Lynette Eason has delivered another great romantic suspense in Oath of Hone. I loved the plot and characters. I am always pleased with this author’s writing. I highly recommend this book.

Oath of Honor is the first book in Lynette Easons new Blue Justice series. At first glace it looks similar to the O’Malley series by Dee Henderson or the Alaskan Courage series by Dani Pettrey, in that it centres on a large family, most of whom are involved in law enforcement or other service occupations.

And it delivers. I fully expect stories about Brady, Lincoln, Ruthie, Chloe, and Derek St. John in the future. But this story focuses on Isabelle—Izzy—Derek’s twin.

The story was a little confusing at first, as there were a lot of characters to introduce—the six St. John siblings, as well as Izzy’s police partner, Kevin, his family, and other members of the police force … and the criminal classes.

But once I worked out who was who (and that Kevin was the victim, not the hero—oops) … Then the story really got going. This is not one of those books where I have a heap of quotes to share, because it was a pageturner. I was so engrossed in what was happening and in the growing relationship between Izzy and Ryan that I barely paused for breath.

Oath of Honor was great. A perfect Christian romantic suspense novel.
The suspense plot was excellent, with plenty of tension and twists, and the ongoing question of what Derek was doing. The romance was excellent, as Izzy and Ryan took tentative steps towards transitioning from friends and neighbours to something more. And there was a definite Christian aspect to it, which was good because I like my Christian fiction to have a discernable but not overbearing faith element.

In short, Oath of Honor was everything I look for in a Christian romantic suspense novel.
I’m looking forward to the next in the series. Recommended for romantic suspense fans. Thanks to Revell and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.

Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason I am a huge fan of Lynette Eason. And I believe this may be my favorite book of hers. I’m thrilled that this is the start of a new series. From the comradery of the characters to the non-stop suspense I was hooked. Eason has a gift for developing character to fall in love with. She out did herself with these characters. Isabella is a very likable character. She is a police officer in a family of law-enforcement. I love the banter between her and her partner in the opening scenes.
When tragedy strikes she is forced to work with Ryan, her partner’s brother, to help solve the case. This case with all it’s twist and turns have her concerned that she may have to choose between her family and justice. The author creates realistic and heartwarming scenes with Isabella and her family. There’s also extremely heartbreaking scenes with Ryan Marshall and his family. They’ve had more than their fair share of tragedy. The book is action-packed. Your heart will be racing as you try to figure out what’s going on and who all is involved. Lynette has definitely outdone herself with the first book in this new series. First class work of romantic suspense. This is a book that you will want to re-read.

I loved “Oath of Honor” by Lynette Eason! This is the first book in the series, and she started it off with a bang! There were lots of twists and turns along the way with a dab of romance thrown in. This story is about a very close-knit, mostly law enforcement family. It has the feel of the television show, Blue Bloods. There were a lot of characters in this book, but I had no problem keeping up with all the characters.

I have loved every one of Lynette Eason’s books, and this one was no different. Lynette does such a great job of providing lots of suspense throughout her books. This was a book that I had a very hard time putting down. If you enjoy good, clean, romantic suspense novels, I highly recommend this one to you!

I received this book from Net Galley for my honest opinion.

Isabelle ‘Izzy’ St. John has the privilege of partnering with her life-Long friend Kevin Marshall on the Columbus, SC police department. They’ve known each other their entire lives, and Kevin has a habit of pulling Izzy into situations that make her uncomfortable—like bungee jumping and off-duty stakeouts.

When a warehouse stakeout goes tragically awry, Izzy races to find the culprits—unaware that they’re racing to find her. Her partner’s brother, Ryan, a fellow police officer, and girlhood crush, becomes a rock of protection as the dangers increase.

Eason has crafted an engaging suspense novel that will keep you up late at night trying to figure out what will happen next. This first in a series book stands alone (readers don’t get left hanging), and the subsequent books will feature Izzy’s five siblings.

I am a huge Lynette Eason fan. I especially enjoyed her Hidden Identity and Elite Guardians series. This first book in her Blue Justice series has an interesting premise, lots of suspense and some unexpected surprises. It is the book that introduces us to the St. John family, a family of eight, largely made up of law enforcement officers. It focuses on Izzy St. John and a long-time family friend, Detective Ryan Marshall who is also the brother of Izzy’s murdered partner, Kevin Marshall. Their pursuit of Kevin’s murderer draws them into an investigation involving organized crime and dirty cops, some of which might be very close to home. While I did enjoy the book, and would recommend it, there were spots where I felt like I’d missed something, reread, and still felt like a piece was missing. These were few and far between, and I still thoroughly enjoyed this newest offering by Eason.
I thank NetGalley and Baker Publishing Group for providing me with a copy of Oath of Honor in exchange for this honest review. I received no financial compensation.

Izzy's partner Kevin dies after making a foolish mistake. Now Izzy and Kevin's brother Ryan are out to find the man that killed Kevin and bring him to justice. Izzy comes from a family full of law enforcement. Izzy's mom is the Chief of Police, her father is a lawyer and her brothers and sisters all have different jobs serving the community they live in. Izzy is heart-broken over her partner's death and will stop at nothing to find him. Everything seems to be connected to a mobster that the police have not been able to apprehend. Izzy's life is in danger and Ryan is determined to protect her. Having grown up across the street from each other Ryan and Izzy know each other well, but Ryan has been warned off by one of Izzy's brothers, but spending so much time together only furthers the attraction they already had for each other. Will Izzy and Ryan be able to explore that relationship or will Kevin's killer be able to wreak more havoc for their families?

I really enjoyed this first book in the Blue Justice series. It was full of suspense and excitement. From bombs and exciting chases to Ryan and Izzy's relationship, this book had me engrossed from the beginning to the very exciting conclusion. The author doesn't shy away from the reality of crime on the streets and some scenes( Kevin's death) are hard to read, but that is what make her books so intense and good! I thought Izzy and Ryan's story was wrapped up well and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

As I've come to expect from Lynette Eason, the story was non-stop action from beginning to end. It has a very complex plot, but it works. I especially liked that it's family-oriented (I've heard the story likened to Blue Bloods, and I'd say that's accurate, given my minimal experience with the show), with a lot of family connections in law enforcement and related service-oriented fields. I'm glad that the romance takes a back seat to the action, since the characters are dealing with a lot--grief, attempts on their life, suspicion of their own. It's there--just tastefully quiet and slowly growing.

I really liked that though Izzy and Ryan are chomping at the bit to catch his brother's killer, they do it by the book: they don't take an official and active part in the investigation, they don't touch evidence or interrogate witnesses, and they let their fellow officers do their jobs. Yes, they find ways to help and keep the plot rolling, but they play it smart so the criminals cannot walk on a technicality. I really appreciate that, when so many mystery novels are solved by characters who seem to exist outside the rules.

Anyone who enjoys a good cop show should pick up this book--it's a great example of the genre!

Thank you Revell and NetGalley for the free E-book. I was not required to write a positive review, and all opinions are my own.

I love this author. This is a wonderful first book in a new series. I love the suspense and the romance. There were many twists and turns. Izzy and Ryan come together during a very tough time. I love to read police books. They have to keep each other safe during a tough time. I did not put this book down easily. This had everything that I love in a suspense and romance. I received this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

A great start to a new crime series! Enjoyed all the interaction between family members but did get a bit confused with all the characters. The family reminds me of the television series, Blue Bloods, with the closeness of family and all the strong characters. Looking forward to the next in this series. Highly recommended!

I really wanted to love this book but in the end, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I want to note that I LOVE Lynette Eason's books. I especially love the Elite Guardian series. So honestly I was shocked that this wasn't a better fit for me.

This book honestly was hard for me to read from the beginning. There were SO many characters and other names. And another thing I noticed was that a lot of characters were referred to by first and last names. It was just overwhelming. Another part that was hard for me was how everything in a decent length book took place in a very short amount of time. It was a lot of details to keep up with.

I think this book would be a hit for anyone who loves police procedurals. In the end, I think I was hoping for a little more action than procedure. I also think that I was hoping for a little romance.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Janice Cantore's books. It has a similar feel. It also had some notes of reminding me of Dee Henderson's O'Malley series and also the tv show Blue Bloods because it was very much family oriented.

Revell provided me an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Police officer Isabelle St. John loves her crazy, loud, law-enforcement family. With three brothers and two sisters, she's never without someone to hang out with--or fight with. And she knows they'll be there for her when things get tough. Like when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes with her own life.

Determined to discover exactly what happened, Izzy's investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll--including someone from her own family. With her dead partner's handsome homicide detective brother Ryan shadowing her every move, Izzy's head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she's had a secret crush on for years won't leave her side?

With her signature fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat action, Lynette Eason invites readers into a captivating new series where justice is a family affair.

Lynette Eason did not disappoint in her latest novel. It was as described. Fast paced and edge-of-your seat. There's twist and turns every time you turn a page.

The death of Izzy's partner is especially hard on her as he is not only her partner by her very best friends from grade school days. In fact they have a pact that if neither of them are married by the time they are 50 they will marry each other. Izzy and Ryan do a fancy side step with their attraction for each other throughout the story. She's had a secret crush on him and he's had a secret crush on her.

I recommend this book to everyone. It was a great read. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I was given this book by Net Galley for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Oath of Honer, the first book in a new series by Lynette Eason is full of action and suspense. Isabelle St. John is a police officer and comes from a family of law enforcement. After Izzy's is almost killed and her partner is, her investigation into what happened leads to danger, suspicion and romance. Her partners brother, Ryan who is a detective and is also trying to help discover what happened. Izzy is worried that those involved could lead to people she loves being guilty or in danger. Great book, I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next one.

I received this book from NetGalley for my review and all opinions are my own.

As much as I enjoyed the “Elite Guardians” series by Eason, this one is even better! The family dynamics seem like a wonderful cross between the O’Malley books and the Blue Bloods tv show. All six St. John kids went into some form of public service, from law enforcement and FBI to a surgeon. I loved watching the family dynamics play out, and I’m hoping we have a story for all six of the kids.

Isabelle and Ryan are a great couple, with a nice bit of romance and trust that’s written exactly how I love to read romance! Their relationship is clean and based on years of friendship, and it’s plain to see their chemistry even without all those touchy-feely details I really hate reading!

There are a ton of secrets! All sorts of things going on that have to be figured out. I loved the challenge of trying to figure out who/how/why of the bad guys involved in this one! And were they ever bad guys!! Highly recommended.

Content: a grotesque gunshot wound mentioned.

I have loved Lynette Eason after completing her Elite guardian series. Eason writes about strong and capable women who show passion and faith. It is refreshing to read her books. Eason has a way of making her characters seem real instead of fictitious. Her latest series is no different. Oath of Honor is the first in the blue justice series. I was delighted to read this on my tablet. Isabelle is tough, savvy, and is a woman on a mission. She seeks justice for the one that she loved. I love how Eason includes the suspense and romance. This book was fast-paced and thrilling. I love to read books about strong women who have faith and seek justice. I applaud Eason for doing just that. I am a fan for life. I will read anything that she writes. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I love series because I get to see the evolution of a character. I can't wait to see the metamorphosis of Isabelle and Ryan as well. Eason has done it again. This author is a must-read.

I am excited about this new series by Lynette Eason that is about a law enforcement family. We meet most of the siblings in the first scene when they meet for lunch. Isabelle St. John has three brothers, two sisters, an attorney father and chief of police mom. One sister is a surgeon and the rest of her siblings are in law enforcement.
Izzy and her partner Kevin are on an off duty stake out when Kevin sneaks into a warehouse for a closer look and gets killed. Kevin's family and Izzy's are close friends so it is natural for Izzy to team up with Ryan, Kevin's brother to search for his killer. It takes them into gang activity as well as ties to a known cop killer. Izzy's twin brother, Derek, has not been sent lately and is known to work undercover but their mom, Chief St. John said he's not working undercover but taking time off. So when he shows up on a video that Kevin was filming in the warehouse when shot, Izzy is worried that he is involved. When she finally gets in touch when him, he swears he's working on a case and had nothing to do with Kevin's death. He does give her a list of cops that he thinks is one of dirty cops. But, Izzy and their mom is on the list and they aren't dirty. Things turn dangerous for Izzy as she and Ryan keep digging into who is involved in Kevin's death and connections to organized crime and maybe dirty cops. What does the list mean? Her criminal informant is supposed to meet with her but goes missing. Who can be trusted?
This is one action packed story of suspense with twists and turns that include looking at everyone as a possible suspect. It stayed with me even when I wasn't able to read. I was pulled into the story right away and wanted to figure out what was going on but was guessing up until the end. Ms. Eason does a great job developing characters and a story line. I am excited that Izzy has so many siblings and I hope that they all get their own story. I am looking forward to the next story.

As always Lynette Eason takes you on a spiraling, exciting journey as characters you will come to love experience events that "shake their world." Just as in her other books and series Lynette creates wonderful, dynamic characters that you will want to continue following their lives. This is a new series "Blue Justice" which does great honor to our police! Realistic yet sensitive, you will love this first story of the St. John and Marshall families. I also appreciate very much how she honors God and has families who pray for and with each other. I enjoy that fact that I can read a suspenseful love story with bad language and gratitious sex. I totally recommend this book and all her other books. I know I will be waiting for the next book in this series. I voluntarily received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
