I really enjoy Sharon Sala’s series about a small fictional town in Georgia with the appropriate name of Blessings. The inhabitants have the normal set of character flaws, but the majority of them are caring people who drop everything to help out someone in need. In every book in the series there seems to be a moment when someone needs help and the townspeople contribute groceries and clothes and whatever other help is needed to get that person over the hump. In past books, the woman marshalling all that aid is Ruby Dye, owner of the hair salon, Curl Up and Dye. Not only does she help others, but she issues cloaked insults to put an end to the cattiness and petty ugliness that some citizens demonstrate. When necessary, she issues the ultimate punishment - banishment from her hair salon, the source of town gossip as well as great cuts.

In the previous book, we saw that Ruby had a secret admirer leaving little presents for her and it was hinted that the man who loves her is the improbably named P. Nutt Butterman, the kindly lawyer we have also met in previous novels.

While their love for each other is declared relatively early in the book, they still have a tough road toward their ultimate HEA as Ruby’s sad past comes back to threaten them. Having already learned to like both these characters, you’ll be pulling for them every step of the way just like all the townspeople of Blessings do.

Sala’s books remind me a little of Jodi Thomas’s Ransom Canyon series as plots are interwoven about people finding a little bit of happiness in a small Texas town. The characters are not necessarily the typical hunky, hot guy and sexy woman, but rather people who seem ordinary and real and the types that you would wish to find in your own hometown. These are books that I already look forward to rereading.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of my favorite authors and my favorite series by her. This title is the 5th in the Blessings, Georgia series. Definitely recommended and good for readers of Debbie Macomber and Sherryl Woods.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. This book was surprisingly enjoyable. At first I thought it was very predictable and a romance/relationship had already been established. I like to watch a romance grow but I hung in there and the storyline did not disappoint. The author threw a lot of curveballs at Peanut and Ruby and they persevered through it all. It was a little hard not to laugh at the name peanut and get over all the overtold I love yous but I ended up enjoying this book. 3 1/2 stars

I love reading about Blessings and all the people in it. A warm moving romance between two slightly older people. Sharon Sala has created a community that takes care of each other and is full of interesting characters.

No Spoilers in this review.

What a sweet story! This book is about a 30 SOMETHING heroine and a 40 SOMETHING hero. It also is not a romance book that I typically read, although I love Sharon Salas books. So I thought I would read it in exchange for my honest opinion of the advanced copy of The Color Of Love I received.

I loved the H and h. Peanut (read this book to discover the origin of his name) and Ruby are mature, hard working and caring individuals who live in Blessings, Georgia. Both are involved with the lives of the residents and are loved by this little town. When an ex shows up unexpectedly, this town pulls together to protect its own. There is plenty of drama, but you also get to know the people of this town --- flaws and all.

Thank you for the journey. There are other Blessings, Georgia books before this 1, but this reads as a stand alone. Thank you, Sharon Sala for a beautiful book. I will definitely be reading the others in this series.

Sharon Sala is one of a few fiction authors that I enjoy. But I was rather disappointed with this title because I expect my heroes to have manly-sounding names. Peanut is NOT my idea of a manly name. Ha! I couldn't get past that.

I loved this book and the series that goes with it. Ruby and P. Nut Butterman are meant to be together they just didn't know it at first. Among the heartache and devastation, they find their way. What an amazing book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have read some of the other books in this series, but not all of them. The good part is that I don't think you need to read them in order to enjoy this book fully. While it deals with some heavy issues, it is very hopeful, and Blessings, GA is a place where good things happen to good people.

The story begins with Ruby Dye's past, which she has kept hidden, coming in and invading her life in a very terrifying way. When she is back home, the majority of the story centers around Ruby's brand new relationship with Peanut Butterman. There are a few other side stories, including one of a down-on-their-luck young family that are woven in.

Books like these make me long for a simpler life, in a small town and while I know that is not how it really is, it is what keeps me coming back for more!

The Color of Love is the fifth outstanding book in the Blessings, Georgia series written by author Sharon Sala. Another heartwarming story. It makes me want to live there. Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the advance copy.

Sharon Sala is one of my top selling authors in my bookstore. This book is part of the Blessings Ga series which I have loved. This is not my favorite book by her, it just seemed to drag. But I can't wait for the next book in this series. She has a way of dragging you into the story line and not letting go
