This wasn't my first book by Anyta Sunday. I've read Nest, Rock and a few others of her standalone stories. But in this special series dedicated to astrological signs, it seemed to me a whole other person wrote the book. I couldn't get into it and the characters were weird and not relatable to me. There was already a certain chemistry between the MC's and I felt like I missed a huge chunk of their history together, even though there was a bit of explanation inbetween. But I couldn't feel it, so that's a dead giveaway a book isn't for me. So I stopped reading at 32% into the story. I loved the more slow, emotional and angsty books by the author, this jumpy, flirty and very confusing other side of her unfortunately wasn't for me.

This was too cute! I love Cal and Percy so freaking much! I went in thinking that nothing would top Jamie and Theo but these guys.... Anyta has this way of pulling you in and making you fall in love with all the characters and I love it!

Percy is scared to ket anyone in because they always leave him. So he's closed off his heart, not letting anyone so they can't leave him. He's even started leaving them before he gets left. When his Aunt dies and he goes back to her house.... his neighbor may just be the one to change his way of thinking.

This also features a Demipan character if you're looking for a book with that label. There is also a gay character... duh this is a m/m romance. Also it's a HEA ending, which I love to death! The banter is great between the characters and I just loved the tension in the air. This is a great book to this standalone series and I highly recommend it!

I loved, loved this book.
Personally, I'm a virgo myself so I was already wrapped in from day one, but don't you let that deter you. The story that unfolds is just the right amount of charming, flirty, sweet and naughty. Percy and Cal were such a good combo from the beginning to me. Even when they were frienemies, they were an epic due. The sizzling chemistry beneath the surface kept me in suspense, literally screaming at the book for them to step up!!! And eventually, they did. Seriously.
This is my first book by Sunday and I'm a believer!
The characters were relatable and funny. My only negative comment would be that I wanted to get to know them more, see more of an epilogue situation. It was a good length and steamy when necessary. I can't wait to read more from this author.

I was given this book as an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Scorpio Hates Virgo gave me everything it promised and more. It sucked me into a quirky and captivating world that I wish I could have stayed in forever. Despite the seriousness of the themes in the book, it managed to stay light and funny, making me genuinely laugh numerous times.

Callaghan Glover is basically what Ross from Friends would have been if he didn't suck that much. Cal has Ross's good features with a bunch of his own and more, just when you think he can't surprise you anymore, there he goes again ... he is truly a gem and it is painfully obvious to everyone that he should be with the one and only Percy Freedman, except for ... Percy Freedman himself, unfortunately.

This book follows the enemies-to-lovers trope, except that Cal and Percy aren't really enemies and they aren't really nemesis ... in fact, if anything, they are friends. They develop a strong bond with one another that sets up the scene for the quirks and trills that the book so nicely gives to us.

I normally don't like the word quirky but this is exactly what it felt like, surprisingly in a positive way. The narration is pleasant and carefree, just as Percy himself, but not to the point where you feel like slapping your main character for being silly and ridiculous.

The secondary characters are just as lovely and vivid, they manage to make the story easily believable.

I would definitely recommend reading this book, even as a stand alone (which is how I experienced it). I plan on reading the first installment in the future as this met my taste in all the right ways and I can't wait to see what's next. 5/5.

Anyta Sunday does it again, leaving me with a romance that had me flipping the pages so quickly that my poor Kobo kept freezing up. It just couldn't keep up with my voracious appetite for more of this story and the nerdy, wonderful characters within it.

Percy is a character that is very identifiable to some, I believe. Afraid of the word home, and all the "trappings" that might come with it. Afraid of commitment, even though he does want his own happiness. Instead of trying to stick close to the one place he feels most comfortable, cared for and loved he seems to spend most of the book fighting against those feelings instead of treasuring them.

Callaghan amuses me for so many different reasons, including his verbosity. He is my kind of guy, with a word for every occasion, and a dictionary as a weapon. Sometimes almost literally. His love of dinosaurs is honestly what drew me to this book, as I've been obsessed since a child, and I want to own every single one of his t-shirts.

Their relationship is the type of slow burn I do love to read, and their quips and jibes at each other are truly amusing. Callaghan's family honestly felt like spectators in the best possible way. Ellie and Marg have their own kind of heart, filling the pages they're in with love, and amusement. It is the heart of this novel which burns brightest.

I can't wait for the next Anyta Sunday book I can get my hands on, as she has truly made me fall in love with her writing.

Having read and loved the previous novel in this series, I was left slightly disappointed. Although cute and light-hearted it felt off. The lightheartedness worked well for the romance, it made the harder "plot" points a little jarring -- Percy's grief over his aunt's death, Cal's family drama .. I loved the enemies to lovers plotline I just didn't think it flowed as well as I expected. Their banter was top notch.
I enjoyed this enough that I will likely read more by this author, I'll be a bit more hesitant.

Sometimes, you just want a Twinkie instead of a steak - a bit of empty calories that are oh-so-enjoyable but never going to be filling or much remembered after the next hour. The same applies for books - sometimes, it's just nice to enjoy a slow burn romance that is a quick and easy read. With Scorpio Hates Virgo, Anyta Sunday has written a slice of life slow burn romance that is sweet enough to rot teeth but worth it all the same for the guilty pleasure experience it gives.

Story: Percy returns home to his beloved Aunt's house for her funeral - the Aunt who cared for him and believed in him after he left his family when he came out. Percy always had a fractious relationship with neighbor Callaghan but all the neighbors on the cul-de-sac are a close knit group. Now, heartbroken over his beloved Aunt's death and the recent breakup of his long term relationship, he feels it is best to sell the house and move on. But the neighborhood - and especially irascible neighbor Callaghan, may have something to say about that.

This is your typical slow burn romance - with both main characters invested in each other but through misunderstandings, miscommunication, and the usual past baggage are unable to recognize their attraction. It makes for a lot of amusing double entendres and longings hidden within innocuous-seeming statements. These are staples of the slow burn romance and author Sunday does it well.

Admittedly, there isn't a lot happening in the book. It's mostly about the boys being thrown together often and the warmth and quirkiness of the cul-de-sac residents. But that's ok - we're reading this for the slowly unfolding romance rather than for any drama or action.

The book ends on a nice note and leaves room for more characters in the future. In all, this is a very undemanding but enjoyable read - a guilty pleasure Twinkie to lift your spirits as you watch two nice guys fall for each other all over again. Ohhhhh, I'm just all *heart eyes* after reading this! How can you NOT fall in love with these two?! Percy and Cal have been nemeses for years - at least, that's what they'd have you believing. The truth? These two are so totally head-over-heels-in-love with each other that the whole neighborhood knows it, but they can't see it.

This has so many elements that I just love in stories - enemies to lovers, them talking to each other online where one of them doesn't know who the other is, meddling friends/neighbors/family, fantastic and witty writing, snarky and hilarious dialogue. Gosh, this was so wonderful to read!

I loved the writing and I just absolutely loved all the small details in this story about what Cal and Percy say to each other, how they say it, and what they don't say. Loved this, can't recommend it highly enough! And now I've got to go back and read the first book!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was very much hoping to adore this book since I didn't like the first in the series. Which should prompt you to ask... if you didn't like the first one, what on earth would make you want to read the next?

Well, the promise of enemies to lovers, of course.

Of which this wasn't.

More like imaginary frenemies who wanted each other so bad they had to convince each other of some alternative universe where they hated each other. Alas, not enemies but still a cute dynamic.

The dinosaur and mystery themes were cute/light-hearted/sweet/funny. Very low angst. An easy read.

I keep going back to Rock, which was not just heart-breaking. It seared my heart. It stomped on my heart. I was useless for days after reading it. And I keep hoping there's another one with that much tension, that much of a feeling that makes me feel like the world is completely, totally unfair. But instead, the proof I get of the world being unfair is that Anyta Sunday is dedicated to fluff, which is nice, fun, easy to read... but I want her to write something that will break me in two.

Sigh.

Until then, I'm just going to have to read everything she writes.

I know.

Poor me.

Scorpio Hates Virgo was oh so slow burn, maybe even a bit more than the previous Leo Loves Aries. I loved this slow burn as much as I loved the previous one, especially since there were subplots which kept the story going so the story didn't loose any pace. And of course, the snark and banter between Percy and Cal made everything so sweet and interesting.

Percy, the main character, doesn't trust easily and tries his best to keep people at arms length. He's been hurt before - multiple times - and losing his Aunt Abby makes him want to escape the memories of Abby's house which he inherited. He's on the mission to sell the house to escape the memories he's unable to deal with. Percy was easy to identify with - the loss, the grief, and the trust issues. Despite all that, Percy was snarky and loved to banter, and he was also incredibly funny. Callaghan is the ultimate family guy because he puts his family first, and he's ready to lie a little to get what he wants but his lies don't hurt anyone. Cal's just adorable!

Percy insist that he and Cal are nemesis - or at least frenemies - but it's only his way to try to keep Cal at arms length. Cal's his straight neighbor and Percy doesn't want to get mixed in something that would only lead to heartbreak. Still, there's undeniable chemistry, such a slow burn and UST that's just so good. Both of them are so stubborn and headstrong, and their banter just makes it so adorable.

Scorpio Hates Virgo was full of neighborly games, funny moments, dealing with grief and loss, stubbornness, slow burn and UST, and absolutely adorable main characters. Plus of course, a cameo of Theo and Jamie from Leo Loves Aries, which was just brilliant to meet them again during the neighborly games (Theo's mother is Percy's neighbor).

In conclusion, I really loved Scorpio Hates Virgo and it just solidified my love for the Signs of Love series (which I really hope Anyta Sunday will continue in the future!) The story was so enjoyable and adorable but also dealt with more serious issues such as dealing with loss. I can only recommend Scorpio Hates Virgo, because it was such a brilliant and beautiful story.

This is such a lovely, sweet story. Cleverly written as usual by Anyta Sunday, with hidden depths and lots of UST for much of the story. The main characters are cute, with a strong connection between the two would-be lovers throughout, and with Percy trying to identify who the mysterious ‘gnomes’ are in a twist on Secret Santa there’s plenty going on in this slow-burn romance. I adored the neighbours and the sense of community that existed within the street as they try to ease the grief and uncertainty Percy is experiencing. It was also good to catch-up with Theo and Jamie from Book 1 (Leo Loves Aries), although this story can be read as a standalone.

Nemeses dictionary definition: a long-standing rival; an arch-enemy. Percy and Call are friends/neighbours who become lovers, although they set themselves up as enemies by pretending they don't like each other. There are some great one-liners with double meanings proclaimed from both guys.

I really loved Scorpio hates Virgo. I loved Cal and Percy’s banter and their funny old couple moments. I also loved how we get to see multiple stories taking place in the one book.
I especially loved the mini zombie war toward the end of the book. My favourite part though was probably seeing the stories of the characters from Leo loves Aries emerge in Percy’s neighbourhood and see them interacting normally. Percy’s world while being sad at the start -due to the grief of losing his aunt - was one filled with banter, gnomes and loads of interesting flashbacks. I enjoyed it and at the same time hope for a little bit more of Perseus and Cal.

As a huge fan of the first book in this series, Leo Loves Aries, I was pretty stoked to get to review this book. While perhaps not as good as the first book, Scorpio Hates Virgo was still a hilarious and romantic book in its own right. The characters were oh-so lovable, and the concept was innovative and fun. I loved the mystery aspect of the book that the Sherlock Gnomes game added, and the "dictionary" definitions at the beginning of each chapter were hysterical. All in all, this book was great, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to read an enemies-to-lovers romance.

Here's to hoping the author writes more book to the series!

Scorpio Hates Virgo is the first novel I’ve read by Anyta Sunday and I’m thrilled to know what all the fuss has been about! This one had such a creative story-line and I truly enjoyed the characters. It’s fun to read a slow-burn romance every once in awhile, so if that’s what you’re craving, Scorpio Hates Virgo will certainly fit the bill.

Grieving, Percy Freedman has to return to his beloved aunt’s home after her passing and is immediately assaulted by all the wonderful memories. Anyta Sunday does a wonderful job creating the ambiance that Percy must be feeling and this bittersweet mood continues throughout the story.

Percy has always been attracted to neighbor Callaghan,Glover (Cal) and in the way of most teen boys with a crush, has covered it up by pretending the opposite. These two engage in some of the wittiest banter I’ve read in a long time and I found myself smiling repeatedly over the affectionate, good-natured, romantically charged word-play.

.If you’re in the mood for a well written, slow burn romance look no further. Now I’m going to go back and read the first in the series and find out what else I've missed!

This book is:
- cute and fluffy and fun
- one of the main characters loves dinosaurs!!!! (I love dinosaurs so this is v exciting to me and definitely merits being the second thing I mention about this book)
- the “enemies to lovers even though it’s clear from page one that we’re in love” trope
- positive, healthy relationships with loving and supportive family members

Most importantly: Labels are used!!! Cal is canonically on-the-page demi and pan, and explains the reasoning behind why he identifies that way!!!! In my review of Leo Loves Aries, I mentioned that I’d wished the book had let Theo be on-the-page bisexual (or even address the possibility of using the label), and in this book it did finally happen! Theo has a cameo and talks about how it took him a while but he realized he’s bi—which is really important to me as a bi reviewer who's frequently frustrated by bi erasure.

Another note—the whole astrology aspect of this series isn’t really a very prominent feature. the main characters aren’t the ones who are particularly interested in it, and neither am I, so that worked out.

This is a very good read if you want something sweet and cute and a little tropey but very well-done! :)

Everyone else seems to love this one, so something must be wrong with me. I could barely get through the book.
I'm all for the slow, slow burn, but this was so slow burn that I lost interest. There wasn't enough chemistry, enough sexual tension, enough something for me to maintain my interest. It was all very anticlimactic.

Abaolutely wonderful story! I could read Anyta Sunday all day every day, her writing is so funny and detailed and easy to read,
I got through this book so quickly, in less than 2 days and it's because of how amazing, inclusive and expressive the characters are!
I have fallen hard and fast for Anyta's oc'a yet again and can't wait for the next installment!

It's with a sad heart that I say that this book was just ok for me. I usually love this author and I've given her more 5 star reviews than any other author. I went into this with high expectations but it just didn't pan out for me.

First off I was disappointed that this wasn't a enemies to lovers story as I thought it was going to be. It's actually more of a friends to lovers story. Not necessarily bad, but not what I was in the mood for.

I also felt it was just super slow. Too slow. There's a slow burn and then there is FFS just get together already. In the first book in this series the slow burn was perfect because Theo really was that clueless. I couldn't buy that premise here. It's obvious from the beginning they both have feelings for each other. They just choose to not do anything about it or even have a conversation about it until the very end. By the time they got together I was over the whole thing. I was not all happy when they finally did the deed. I was all "It's about flipping time!".

I liked Percy but while I didn't dislike Cal, I felt like I had no idea who he was until the last 20% of the book. As a result I really wasn't committed to him or them as a couple.

One of the most difficult things for me, which was probably my issue alone, but I didn't get half of what they were talking about. I don't know if it was cuz I was distracted and not really in to the story or if I'm just a ding bat, but I seriously didn't know what they were talking about half of the time. There's all these little references and sayings and they kept going over my head. One in particular stood out.... Cal is angry and says something about "Get the pringles cuz I'm mad and we're going to talk" (this is paraphrased cuz I'm too lazy to go get my kindle and look it up). This is a pivotal relationship scene but I was barely paying attention cuz I was wondering what the heck Pringles had to do with anything. The entire book was like this for me. I was doing that Scooby Doo "ruh??" head tilt every 10 minutes. Since this book has a kazillion 5 star reviews this is probably totally me but, yeah, didn't get it at all.

So.....not a bad book, just not a book for me. *weeps silently as I had high, high hopes for this book to break my meh book streak*

This review pains me to write because I adore Anyta Sunday, but I struggled to give this book even 2-stars.

Everyone else seems to love this one, so something must be wrong with me. I could barely get through the book.

The writing seemed... off to me throughout the story. It was sort of all over the place, with a plot that centered more on the neighborhood dynamics than the two MCs themselves.

I also was really looking forward to an enemies-to-lovers story, but this wasn't actually that at all. It was a faux enemies-to-lovers story, which, I can assure you, is nowhere near as satisfying.

I'm all for the slow, slow burn, but this was so slow burn that I lost interest. There wasn't enough chemistry, enough sexual tension, enough something for me to maintain my interest. It was all very anticlimactic.

I didn't like Frank or the fact that Cal pushed Percy to reconnect with him, I thought Cal didn't give enough of himself to Percy, and I thought the book was full of side plot and tangents that distracted from the romance.

I'm sticking with 2-stars, at the moment, but... yeah, I'm feeling meh.

This was a sweet story. I don't remember the first one very much - Jamie and Theo. Anyway this is the story of Cal and Percy who slowly develop their relationship during Percy's return home to handle his Aunt's affairs after she's passed.

I've read a lot of slow burns, but this was way up there for "slow". What keeps the romance going for me is the arguably fake verbal sparring they've got going on consistently throughout the story. Cal left his Master's program to return home to take care of his mom after his dad left. And Percy is just this poor lost soul with a terrible relationship record in addition to the one family he's had left dying. You don't get any physically intimate scenes (more than kissing and a wandering hand) until much later on in the story. The whole first part of this is Cal slowly coercing Percy into his life and giving him a purpose again while dealing with his grief. He is a masseuse or physical therapist of sorts(can't quite remember).

The relationship between the two of them as the story goes on really relies heavily on their established frienemies and the banter. Overall I really liked watching the somewhat-cat-dog dynamic. I can't say it was OMG SPECTACULAR because it was so slow and there was just something there for me that didn't work. I think part of it was the fact that they didn't really seem like "enemies" to me. There was very little setting change within the story because it took place in the neighborhood for the most part. It worked very well as a contemporary romance. Solid 4 stars.
