This book had some wonderful ideas in it, that I feel would be good for communications students. An exciting to try.

This is a very practical book, full of tips on how to grow your mailing list. The style is kept relatively low-key, business-like and focusses on the issues. In other words, there's no rubbish, hype or evangelical "you can add millions" claims.

It takes time to ask you to understand who your audience is, to find out what they want and how you can connect with them as PEOPLE and not just number growing for the sake of it. It goes on to focus on what exactly quality content means and why it's so important. A refreshing change from other books which merely focus on the mechanics and mantra.

I really do like this guide and intend to apply it to my businesses.

Excellent advice for writers and microbusinesses. With authors having the burden of doing their own marketing, this 4-volume set gives useful tutorials for marketing yourself through mailing lists and newsletters. Detailed, user-friendly explanations mean that anyone can benefit from the author's advice.

And I do mean anyone. If you have to do email marketing for yourself or your business, you'll find plenty of great ideas here you can implement with your next mailing.

Incredibly useful advice for anyone who runs a newsletter. The information about what flags up spam accounts was especially useful for me. I'll be following more of Barb's writing and advice - she knows her stuff.
