A suspenseful story laced with romance and wrapped up in a CSI-type drama!
This author knows her stuff, and isn't afraid to wade into the complex details of crime solving, crossing agencies from FBI and local police forces. Book 2 of the White Knights series is a stand alone story.
With a serial killer on the loose, no one is safe, especially the psychiatrist whose client ends up dead. The frustration and intensity of trying to crack the identity of the killer came through, showing how difficult it must be to piece together facts from bits of evidence. The continued scepticism about clearing Olivia's name was confusing, but I guess the team had to be cautious. I felt sorry for her as she was both victim and accused. It made me wonder how often that may happen in real life.

Recommend to readers who enjoy police dramas with a bit of romantic interest.

This story, which is book 2 in the White Knights series, can stand alone, but I think it would be helpful to the reader to know some of the backstory from book 1. This story revolves around White Knights team member Rick Cannon and Dr. Olivia Dobbs. When Olivia, a psychologist specializing in PTSD, stumbles onto a crime scene involving one of her clients, she is startled to learn that the FBI has been called in to solve the murder. Snipers, self-steering bullets, and romantic suspense are involved and there are enough twists and turns in the plot to keep your interest. Like me, you will probably be sorry to see the end of the story. Ready for book 3!

KILL SHOT by Susan Sleeman “White Knights” 2. Faithworks Publisher’s
Olivia, meeting a client in the park, he mentions murder and takes off. She had already had a list of what she shouldn’t have done, will add 1 more and follow him. A sniper hit, and Rick with the White Knights, is called in. The case, a self steering bullet, unheard of, and as deadly as a sniper. Retrieve rifle, and bullets, and give back to Defense Department Problem someone used it, now they have a sniper to find also. Meeting the Dr, was not what Rick expected, he didn’t like being off guard. Interesting where both have been trained to read people. What follows, is an intricate laid plan, that readers won’t want to put down. Susan has done a great job. First of laying down the case and then the procedure to solve. Awaiting her new book. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Olivia is a psychologist specializing in helping PTSD patients. When one of her patients is shot Olivia stumbles on the crime scene and is chased by the suspect. Rick is an FBI agent tasked with finding whoever killed Olivia's patient. Someone has stolen a highly dangerous weapon and is using it to kill Olivia's patients. Could she be the next target?

Neither Rick nor Olivia is interested in a relationship. Rick is suspicious of Olivia's involvement in the murders and Olivia has seen what a military background like Rick's can do to relationships. Despite their misgivings about each other their is an attraction that neither can deny. Can they both overcome their pre-conceived ideas about each other and be able to act on their attraction or once the killer is found they must go their separate ways?

This is the second book in the White Knights series. I absolutely loved it! The author has a way of drawing the reader in from the very beginning of the story. I didn't want to put the book down, especially when I got to the exciting conclusion around midnight! Kill Shot was well worth the loss of sleep! I love the White Knights team and their interaction with each other and with the people they help, and I look forward to the next book in the series.

DYNAMIC!

Powerful from start to finish! The FBI Task Force “White Nights” have been called in for another special case. It involves a stolen “smart bullet” and someone is using to take out former Marine Snipers. Rick Cannon is heading up the search and is thrown into meeting the very intriguing Christian psychologist Dr. Olivia Dobbs. Is she part of the conspiracy or she is a victim? Why is Cannon so drawn to her on a personal level? This novel is filled with everything Sleeman’s readers have come to expect - a thrilling plot, characters that you’ve come to know and love, family drama, potential romance and suspense on every page! I was provided an ARC of this book by the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

This is the second book in the White Knights series by Susan Sleeman. This book focuses on Rick Cannon of the White Knights. The book is engaging and suspense-filled and anyone who enjoys suspense books will enjoy this one! Ms. Sleeman provides a great introduction at the beginning of the book to reel the reader in so that you do not want to put this book down. If you have read the first book, you will be updated on some of the characters from that book. This book is a clean read which is another positive. The plot of the novel includes technological advances which helps draw the reader into the storyline to discover what will occur next. This book will keep you guessing throughout. If you have not read this series or author, I would recommend that you read her books. This book is the second book, but could be read as a stand-alone book.
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

"Kill Shot" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the second book in a series, but you can understand this book without reading the previous one as each focuses on a different couple. This story did not spoil the previous novel.

Olivia may have seen the serial killer and knew several of his victims, so the FBI team questioned and suspected her. But when someone targets her, they keep her with the team so they can protect her. This provided a chance for the hero and heroine to get to know each other. Both had dysfunctional family relationships, and they motivated each other to deal with this. Rick dealt with forgiveness and trust issues while Olivia struggled with how her family used and manipulated her. Both felt that they needed to deal with these issues before they could make a romantic relationship work, though they were attracted to each other.

The suspense came from the bad guy hunting down and killing certain people and the worry that the weapon might be sold to another country. I rolled my eyes when, near the end, the heroine took a BABY out in a car to calm her down when she knows she's a target. Putting a baby in potential danger because you don't want her to cry? Seriously? Except for that bit, the twisty story line of who took the bullets and why was an interesting, exciting read. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting suspense novel.

When you begin a Susan Sleeman book, get ready for a thrilling ride! She hits the ground running with pulse-pounding excitement and continues on throughout the book without giving you a chance to get off this powerful roller coaster ride of suspense. I don't know how she comes up with all these amazing plots.

Sleeman has created a great cast of characters to populate this book, her second in the White Knights series. These men and women are FBI agents who have all served in the military, and now they work to bring down criminals of the worst sort. The author keeps the reader invested in her characters from the first page, even the secondary ones.

This go round, Dr. Olivia Dobbs is a Christian therapist who counsels mainly ex or current military who suffer from PTSD. When her last patient is murdered nearly right in front of her eyes, the FBI team, White Knights, are called in. There is something indeed very ominous about this case or the regular police would have handled it. A serious threat to national security is in play here and the agents are in a race against time to track down the culprits before there are unimaginable consequences. Agent Rick Cannon, fighting demons of his own, is assigned to guard Dr. Dobbs because she is in the line of fire as well. He doesn't trust her and believes she is involved in this case. Both are believers but both also need God in the worse way with this case.

I loved every single minute of this book, could barely put it down. Susan Sleeman is the queen of inspirational suspense. I never miss one of her books. And her spiritual theme is always heart-touching. Don't miss this one.
