One More Promise by Samantha Chase is a well written, heartfelt read.
I enjoyed the storyline, it held my attention from the first page until the last and I loved watching Dylan and Paige slowly come together.
This was one of those reads once you start you don't want to put it down.

The Band on the Run series is turning out to be a very good read and I highly recommend it.

Living life in the shadows is not easy for most people. For Paige – working at her family’s PR firm is a constant reminder of just how much she resides in the shadow of her sibling. In spite of being the one that carries all of the weight at work, somehow Paige is constantly overlooked and pushed aside for her sister. A serious slap in the face when Paige is not recognized for the contributions that she has made for the business.

After rocking a serious promotion for a Literacy Now campaign, Paige once again found her project torn to shreds by Ariel. With the complete regrouping of ‘celebrities’ that Ariel chose to work on the project over Paige’s list, a rock star straight out of rehab arrives on the scene. Dylan Anders is a rocker at heart, and his recent stint in rehab has left him with community service hours that need to be fulfilled. With a desire to regroup and change his ways, Dylan is committed to helping the Literacy Now project in any way that he can.

With the job of head of the project now out of her hands, Paige has been assigned the task of ‘babysitting’ Dylan. While it is definitely not the ‘job’ Paige had imagined, Dylan is quite surprised that Paige has no clue who he is on the rock scene. A refreshing change of pace from the usual invasion of Dylan’s privacy. Paige decides that she wants to deviate from the constant undermining of Ariel, and decides to throw caution to the wind where Dylan is concerned. The only problem? Where will things lead once their campaign is over?

One More Promise is quite the refreshing spin on a rocker romance. The way Paige and Dylan cross paths is definitely a plus for this fan of the literacy world. The duo are complete opposites, and it makes for some really interesting encounters between the two characters. Dylan battles with his mistakes from the past, and that is prevalent in the way he is trying to straighten up his life. Paige has always gone ‘unnoticed’ where her family was concerned, and Dylan’s appearance in her life adds a spark that was very interesting to see blossom.

Overall – One More Promise was a lighthearted romance that had an interesting premise. A novel that can be read as a standalone, but is part of a series. While I enjoyed the tension, teasing, and romance that buds between Paige and Dylan, I am looking forward to uncovering more about each character in the band!! *Clears throat* It wouldn’t hurt to see a little more Daisy in future books as well!! A great book that gives a new ‘light’ to a rocker romance!!

I typically love Samantha Chase, but I didn't enjoy this book as much as some of her others. I liked Dylan, and I think the author captured his difficulties moving from the party lifestyle to a post-rehab life well. What I can't appreciate is a heroine who spends most of the book allowing her family to walk all over her, not standing up for herself and choosing to eat poorly because she feels bad about her life, What??

One More Promise, another a great story by Samantha Chase.
Dylan is the all around rock star bad boy until his life takes a turn for the worse and he checks into rehab. Once out he is determined to be the best person he can be. Paige pretty much runs the family PR firm and she worked so hard at cleaning up everyone else mess and getting no gratitude for it. Thankfully her sister makes changes to Paige's literacy campaign the brings her and Dylan together. I like that Dylan turned his life around and Paige finally stood up for herself with her family. I will say that I thought her dad was a real jerk and I was kind of glad he got his in the end.

Another fantastic The Shaughnessy Brothers Series book by Samantha Chase! I absolutely loved One More Promise!

~Reviewed by Evelyn~~

Samantha Chase returns to the world of rock music and leaves with another hit! ONE MORE PROMISE, the second novel in the Band on the Run series (an off-shoot of the very popular Shaughnessy Brothers series), follows extremely famous and good-looking Dylan Anders, bass player for the rock band Shaughnessy, and quiet, pretty Paige Walters, who works in her family’s marketing firm. They are thrown together when Paige creates a national literacy awareness campaign and Dylan, who is fresh out of rehab, signs on to improve his image and to pick up some community service hours.

Dylan is an interesting character. He seems to have one foot in two worlds. He’s been living the wild life of a famous rock star but now wants to try to leave that lifestyle behind for a more reasonable and normal life. He doesn’t, however, want to leave the band or the music behind, thus creating a conflict. Also, even though he no longer wants the crazy rock star lifestyle, the public and the press won’t let him forget that he will forever be a part of it, like it or not.

Dylan finds himself intrigued by Paige who lives in a world of books and is totally unimpressed by Dylan’s rock star persona. In fact, she is resentful that she is named his handler for the duration of the literacy campaign, especially since she wanted the campaign filled with famous authors, not the music and movie celebrities her sister/co-worker had in mind. Unfortunately, as always, her sister won out, and Paige once again finds herself losing the battle for her father’s respect and confidence. She really doesn’t want to be working for her father’s company, but she feels trapped and doesn’t know how to find the way out.

Truly the odd couple, their attraction at first is completely physical. Will they be able to see past the obvious at some point and find other things to draw them together, or will it be time to say goodbye at the end of the three-month literacy campaign?

Both Dylan and Paige are very likeable characters. Dylan could have been an arrogant jerk and Paige could have been a stuffy brainiac, but both were haunted by vulnerabilities that made them sympathetic. I enjoyed seeing the growth in each character as their story progressed. They both found strengths in themselves and each other that they didn’t know existed. It was especially fun to watch their growth as a couple as they overcame the stereotypes that they both seem to personify when they first met.

Dylan is supported by a cast of secondary characters that include his Shaughnessy band members and their manager, Mick, none of whom seemed to be living the stereotypical rock star life. As a fan of the entire Shaughnessy Brothers series, I was glad to have an update on Riley Shaughnessy and his family.

Paige was not so lucky in the secondary character support category. I liked her assistant Daisy who was hopelessly star-struck when it came to Dylan. It was difficult to like her clueless sister and self-absorbed father, however. If I were to change anything about this book, I would have liked to have seen the Walters family dynamics fleshed out a little more.

Congratulations Ms. Chase on another hit! Can’t wait for the next installment, not only for the new story, but for an update on Dylan and Paige.

Don’t you love it when a rocker falls in love? This isn’t the usual story of a rocker on the road that finds the woman of his dream. This is the story of a rocker fresh out of rehab looking to turn his life around. It’s about a woman trying to break away from her father’s hold to find herself and find the job that would truly make her happy. Paige and Dylan are both trying to find themselves and are falling in love with one another.

This book had me wanting more from the first chapter. There are ten LONG chapters might I add, but that didn’t stop me. You will become addicted to this one right away. This is yet another fun read that I’m glad I had during the winter freeze.

WOW!! I was blown away while reading One More Promise by Samantha Chase. Ms. Chase really knows how to create a loving story between two people who crave appreciation for what they accomplish; even a good job would have been nice. I think my favorite part of this book was Dylan realizing that there was so much more to Paige than her uptight, must get stuff done persona and when Paige realized that Dylan was no longer the party boy everyone thought he was but that there were so many more facets to him. These two understood each other and worked well together, her yin to his yang. I’m so glad these two were able to find love along the way, even if it meant standing up against Paige’s father and sister. The manner in which Ms. Chase created a group of friends supportive of each other, no matter how difficult things seem is also amazing.

Ms. Chase is a wonderful story teller, making me feel as if I was right there watching the action unfold as she drew me in, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the Band on the Run series.

Paige lives a life of rules, structure and safety. Dissatisfied with her job at her families PR firm, she struggles daily to be what they want her to be but can never measure up. When her sister steps into Paige’s latest project, despite screwing up some of the details, it actually ends up being the thing that will change Paige’s life. Instead of a literary genius, her sister has contracted a rock star to help push their new literacy campaign.

Dylan is a recovering alcoholic. Now that he’s got rehab behind him, he’s finding life has nothing to really offer him. His band is on hiatus and even if it weren’t, he’s not sure he’s ready to be thrown back into that life again. Nevertheless, he’s bored and looking for the something more that life might offer him. Due to a court mandate, he must serve community service and he soon finds himself in the company of Paige with her quirky way of dressing, her large framed glasses and her disregard for his star status.

I really enjoyed this story of Paige and Dylan. This was more of a character driven story rather than one led by drama or angst, and although there is just a tad, it isn’t the focal point of the book. I liked that this showed their relationship as true in that they both suffer from growing pains when learning to share their life with a significant other. Along the way, they each continue to seek out a way to make their professional lives more satisfactory even while blending it with their personal lives.

This is well written and never bogged down. The secondary characters were terrific, even Paige’s family that I wanted to smack a time or two. The chemistry was spot on even if there isn’t a lot of sexy times shared with the reader. I didn’t miss it because these characters were so real to me, I just had to know how things were going to work out for them.

This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and Sourcebooks.

Dylan was feeling restless. He hadn’t been out of rehab very long. His excessive drinking had put him there after he had an accident. After touring in his band Shaughnessy for years and then taking their time off to join other bands on their gigs it seemed odd to have nothing to do. He could look back on the last ten years of his life and realize while he loved playing the bass- loved the music- the lifestyle had almost killed him. Too many years drinking and partying too hard and he had paid the price. Dylan was at loose ends and he didn’t know what to do with himself. Dylan knew he wasn’t meant to live a quiet and tranquil life. Dylan knew he couldn’t keep living in isolation but he also couldn’t go back to his old haunts. Dylan looked at the Literacy campaign information Mick- the bands manager had brought over. From the look of the schedule Mick had included the entire thing would take about three months between the organization and planning phase and the actual campaign itself. There would be speaking engagements, commercial shoots, print ads it would fill his time and get him positively in the public eye- hopefully. Dylan read through all twelve pages and on the bottom of the last page was the contact person- Paige Walters. Paige was going to make a presentation on the status of the literacy campaign. It was her brainchild. Reading was Paige’s passion. Public relations, marketing, and promoting were in Paige’s blood. Her father owned a very successful PR firm and Paige worked for him-PRW- and Paige had been wondering i the office halls since she was a toddler. Now as one of the senior account managers and could pitch her brainchild campaign. Dylan went to Paige’s office as she was getting ready to leave. Her assistant Daisy was completely awed at seeing Dylan. Dylan found Paige in the garage. She had forgot to charge her car and had a flat tire Paige had left her office early to go to the grocery store then go home and relax and think about her campaign. Dylan took her to the grocery store she was gonna stop at since it would take two hours for AAA to get there to fix her tire Paige found Dylan attractive. Then Monday her dad said he called Literacy Now and they were all for Dylan but Paige had to more or less had to babysit him. Paige deeply resented that and thought about quitting now again she was just the member of the team and everything she had wanted would more or less be bypassed. Paige’s assistant Daisy handed her a revisal that her sister Ariel had doe on the people invited to the campaign. But Paige had already done the hard work - the research, booking photographers, and banquet spaces but Ariel was stepping in and taking the spotlight. Paige’s dad had always been blind to Ariel’s doings and was even worse now since Ariel’s announcement of being pregnant. Then Dylan came in angry but Paige explained how things were out of her hands now. Dylan was very attracted to Paige and several nights he had erotic dreams and Paige was the star.
I absolutely loved this book and loved the plot and pace of this book. This was a great easy romance to read. At times I choked up and at others I chuckled while reading this book. I absolutely loved Paige and Dylan together. I loved how both Dylan and Paige grew over the course of this book. I also loved how Dylan’s bandmates were like brothers to him and they as well as Mick Had Dylan’s back. I couldn’t find anything to criticize and that made me very happy. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

Thank you Samantha Chase for writing One More Promise - Best combination the importance of reading, role models and relationships. You will enjoy reading the story of Paige and Dylan. Both of them have to learn to believe in relationships, deal with family issues and listen to the music.

Dylan teaches us that we should never judge a book by its cover. He went through so much and goes on a wonderful journey in this book.
Samantha chase continues the Band on the Run series with Dylan’s story. Dylan is the bad boy rock star only to me it isn’t who he truly is. I think he does what he does because he is crying out for attention. He wanted to also numb his pain. He was successful and amazing but didn’t see himself as someone who anyone would care for. He drank to excess and was your typical stereotype of a rock star. Until he hits bottom and makes a change.
A change that he realizes is needed for himself. Now he wants to be a better version of himself. He knows it will be a struggle but a struggle he wants to go on. He makes changes. At first he hides out not wanting the temptation. Than he decides to remove the memories and start anew. He does a introspection of his past and sees the truth and doesn’t like it. Now he is taking control only he had some self doubt and doesn’t see the guy he really is. He is a smart, sweet, caring and understanding man. Passionate about music and talented as well. It is Paige that helps him see this. And his bandmates that give him in the end a reason to fight to keep his love alive.
Paige is a smart and capable woman. she has a complicated family life and it does cause her stress. To me her family keeps her confidence and belief in herself down. She is a pushover for them. Let’s her sister taunt her and use her so she can have peace of mind. Only it hurts her because her sister steals the thunder and takes credit for things she shouldn’t.
How do two seemingly different people yet both the same in questioning themselves come together? Paige is doing a campaign for Literacy (her sister does take control here to but is a complete idiot and Paige is the one running it but not getting the credit for it for it is expected of her). At first Dylan sees this as a way to get his community service done. than he meets Paige and is smitten. He is intrigued by her only she doesn’t see him as anything but a typical rock star. she judges him and isn’t very kind to him once she finds out about her past. She shames him. It does hurt Dylan and he finds a way to use it to his advantage.
Paige though is the one blown away by Dylan. SHe may not have wanted him at the beginning but they are good for each other. She does see the advantage to having him there. they are attracted to one another and you can feel it in the air around them. Only Dylan is trying to be opposite of what he was and fighting that attraction. He is kind to her and they have some engaging conversations that intrigue them but also get them to see how much they challenge and support one another. Dylan helps build her confidence and becomes her confidant. Paige helps Dylan see who he really is and gives him the confidence to believe in himself as well. The two give us a entertaining tale as they struggle with their feelings and themselves to be together. When they come together at first it was because of a misunderstanding due to Dylan’s past. Over time that becomes more and a fight for them to keep. Not because of their feelings but outside forces. It is those outside forces that comes close to tearing them apart. ONly Dylan with the help of his bandmates figures out what is worth fighting for love and himself because they show him he is worth it and Paige showed him this as well.
A tender entertaining story. The characters have you engaged and are likeable. Told from Dylan and Paige’s view and it gives a complete picture of what is going on in their lives and their hearts. We get tender moments like after the party, sexy moments and intimate moments when they confide in one another. their struggles are real and how they support each other and lift each other up is written in a very real and wonderful way. The journey to self discovery and self worth is seamlessly written into the story and becomes a part of their love for one another. They understand each other and help break down barriers each has and sees beyond the outside to what the other really is- a great, caring and loving person that loves, supports and respects one another.

I have read a couple of books by Samantha Chase, and I was drawn to the idea of a character who was just starting to put his life back together after some bad decisions. The slightly broken, but on the mend hero, is always appealing as they feel human and it's easier to gain a connection with that hero than some other more "perfect" romantic heroes. In this case, I really connected with Dylan, I felt like I understood him and related to him.

I really liked the parts of the book that focused on Paige and Dylan. I liked their chemistry and I liked how real their relationship felt. I also liked, oddly, that Paige was written (at least initially) as a bitch. She was really judgmental, she makes assumptions about Dylan, and I enjoyed the glimpses of the personality of both of them that are given through these interactions.

I was not as thrilled with the secondary characters, particularly Paige's family, and there were times that I felt they were a little unrealistic. I get the idea that they needed to have that connection, but I had a hard time believing a lot of the situations that resulted from those characters.

I recommend this title.

Full of emotion and family drama comes another winner from Ms. Chase. Paige Walters has everything and nothing as she struggles to win her father's love and make a place for herself in the family PR business. Just when she finally feels she's holding the winning hand, her sister interferes introducing rock n roll bad guy Dylan Anders to upset the applecart. Get ready for fireworks and tears before it all comes together for a smooth finish.
The very successfully Shaughnessy Brothers band is on a hiatus as the members take a much needed break from a series of concerts. Dylan Anders has battled with addiction and excess for some time. His bandmates and agents stage an intervention checking him into rehab where he gets the chance for self discovery. Now fresh out of rehab he needs a stint of community service to work off his debt to society as well as a platform to polish up his tarnished image. Paige Walter's Literacy Project seems to be the perfect answer.
Paige is vehemently opposed to allowing the so very sexy Dylan Anders to wreck her pet project but bows to pressure from her father and sponsors. Definitely not a great start to a relationship. However Dylan slowly but slowly worms his way into Paige's graces especially given his own personal story about his struggle to read which strikes a strong emotional note for Paige.
The intense sexual chemistry definitely raises the heat level as the two explore. Can two emotionally damaged people lower their final defenses and admit to a relationship that goes beyond the phenomenal sex? It's going to take some strong arm techniques, a couple of interventions from their friends in order to deliver the happy ending but it does all come together rather nicely I must say.
There's one more band member left to go. Given the glimpses that we get into his life in this book I can't wait to read his story.

Paige Walters works in her family business, a successful public relations firm. They have been hired to remake the image of bad boy, just out of rehab, rocker Dylan Anders. Paige’s passion besides her job and reading is Adult Literacy. These two seeming opposites collide when her father and sister decide Dylan would be a perfect spokesperson for the literacy campaign. She is pretty much horrified that this fallen idol, whom she will have to work closely with, will represent something so important to her. Initially Paige dislikes Dylan intensely, but as they work together things heat up between them. Dylan’s downward spiral to substance abuse and his rehab stint made him realize that if things did not change, he might not survive. Dylan is determined to clean up his act understanding he has been given a chance. Being a rock musician certainly makes that quite a challenge with all the old temptations still around.

Paige is likeable heroine with admirable qualities; however, the way she lets her family boss her around taking while extreme advantage is very frustrating. Her father and sister always take credit for Paige’s hard work and yet, she never complains. As Dylan reinvents his life, he and Paige find common ground and a way to help each other despite their seemingly very different lifestyles. Fans of Ms. Chase’s The Shaughnessy Brothers will enjoy this story from the spin off series Band On The Run.

One of my favorite things is watching an author push themselves. I know a lot of readers are used to the family aspect with Samantha Chase books. I love how she was able to incorporate the rockstar aspect, while still keeping a lot of the trademark family wholesomeness that her readers are used to.

I loved Dylan's character from the very first page. My favorite aspect to him is that while he is a reformed bad boy, he was already in the process of making changes in his life. It's not like he met a girl and then boom, his whole life changes. I think for the characters to be in a really believable relationship, we have to see them taking care of themselves. I know this might be a minor piece to some readers, but I appreciated it.

Paige's character really endeared herself to me. Paige is strong and confident and intelligent. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have insecurities or doubt herself from time to time. I loved that I got to see her strong and also vulnerable side. It made her come to life to me and I was able to relate to her a lot.

The relationship between Dylan and Paige is probably one of my favorite ones from this author. I liked how from the start, you can see a spark between them. It's not insta-love or anything like that. It's just a true curiosity and chemistry that grows between them. They try to resist but you can't deny your true feelings.

Another aspect I appreciated in this story was the growth of the actual characters. Both have their own family and personal issues that they are dealing with. I think it goes to show that you no one has a "perfect" life and we all have to deal with our issues at some point or another to be able to move forward.

This is my first Samantha Chase book, and I enjoyed it. It was a romantic story with a happily ever after. I will definitely check out more of her books!

I enjoyed the book, but not as much as I wanted. I was a bloodthirsty creature wanting to see Ariel getting what she deserved. Well, she did, but I wanted something a little more cruel to happen. And we never found out if she was indeed pregnant. I also hated Paige's father. He was a bad person and I hated how he treated her. I am happy to see him almost destroyed. I was almost satisfied with the way Dylan and Paige confronted them.

Speaking of Paige, I have to say that I liked her. She was a good person and a bookworm like me. She doesn't have a backbone at first, but slowly she becomes stronger and she is able to fight for what she wants and I liked that. As you might know, I don't expect always character development, but I always love it when I see it and give extra points to the book. Dylan was a good hero. After his rehab, he is a changed man and it's for the best. I loved him. From the secondary characters, I liked Dylan's band, Daisy who I hope will get a book and Kathy. I hated Ariel and her father as I mentioned above, but these were the only two who were bad.

The book was good. The characters were to my liking, the plot was good even if I was frustrated with all the changes Ariel was making and the main couple had a great romance. I loved that Paige didn't even think of blaming Dylan for what happened to them and how she didn't doubt him. I am happy I read this book and I would definitely recommend it.

Imagine a person full of talent but who is constantly sabotaged by her own sister? This is Paige Walters' dilemma.
Working in the family PR firm, she wants to show her value, but it becomes difficult every day.
Until the opportunity arises to work on a project that could show everyone how talented she is.
For that, she would have to be close to Dylan, a rock star, ex-Rehab, in Literacy Now - although Paige at first had no idea how famous Dylan was.

This for Dylan was refreshing.
He needed some time before going back to the madness that was his life on stage, and working on this project with Paige was heaven.
Add to this, for him, to be always close to her (even if she did not look exactly what would make Dylan's head turn to look twice) was better than anything.

While Paige helped him deal with this turbulent return, he helped her see her own worth, her talent, even if her family was constantly deceived by her sister, Ariel.

A story about self-knowledge, choices and love.
