d Like to!

So, to put Aunt Abby’s house for sell it is... Percy will just sell the house and buy another one for him (the furthest away from his nemesis as possible). That’s the plan!

But, as Percy starts spending time with his neighbors, and in particulary, with Cal - that for some reason gave up his Masters Degree in Paleontology (or Jurassic Park studies as Percy likes to call it :D) and is living back home - Percy just doesn’t seem to know if leaving is the best choice.

Join in a Sherlock Gnomes game that all the cul-de-sac neighbors are taking part in (that Percy is eager to play too, even though he knows he shouldn’t since he is leaving soon); lots of Sarcasm and Banters with Cal, that actually make Percy feel kinda of better... or worse (because he really should Hate the guy) ... and Percy will have Lots of Figuring out to do...

" “I miss Cal .”
Percy’s chest tightened. He stroked her bangs out of her eyes. “Want to know a secret? So do I .”
“Why is that a secret ?”
“Because I don’t want Cal to know .”
“ Why not ?”
“His smug smile for one .”
“What’s wrong with his smile ?”
“It does bad things to my knees. If he flashes that smile too much, I might fall.” "

(Percy talking to Hannah - Cal's baby sister)

Will Cal and Percy ever be more than nemesis?
Will Percy be able to sell Aunt Abby’s house? Or will Percy decide to stay?

Read the book to find out ;)

******************************
I absolutely loved this book <3

Why? ... Here's a list of reasons why I loved this book:

1. The sense of Family, of belonging to a Comunity/Neighborhood ... of being a part of something. I Really liked those cul-de-sac neighbors (and Leo's mom, from Leo Loves Aries is one of the neighbors!)

2. Cal and Percy are Meant to be – these guys are made for each other! I absolutely loved how Cal understood, supported and Loved Percy without Percy having to say or ask for anything... Cal just Gets Percy! And Cal and Percy together, just works!

3. Love heals – I adored how Cal just became Percy’s family ... how all the neighbors kinda of did, too! It was just Beautiful to see that all cul-de-sac neighbors cared so much about Percy... especially his ‘nemesis’ :)

4. The Games – Sherlock Gnomes and Zombie Apocalypse were games that the neighbors played together... and they were AWESOME! ... I was left wanting to take a part in it (can't I just move into this neighborhood, please?! :D)

5. The mystery of the Gnomes - Which Gnome is who????!!!!

6. The MC's from the previous book, Leo and Jamie, make an apperance in this book ... and I always like to hear more about characters that I liked in previous books.

7. The Labels/Diversity - Thank God we got a character who is not Gay, Straight or Bi! - There are other labels out there and it was good to finally see one represented here.

8. Light and Funny but still with FEELS! - I think this book was pretty well done in terms of balancing the Angts and lightness. It is a funny, quick, light, enjoyable read, but it isn't shallow... there is some deepness here, the MC's have their own issues, and the book definitely gave me some Feels! And I really love books that make me feel something.

Overall, I did enjoy this book a Lot and I do RECOMMEND IT!

This is such a cool and heart warming book.I loved everything about this one, though I have to say that I love the first one a bit more.

We meet Cal and Percy here who are just great characters. The author's brand of slow burn romance really helped me feel it.Like there was no rush and I got see Percy and Cal as enemies (or frenemies?) and good friends and then as a couple.

Loved Cal's room and all the dinosaurs lol. There is something special about the Signs of Love series and it became dear to my heart.I will definitely read the next book.

I love it when I find a new author who has sarcastic bickering down to an art form! Cal and Percy were absolutely adorable in their nemesizing (yes, that's a word now)! I even liked the dinosaur talk (who can resist a guy who invents a "rascalinosaur" to get a little kid to sleep?)

Ever since Percy Freedman (or, as Cal likes to call him when he annoys him (which is pretty much always), Perseus) got kicked out by his family and moved in with his aunt, he has had a merry war going on with sexy neighbor Cal (Callaghan) Glover. When his aunt dies, Percy decides to come back home to clean out the house and sell it. But Cal has other plans and tries his hardest to convince his stubborn Scorpio to stay and give them a chance...

I loved those two idiots together! They're bickering was adorable, and the way the entire cul-de-sac knew what's going on before them and decided to gang up on them to finally make something happen was just hilarious! True, not much happens, and there is almost no drama, but I happen to love those things. Slow burn romance, "enemies" to lovers, AND sarcastic bickering? Yes please! I need more of these books. Seriously.

One tiny quibble: the pacing. Nothing physical happened between Cal and Percy until the 60% mark (yes, I know, I just said it, it's a slow-burn romance. And the bickering... But still.), and while the games like Sherlock Gnomes and Zombie Apocalypse were hilarious, sometimes I just wanted something physical to just happen already. But it didn't take away from my enjoyment of this book! I had a silly grin on my face the entire time and *may* have snorted (out loud) in public sometimes (ok, many times...) at their bickering. LOVED IT! On to the next one!
