A Very Vintage Christmas has just the right amount of heart-warming romance and mystery mixed all together with a little surprise or two.

I loved the setting of a little vintage clothes shop in a seaside town.

"Forget-Me-Not Vintage was so far from the main shopping streets of Bournemouth town centre you could almost argue it wasn't in the town at all. Flanked by a decent sprinkling of bars and restaurants, however, ...... it promised just enough passing trade to make the location work."

With her red bobbed hair and her taste in vintage attire, Dodie thought she was a bit of a wallflower and I warmed to her straightaway, she was such a kind and thoughtful person who brought out the best in people, and when she finds an old love letter in the pocket of one of her vintage coats she just wants to seek out the owners and return it if she can, and if she meets someone new along the way then that can only be a good thing.

One of my favourite characters was Dodie's gran, "a complete loon" who drove her mad with her eccentric ways and her sense of fun but who Dodie would do anything for..........I really enjoyed their interactions.

This was a lovely charming story which really put me in a festive mood.

2.5

I was looking forward to reading "A very Vintage Christmas" and expected a romantic Christmas story. Unfortunately the book couldn't live up to my expecations.

I had a hard time getting into the story and found everything very confusing. I also missed the wintery and Christmassy atmosphere.

I really liked the story about the letter but I had the feeling that it wasn't very important for the story and everything came to easily to Dodie. I had some serious problems connectting with the characters and found Dodie very annoying. Her boyfriend Ryan was a complete idiot and I couldn't stand him at all.

The romance story was way too rushed and I couldn't really understand their feelings. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the story but I have hopes that I am going to like Islas story better.

This was a great holiday read about finding a letter in an old coat and trying to get the letter back to its owner. The perfect holiday book with a bit of mystery.

Feels like Christmas took a back burner in this book as the focus became about the letter found in a coat pocket & the quest to find the writer's family.

Not my cup of tea.

What a delightful read! Every time I read a book from Tilly Tennant I am having a really good time. Tilly Tennant became one of my favorite authors, every story she writes is different from the others, you never read twice the same kind of stories. I just love that so much. "A very vintage Christmas" was a very lovely read. I loved the fact that the main character is working in a vintage clothes shop, I loved the way she loves every thing vintage, that she loves her quiet evenings and that she is very interested in finding the owner of this love letter she found in the pocket of this beautiful vintage coat she has in her shop. I also loved the romance in this book and the twist at the end. Everything was perfect! I recommend this book 100%!

I started reading this book in October and then life got in the way and it kept on getting pushed down the list. Finally, I picked it up again and finished it, and I am glad I did.

Dodie is a quirky young woman who likes to watch black and white movies and runs a vintage clothing shop. She has a boyfriend, but their relationship seems to be based more on convenience than love and something needs to change. She finds a letter in the pocket of a coat and is determined to find out the story behind both the letter writer and the addressee. Her search takes her to the home of Ed, who has a difficult past which he would just as soon not reveal to anyone. His behaviour is puzzling and erratic and it takes a lot of patience on Dodie's part to figure out what is going on with him.

This is a charming story, and not just a Christmas read. It has some interesting characters which are by turns annoying and funny (Dodie's nan for example), and I truly didn't know in which direction this story would head, although I had a pretty good idea.

A well deserved and solid 4 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

An easy, yet slightly predictable read at times, this is a wonderful festive read. Perfect for fireside reading.

A Very Vintage Christmas was the perfect book for a relaxing end of the year read. It had all the dynamics I love including an unexpected romance. I loved the values of helping others and caring for things from the past. However one thing I found difficult to like was how whiny the main character was at times. She had an odd way of thinking little things were the biggest problems even though other people in the story had it worse. Even with that I still liked the book and am thankful to the publisher for giving me the arc to read and review.

I was swept away by the cover and title of this book, and they are as sweet as the story. I love vintage things and Christmas, so a book combiming elements of both these was a great find, I thought, and I wasn't disappointed!

A Very Vintage Christmas was the first book I had read by Tilly Tennant. I felt she wrote in a fun and interesting way and loved the Dodie and her grandmother. Dodie owns a vintage clothes shop in the seaside town of Bournemouth and I love the way the shop compliments her personality. She is friendly and helpful but people take advantage of her kind manner. There's Isla, her friend who doesn't always treat her well, and then there's her boyfriend.

Dodie's life changes when she finds a letter dated 1944 in the pocket of a coat in the shop and she decides to try and track down the letter's author. She meets Ed during her search and he's just moved to the area. I do like her but she seems pretty vulnerabie at times.

A Very Vintage Christmas is a sweet story of discovery, friendship secrets and lies with the cosy backdrop of Bournemouth at Christmas. I personally love books that take place in places I have been to, and this is no exception.

Thanks to Tilly Tennant and Bookouture for my ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I'm pleased to know that there is a second book and I want to read it.

I enjoyed this nice, heartwarming story, even if Christmas is not yet in the full swing we can easily breath a Christmas atmosphere through the pages of this book.

I loved the heroine so much,I'd like to be her friends,to hug her and try every article showed in her vintage shop.
Dodie is just too good for this era.It seems like everyone mistreats her but she doesn't let anything to bring her down and when an old love letter comes into her hands she is determined to find the person who wrote it and to give it back.

I enjoyed to follow Dodie during her journey and I can't wait to read Isla's story.

I did not finish this book. I got 30% read and quit. The writing was choppy, I did not feel attached to any of the characters, and the story did not move anywhere. I thought the mystery of the letter would be more appealing, but the interest just wasn't there.

Seeing as though Christmas is literally around the corner I thought it was a perfect time to share my review of A Very Vintage Christmas by Tilly Tennant. The question is did it put me in a festive mood?

Well... of course it did!

Tilly Tennant is an expert at writing not only a heart warming story but also creating a charming story that will pull you right in. In this story we meet Dodie who owns a vintage clothing shop which I really wish was real. It just sounds so lovely, I would love to have a wander around and try not to spend all my money! Dodie usually buys her stock in bulk and it is in one of these deliveries that she finds a letter. This discovery sets Dodie on quite a journey to find the owner of the letter along with Dodie making some realisations of her own.

The mystery over the letter captured my heart along with the gorgeous addition of romance. This story has a certain magical charm that is perfect for any time of year let alone the festive period. Ed is a perfect addition to the story as he has a slightly mysterious edge too but I loved their friendship and the way he helps Dodie in her search. This story moves at a lovely pace all the way through and once I picked it up it didn't take me long to read at all.

All I can finish with saying is that even though it's cold outside this story will warm your heart completely. I couldn't help but be caught up in Dodie and Ed's wonderful story!

Five stars!

With thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
