Great book!! If you love RomCom books then definitely pick this book up.

Kiersten is Cole Harrington’s personal assistant and pretty much at his beck and call. Anytime, anywhere she needs to be there for him and does her job to perfection…..until she wins the lottery. She was on the verge of quitting her job when she decided to have a little fun and have revenge on her demanding boss and turn the tables. The antics and tricks that she plays on him and to see a lot of them backfire were too funny. Cole finds out that she is trying to get fired and decides to see just how far she will take things. That is when they come to realize that there is an attraction between them.

This book was well written. Super funny. The back and forth between the two kept you interested and they definitely had great chemistry. I loved the characters, including all of the secondary ones, they really enhanced the story. I would love to see this made into a movie. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Kierston falls into her demanding PA job, then wins the lottery. Her boss Cole has a reputation of firing every assitant so when Kierston takes the position the office pool starts. It doesn't take him ing to find out about. Let the games begin, he wants her to suit and she wants him to fire her. I was cracking up watching them run circles around each other and one upping each other.
If you are looking for a fast cute, funny, romantic read this is it!

So. Much. Fun.

The blurb promises a fun ride and Kira Archer delivers in 69 Million Things I Hate About You.

If you are a loyal reader of my reviews or just happen to visit every once in a while, you probably know how much I read. It’s almost on par with breathing. Blurbs are the tantalizing seductresses for books. They have to do a good job for you to read the book. Sometimes they are dead wrong. Sometimes they mislead. Sometimes they make promises they can’t keep. And sometimes they get it just right. This is one of those cases.

Kiersten needs her job so she’s been working diligently for Cole Harrington after he sacked his last assistant for wanting to attend her wedding. Yes, he’s a little over-the-top and demanding, but Kiersten has gotten used to it. If only he’d remember her real name.

When she and her roommates win the lottery, all bets are off. Kiersten decides to do everything she can to make Cole fire her.

Cole finds out that there’s a pool as to when he will fire Kiersten and decides to see what he can do to make her quit instead.

The problem I’ve found with books like this is that they usually start great. There’s a fun bet and maybe an instance or two where the main characters act up and then it dies a slow agonizing death. I was fairly certain that’s what would happen here. BUT IT DIDN’T!!! You don’t know how happy that made me.

Kiersten does things that are totally out of character and my reaction was: oh my god, she just did that. Her reaction was: OMG, I just did that. You’ve got to love this! For most of the novel, the pace is laugh-out-loud, frenetic fun.

Kiersten and Cole have chemistry amidst all of the antics. Both are extremely likable characters too. Cole can be a jerk; he’s certainly shown this to be true, but the reader sees that he’s a good guy. A lovable guy!

Cole’s best friend, Brooks, is soooo funny. With a little more booktime, these guys would definitely be Bromance material.

Right now, 69 Million Things I Hate About You is $.99. If you need a diversion, some laughs, a little sweetness and steam, this will do it. It’s well-written, page-turning fun.

OMG, I loved this story and am so happy to discover it is the start of a new series from this talented author! Just imagine winning 69 million dollars in the lotto . . . . what would you want to do first? Well, whilst waiting for the money to be sorted, PA Kiersten Abbott decides to get her revenge on her boss and mayhem results! Her boss is billionaire Cole Harrington and he’s so used to having his own way that he actually sacked his previous PA when she refused to reschedule her wedding which was due to happen the next day. Kiersten is used to getting everything sorted for him - from scheduling his appointments, sorting out what he’ll wear and when (even his underwear!), and being available at the end of her company mobile 24/7 to do his bidding. Now she’s going to rebel, with help from her two best friends and fellow lotto winners, that game is on! When he discovers the office staff are betting on how long it will be till he sacks her he decides to see how far he can push her until she quits, but he doesn’t know about the lotto win yet!

This is a laugh out loud, hilarious romantic comedy that I thoroughly enjoyed. She does nothing detrimental to his business or employees but some of the antics are superb. There are brilliant secondary characters, too - especially the best friends of the main characters and I hope those five will have their stories told in future books in this series. If you’re looking for a light-hearted romance with great characters, lively, witty humour and highly entertaining then grab yourself a copy of this fantastic, fun, sweet read and be prepared to enjoy yourself!

I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Cole Harrington shows exactly what kind of boss he is from the very beginning when he plans to fire his assistant for not rescheduling her wedding so she can attend a conference with him. He's demanding, does nothing but work, and is quite a jerk. But the pay is fantastic and that's what Kiesten needs. He may be nice to look at but there's not much nice about his personality. When Kiersten wins 69 million dollars in the lottery, she decides to exact her revenge on her demanding boss and find out how far she has to go to get fired. What follows is a game of one-upmanship that kept me in hysterics during the entire story.

I loved everything about this book. Yes, Cole is demanding. No, he's not a great boss. But his POV was my favorite. He genuinely doesn't seem to understand why an assistant would want revenge or why his previous assistant just couldn't change her wedding. He doesn't seem malicious, just insanely clueless. The game these two play was so entertaining that I kinda didn't want it to end. Once they moved forward with the unbelievable chemistry between them, I was pulling for them to make it. This story kept me on my toes and laughing out loud from start to finish.

“I thought this was against the rules,” she said, her voice catching in her throat.
“When it comes to you, I don’t seem to care about the rules.”

Believe me when I tell you, I NEEDED this book. 69 Million Things I Hate About You ripped from not just a book funk, but a LIFE funk.

TBH, I didn’t even feel like reading. Not just this particular book, but any book. I was miserable, grumpy and fairly certain I was going to hate any-and-every thing I picked up.

WRONG. I was W. R. O. N. G. And I’ve never been happier to be so. 69 Million Things I Hate About You is laugh-out-loud funny, a delightful and feel good romance if ever there was one. Kiersten and Cole play off (and with) each other so well, it’s impossible not to be charmed by their antics; this coming from someone who typically cringes at pranks.

This book checked off all the boxes for me, and reminded me once again of why I so enjoyed the writing of Kira Archer. Her words are sweet and joyful, her books winning each and every time… even when your mood is dire.

(PS I really, really hope we get books for Cole’s billionaire buddies. I loved their interactions, and Brooks in particular needs a good, strong, sassy woman to tame him. Like Kiersten, but, you know, not taken by his best friend.)

'No matter what happened now, a little piece of her would belong to him forever. He’d shattered her world and rebuilt it, one kiss, one touch, one stroke at a time.'

4.5 Stars

When Kiersten Abbott hits the winning numbers on the lotto she has 69 million things to be thankful for, and one of them is not having to work for her demanding boss any longer. But, after six months of doing everything for him, she can't resist just a little bit of payback...

Cole Harrington is perplexed by his reliable assistants sudden change in attitude... until he finds out about the office pool going around...

May the best man... or woman win...

I loved this book! It was a light, fun and highly entertaining read! Kiersten puts up with a lot from Cole, and once she lets go and starts her payback she isn't pulling any punches. Cole is a total workaholic, and is too busy to even run his own life. So when his assistant starts to revolt it should be the worst thing for him... except that it's not when Kiersten is involved.

With Kiersten's very big secret between them and Cole's distrust of relationships and getting close to someone just to find out they're after his money, these two have an uphill battle... if they can ever get past their severe sexual tension...

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

The synopsis for this was right up my alley and I’ve enjoyed other books from Kira, so I was pretty excited about it.

I really liked Kiersten and Cole. Their relationship is interesting, especially after the pool begins and it was fun seeing how things played out. I especially loved everything with his mother. Kiersten and Cole had an excellent rapport with great banter and most of all, respect and chemistry.

Plot wise, it was nearly all fluff and it was perfect. There is a bit of conflict towards the end, but it isn’t drawn out and I loved how it ended. As always, I would have liked to have a bit more at the end or had an epilogue, but it was satisfying.

Overall, it was a quick and fun read. I’m hoping there will be more to this because Kiersten’s friends and Brooks were fun.

I loved it. I loved, loved, loved this book. It was laugh-out-loud funny; it was exactly the right mix of fantasy (come on, who actually wins the lotto?) and wish fulfillment and revenge and romance. Kiersten (Kestin, Krispin, etc...) puts up with SO much shit from Cole, at first because he's got his head so far up his ass he can't find it with both hands and a floodlight, and then because he just wants to break her composure. When she turns her hand to getting him back - it's priceless.
This is the book I want to buy for all my girlfriends. This is the book I wish I'd had to read when I was 25 and working in a soulless long-term temp job as a sales assistant for a fat, arrogant insurance company president. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series, but I don't know how they can ever live up to this lovely little book vacation.

Kiersten Archer is fed up with her boss, billionaire Cole Harrington. Like all billionaire CEOs, he's rude, thoughtless, hard-working, and extremely hot (which a billionaire ought to be if at all possible). So when Kiersten and her girlfriends hit the lottery, she doesn't quit her day job right away. She decides to have a little fun and make him fire her.

Cole is confused about why his enormously competent assistant is now talking back and making silly mistakes. When he happens into the office Google Doc taking bets on when he'll fire her, he decides to play along.

Yes, it's the plot of 10 Things I Hate About You. You know what, though? It's not bad. Kira Archer avoids a lot of cliches that would trip up lesser writers. Kiersten has girlfriends, but no conveniently catty rival. Cole is cartoon-villain rude (his previous assistant quit when he demanded she work rather than take time for her wedding), but limits it to that one particular relationship. Even the final conflict in the way of the Happily Ever After is pitched at just the right level of stakes. Kiersten goes too far and Cole is rightly upset about the whole thing. It works.

Despite all this, 69 Million Things probably won't make it into my regular rotation of pick-me-up reads. Kiersten isn't an interesting heroine. Cole is an eye-rollingly generic hero. (Really? He's a billionaire because of an app? What's the app? It's gotta be more Facebook than Angry Birds, but we don't know what it is. Handwaving the self-made billionaire under 30 thing strains credulity just a wee bit too far.)

I wasn’t expecting to like 69 Million Things I Hate About You as much as I did. I was in the mood for a light, funny romance after reading some books that were good but had a heavier subject. When I saw that it was about a personal assistant stays to exact revenge on her boss after winning the lottery, I had to read it. I am glad that I did because I laughed the whole time I read it.

69 Million Things I Hate About You is about Kiersten, a personal assistant to Cole, her boss who makes her life hell. Kiersten and her roommates hit the lottery one night. Kiersten’s gets 69 million dollars. That leaves Kiersten in a place where she can quit her job. She decides that before quitting, she will exact revenge on Cole and try to get him to fire her. But Cole is amused by Kiersten’s antics and he decides that he is going to see how far he can push her before she quits. What they don’t expect is the immediate attraction to each other.

Kiersten cracked me up. The revenge antics that she came up with had me rolling. They started off little, like not answering her phone when Cole called. Then they moved up to middle-sized when she got drunk with his mother, took her to a strip club and got arrested. But the final one was hilarious. Taking 5 billionaires to Amish country on a vacation and stranding them there for 5 days. The only antic that I didn’t find funny was when she misplaced the permit for a charity that is close to Cole’s heart. I thought that it was very petty of her. The only reason she didn’t send for the permits to be sent out is that there was a woman’s name on it. I was like “really” and did an eye roll. That is the only part of the book I didn’t like.

Cole came across as a jerk in the beginning of the book. He expected the personal assistant before Kiersten to reschedule her wedding in to go with him on a business trip. Which gave me a giggle because he was so nonchalant about it after the fact. His reactions to Kiersten not being herself was hilarious. He didn’t know what to do with her. Well, that was until he found the online betting pool and decided to up the ante. From that point on, I was laughing my butt off at his reactions to Kiersten’s antics. They were great.

I did an eye roll when it was revealed that Cole didn’t have relationships because women were after him for his money. Which is why he wanted a prenup before he started a relationship. That was a first for me to read. A man wants a prenup before he starts a relationship. Forget getting married, sign it early on. I also didn’t understand why he flipped out on Kiersten for not telling him that she won the lottery. That made no sense to me.

Sex between Cole and Kiersten didn’t happen until almost the end of the book. The author did do a great job at building up the sexual tension so when they did have sex, it was an explosion. What I did like is that the sex happened towards the end of the book. If they had sex earlier, that it would have derailed the book. So yeah, no sex until the end of the book worked here.

I do feel that there was no personal relationship between Cole and Kiersten. The book couldn’t convince me that they would actually enjoy being in a relationship. That is the only complaint about the book.

The end of the book was a typical HEA. I can’t wait to read book 2!!

I enjoyed reading 69 Million Things I Hate About You. This book reminded me of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. This book has a great plot. It also has characters that make you laugh until you cry.

I had so much FUN reading this book I was not ready for it to end. I laughed my way through it until I cried. Fresh characters who are easy to like and get to know and ones you want to know more of and hope to find in future books. Kiersten gets promoted and as Cole's executive assistant she is now at his beck and all 24 hours a day or at least that is what he thinks and demands. She and her roommates win the Lotto and now they no longer need to work but what starts as a drunk text turns into an all out competition to see who will win the Termination Pool and when she will get fired. Watching these two go at it kept the pages turning faster than I realized and I laughed my way through the afternoon and evening (and was almost late for work)! I definitely recommend this one!!!

What can I say? I loved this story!

I admit that after the first scene I was more than prepared to spread a little bit of hate around Cole, I mean seriously! Though I did warm up to Cole pretty fast, he was infuriating, high handed, bossy and a completely unreasonable employer. No matter how well the job pays, and Kiersten agrees almost from the beginning, just as she agrees that he is the hottest thing walking around the whole damn city.

If only he wasn’t her boss. And a total pain in the ass.

Then her numbers come up, so speak, and the good pay is no longer the pull it once was. But Kiersten is a product of her environment and doing a good job means something to her, even if Cole doesn’t deserve it. So she keeps working hard, waiting for the day the money hits the bank and she can say goodbye forever. Only that doesn’t sound as appealing as it should so she comes up with something better.

Revenge.

The fun of, 69 Million Things I Hate About You, lies in the battle waged between Cole and Kiersten. This is a billion dollar business so nothing is so over the top that you’ll be taken out of the story, but you will be laughing, cringing and squeezing your eyes closed at some of their antics. I have two things to say to you right now: Amish farm and Massage table. Once you’ve read the story you will know exactly what I mean!

What I liked most about this story is that the actual romance doesn’t come into play for quite some time, yet the whole story still feels like a romance. Nothing happens between the main characters for quite some time but all the buildup, the fighting and the banter is there so you can experience every moment as Cole and Kiersten try to figure it out.

Oh…dinner with Cole’s mom was by far one of the best scenes in 69 Million Things I Hate About You.
It’s been a long time since I found a heroine I liked as much as Kiersten, she was tough and funny, determined and not at all afraid of Cole’s wrath. And the way the ending played out was…perfect as hell.

Thanks to the folks over at Entangled for getting me an advanced copy for review!

I give this book 5 stars. I whole heartedly recommend this book. The Author Kira Acher's book is a great read and well written. Kiersten won 69 million dollar at lotto and is the personal assistant to Cole. Cole is a very demanding boss. Now that she can quit she keeps working for him, let the game begin! I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this NetGalley book.

Anyone who has a demanding boss would love this book! To have the freedom to say what you really want to your boss would be so liberating.

Kearsten just won the lottery with her 2 best friends and she can finally get her life back. For the past 6 months she has worked for the most demanding boss who has her on call 24/7. Instead of outright quitting, her friends talk her into exacting a little bit of revenge. Nice friends huh?

The boss found out she was trying to get fired. He thought it was for the severance package she would receive if she got fired, so he decided to make her quit first. What followed was a hilarious tale of who could top who.

This was a fun read. I laughed out loud a lot to their antics and truly enjoyed this book. Even having a love/hate relationship, their chemistry was believable and I didn’t even mind that they didn’t get together until almost the end. If your looking for a cute story that with keep you laughing, I recommend this one from Kira Archer. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Kiersten Abott is personal assistant to the boss from hell, Cole Harrington. As much as he is demanding,he is good looking. The man can't even get her first name right, but he expects her to be at his beck and call 24/7. When the unthinkable happens, she and her two best friends win the lottery, Kiersten decides on a little revenge for her boss so he can fire her. Now the office has a pool going on how long this is going to last.
Cole knows something is up, when his perfect assistant starts to act differently. Learning about the office pool, he decides to have a little fun with Kiersten. Landing in The Amish countryside, for the annual poker retreat he and his best friends did every year, Cole is amazed on the clever planning Kiersten handled this. But now she's taken this too far. Confronting her and ending up in her bed is not the way he saw this ending.
They have to make this into a movie. I can actually see Emma Stone as the lead. Best book I've read in a while!

This book was so entertaining from beginning to end. I absolutely loved the back and forth between Kiersten and Cole. Well written, so amusing and just enough heat! A great start to a series and I'm sure the next book will be wonderful too!
