Percy, short for Perseus, and Cal, short for Callagan, have been “enemies” since the day they met years ago. Except there’s more to the story, and its possible that they may have just been bickering to hide how much they like each other. Its honestly adorable. Percy is facing some hard times, his beloved aunt has died and now he has to move back home to prepare to sell her house. His neighbors don’t want him to move though, and led by Cal, they try to convince Percy to stay. Its heartwarming to see him realize that he hasn’t lost everything because he still has people that love him.

Cal also has been going through a hard time: his dad left, he broke up with his longtime girlfriend, and he had to leave his master’s program. In spite of all of that, Percy is a shining light in his life that brings him joy. When they continue to bicker despite their growing attraction, you can’t help but wonder when they’ll just give up and kiss already and when they do its so satisfying. The slow burn also makes sense beyond their initial “enemy” status because Cal is demisexual. He needed all that time spent bickering to develop a physical attraction to Percy along with his romantic attraction. And let’s just say that physical attraction he develops is hawt.

All of Ms. Sunday’s romances are so sweet and this one is no exception. The horoscope aspect is not as pronounced in this one when compared to the first in the series but still has a role to play. I can’t wait to see if there is going to be more in the series, I for one, am ready for 4 more. So if you’re in the mood for a sweet HEA, then look no further.

A great frenemies to lovers story.

I find Anyta Sunday's writing quite delicious. Her humor is witty, snarky, funny and inventive; I love it! Scorpio Hates Virgo is the second book in the Signs of Love series but it can also be read as a standalone. Book one, Aries Love Scorpio, is fantastic, too so I highly recommend it as well.

Percy Freedman has come to sell his beloved Aunt's home, which he inherited when she died. All of the neighbors on the cul-de-sac think he should keep the house and live in it; even his nemesis, Callaghan Glover.

Percy has a certificate in Massage Therapy and gives great massages. Callaghan (Cal) is a student of paleontology; he's obsessed with dinosaurs. The book is liberally sprinkled with references to dinosaurs and I have to inject something personal here. The day after I finished reading this book I went on a mystery bus trip – destination unknown – we ended up at Dinosaur World. I had the best time looking at all of the replicas of various dinosaurs and remembering the various passages in the book that talked about them. This made what could have otherwise been a somewhat boring trip (I'm not crazy about dinosaurs) very interesting.

Anyta Sunday is fantastic at writing slow-burn romance. The "dance" that Percy and Cal do throughout this story, and the snarky comments they make to each other, kept me fully engaged from start to finish. Things are also made interesting by the fact that Percy thinks that Cal is straight. The book made me laugh and cry, and at times I wanted to knock some sense into Percy and Cal.

I love how the beginning of each chapter is preceded by a little teaser, for example:

percalinary
noun / per . cal . i . nary

Definition of PERCALINARY
: a reference containing words and their definitions and usage according to Percy Freedman and Callaghan Glover
: a reference explaining the implied meanings of words as used by Percy Freedman and Callaghan Glover

Example of PERCALINARY in a sentence
My first time watching Percy and Cal interact required frequent recourse to a percalinary to understand what the hell type of flirting these two were up to.

I loved this story and I hope there will be more books in the Signs of Love series.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

I received this ARC for an honest review.

Can I say swoon?! I loved it! Again, Anyta Sunday put out a slow burn, tantalizing romance. I will say that I wish the "hate" between the two main characters was actually there. Mostly it was never an enemy's to lovers trope, more like an "I don't want to like you so I am going to tease you" trope.

I loved the mystery theme to the whole book. It kept me guessing and wondering along with our protagonist. Also, the author does a great job of giving the characters the correct astrology characteristics.

Overall, five stars!

Another good story from [author:Anyta Sunday|5155341], with enough angst and sex to keep you happy.

Percy and Cal where great foes and friends and well drawn characters, who drew you into the story from the start.

Two minor negatives:
1) I didn't get the Sherlock Gnomes game to start with
2) Cal's mum and sister would have benefited by having their characters defined a bit more.

Overall I'm really looking forward to reading the next instalment in this series.

Surrounded by a delightful cast of secondary characters cheering them on, Percy and Cal discover that sometimes love is right before us if only we're willing to see.

4 STARS!

This turned out to be quite the charming story. So many different unique characters made this story enjoyable.

Percy and Cal sure did take there time getting together. I enjoyed their angsty dance. I liked their banter. But most of all, I liked them together. A lot of the times I have a big issue with reading a book where the characters take the entirety of the book to actually couple up. But I must admit the waiting in this book was a sweet kind of torture. Plus the author was good about filling the book up with other stuff that was going on.

At a young age Percy was kicked out by his parents because he's gay. He then was taken in by his Aunt Abby. They were close and he's completely at a loss to how to cope with her passing. All he knows is he doesn't want to live in the house and wants to put it up for sale. The problem is all the people in his col-de-sac are extremely close and want nothing more than to help him through this tough time and for him to stay and make himself a home in his aunt's house. No one want's that more than Callaghan though.

Percy was dumped before the funeral of the aunt who raised him and seems to be a bit lost since. He doesn't have much of a family since none of them want anything to do with him. His only relative who speaks with him is his cousin Frank, but since the reading of his aunt's Will they have been on the outs. Percy was left the house and none are too pleased about it including Frank.

Cal.... What a sweet charming gentlemen he was. His father recently decided he couldn't 'handle' his family life anymore now that there is another baby on the way and has left them. Cal dropped out of college and is doing his best to keep his family together. While doing this he is also trying to keep Percy across the street and in his life. But things aren't going so smoothly when Percy keeps on insisting they look and potential places for him to move. What is working is that they are both dropping their walls and getting to know each other behind the sarcastic barbs.

I loved the time they all spent together with Cal's family. I adored both of his sister's and the relationship Cal has with them both.

I really liked how involved all of the neighbors were in helping Percy make his aunt's house his home once again. It was very sweet and I wish the world had neighbors like this. If they are out there, I am super jelly! LOL

If you enjoyed the first book then I have no doubt you will love this one. If you haven't read the first book I recommend you pick it up and this one as well!

Happy reading dolls! xx

Scorpio Hates Virgo is a beautifully written slow-burn romance that I simply could not put down before I had finished reading it from cover to cover. It drew me in and kept me there unlike anything I've read recently.

It gave me the happy feels and made me smile like a lunatic because these guys were simply adorable. Their banter didn't make me laugh out loud, but it made me smile this slightly crazy happy smile. I also really, really liked the other, less important characters who were there for our heroes Percy and Cal. Cal's sister Ellie, for example, was a stroke of genius from Sunday's part, in my opinion.

The writing style seemed slightly different from Sunday's usual style and it took me a couple of chapters of getting used to, but in the end I loved the way it made me root for Percy and Cal. I loved how obvious their attraction to one another was, but I loved it even more that Sunday made them take their time and allowed the reader a chance to get a glimpse into these guys' lives and also understand what they saw in each other.

I only wish that the story had been longer and that there had been something from Cal's POV as well. Maybe an epilogue or something would've made the story even more perfect.

Scorpio Hates Virgo is a second book in the series Signs of Love (beginning with Leo Loves Aries, reviewed here). It is almost as good as the first one, but with a different plot, of course. I liked the first book better, maybe that’s just because there are Leos in it :).

Here, the two guys, Percy and Callaghan (or, mostly Cal), are ‘nemeses’. Each chapter begins with a ‘definition’ of an expression that looks like a standard dictionary description, but of course, it isn’t.

When Percy’s aunt dies, he is forced to go back to their house. He wants to sell it, but the game of Sherlock Gnomes (a neighbourly game that forces him to help neighbours and have neighbours helping him, secretly), makes him feel that maybe selling the house is not as good an idea as he thought.

Even more, his relationship with his nemesis, Cal, develops into genuine friendship and, what Percy would love, something more. We get to know why their relationship is like it is when Percy describes how he first met his neighbour. Percy fears his attraction to his straight neighbour but it turns out that he may not be so straight after all.

It is an adorable, slow burn romance, with some steamy scenes. It is perfect to read when one wants to relax and just enjoy in an easy, adorable, and sometimes hot, book.

What a treat! I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about the dictionary entry at the start, and to be honest, those never really did it for me, but other than that small detail, I loved this book. It was funny, there was clever word play, and the growing awareness between Perseus and Callahan that they couldn't consider themselves nemeses anymore had me rooting so hard for them.

This is also very much a story about grief and loss and a community, an extended family actually, coming together to help the healing process. The Sherlock Gnomes game was a ton of fun and gave great insights into all the secondary characters. I'd love to read more in this world, so I'll definitely be going back to read Theo's story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Anyta Sunday for the opportunity to read this title in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I am not even exaggerating when I say Scorpio Hates Virgo was my most anticipated m/m novel of 2017. The very second after I finished reading Leo Loves Aries, the first book in Anyta Sunday’s Signs of Love series, I was already on Goodreads trying to find out as my info as I possibly could on the sequel. And when I finally got my hands on a copy?? I guess you can say a few screams of excitement were involved.

Scorpio Hates Virgo has quite a deceiving title; this is not a book about hate – it’s a slow-burn romance between semi-nemeses who are only nemeses because they’re both too stubborn to admit the burning sexual tension between them that expresses itself in sarcasm and banter.

Percy is the Scorpio and has not had a good few months: his boyfriend broke up with him for someone else because he wasn’t “family material,” his beloved aunt – who took him in when his parents disowned him for being gay – has died, his cousin hates him because their aunt left Percy her run-down house, and now he is trying to sell said house because there are too many memories for him. But despite the sadness permeating his life, Percy is an amusing protagonist, and incredibly funny – but most importantly, sympathetic too: his entire life, the people he has loved have left him, so he has resounded himself to keeping people at a distance for his own safety. Returning to the cul-de-sac is hard for him, made doubly so by the appearance of his nemesis, Cal, who just will not leave him alone.

Aside from the fact that Cal is a grammarian – which is reason enough to love him – he is also one of my favourite Anyta Sunday characters so far. And why? Because he wears dinosaur t-shirts, he left his Masters in order to care for his family, he is super sarcastic, and he’s demipansexual. He spends a majority of the novel trying to support Percy as much as possible, and coming to understand his own feelings and sexuality.

Unlike a certain Leo from Leo Loves Aries, Percy and Cal aren’t oblivious to the blossoming romance developing between them – they have always known it was there, simmering beneath the surface of their banter, but have been too afraid to bring it to the light. Especially Percy who has had far too many heartaches and is terrified of falling for a what he believes is a straight man.

What tides the reader over is the incredibly prolonged slow-burn romance that, not even exaggerating here, takes up 90% of the novel. But I love slow-burns – the slower the better in my opinion – and was blushing at all the flirting, rapid-fire wordplay, lingering looks, “innocent” touches, massages … it was too much.

I burst out laughing when Crystal, Theo and Leone’s mother, is revealed as one of Percy and Cal’s neighbours, and then squealed in excitement when Theo and Jaime make a brief cameo. It’s so heartening to see them together and even more in love than they were in Leo Loves Aries. Oh! And MINOR SPOILER: we also got acknowledgment that Theo is bi, which was the only issue I had with Leo Loves Aries, so thank you Anyta! (Please give us more short stories about Theo and Jaime, Anyta!!!)

Scorpio Hates Virgo is not the book I thought it would be, and that is most certainly a good thing. I expected a lot of hate and angst, and instead the book was tender and soft and super nerdy, with dinosaurs and dictionaries and two headstrong, lonely men. I was in my element.

Please read this adorable novel, and follow my lead in endlessly badger the author into continuing the series. It has everything we could ever want in a Romance: humour, mischievous, longing, sarcasm, whimsy … I can’t get enough. Sunday has outdone herself once again!

I always appreciate the banter in Anyta Sunday's books, and this was no exception. Unfortunately, I couldn't get in the groove with the quirky tone of this like I did with the first book in the series, Leo Loves Aries. To me the young, almost cutesy feel works better with stories set in high school or college. I have a hard time with it when the characters are a little older. This very well may be more on me and my preferences than in this particular story, though!

I liked it. It's a cute and really funny book.

The banter between Cal and Percy was pretty hilarious at times, and one of my favorite things in the book. The people of the cul-de-sac were a close second.

Still, I prefer Leo Loves Aries.

3.5 Stars

I thought she couldn't pull it off twice, I was so wrong.

While I enjoyed this book I didn't enjoy as much as I did Theo and Jamie's book, I felt like something was missing.I thought this was going along the lines of True Colors, because Cal and Percy were supposedly nemesis, I was expecting the reason for their strife to be something more revealing but it wasn't. Their "nemesis" talk was just Percy trying to cover his attraction and usually I would not mind but after reading Theo's book and then Marco's book, I expected more.

I loved Cal and Percy but I missed the banter from the first book, I wasn't as emotionally invested as I was when I read the first one.

I've read first book in this series, Leo Loves Aries, in March after Amazon recommended it to me and I really enjoyed it, it was exactly what I wanted, a cutesy, new adult m/m romance. And when I saw that the second book was available for request on Netgally I decided to pick it up.
You don't need to read the first book to read this one, it has completly different main characters and stories. The only connection between the books is that Percy's other neighbour is the mother of Theo, the main character of Leo Loves Aries. But despite not being necessary to read the first one, I think yoou will enjoy this one more if you do since the characters from the first one appear eventually.
I've loved the dialogue in this. I have also loved the character interactions but especially Percy's and Cal's interactions. Talking about Cal, something that I was surprised to see but that I loved so much is that he is both demisexual and pansexual, making this book even more diverse. I've read a very little amount of books that feature characters of one of this sexualites so that is so refreshing to see.
I didn't have a lot of problems in this one, I just felt that the ending was a little bit too rushed, the relashionship and a few plot lines were just resolved too quickly. The relashionship was so cute and the book just left me so happy, and it was a really quick read. I definitely want to read more of Anyta Sunday's books.

I loved the story and the feeeels. For some reason, though, I had problems getting into the language of the story. Its took me quite a while to really enjoy the story. I can't even say what it was but I didn't get into the flow as easily as with Anyta's other books.
I loved the characters and their problems, the community and their readiness to help. And the feels. Those were intense and absolutely made up for the slight disappointment in the beginning.

I really, really loved this book!! Anyta Sunday seems to be my kind of my author, I like her writing style, characters and stories. Some things were a bit predictable but, nevertheless, I enjoyed the book.
The chemistry between Percy and Cal was palpable, and they were quite a funny pair together.

Very cute and realistic. There were some cheesy moments, but overall the plot and characters were very well developed. Cal and Percy's banter was very entertaining and everything wraps up nicely in the end with no lose plot points. The only thing I found confusing was Cal's relationship with Jenny. It seemed like she was just there as a plot device, and I just couldn't follow her interactions with Cal or understand why he was there considering how she played such a minor role in the overall plot.

Scorpio Hates Virgo wasn't as good as Leo Loves Aries, but by no means is it bad or anything! I so enjoy Sunday's writing and the thoughtfulness she has in her style. It makes her books easy and cute reads that leave you with a gnawing happiness in your stomach. In this second part we actually see characters from the first book too, but the books are still their own separate worlds and can be read apart. After the death of Percy's aunt's, he is left all by himself with the now empty house and awesome neighbors one of which is Cal, his arch nemesis. More or so the book is about Percy's journey to find a new home in a sense and heal from the loss and find love in an unexpected place. I really liked that Percy was out and that Cal is reserved and making him demisexual was great (I'm one too). The slow burning romance was great and I loved the teasing and everyday life depicted in the book. There's actual content in the book, which is awesome even if the plot is quite simple.

Somehow the characters fell slightly flat for me and Sunday couldn't blow life into all of them. Percy is the most coherent one and sadly so we don't get into Cal's head enough. He felt a little distant, which was a bummer. Also, I may have wanted see more of the nemesis thing, since it didn't feel like our boys were nemesis at all, since they seemed to want one another right from the beginning. I wish we could've enjoyed more of their interaction concerning that. I'd really like Sunday to try out a real hate-sex type of nemesis plot (with a happy end of course). I'd be awesome to see how that would work out. Sunday is a master at writing feelgood stories and Scorpio Hates Virgo is one and it's well written and utterly sweet. Thus four stars even if the book has its problems.

4.5 sweet, fun, and swoon-worthy stars !

I enjoyed this book immensely. Watching Percy and Cal go from "frenemies" to friends to more was an absolute delight. Anyta Sunday is such a master of the slow burn (it takes these two forever and a day to pull it together, but I enjoyed every second...so many touching moments that pulled at my heartstrings or even made me tear up), and her stories are always unique and memorable. Scorpio Hates Virgo is no exception. Not only are the main characters a stand out, but the neighborhood they live in was great...I loved getting to explore the little details of these side characters, and I 100 percent wanted to get gnomed (...that sounds dirty and slightly disturbing, but I promise it's not!).

I also love Anyta Sunday's storytelling. Her writing flows so nicely, and before I knew it, I was 50% in and could've read all night if I didn't have school the next day.

Highly recommended to anyone who lives for the slow burn like I do :).I can't wait to see what's coming next in the series!
