I had never read anything from this author before, so I wasn't too sure what to think going into it. I just knew the blurb sounded like a lot of fun, so I wanted to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I literally could not put this down!

I really enjoyed this one! I read the first in the series several months ago, so I was familiar with the characters. I enjoyed Amber's snark and I thought Ethan was a well-thought out character. All in all, a good read!

I thoroughly enjoyed Amber, she made me laugh out loud. Ethan was sweet. I lost focus in the middle of the book and had to make myself keep reading. It picked up in the end.

Amber Jones is in a pickle. And when I say pickle, I mean deep do-do. She knew she shouldn’t have gone to her ex’s New Year’s Eve party. And she reeeaally didn’t mean to almost burn down his house. It was the chafing dish’s fault, dang it! Now she needs a good lawyer, stat. But where to find one?

All work and no play make Ethan Vaughn a very sad and lonely lawyer. Not to mention horny. He really shouldn’t have agreed to help his best friend’s wife’s bestie with her imbroglio. Now she’s remanded on bail––and living in his house. The woman is a walking, talking category five hurricane. And considering his track record with women, he needs to stay as far away from this one as possible. Problem is, he just can't seem to make himself.

Heads up folks, this little heroine has a propensity for prolific profanity. Our girl's got a potty mouth and strong opinions. If you are easily offended, this book is not for you. If you have delicate nerves, this book is not for you. If you are under 18, this book is definitely not for you. Consider yourself warned.

I loved the first book by Dangelico. In fact, I went on and on about that book and couldn't give enough stars. This book, however, had me shaking my head and scratching it at the same time. Don't get me wrong...I LOVED the characters and the premise. I even loved the story that was told, but I didn't love the inconsistencies of the characters of Ethan and Amber. There were some sex scenes in this once they started having sex at like 70% but then they didn't really add up to the characters. Ethan turned into a kinky dude who was demanding? I just see it. Amber, I could see being that way and being demanding, but Ethan....just no. I loved this book - don't get me wrong. I just didn't love it as much as the first book. I hope that it also has several rounds of editing before it goes to press. I didn't take off anything for that because I know when you're given an ARC you're agreeing that it's not proofed and this book needed it...with a red marker. What I love about the author is her sense of humor and her one-liners because some of them are abso-freaking-lutely hilarious!!! Overall, this book for me was worth the time and effort and I will automatically have this author on my TBR list right at the top!!!

I was given an ARC from the publisher/author/NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

Aaaaand 5 stars go to... Amber Jones and Ethan Vaughn... aka Fancy McButterpants, Fancy Pants, His Holy Fanciness, Tommy McPervertpants, Typhoid Mary... I could go on.

No surprise. I knew without a doubt that I would love this book when I read the blurb. Even before that, actually, when I learned that it was going to be centered around two of the most amazing romance sidekicks ever. And I wasn't disappointed - I got everything I wished for and even more.

This was absolutely beautiful. Funny, sexy, sweet, emotional and empowering, revolving around two main characters that are so different from but perfect for one another.
No-filter Amber with her potty mouth, lots of sass and a gigantic attitude, but with a heart to match.
Sweet, intense Ethan who, deep down, isn't really the laid-back charmer we've gotten to know in Wrecking Ball, but so much more.

Paola Dangelico knows exactly how much heartbreak, comic relief and angst to add in order to create an engaging, easy but oddly profound read that tore on my heartstrings with ease, only to make me burst out laughing the next minute.

I'm so happy I found this series. And one more author to add to my one-click list, for that matter.

This book is hard NOT to love. I was hooked right from the start. I love snark, and Amber is perhaps the snarkiest heroine I've encountered. I laughed so hard I cried at some of the things she thought and said. It takes a special kind of man to put up with such a strong, independent gal, and Ethan is the perfect guy for the job. I wanted these two to get together so bad, and I thought I would go insane from the slow burn. With that being said, this was the sweetest slow burn ever. Typically, if the two main characters aren't together by mid-book, I grow impatient and start skimming. Not so here. I was captivated by the story throughout--all parts of the story--and the build-up is almost as satisfying as the HEA. There was a moment toward the end when I thought the HEA wouldn't happen, or that I would be left hanging, and I was filled with dread. Then the magic happened. Good grief...all I can say is that this new-to-me author has mad talent.

The first book I read of this author ' Wrecking ball' was great. But this one is even better!
I had already pre-ordered the book, when I saw the ARC on Netgalley and I never clicked the request button faster.

Amber is the best friend of Camilla (bk 1) and when she lands in jail on New Year's Eve she is not really happy to find Camilla has sent Ethan Vaughn to bail her out (Ethan being a lawyer and her husband's best friend). Amber is being released in Ethan's personal custody so she moves in with him for the next couple of months. They develop a friendship but there is an obvious slowburn (love slowburn). I had to wait for over 70% in for the sexy times :-) but it was worth it!

At first I did not know what to make of Amber, but I soon realized how deep her mother's rejection when she was a child has affected her. Ethan Vaughn is not a real alpha male. He is hot and sexy and I loved the obvious clues that he is into Amber. I enjoyed the storyline and never got bored. And let me tell you: I LOVED the end (sucker for grand gestures ha ha ha). First my heart was ripped out and then everything was so good I felt the butterflies.

This ends up on my favorite shelf! I highly recommend.

I read the first book in this series and was blown away by P Dangelico's fresh voice and engaging characters. When I saw this book available on NetGalley I was drawn to the cover (deep as a puddle, me) and googled the author - when I realised I'd read and loved the first book it was a no-brainer for me.

Sometimes second books show that the first book was a flash in the pan, not this one it's just as good and I loved it just as much.

Amber Jones is Cam's best friend from the first book. She's a struggling actress working as a bartender in New York. Her ex invites her to his parents' house for their New Years Eve party where she is blind-sided by his announcement of his engagement to another actress. Things get out of control and Amber might have accidentally almost burned the house down. When her ex's parents start shouting that she did it deliberately Amber is arrested and taken to the police station. Imagine her surprise when Fancy McButterpants (aka Ethan Vaughn, Cam's husband Calvin's best friend) turns up to bail her out. Ethan is a sports lawyer and a thorn in Amber's side ever since they met. He's a bit like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way, perfectly coiffed, perfectly dressed, perfect face, perfect body, always perfectly turned out - unlike Amber.

At Amber's bail hearing she is only allowed out on bail if she agrees to stay with a responsible individual, step forward Fancy. When she gets to Ethan's home Amber is shocked to discover that inside the fancy apartment is a building site and Fancy (as she insists on calling him) likes to do a bit of remodelling, using a sledgehammer, in his spare time.

Amber is snarky and funny. She has a scary collection of B.O.Bs (battery-operated boyfriends) and a humorous collection of T-shirts. Ethan eats mainly from Wholefoods and is corporate competence through and through. But as the two of them forge a strange relationship while they wait for Ethan's criminal lawyer colleague to make the charges against Amber go away Amber realises that the real Ethan is even better than she knew.

This is funny, heart-warming and Ethan is my new book boyfriend, although I also want Amber to be my BFF so that could be awkward. Thoroughly recommended.

P. Dangelico is a new author to me, but as soon as I read the synopsis for Sledgehammer, I just had to read it! It sounded like what happened to Amber with her ex is something that could happen to me and us people with not-so-good luck have to stick together - plus it sounded pretty funny and I love to laugh so it was a win-win either way. I can't tell you glad I am that I found Sledgehammer because I positively LOVED it! It was amazing and I could NOT get enough!

I'm talking about Ethan first because the book is told from Amber's point of view and I feel like I know her better, but that doesn't mean I loved Ethan any less. He is truly a wonderful guy; he's generous and nice and giving. He's possessive and protective and jealous at times, but in the best ways. Ethan is so sweet, but that man is full of surprises and he's not always sweet, but you'll love what I mean by that. I would have liked to get Ethan's point of view simply because I always like hearing from the hero, but I fell in love with him anyway - I couldn't not fall in love with him, he's so great!

Although I wanted Ethan's perspective, on the other hand I'm glad that we didn't because I absolutely loved being in Amber's head - she is just the best! She's tough and blunt and a smart aleck, but has a soft side too. She's funny and a boss and I want to be her when I grow up. I just loved Amber - it's as simple as that, but I do have a ton of love for her because she's awesome!

Just like I have ton of love for Amber, I have a ton of love for this book! As soon as I started reading Sledgehammer, I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. I stayed up practically all night reading it because I didn't start it until pretty much the end of the day, silly me, and I wanted to know what was going to happen next all the time. It's been awhile since a book has done that to me and Sledgehammer was exactly the book I needed right now. It made laugh and cry, smile and grin and warmed my heart and melted it. It was utterly spectastic and I can't wait to read more from P. Dangelico!

Sledgehammer can be read as a standalone, it's told from Amber's point of view and Ethan and her do get their happily-ever-after.

If you loved Cam and Shaw's story you are going to LOVE Amber and Vaughn! I adored the spunky Amber in Cam's story and loved getting more of her brand of kooky. Ethan....can we just say yummm! If you are looking for laughs, some lusty moments and a sweet story look no further! This author has yet again delivered a story with characters that suck you in and don't let go!

This book was so so, just not what I expected. I was expecting some laughs and maybe Amber to drive Ethan a little crazy and thats not how this book was at all. It was well written but I just did not like Amber's personality. Being as the book is from her POV only well it was hard for me to like it.

Essentially she becomes Ethan's roomate in his big house. They sorta start as adversaries and then become friends. I just did not feel the heat amd I felt the things she did and said were tacky rather than funny. I might have liked the story more if I knew Ethan''s thoughts but without it I just did not like this story.

The verdict is in , people. I loved it!

You absolutely have to read this book, its was freaking fantastic. Amber is my spirit animal. I loved her. I haven't laughed/smiled so much in a while, my facial muscles ache, way to cure my disuse athrophy.

I used to think MZ was the only queen of slow burn but PD is trying to prove me wrong with this book. Amber was such a strong character, she was witty, had a backbone and didn't take a nonsense from anyone. Ethan was just the cutest, he was this sexy carebear and I'm claiming him as my book boyfriend(called first dibs :D).

I was really iffy about picking this one up because I vaguely remember reading the first one and then after seeing my note I remember I was miffed about the similarities with one of my favourite book by MZ, so yea, didn't enjoy it that much but this, you just have to read. I really can't gush enough about this book.

Not to forget the sex scenes, Ethan was...whew

Thanks Netgallery and PD for approving this arc because I would have missed this beaut and I would have been none the wiser
