I am happy that this book has been reissued, just hoping that the rest are as well.

Some times when an author reissues a book they update it to make it more modern. I am glad to see that that isn't the case with this one. I guess when it was originally written there wasn't anything mentioned that "dated" the book. It is still the same wonderfulness it was when it was originally published!

When rancher Rafe Delaney lays eyes on his new horse trainer, Maggie O'Riley, he is less than impressed. Believing her to be too "tiny" and lacking the strength needed for the job, Rafe wants her to leave. Maggie, however, has no intention of leaving and bets Rafe that she will be able to ride an "untrainable" black stallion by the end of the day. Maggie wins the bet and Rafe realizes that she is both stronger than she looks and very capable as a trainer. While they are strongly attracted to each other, Maggie struggles with her attraction to Rafe because she fears it may stand in the way of achieving her dream of owning her own ranch.

Meanwhile, an unknown person with a vendetta against Rafe's older brother, Burke, widens his attacks to include Rafe's ranch, and the results directly affect Maggie. Will Maggie finally admit her love for Rafe or will her dream of owning her own ranch get in the way of love?

I love Kay Hooper's books. The writing was excellent, the characters are well defined and likeable and the book was well plotted. This is an entertaining read!

Note: I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review. This book is a reprint of an earlier work of the author.

It was a good book but not really my type. I did finish it. Wasn't a huge fan. I'll give it three stars. The storyline was good, just was missing that certain something the truly draws me into a book.

This was a very cute quick read that left me wanting a lot more, I would have loved more about the heroines father, I would have loved more background into the trouble the three brothers are having and I would have loved more of an ending. I guess I will have to keep my eye out for the other books in the series.

Well written romance

Kay Hooper originally released this book 31 years ago as part of a trilogy written with 2 other authors and the story is still relevant. That is what a well written story with well developed characters smart dialogue and an interesting plot does. Rafe and Maggie were a great couple with an instant attraction. I love watching the relationship grow.

I received an advance reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
