In the novel, Tips for Living, Nora discovers that not only has her husband, Hugh, cheated on her, but gotten another women pregnant. Nora vows to start a new life, but just as she has settled into a new, improved version of herself, Hugh and his new family become her neighbors. But before Nora has a chance to seek revenge, Hugh and his wife are found dead. Unfortunately, Nora does not have an alibi and in fact, cannot remember what she was doing at the time as the murder. So as she tries to regain those memories, she also searches for the killer.

In another writer’s hands, this plot could end up being trite, but Renee Shafransky has a solid understanding of her characters and what makes them tick. The lively past and surprise twists make this novel a page-turner. As echoed in many other reviews, Tips for Living will undoubtedly be a must read for suspense/thrill readers in 2018.

I was not familiar with Renee Shafransky before reading this novel, but am already looking forward to her next novel. I'd like to thank NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for providing me an advanced copy for my unbiased review.

This book was a can't put down until you finish book! Poor Nora her marriage ends because her husband cheats on her. She moves away and starts her life again then next thing you know her husband moves near her! When her ex-husband and his new wife are murdered the police look at Nora. Did Nora get the ultimate revenge? I really enjoyed this book and it kept me guessing until the very end. I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful book! It had me page turning until the wee hours of the night! While I can often predict where a story is going or how it will end up, I was very unsure of this story throughout!

The author did an incredible job of weaving in the strength of this character while making her confusion believable. Aside from the who-did-it aspect, Renee Shafransky brought this central small town location to life. I could "see" the house across the river, I could "feel" her driving down the country roads. It became a place I felt that I knew (though I did not!) Fabulous read and highly recommended!

Thank you to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for providing me an advanced copy in exchange for my fair and honest review.

Tips for Living will undoubtedly be a must read for all suspense readers in 2018. The story kept me captivated and rooting for the MC however it also had me worried for her. Absolutely captivating characters in an idyllic setting, emotional pain and of course murder, what more do we want in a weekend read? Renee Shafransky's writing style will draw in many loyal fans. Five stars.

Nora Glasser is living a nightmare. Not only did her famous artist husband leave her for a younger (and more fertile) woman, but then they have the audacity to move to her small town and rub her nose in their happiness and wealth. Nora has to see them living their extravagant lifestyle with the daughter she always wanted, while she walked away with nothing, except a precious journal of sketches of her that her ex, Hugh, now wants back. Not even her Pilates class is sacred, as Hugh’s new wife, Helene, shows up to that too. So it’s no surprise that she fantasizes about doing them bodily harm, but when that actually happens in real life, Nora is suspect number one. To make matters worse, she can’t trust her own memory, and worries that she’s the one who committed the crime. Tips for Living leaves you wondering until the end: did she or didn’t she? This debut novel by Renee Shafransky is a fast-paced page turner with a satisfying (but unpredictable) end.

This book grabbed me from the very beginning. I did not want to put it down.

Nora had every right to hate her ex-husband Hugh and his current wife Helene - the woman he got pregnant while he was married to Nora. But, she vowed not to become an angry, bitter woman and began to rebuild her life. She'd moved away from the city, gotten a job with a small town paper, and was well on her way, and then the ex-husband and his new family move to the same small town, and the new wife joins Nora's Pilates class.

So when Hugh and Helene are violently murdered in their beds one night, is it any wonder that the police start looking in Nora's direction? Even Nora isn't completely certain that she didn't do it, which means we, as the readers, don't know either. We're just along for the ride as Nora and her best friend Grace try to stay one step ahead of the police and figure out who else could have possibly committed the murders.

I wanted to know who the murderer was as badly as Nora, and this book kept me guessing until the end.

Thanks to Lake Union Publishing for the ARC. I enjoyed it very much!

The author knows how to set a pace and keep it going with a good story. There were a couple places when things moved beyond realistic, but otherwise a good read. Well-developed and likable characters, great setting of scenes, and readable writing style. I liked this book and would absolutely recommend it.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
