This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

A good story, and one I would give 3.5 stars for. This one has Carter chasing after Lauren, and finding out she is his mate. He is a werewolf and she is a vampire. A good story overall, although it helps to read "Forbidden Bite" before this one, as otherwise a lot of the characters and reasons for why some things happen do not make as much sense. Still though, if you like werewolf and vampire romances you will like this one. Would recommend.

Lauren was new to being a vampire amd had been turned without any say. She had been falling for Antoine and all he wanted was her blood. Her fangs popped out and she was used her hand to put over her mouth as she gave the two men at the bar their beers. Her fangs grew when she was hungry and she was getting hungrier by the minute. She was working in a small bar on a side street in Savannah. Lauren had an overwhelming urge to bite someone and ran to the backroom. She didn’t see the man and ran right into him. He said he didn’t mean to scare her. Lauren said he didn’t scare her. To think once upon a time Lauren had been such a good girl: never breaking rules, being kind to strangers and stray kittens. But where had that gotten her? Carter said he’d wait for her back at th ebar. Lauren was getting out of this place before she ended biting the patrons. Even though she was a vampire her heart still beat and she needed air to breathe but she now had fangs . She had superhuman strength. She burned in the sunlight. She was on a pretty much liquid diet . Her liquid of choice was blood. This is wrong. There had to be a way for her to get her old life back. The man and woman were waiting for her . Lauren said she didn’t want any trouble. The woman replied than you shouldn’t have asked for a meeting with a witch. Than Lauren said you’re The Dealer? The Dealer was the name she had given for the powerful witch who supposedly controlled all the magic in the Southwest. Since Lauren now found herself in the supernatural world, she wanted the witch’s help. The witch said that is sher and she was the vamp who wanted to go back to hre human life? Lauren said you’ll make me human again? Than she heard” no sweetness. They won’t make you human” the words came from behind her and she smelt Carter’s scent. He added ‘ there’s no going back from what you are. Than the witch had a sharp knife saying she hated vamps especially Antoine Abandonato. Than she held up the knife again to kill Lauren but Carter tore the blade out of Dealer’s fingers and through it in the dumpster. Than Lauren had crawled to the man Carter had put down and bit his wrist and was drinking his blood. The dealer tried to bargain with Carter. Carter had his hands on her shoulders and said let him go. Than carter had her in his arms and was running and she bit him and his blood wasn’t like any blood she’d tasted before. Desire also beat in his veins. He got her in a truck and told her she had enemies chasing her and they had to haul butt now. He couldn’t drive while she bit him. He said if she’d come back to him at the bar he wouldn’t have started a new war. He said they were going to follow them and they weren’t going to let with either of them just vanish. Natalie Kingston-the Dealer- knelt by big Roy as she saw that the vamp got blood from Roy. Despite the magical enhancements she gave Roy he was still human. Lauren wasn’t like most humans as she didn’t die , she actually rose from the dead. Natalie said she’d find the vamp. She had plenty of power at her command. Dark magic, that she’d traded bits of her soul for over the years. She’d use her magic . she'd have her revenge. Carter was in trouble he desperately wanted Lauren. Her scent was an aphrodisiac to him. Carter healed quick as a rule being a werewolf but he swore he still felt her bite. It seemed to burn his skin. Like a brand. One bite that never should have happened and Carter was hooked mind and body. Lauren and carter are mates. But he had to decide what to do about the Vampire that hired him and not telling Lauren why he had really helped her at first. The most important thing to a werewolf is his mate.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot and pace a lot. I felt bad that Carter had saved his Alpha’s mate and she gave him blood as he was badly wounded and eh got addicted to vampire blood because of it. This book had a bit of everything : witches, vampires, werewolves, action, adventure, danger, fleeing form a witch and bad vampire, newly found mates, lies, secrets, and so much more. I advise you to read the first book in this series first for a smoother read. I loved Lauren and Carter together and how they interacted. Carter and Lauren had hot chemistry. I felt bad for Lauren that someone she had been falling for only wanted her for her blood at first. I liked the duo POVs. I liked the idea of different species being able to use each others blood for food. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

Cynthia Eden is one of my favorite writers. This was another great book. I love the passion that is in the Characters. When they fall they fall hard. Carter and Lauren were no exception.

Vamps and werewolfes mating make the story so much better. There is action through out the story line that makes yoi want more. I was happy to see members of the pack from the first book. The end was unexpected. I did not see that coming. I hope it leads into the next book.

Not many authors could keep up with the amount of books published yearly and make them all enjoyable like Cynthia Eden does.

I'm loving this second book in her Bite series, Mating Bite. First off I love werewolves, second...it's Cynthia Eden.

You met Carter in Forbidden Bite and know he's got a thing for vampire blood. So when he's off to find Lauren a newly changed vampire who's run away from her creator you think the worst for poor Lauren.

I very much enjoyed how you see that Lauren's new life as a vampire isn't exactly what she wanted. Her struggles feel real and you want so badly for it all to turn out good for her. You hurt for her betrayal.

I was so happy when it turns out that Carter wanted her more then just because it's his job to find her and bring her back. He falls for her very hard and wants to be with her for now and ever. And for them forever is a long time.

As a whole the story is enjoyable. Like I said, it follows Forbidden Bite but is billed as a stand alone. I personally would read Forbidden Bite first, then Mating Bite. But are doable in one sitting. I looking forward to Riley's story and hope it's next.

If you're a paranormal fan then you'll really enjoy this quick moving story and love the charcters. Eden is one of those authors you can't stop reading!

ARC from NetGalley.

This is the story of Carter after Isabella gave her blood to save him.

I like how the revelations pop up one after another. Being in Lauren's shoes, it is a mite overwhelming. From being dead, then suddenly craving of blood, after wards seeing a werewolf, only to become a mate of one. It too much.

I understood the need to be human. We ran away from the things that we cannot comprehend, and sometimes we also destroy it. This a good example of it. Her fear made her stop in killing, her humanity is still there. I love how the moral values of this book was portrayed.

If book one centers on belief of each person, then this one centers on how humans react to the sudden changes that happened in their lives. From how Lauren's reaction to Carter's determination to protect and his undying love.

First comes lust, then something more. . .

I look forward in reading the next book in this series.

Carter was introduced in the initial installment, Forbidden Bite. I was fortunate enough to read Forbidden Bite and Mating Bite back-to-back. I was immediately drawn into the story by the extremely earnest emotions. However, what sold this as a solid romance was the intense desire between Carter and Lauren.

Carter is absolute…possessive, attentive and 100% dedicated to protecting his mate; he is absolutely all Alpha wolf. Lauren's is less sure...more reluctant but still a great character.

I recommend you read Mating Bite, so that you get Carter entire backstory.

MATING BITE is book two in Cynthia Eden's "Bite" series. Cynthia Eden injects a little 1930s detective noir into this story about blood, sex, and monsters. Carter Sinclair is compelled by an evil vampire to find his supposed mate. It is not lost on Carter that the missing woman is running from the vampire rather than being held from him by others. Such is the beginning of Carter's ethical dilemma and path to true romance. Cynthia Eden keeps things balanced and the story moving along at a brisk clip.

Carter Sinclair is a werewolf addicted to vampire blood. Cynthia Eden does a good job of giving the reader crucial background information and explaining how Carter is something of a victim of circumstance. Ostensibly, at the beginning of this story, Carter is on a mission to deliver an innocent woman to a black-hearted villain.

Whether or not Carter actually planned to go through with everything as directed is debatable. Everything changes for Carter when he is bedazzled by newbie vamp Lauren McIntosh. When Lauren first meets Carter, he is a sexy stranger-turned-hero. Because Carter keeps his original intentions hidden from Lauren, the reader would naturally expect the inevitable emotional blow-up when Lauren finds out. I like that Cynthia Eden opts to take the less obvious path instead. The overarching emotional conflict in MATING BITE is Carter's guilt. It tears Carter up to keep such an important secret from someone who quickly becomes so important to him.

Antoine Abandonato is a fascinating villain. Antoine is a vampire and a killer. His motives in acquiring Lauren, and raising all kinds of hell to get her, are a little baffling. He says that he wants her as a partner-in-crime, but seems oblivious -- as only a megalomaniac can be -- to the fact that even if he achieves his goal, she'd want nothing to do with him. Cynthia Eden draws a stark contrast between Carter's feelings for Lauren and Antoine's twisted feelings about Lauren. Antoine is incapable of understanding the love that develops between Carter and Lauren.

MATING BITE typifies Cynthia Eden's exquisitely gritty yet undeniably sexy tales of vampires and werewolves. Natalie Kingston and Riley Dawes are both bewitching secondary characters who I hope to see in future stories. I can't wait to read Cynthia Eden's next paranormal romance!

I love a good Paranormal Romance, and I know when I pick up a Cynthia Eden book, that she delivers.

This is the second book in her new Bite series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Lauren is a new vampire, and she's on the run. She's been turned by Antoine Abandonato, the bad guy from Forbidden Bite, and he wants her back.

Carter is a werewolf who has a dark secret. In the last book, he was saved by the heroine, his alpha's new mate. The problem? Being saved by ingesting vampire blood means he's now addicted.

When Antoine hires Carter to hunt down his mate Lauren, he offers Carter all the vamp blood he can handle. But, the conditions are simple, no biting Lauren, and bring Lauren back.

But Lauren doesn't know Carter is a werewolf, and Carter doesn't know Lauren is his mate.

When Carter realizes what she is to him, he knows he won't be handing her over to Antoine, but he still hasn't told Lauren what he is...or what she is to him.

Antoine wants his mate back, though, and he won't let her go, even if it means killing Carter. Lauren and Carter get closer even while Carter is lying to her. But what happens when Lauren finds out Carter was hired to hunt her for the man she's running from?

As usual Ms. Eden has sucked me in to her paranormal world. I loved reading this, and I can't wait for the next in this series.

*Note: This series is only available on Amazon via Kindle. Ms. Eden has mentioned that if you buy it on amazon and email her the receipt, she'll email you the epub version if that's what you read.

"If you do not own a Kindle, you can download the free Kindle App for your PC, your SmartPhone or your IPad. MATING BITE is also available as a print title (link).

And…another option (going over all options!), if you only read ePub versions of my books (not the Mobi digital files that come from Amazon), then I am going to follow the example of a few other authors and offer you this…if you purchase MATING BITE from Amazon, just forward me your receipt. (You can forward the receipt to me at info@cynthiaeden.com.) When I receive the receipt, I will then send you an ePub version of MATING BITE."

As much as I wanted to love Mating Bite, it was just too cheesy to work for me. I also couldn't get past the numerous plot holes. I found myself constantly setting it aside to read other things and finally DNF'd at 50%.

A fast read and hard to put down. The pages just fly by. This book draws you in from the very first page and keeps you hooked till the end. For me the ending wasn't as strong as the rest of the book, but this is a very minor comment. Overall the book was a great read. Very enjoyable.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.

I'm loving this incredible new series from Cynthia Eden! This book went from 0-60 and stayed at 60 until the very end. The author brought some new twists to a vampire/werewolf mating. I won't spoil the story and let you find out when you read it. The matings are intense and you get very protective Alpha's in this series. Lauren was pretty naive, but she was still very likeable. The way Carter protected her was perfect even though he wasn't perfect himself. We're left wanting more with a few side characters, more specifically in Riley. I really want to know how he finds a way to mate his human love. Please let him be the next in the series! ARC provided by NetGalley.

4.5 Stars Mating Bite is book 2 in the Bite series, here we meet Werewolf Carter and Vampire Lauren. This story is sexy with plenty of bite. I love the characters and the great storyline and would definitely recommend readers add it to their read list.

Mating Bite is the second book in the Bite series, with Carter Sinclair, who we met in the first book, and a friend of the new alpha Griffin. Carter left his pack because of his new vampire blood addiction after Isabella, Griffin's mate, saved his life. He didn't want his pack to see his spiraling behavior. Carter takes a job from a prominent vampire to find his newly turned vampire mate Lauren McIntosh. Only she's not the vamps mate... she's Carter's.

Lauren wasn't that hard for Carter to find, but once he gets a taste he discovers he can't let her go. But with the vicious vampire waiting for him to bring him Lauren he has to keep himself alive so he can protect Lauren. He decides to keep secrets from Lauren but by the time they come out, she's in love with him and forgive him. Although Lauren forgives him, Carter never wanted her to know just how deeply she was betrayed by him.

I enjoyed getting to know Carter better as a character, but this story was a lot slower and took more time to get into than the first story. Lauren seemed to complain about being a vamp throughout the entire book and how she wanted to become human again. She finally realizes that she's happy the way she is at the very end. I liked the Carter and Lauren's story, but I didn't think it was as good as the first book in the series.

Wow, this was one wild crazy ride! I absolutely loved this story and the extremes this couple had to go through to find their happy ever after.

Lauren was not born a vampire, she was transformed which is a rare occurrence. She is struggling with this unwanted life and all she longs for is to return to her human form again. Carter was given blood by a vampire to save his life and in the process has become addicted to vamp blood. In order to appease his thirst he has become something like a bounty hunter. His current job is to find Lauren and return her to the man who claims to be her mate.

These characters have so many bumps in the road on their journey to togetherness that I was certain at one point there could not possibly be a happy solution. Each time I felt sure they were traveling in the right direction another obstacle arose. Instead of aggravating me, these problems added to the overall wonderfulness of the story. They were completely within the realm of normal – for a vampire/werewolf romance – and never felt contrived. My emotions were all over the place and I couldn’t get enough of it. Of course by the time I reached the end I felt a bit exhausted and strung out and just so dang happy and content.

No one does a better protective, possessive hero than Cynthia Eden and I’m quickly becoming addicted to her brand of alpha.

This is the second book in the Bite series. I do recommend reading the first one so you understand why Carter has the issue that he has and how he ended up doing the task he was doing. Carter was a part of Griffin's pack in the first book but has since left. Lauren is a newly turned vampire and not willingly! She is looking for a way to turn back. They end up saving each other's lives and through the exchange of bites figure out they are mates. But that doesn't make it everything else fall in line or keep them safe! They still have to overcome the original obstacles in their path along with a few extras! This was a fun, fast read. I really enjoyed it and the different take on vampires and werewolves.
