Quite the read, enjoyed our hero but Lillian more. Would recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️

this is one of the better selections I have made from NetGalley. This historical romance is obviously not the first in the series however this read well as a standalone. Lilly had a tough father, a creepy abusive husband and a few too many secrets. You can feel the love she has for William and it is heartbreaking what they go through. William's brothers are interesting enough that I want to read more books about them. A sweet story.

I liked this book right from the beginning. The struggles of the characters was well written and drawn out. Good book.

I am not a big historical romance fan but this books description sounded so interesting so I took a chance.
And I loved it. What a great story... I will be reading more from this author!

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. William and Lillian experienced love at first sight, even though William was not her intended fiancé. Her fiance's father blackmailed her to marry his son or he would have William charged with murdering his father. Lillian complied and was treated brutally. Eight years and a war passed and William and Lillian eventually have their HEA. It is a good story and well written.

I loved this book!
I enjoyed reading the different perspectives of the characters and found myself appreciating the eight year lapse between William and Lilly. I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and can I get an Oliver in my life? His wit, understanding and love for intelligence had me thinking he was the most dangerous of the brothers, because well, Rafe is a charming brute, Will is a man with his heart on his sleeve and Oliver...well, I'd love to read his story, if ever something lights up between him and Ali.

I was surprised to find this written in first person especially from the perspective of a male but otherwise, ‘A dangerous deception’ was an entertaining read with lots of angst and brooding characters. Some issues with the flow of the writing but on the whole an interesting story.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
