The Color of Love is the latest book in Sharon Sala’s popular Blessings, Georgia series. Finally, it is Ruby Dye’s turn to receive a happily ever after. Fans have adored Ruby since the first novella and as this world has grown over the years she’s become a strong character and a pivotal character in many of the stories. This town centers on the people that interact with each of the main characters so through all of the stories readers have slowly been introduced to her underlying strength and her big heart. Even better though we find out that Ruby’s “secret admirer” from the last novel is actually my favorite local lawyer “Peanut” Butterman. Sharon Sala continues to deliver on her outstanding story telling skills and has woven a story that grips both the reader’s heart and imagination. Once again Sala has cemented herself on my autobuy list and delivered a book I’ll be happy to read again and again.
Ruby Dye is always the first to offer to help others out. She has strong conviction and when something doesn’t seem right, or someone is in trouble, she’s going to gather the local troops and go about setting everything right. After finding out that her recent secret admirer is none other than “Peanut” Butterman she couldn’t be happier about what her future might hold. Ruby has a secret though; she had a past before she came to Blessings and now that past has caught up to her. It’s going to take all her strength and the help of her secret admirer to see her through to her happily ever after.

Wow, what a story this was. I thought I was humming along and yet where could this story go? Ms Sala never disappoints and wham I didn't see that coming. Talk about emotions, not sure how many times my kindle blurred. I was so invested in these characters lives that I missed my train stop and walked several blocks back to work.
A small town where the internet isn't needed to spread the news. After all the drama Ruby went through I loved the way she shut down some of the gossips determined to dig out the dirty untruths. Ruby and Peanut (poor man having that moniker) were good people, looking out for others and they deserved their chance at love and a HEA.

Sala is a master at a feel good, fast paced novel. If it's one of her high tension suspense novels or a more hometown feel with a Blessings book. I loved every minute of it and love how each of her books has the vibe of the bad gets theirs. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC

The Color of Love by Sharon Sala is the 5th book in her Blessings, Georgia series. Having read all the books in this series, I was looking forward to reading The Color of Love, as Ruby Dye is the heroine. Ruby has been from the start, the heart of everyone in Blessings, Georgia, as she is always the one who will help them when in need. She is the one everyone loves, as they know they can always count on Ruby. Now this is her story, and it was awesome from start to finish.

In the last book, we learned that Ruby has a secret admired in town, and she prays its Peanut Butterman (the local lawyer). Before he can tell her how he feels, and he is her secret admirer, Ruby is attacked and brutally beaten by her ex-husband. She manages to escape, and hurt her ex, who is then captured. Peanut and the sheriff Lon, bring her home where she will be brought to Peanut’s house to recover. Everyone in town comes forth to help Ruby, and in no time she is able to return to her salon, and helping others. She is also thrilled to know that Peanut loves her, and soon their romance becomes known and the town is happily congratulating them. But just when things are going good, Ruby is once again attacked by her ex’s brother, and Peanut is shot trying to save Ruby.

Ruby falls apart, as she fears for Peanut’s life, which hangs precariously; when he does regain conscious, his memory is gone, and he does not know Ruby. The wonderful town will support Ruby, who will force herself to get back to work and help others. There are also two side stories that are nicely done, especially with the great people of Blessings. When Peanut suffers a seizure that once again puts him close to death, Ruby prepares herself for his loss.

What follows is a heartwarming & emotional story, on many levels, with Ruby and with the other two side stories. Blessings, Georgia is a wonderful small town, with great characters, and couples that you always root hard for.

Sharon Sala writes another fabulous story that had us hooked from the start. She amazes me that she continually gives us such great couples that we become invested in, with each and every book. The Color of Love was a sweet romance, with a lovable couple, wonderful secondary characters that we have come to love and with a touch of suspense. If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series.

The stories of the characters who inhabit the town of Blessings, GA, is almost more a story of an almost dysfunctional family. That’s not a bad thing. In fact, it makes for a delightful series about the people of this town.
Ruby Dye and Peanut (P. Nutt) Butterman have been around since the beginning of the series and have jumped in and out of each other’s lives while trying to get something going. Ruby owns the Curl Up and Dye beauty salon. She’s a small 30ish woman with a past. She reminds me of the Dolly Parton character in Steel Magnolias. She’s sweet and looks out for others more than she looks out for herself. She’s been the recipient of gifts and flowers from a secret admirer. But her past is about to catch up with her, with catastrophic results.
Peanut is a lawyer, in fact the only lawyer in Blessings and he’s got his eye on Ruby. Peanut is in his 40s, never married, and has no family. When Ruby is the victim of a terrible crime Peanut realizes he has to step out of his shell and declare his intentions to Ruby before he loses her.
There are many other characters in this story. Some are background people, others move forward and become secondary characters with their own stories to tell. There’s 12 year old Charlie, trying to support his sick mother and little sister. They need help but don’t know how to get it. There’s also Melissa, who has been working at the hardware store for years until the store owner needs to make room on his payroll for his nephew and fires Melissa. This time the phrase “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” has nothing to do with romance as Melissa rains karma down like a flood on the hardward store owner. In Blessings good things come almost as fast as bad things and for Melissa, a godsend saves her.
There are deaths and weddings and as in most small towns they are intertwined. I really enjoyed the fact that in Blessings people help each other, even when it seems like they don’t deserve it. And sometimes they don’t. A delightful book and highly recommended, as are all of Sharon Sala’s books.

I love the town of Blessings and how everyone comes together as a community to support and help one another. Makes me wish I lived in this town (or maybe one similar to it!)

This installment focuses on Ruby and Peanut. Peanut has been sending Ruby gifts as a secret admirer and now is the time to reveal himself and his love for Ruby. Luckily Ruby loves him just as much! The road to the forever for these two is not easy and they have to deal with Ruby's ex-husband and a serious incident with Peanut that lands him in the hospital. But true love wins out in the end.

This book is very uplifting but has some dark and down moments, but it is what adds complexity to the book. There are some lessons that everyone can take away from this book, especially in how to treat someone.

If you have not read this series, definitely start with the first book as each book builds on the last one.

I have been a fan of the author for years and have always loved her suspense/romance stories, full of complex characters and an engaging plot. When given the opportunity to read this book in her Blessing ,GA series, I did not hesitate.
It was definitely different from the previous stories I had read by Ms Sala, and I have to confess, I was taken aback. The style was totally different. Seemed more like a book written by a new YA author and not a seasoned one.
The main characters are Ruby Dye and “Peanut”. That said, though the “mystery/action” revolts mostly around Ruby, the story went all over the place.
It was quirky, and old fashion, and at times the dialogue seem stilled. More like a 1950s Mulberry story with lots of characters thrown together each having their own idiosyncrasy but none fully developed.
Sadly, a disappointment. Since I respect the author’s talent , I have given it a 3 star rating.
I was gifted this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Small town romance that I expect will be catnip for Sala's fans. I'd not read the earlier books in this series but this wasn't a problem as the two main characters- Ruby and Peanut- were pretty well fleshed out. You know where this is going but there's a nice journey as these two do a dance around each other. Ruby is an abuse survivor and when her awful ex shows up, things heat up. Peanut is pretty laid back but you can bet he'll go to bat for Ruby. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is for when you are looking for an optimistic read.

This was my first book in the series and I will not be reading another one. The characters were tiring and boring. You would have thought these two were a retired couple instead of middle aged. The book did not hold my interest at all. I read a little then jumped to the back. It was very predictable.

Wow! I laughed. I cried. Then I cried some more. Lots of love, along with some hate, in Blessings, Georgia. Small town problems. Caring about one another, sometimes a little too much or just being nosy. I quickly cared about the lives of all. Nice resolutions.

What I love so much about the Blessings, Georgia series is that each story deals with tough subjects that make you think and this book is no different. In The Color of Love (Blessings, Georgia #5), Sharon Sala deals with the difficult issue of domestic violence and homelessness all while in the end, giving us an amazingly beautiful HEA. This is the story of Ruby Dye and Peanut Butterman.

Ruby Dye is the owner of the Curl-up and Dye hair salon and has a secret admirer. She has no idea who it is, but she does have a hope of who it might be. When she is asked to dinner after Sunday Services by none other than Peanut Butterman, she is excited, but before she can even attend, she is assaulted and kidnapped by her abusive ex-husband.

Peanut Butterman has been in love with Ruby Dye for years, and is too afraid of possible rejection, so instead, he remains in the shadows, sending her small gifts and admiring her from afar. When he finally gets the courage to ask her out and confess his feelings, she is taken. And he will do whatever it takes to get her back.

Once safe and sound back in Blessings, Georgia, life just starts to get back to normal, but there is danger around the corner and it is coming for Ruby and Peanut. Can these two lovebirds weather the storm, or will their future be taken away before they have a chance to write it.

What I love about this series is that we get to see characters from books past, we learn how close knit the community of Blessings really is. There is a side story with a very poor family that is practically homeless, and when the little town of Blessings pulls together to help, it will bring a tear to your eye and put a smile in your heart. There is hints to a next installment in the Blessings, Georgia Series and I for one can not wait.

Displaying romance between ruby and peanut is good. Adding their town unity and description of involvement in each others life in happiness and tragedy makes this book interesting . And i felt their happiness and fear with them .even though there were twist and turns in plot it would be better if her past were kept secret until last and showed figuring out their feelings and insecurities throughout the book not giving every thing from the beginning. But the starting is was different and good existing. Overll compared to previous books i didn't enjoined this book

This book was so good! I've been waiting for Ruby and Peanut's story and it did not disappoint! I love how there were other story lines that weaved through it, and how we got to see people from previous books. If I could live in Blessings I would!

I really enjoyed this series and am so happy that we finally found out who Ruby’s secret admirer was ( although I had already guessed). While it’s a “softer” romance than most out there now a days I really appreciated that the hero and heroine were adults, not young kids. Even though the both faced troubles and the road to there HEA was not a straight one Ruby finally found true love. It was also nice to see true interaction between Ruby and the hero without jumping right into bed. It’s a great happy love story with a lot of familiar faces and a definitive reread.

Sharon Sala has been a favorite author of mine for more than 10 years. When she publishes a book, I read it.

The Color of Love is Sala's latest Blessings, GA book. I was excited to find it was about two of the most popular characters in the previous titles. It was wonderful to see Ruby and Peanut get their own story. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the first books!

It was great to return to Blessings and visit with the people in the town. This is Peanut and Ruby’s story but there are sub plots about others residents of Blessings. Ruby has overcome a lot in her life and she has a secret. A secret that has come back to haunt her. Peanut has been admiring Ruby from afar and they finally connect but there are problems coming for them. This is a book that has some violence in it but it is also about relationships. Relationships between Ruby and Peanut and also the people of Blessings, how a small town can come together to support others in need. I have to say this was not my favorite Blessings book but it was still a good read. I look forward to visiting Blessings again.

This book will capture your interest from the very first page and you won’t be able to put it down! Set in Blessings, our favorite small town, Ruby is confronted by her abusive ex-husband at the very beginning and the story never slows down at any point. This story keeps you on the edge of your seat with Ruby and Peanut’s romance, the secondary characters’ involvement, and the absolute suspense that only Sharon Sala can create. I’ve read almost all of Sharon Sala’s books and this is one of her best!
