Lynette Eason is widely popular romantic suspense author, who I have read every single one of her books and novellas. She knows what the fans of romantic suspense want. Non-stop action with a hint of romance. She is heavier on the suspense versus the romance, so if you prefer more romance than suspense or prefer fifty-fifty than she might not be the author for you. As for me, that is what I like. I think suspense should be the majority of the focus, than the romance buds along the way.
The plot for her opening book Oath of Honor to her Blue Justice series is wild. From the first chapter where we meet Isabelle as she mingles with her wild and huge family, I was engrossed in this active family. From there the mystery takes off, throwing me for a loop in every chapter. Eason is a master at ending chapters with cliff-hangers, so she allows the reader, me included, to stay up way too late, trying to finish one more chapter, but then the next thing I know, I have finished the book. Oath of Honor is no exception. I finished the book in a little over one day, and loved it.
Isabelle is a police officer with a huge family. We meet her parents and all her siblings. They're a loving family who supports each other. Isabelle fights for the right for justice for a death of a friend, and the rest of the story centers around finding that killer. Enters Ryan. Her best friend's brother and the guy she had a crush on for a long time. With the troubles arising, Ryan and Isabelle try to deny the feelings they have for each other, but like I mentioned earlier, most of the story focuses on putting together the pieces to find the murderer and bring him to justice. Not the romance.
Overall, Oath of Honor is a great introduction to a new series by Lynette Eason. With plenty of nail-biting, page-flipping moments and characters who stand out with their big families, Oath of Honor is another book for my Eason keeper shelf. I believe fans of Carrie Stuart Parks, DiAnn Mills, and Dani Pettrey will enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

A great suspense novel from author Lynette Eason. I love Lynette's style of writing, there is plenty of action, suspense and of course a little love story interweaved.
The only (tiny!) criticism I have of this book is that there are so many characters introduced and at times I found it hard to remember who was who. But still overall a very enjoyable story with a great twist in the ending.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers in exchange for an honest review

Lynette Eason revs her Blue Justice series to full throttle with Oath of Honor. Admittedly, the names were a bit overwhelming at first (this is a big law enforcement family with several partners and connections within that brotherhood) but I caught up fairly quickly.
There are plenty of twists and turns as Izzy St. John and Ryan unearth secrets in their investigation into and Ryan’s brother’s (and Izzy’s best friend and partner’s) death.
I appreciate the history Ryan and Izzy have. A slight twist on the friends to more trope since it’s Ryan has always thought of Izzy and his kid brother’s friend. Yet, Izzy has always had a bit of a crush on Kevin’s big brother.
There are so many strings to pull in this investigation, it was difficult to guess where the next one would lead them. But that’s what made this page-turner so intense and hard to set aside.
And now that I’ve gotten to know the St. John family through one of the siblings, I’m looking forward to where the next one takes me.

I have always enjoyed books by Lynette Eason and this one was not an exception. I was a bit confused at the beginning with all the siblings and almost felt as though I was missing out on some details of the story. This book was fast paced but it did feel like way too many disasters were happening to one person in such a short amount of time - that was a little unbelievable. I enjoyed the suspense and the romans. Thumbs up, for sure!

Wow! Talk about a great read. I lost so much sleep on this baby, the characters are witty, charming and absolutely wonderful. The storyline will keep you on the edge of your chair bitting your nails until it leaves you on the very last page wishing it wasn't over yet. I'm going to have to read it again. Seriously you won't be disappointed by this book. I think it may be Ms. Eason's best yet.

I did like this book. I liked the story line and the characters. It did have a lot of characters and I found myself forgetting who was who and had to back track several times to remember the characters place in the story

This was the best book by Lynette Eason I have EVER read! There have been I few book that I've REALLY liked and some that I thought were okay but this book was EXCELLENT! It was so well done in every capacity! I am really looking forward to this new series continuing.

The action, the thrill, the twists and turns will keep you reading long after you want to stop. The romance was perfectly done too! It goes to show you what that real story telling doesn't need to hinge on foul language and sex or sexual over or under tones.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!

Oath of Honor is hugely thrilling, combining mystery, criminal investigations, politics, gang wars, shootings, and suspicions that hit far too close to home for the main characters. Oath of Honor begins a new suspense series from Lynette Eason, Blue Justice, which promises to deliver both mystery and romance.

Officer Isabelle St. John knows what it takes to commit her life to serving others - she's just one more in a large family of fellow law enforcers. So, when her partner is murdered and she narrowly escapes with her life, Izzy knows she will do anything to bring his killer to justice. Investigating with her is her partner's brother, Detective Ryan Marshall. As they untangle the mystery surrounding Kevin's death and attempt to find the people responsible, Izzy and Ryan will have to face the hard truths behind the buried secrets.

This book had me majorly intrigued with the 'crazy, loud, law-enforcement family' and Izzy's secret crush on her partner's brother. The promise of action, mystery, and secrets that implicate the main characters' loved ones were just icing on the cake. And Lynette Eason delivers on all counts. There really is non-stop action and I was literally biting my nails as the story built to a huge climax. Twist after twist has Izzy and Ryan chasing leads with their fellow police officers, dodging bullets, facing bomb blasts, and grieving the loss of friend, partner, and brother. There are also plenty of possible suspects, and there was no way I would have ever been able to guess how it all unfolded.

Along with plenty of suspense, Oath of Honor also includes a little romance. It doesn't take the focus of the story line, but it gives relief from the otherwise tense plot. And it's not just Izzy who has a secret crush. Turns out Ryan has some secret feelings of his own. Built upon many years of close friendship, Ryan and Izzy's relationship has a natural feel that isn't rushed or overly simplified.

Izzy's large family and the cast of many other characters give this book a well-rounded feel, adding another layer to the action and romance. As the first book in the Blue Justice series, Oath of Honor introduces us to the characters who will star in book two, Izzy's sister Chloe and her K-9, Hank. I look forward to reading Chloe's story, which promises to be just as exciting as Oath of Honor.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
