Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately it is not the book for me. I couldn’t make it past 10%.

An extremely violent book Difficult to read in parts. It is a well written book made up of a number of stories which all link together. The topic would not be for everybody but there is nothing wrong with the pace of the narrative or the quality of the writing.

This is a harsh book to read and it does stay with you for a while. Not for the feint of heart at all.
Thanks to Net Galley for my copy.

I had never heard of this book or author when i requested this title on Net Gallery but it sounded like my kind of book.
Described as a dark surprise that is intense, emotional and violent, this book certainly lived up to that.
Some of it made uncomfortable reading as it includes under-age sexual references, rape and torture so it certainly isn't for everyone.
But it is well written, it keeps building in horror and suspense right up until the very last page. Once i started reading it i just couldn't put it down.
This book will take you through all sorts of emotions, horror, fear, happy, sad and possibly shed a tear or too!
The story of two sisters on holiday in Italy. The younger sister is murdered and the older is taken by two men.
One treats her well, considering the circumstances whilst the other can only be described as a human monster. The girl is to be trained, to be sold to the highest bidder.
But somehow she finds herself attracted to her captor. Stockholm Syndrome does exist. But is her abductor really who he says he is?
Be warned, this book will keep you up all night!
Despite some of the horrific content this book really is brilliant and this is a book you could read more than once without loosing any of the appeal and addictiveness.
Mercy Cortez is an author worth watching out for!

The Abducted Series: The Novel by Mercy Cortez.
I looked at the man in front of me, he didn't look scary or threatening, to anyone else he looked harmless. He had a wide white smile that could make any girl melt, he had shaggy long blonde hair and innocent baby blue eyes. His Australian accent added to his worldly charm. He looked like a sweet and kind surfer but with a jaw gripped tight that showed anger. I looked down at the blade gripped in his palm and the blood dripping from the edges. His face read that of almost sorrow, but only almost. I looked at the floor, my voice lost in a scream. I glanced down at her soft cheeks, her auburn hair and her still green eyes. She wasn't blinking, she wasn't breathing. I saw the crimson red spread from her cut throat all over the Italian marble floor. It seeped into the cracks. This girl, this fifteen year old girl with blood staining her favourite floral dress... She couldn't be my sister, I wouldn't believe it. I foolishly thought this would be the worst day of my life.
That was the day I was taken, that was the day I met Draco.
OMG. What a read. I felt so many emotions reading this book. Gripping and disturbing read. 5*. Netgalley and xpresso books tours.

Emotional overload-investment of my emotions at a truly unreal level. I knew nothing about this read when I requested it from NetGalley. So going in blind (which was a good thing) I had no others opinion to way my thoughts. This isn't a pretty start to a book at times it was scary sad but that leads you to the important topic at hand. This read isn't for everyone, IF YOU have triggers do no read.

I really enjoyed book 1. Non-stop from page one to finish and I was looking forward to see what happened in the next book.
5 stars for this book

Book 2 was another page turner. I don't want to spoil anything, but someone does happen to die, and rather than guessing how this person died, it would have been nice to have been given the exact details just to confirm my assumptions. Maybe something happened with the editing? It just seemed strange to me that there wasn't a proper description.
4 stars for book 2

Book 3 is another quick page turner in the series. It was nice to see all the characters intertwined in some way. That bonus chapter was just what I needed. There is also absolutely no reason why this book should be banned. I can't see any reason why.
4 stars for book 3

All in all, a very good series which I would love to be expanded into a full length novel. It just went too quick for me.

**Please note that this story-line contains violence and some non-consensual sexual activity. This includes reference and some in depth discussion/imagery of battery, under-age sexual references, rape, torture and murder. This is not an exclusive list - You have been warned**

This is basically the story of two sisters vacationing in Italy. The younger sister is murdered, the older is taken by two men. One treats her kindly, under the circumstances, the other is a human monster. The girl is to be trained, to be sold to the highest bidder.

Aimee won't go down without a fight ... and fight she does. But she finds herself attracted somewhat to her captor. Stockholm Syndrome does exist. But is her abductor really who he says he is?

It's a dark read, graphic, violent, and emotional.

Many thanks to the author / Mercy Cortez / Netgalley for the digital copy. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
