Once I found out that it was published by Bookouture I knew it was going to be a good story as I love their books.

The story itself is a great read. It follows a woman called Dodie, who runs a vintage clothes shop, after she has found an old love letter in a coat and wants to reunite it with the recipient.

When Dodie starts to investigate the letter she starts off by going to the address on the front and meets Ed, who reluctantly helps her in her quest.

As the story progressed I found myself liking Dodie more, which made the story that much better.

This is a brilliant Christmas story, which also works throughout the rest of the year. I give it 5 stars

I haven't read any Tilly Tennant before but this book drew me in. I enjoyed the majority of it but skim read some of it I'm afraid. I enjoyed the storyline with the letter and reading about her vintage clothes shop but I thought she was very rude to Ryan being that he was her boyfriend and I'm not surprised she ended up with Ed, no wonder her and Ryan didn't get on! I'm glad to read there is another book in this series, I would read this one as I would like to see where this leads to. Thank you for letting me read and review this book, look forward to the next one.

I'm a big Tilly Tennant fan so a new book is always a must read! I loved the link with An Unforgettable Christmas which I read a little while ago - it was so much fun to see more of Dodie as last time it was Isla's story. This book is set around Dodie and her vintage store (which sounded amazing!). Dodie finds a letter in a coat pocket which starts a hunt for the recipient and leads her to Edward who she's quickly drawn to.

I loved the letter - It's a shame more aren't written these days. Much more romantic than a WhatsApp! The characters were wonderful, including Dodie's slightly eccentric grandmother! A perfect story for reading in front of the Christmas lights - and even better for being made in to a Hallmark movie! Another great story from Tilly and I can't wait for the next one!

I was underwhelmed by this book, the characters and the plot. If the main character was simply interested in the letter she found, it would have made sense, but her obsession was unsettling. I gave the book a good try and there still wasn't a love story, so I gave up.

A heart-warming Christmas tale of love lost and found, of twinkle lights and friends. Humorous and insightful, this is the perfect story for a Sunday by the fire with a hot chocolate.

This was an endearing and sweet book. Just right for this time of year! Could easily be made into a Hallmark movie.

Dodie, is a kind hearted owner of a Vintage Clothing shop in the charming sea side town of Bournemouth. It's Christmas time and the town is all aglow. She receives some new inventory in her shop. As she is unpacking the merchandise a beautiful green coat catches her eye and she tries it on. As she admires it she puts her hands into the pocket and feels something. It's an old love letter written by a man named George (off fighting a war in France) to his sweetheart Margaret. Written in 1944. It touches her heart. She begins a quest to find the owner of the coat or her family. I loved that part of the story. It kept me wondering and yearning for answers. Perhaps my only disappointment is that some things did not quite come to light.

Still an engaging and heart-warming tale.

Dodie is living her dream, she likes all things vintage both in fashion and outlook and she is running a boutique that sells vintage clothes in the seaside town of Bournemouth.

When going through some clothes, she discovers the most beautiful green coat and it has a letter contained within.

The letter is about a romance back during the Second World War and Dodie is determined to have the letter returned to the people it was either intended for or at least their close relatives.

Whilst trying to discover the true story behind the letter, Dodie is having to deal with a boyfriend who seems rather reluctant to understand what Dodie is really like. A grandmother who has more energy and spirit and is forever off doing some course or class and a brest friend who discovers the father she has never seen suddenly wants to see her.

Dodie is rather put upon and it seems that she is doing everything to help others, discover the letter as well as run a bespoke business in the run up to Christmas. Whilst she does seem to be juggling a lot she has captured the eye of Ed who helps her out to discover more about the letter she has found. Ed happens to live at the house where the letter was sent all those years ago. Surely it is all meant to be?

Of course it is not going to be an easy conclusion, but Dodie and Ed get to find out all the answers.

I was disappointed by this book, there is not much relevance to Christmas other than the fact it is set then. If anything that was a distraction from the main plot lines; Dodie and her boyfriend, Dodie and her grandmother; Dodie and her vintage shop and Dodie and Ed. I wanted more from this book, because I wanted more from the letter that was found, it was a perfect opportunity and an obvious vehicle to go back to the War, to go back to the people in the letter and learn about their story. The author did not take it this way and that left me feeling this book was missing something.

A pleasant enough read if you want some escapism, but left me disappointed.

Dodie Bright has accepted that her friends see her weird, that she spends more time in clothing the same age as her gran, and that her boyfriend doesn't really fit in with her world. She focuses her time on making her vintage clothing business a success, the sentimental value of everything meaning so much to her. When she discovers a letter in a coat's pocket she finds herself caught up on a quest to discover the letters owner. She instead finds Ed, the house's current owner, and together they get caught up in the love-letter. The romance of the letter seeps into everyone's lives, making Ryan more interested in Dodie and Ed newly interested in Dodie and Dodie confused and a bit lonely. The cold weather and joyous singing brings about a change though and she ends the holidays with the one she's meant to be with and an answer to the letter's mystery.

What a sweet story, the kind that's a great read for anytime of the year not just the holidays. I wanted to read Tilly Tennant's A Very Vintage Christmas after being attracted first by the cover, and then by the blurb. I love books about finding old letters, about past and present mixing together, and about anything vintage. Dodie Bright comes from a different era, better suited in vintage fashion amongst her store's treasures. I loved her outlook on life, her friendship with Isla and her gran, and more than that, I loved her slow recognition of wanting something more out of romance and in the person she doesn't expect. Ryan, her somewhat boyfriend, just didn't fit in, but that seemed to be the point. Ed, on the other hand, was fantastic. I wanted him to myself. Then there's the love letter, a story that tugs at your heart string, and really could have been fleshed out even further. It has all the romance readers could want from a sweet romance, with a bit of a backbone from its vintage connected adventure.

A Very Vintage Christmas flows in a natural way, it's not too long, but does cover a lot of ground with its story about finding the family of a letter from the 1940's. Its a tale that's cozy and warm, more Women's Lit than holiday romance though. I really liked this charming story and can't wait for a chance to read Isla's story, A Cosy Candlelit Christmas.

I enjoyed this book and found once i started reading I could not put it down.
Dodie who runs a vintage shop finds an old letter dated 1944 in the pocket of a coat that she has recently bought.
This letter is a love letter from a gentleman to the love of his life. Dodie decides to find the rightful owner and to return the letter, however with little information to go on where should she start.
An easy to read book that you will loose yourself in if you start reading it.

Although this book has Christmas in the title, it is not so much about Christmas, it just takes place at that time of the year. Having said that, I really enjoyed this book. It was just what I wanted curled up in a chair on a crisp evening. Tilly Tennant kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen in Dodie's life.

This book is about a young woman, Dodie, who runs her own vintage shop, after moving closer to her gran when her grandad dies. While unpacking a box she purchased by auction, she discovers a really old letter from George to the love of his life, Margaret V. in the pocket of a vintage coat. The story follows the impact of discovering this letter on Dodie and those around her. Will she find the letter writer or the intended recipient? How does one go about this search? How does this impact Dodie? This book answers these questions and more.

There were several things I liked about this book. First of all Dodie, the main character. She was a caring, fun, eccentric and alive character that I would love to be friends with. She was also a bit of a feminist in that she did not like being referred to as "babe" and wanted to be independent. It took her awhile to get a backbone in some situations, but she does do it. I also liked that this was not just a romance. It was a book about life, being yourself, helping others, being loyal, helpful and standing up for yourself. There is an underlying message about mental health and PTSD that is subtle but is a great message that needs to get out there without being preachy. Then there are the other characters that make this book both funny and serious. Dodie's gran is an eccentric older woman that wants to live life to the fullest. She made me laugh when I read about all the things she tried, as well as her interactions with her granddaughter. I loved Dodie’s grandma. What a fun character she was. She did make me giggle. I also loved Nick, the homeless man too. There really were some great characters in this book. Isla, Dodie's best friend was so different from her, but they were there for each other when it was needed. I hope we read more about her in future books. Ed, the male character who was dealing with so many issues, helped Dodie to see how special she really was. All great characters that added to the story.

A Very Vintage Christmas pulled me along on a wonderful ride. I felt a gamut of emotions while reading this book. Again, this is a wonderful story that is more than just a romantic Christmas story. Pick it up, I am sure you will enjoy it.

Dodie is a lovely individual character who owns a vintage shop. When she finds a letter written in the war years she wants to make sure that it gets back to it's recipient as it must hold special memories. She makes her investigations and this leads her to finding a lovely new man. I loved the whole idea of tracing Margaret.
I could imagine myself looking around the Vintage shop and chatting to Dodie. I love books that really make you feel a part of the whole story.

Any book which starts with the characters discussing James Stewart films is fine by me. I know within a few pages I was going to love this book and I did!

Dodie is the owner of Forget-Me-Not Vintage, a shop selling vintage clothes and accessories and I have to say, her passion for her business make it sound like a wonderful shop to visit. When she finds an old love letter from World War Two in the pocket of one of the coats in her shop, she embarks on a quest to find out what happened to the writer and recipient and return it to the rightful owner. With not much to go on, she decides first of all to visit the address on the envelope.  The problem is the full name and address has been worn off so she has to try random houses on the street. And at one of these houses, she meets Ed Willoughby who also, initially reluctantly, becomes involved in the search.

Finding that letter in the old jacket was a terrific hook to keep me absorbed in this story. I would love to find something like that tucked away in an attic, an old book or, as in the story, in old clothes. Like Dodie, I would be desperate to know about the people too and would probably become obsessed with finding out about them.

Alongside the mystery aspect of this story, Tilly Tennant really brought to life the Christmas atmosphere in the town making wish that our own Christmas Markets were already open for me to wander around. The author described the delicious smells from the stalls along with all the twinkling lights and the Christmas music in the air so well, that I could picture the scene easily.

There was of course a romantic element to the story too with Dodie becoming attracted to Ed which was making her question her relationship with Ryan. Or Brian as her slightly dotty Gran insisted on calling him. I had a real soft spot for Dodie's Gran - she provided a lot of funny moments throughout the book and the close relationship between them was touchingly portrayed. Ed was a really interesting character as his moods seemed to swing from one extreme to another which was confusing for Dodie. As we learned more about his background, he became easier to understand. But could he be 'her very own James Stewart'? When she is already thinking of him as "so gorgeous...lovely and kind, chivalrous and considerate, deep and interesting" I think us readers already know what we want the answer to be!

A Very Vintage Christmas is a heartwarming Christmas read which I loved. It'll definitely put you in the mood for Christmas, it's very romantic and the mystery of the letter is such a lovely part of the story. I'd say this is a must-read for the festive season, a story to leave you feeling all warm inside whatever the weather outside.

Tilly Tennant knows how to keep warm the heart of her readers.

What I loved the most from the first lines of A Very Vintage Christmas - A Heart Warming Christmas Romance is the warm, joyous atmosphere and this mix of old and modern, old-fashioned and present, old times and new frenetic life.
You know I love vintage and I love old stories and I love letters and I love past connected with them. It's not a surprise if you read my reviews.

This romance will be a trip: a trip in the past staying in the present in an unforgettable beautiful warm tale able to bring goodness to all the protagonists and readers as well.

Dodie is the main protagonist of this story and the owner of a vintage second hand store where she sells old clothes. You know very well second hand stores. They have a particular smell, they have a particular atmosphere.
Dodie is connected with the past just for the fact she sells old things.
Every time new items arrive Dodie controls that they are OK, but once, magic, she finds a letter in a coat. The letter is pretty old, written during last Second World War and important.
Dodie had never read a more beauty love-letter than this one and thinking better at her relationships at the moment with the other sex, she thinks that she hasn't never seen all that romanticism portrayed in the letter she just finished to read like an intruder, from the other sex. But you know in modern times is just a story of texts, chats, video calling. It's this.
Dodie thinks that it's better to start to search for the characters of this letter. She knows that the last second world war gone from a long while, and sure that girl won't live anymore in that house where that young soldier wanted to send the letter at, but she must tries because maybe that letter for someone means a lot...

Beautifully written, I enjoy the Christmas' atmosphere and that sensation of warm and friendship, love, good values that from the beginning to the end surrounds the book like in a special aura.
I hope to continue to read all the books written by Tennant!
The cover is wonderful!

I thank NetGalley for this ebook!

Obviously it was the gorgeous covers of this pair that caught my attention at first - and the titles, I do love some alliteration ; ). And the stories were just as lovely! The books are companions to each other - Dodie and Isla are best friends, and the stories told in these run at the same time. A Very Vintage Chridtmas is the first book, and I thought that order worked really well.

Both books are super sweet!
A Very Vintage Christmas is set in a seaside town in the UK, and had that perfect cosy, snowy, christmassy feel. There were some parts where the timing and progression of the story felt a bit weird, but there were so many great characters that I found that easy to forgive.

As a pair, I thought the books worked fantastically! I enjoyed the style of the writing in both, and I loved getting the perspective of both these women - also the fact that their voices were different enough that i didn't feel like I was reading the same book twice.

If you're after some sweet, fun, cosy, Christmassy romance I'd recommend checking these out!

A light easy read! At first I found the main character frustrating and wanted to give her a wake up call for being such a push over with her partner but once the book gets going you can forgive the beginning. A good holiday book and quick read! Really good story!
