I wish there were half stars, I'd give this one 4 1/2.

A was so surpised at how COMPELLING I found this one to me. It's book 4 in the Montana Rescue series and yes it can be read as a standalone, but I'm THIS close to saying that you need the other novels to understand this one a little better.

This installment is Ian and Sierra's story with a dash of Pete and Jess tossed in for good measure. Long story short, Ian and Sierra find themselves stranded on an island (Ian can't swim by the way) after the yacht they were on, capsizes. Lost at sea, and separated from everyone else, they don't know if they will ever be rescued.

This book had me turning the pages and promising myself, "one more chapter" late into the night. I love me a good suspense book and I admit, I was surprised at how well this Christian Romance author could write suspense. An awesome read, I highly recommend.....I can't wait to see what's next

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

High quality fiction guaranteed to make you smile, cry, and laugh out loud. Susan packs her stories with the best of everything: characters, heart, life lessons, and authentic faith. Her imaginary people are flawed and very real, and you learn from their choices as you read. Susan tops my must buy list, and is in my top ten all time favorite authors list!

If you're looking for a deep and soulful book that has Christian themes - this is the book for you. There's an innocence to this storyline that I wish all books had today. If you've read this author before, then you know her trademark writing style is deep family roots and traditional themes. This was a wholesome and enjoyable read.

I was given an ARC copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and do not reflect anyone else's.

Susan may Warren is great. This series makes you feel like part of the family. And every family has its own problems. Every story in this series is intense but has a great story line

"Troubled Waters" is the 4th book in the Montana Rescue series. In it we finally get Ian and Sierra's story. Their story has been carried along from the very first book (and the prequel), so it is nice to finally have their story and to find out what actually happened that day that Esme disappeared. The secondary story in this book is once again Pete Brooks and Jess Tagg. It brings things to a head for them and sets it up for their story coming in book 6 of the series. Ian and Seirra are thrown into situations where they only have God to rely on and they do some deep soul searching and changing along the way. There were twists and surprises I didn't see coming and I had a hard time putting the book down. After binge reading Books 2, 3, and 4, plus the prequel in a week, I'm going to be having withdrawals until "Storm Front" comes out in May! There is "Crossover" that is a Montana Rescue novella which would fit before this book, though, so...

I got a free copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and given voluntarily. No compensation was received.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley, I was asked to leave an honest review, The following is my own honest opinion of this book.
I absolutely loved the characters in this book. You become so involved in their lives and oh my gosh the heart-pounding situations they get into! When Jess is left alone in the middle of a huge forest fire, the rescue chopper loses a rotor and has to take off and leave her there or take the chance of crashing with all the other passengers on board. Or when a huge explosion happens at the hospital and in an attempt to rescue people caught in an underground bunker, the rescue team gets caught when the tunnel collapses they are trying to do the rescue through. There is also a niece that has been missing for 4 years, where is she? or is she dead? Intertwined with all this edge of your seat suspense, is so much back story of all the people on the rescue team, their romances, their struggles, their secrets, you feel like you are right there with them, cheering them on, holding their hand, praying. Ms. Warren has a beautiful way of of bringing God's word into the story and the faith that is needed to do such a dangerous job. Although this book is part of a series and I'm sure you would benefit from reading them all to learn more of the history of the characters, I was able to dive into this the 4th book in the series and truly enjoy the experience of a stand alone book. I enjoyed this book so much i do intend to read the rest of the books in the series. How can you go wrong if you love heart pounding suspense, thrilling rescues, tender love and romance, all totally clean, you will love this book and series. Thank you NetGalley and Susan May Warren for an awesome read!

PEAK Administrative Assistant Sierra Rose wants to help with the needed repairs for PEAK's chopper, after losing a rotor puts lives in danger. She asks her old boss, Billionaire Ian Shaw to help her with the fundraiser, he is having financial difficulties, but Sierra doesn't want his money, she just wants to be able to invite their mutual friends that she met when she was working for him. Ian agrees and even offers the use of his yacht. But when the 3 day fundraiser turns into a nightmare when the boat is crippled by a wave, Ian and Sierra must fight for survival, and take a closer look at their relationship.

Sierra is very organized and plans the 3 day event meticulously, but she didn't plan on Ian coming with, and on a boat it's hard to avoid the man who broke her heart. Sierra cares about the people that she works with and wants to help them, she is intelligent and capable, and she wants to make things right with Ian and his niece.

The up and down relationship between Sierra and Ian has been going on in the background of the last few books, so it was nice that it finally got addressed. As well as Pete and Jess and how this book gives them time to figure things out more.

I like how this situation bring out the best in Ian, he's been struggling lately, but he is quick on his feet and great in a stressful situation. He is determined and doesn't give up, he blames himself for how everything went down, but his friendship with Dex helps him put things in perspective.'

I like how this book has great dialog, with unexpected turns of events that force Sierra and Ian to confront their relationship, and their faith. Fast paced, with lots of action, this makes for a fantastic read from beginning to end!

I wasn't sure about another book about being stranded on an island, but I should've known that Susan would write it beautifully. In this story, both Ian and Sierra are unsure about where to go in their lives. Sierra is struggling with her sense of purpose and of belonging, especially within the PEAK rescue team. Ian is the type of man who hates to lose control of a situation, and he pushes away anyone who hurts him. I could relate to both of their struggles, and I think that we all have moments in our lives where we have to learn to surrender control to God and discover His plans for us. It's an exciting ride as both Sierra and Ian find their way to accepting what God can do for them, how He can heal all of their broken places. I was also relieved to finally learn more about Esme Shaw's reasons for disappearing, and I'm excited to read more about how that plays out in Storm Front, the next installment in the PEAK rescue series.

In this book Ian is torn on what to do next with his life. He loves Montana and he Loves his niece but he feels like maybe that chapter of his life is done. However it seems he can get Sierra out of his heart, mind and he just doesn't want her out of his life. Sierra needs to do what ever is possible to save her Peak. She feel like this is the only "family" she has. Can they work together or is it best for them to just part ways?
I love the cover of this book it really does sum up the story. I Loved this book a lot the story held my attention and I had a hard time putting it down. I seriously can't wait for more from this team, I want to know what happens with Jess, Ty, and Pete and some many more things that were revealed in this book. I felt like with Ian's story it felt a lot like Job from the bible and he felt completely relatable in some sense. I loved Dex and Sierra there fighting spirit and the way they seemed to be open and bounce back a lot made me feel more like friends. I love this series it feels truly like a great group of friends who your catching up with and the author throws in a ton of suspense that keeps you turning each page and leaving you wanting so much more in the end, of course in a good way. I loved that this book is a good clean read also.

Another great book in Warren’s fast paced series. This one was action packed after you pass the first few chapters. I enjoyed the read even if the events were a bit over the top. Still a great book in the series of the crew we have grown to love. If you love the series, then this book won’t disappoint.

Troubled Waters by Susan May Warren is a wonderful Christian contemporary romantic adventure. It is the fourth book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone. For maximum enjoyment I would recommend reading the other books in the series.
This book is about choice. We all face choices but the biggest one is whether to choose Jesus. "There comes a time... when he either has to get right with Jesus and ask for help, or go it alone." Doing life alone is no fun and not what God intended. There is always a choice to "choose faith or fear." When we have faith, we have nothing to fear.
Sometimes we feel we are not 'good enough' for God but we have forgotten about grace that covers us all. "Your worth to God has nothing to do with your action. He loves you because He wants to."
God is the God of restoration and second chances. A house restored in the novel can be seen as a motif for our lives. God longs to restore us and bring us back to Him.
A house demolished by fire is another motif. Fire can be purifying. God can cleanse, mould and rebuild our shattered lives.
Jesus was God's rescue plan for planet earth. He will not give up until He has found each one of us and brought us home. Likewise in the novel, PEAK rescue team will not stop searching. No one is left behind. They and God "rescue the lost."
We think by running from our pain and filling our lives that we can escape from our memories. "I just... kept running." We must confront and deal with our past before we can move into our future.
God answers prayer even when He hasn't heard from us in a long time. God bends His ear and delights in us. Sometimes we have no words to pray but God knows the desires and groanings of our heart. When we are lost He will find us and bring us home.
Troubled Waters is a marvellous read. I could not put it down. I really cannot wait for book five in this fabulous Montana Rescue series. Many more please Susan May Warren.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Susan May Warren has done it again. Heart-pounding action and romance-- I literally couldn't put this book down. The characters lived and breathed on the page and when I finished the book, I felt like I had been right there with them. It was satisfying yet unexpected. I loved how their unique character and relationship growth made sense; it was not random, arbitrary, or forced. Masterful.

Finally Ian & Sierra’s story! I have been waiting for this one since I read the prequel, If Ever I Would Leave You. I have followed along with the ups and downs and waves of issues their relationship through the entire series. So many times I just wished that they would just talk honestly with each other! I was surprised that their story took us away from Montana, but enjoyed the involvement with the other PEAK team members and the ongoing story of Pete and Jess. Ian’s journey through this book was one of learning to trust God and to relinquish control. Finally, the details of Esme’s disappearance to come out, and I am looking forward to how that story will continue to develop. The character development throughout this entire series has been fantastic and I have really come to enjoy the building of Pete and Jess’ story. I am now impatiently waiting for the next release in this series.

This book kept me guessing as to what would happen between Ian and Sierra next. They seem to want to work things out , but I imagine with the secrets and grief in their lives, it makes it hard to make it all come together. I liked how when push came to shove, the finally had to talk things out and to get everything rescued.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher, the review is my own.

Story Notes

Susan May Warren continues her Montana Rescue Series with the much anticipated story of Ian Shaw and Sierra Rose – a story that brings a literal tidalwave of emotion and a chance at real forgiveness.

I was so thrilled to be offered this book for review as this series is one I’ve loved from the first page of Wild Montana Skies. And Ms. Warren is finally going to tell the whole story of Ian Shaw and Sierra Rose. In the past three books, they have gone from co-workers to good friends, and Sierra was hoping that Ian could love her in the same way she has come to love him. But since the disappearance of his niece, Esme, Ian refuses to move on with his life. Sierra is tired of waiting for love from a man who cannot let go of his past demons so she give him an ultimatum: move on or I will. Angry that she doesn’t seem to understand his drive to find Esme, Ian fired Sierra and is trying to find solace in the rescue work he loves. When fines and retribution fees from a forest fire that started his land decimate Ian’s finances, he will have to find a way to fund PEAK rescue or it will have to be absorbed by local rescue services. Sierra comes to his “rescue” once again, suggesting that he offer his yacht to his wealthy friends for a weekend of relaxation and fundraising. Ian agrees rather reluctantly, not planning to attend given his fear of water and inability to swim. But he quickly changes his mind when he realizes that he is still in love with Sierra and is afraid she might fall in love with one of his friends. Determined to face his fears, move on from the past and show Sierra he loves her, Ian puts himself forth as Sierra’s assistant for the trip. Unable to understand this “new” Ian who is helpful and kind, Sierra hopes he is finally going to move beyond his troubled past. But the trip is far from the relaxing luxury cruise they had hoped to enjoy. Triple rogue waves strike the yacht off the coast of the Florida Keys and all passengers are flung in multiple directions. Reeling with the impact of the waves, Ian and Sierra manage to make to a nearby island. But things go from bad to worse as a Catagory 3 rakes the island less than 12 hours after they make landfall. Injured, starving and with little drinkable water accessible, Ian and Sierra will have to find the courage to survive and forgive each other for past mistakes. They also find another member of their yacht party after the storm passes who is near-fatally injured and rescue will have to come soon if they are going to make it home alive. Ian and Sierra will both have to placed their faith in God to bring about the rescue they need. I really enjoyed reading Ian and Sierra’s story and seeing how Ms. Warren grew her characters through the situations in which they found themselves. Ian was so sure of his ability to “fix” things, either with his brains or his money that he could not find a way to surrender to God. But Ms. Warren found a way to bring this brilliant man to his knees as he faced losing the most precious thing in his life – Sierra. Sierra has longed for Ian’s love for a long time but she will have surrender her love to God if she is to have any hope of it becoming reality. Ms. Warren used her to show how God can take the desires of our hearts and bring them to fruition in a greater and better way than we could ever imagine. Ms. Warren didn’t pull her punches when it came to speaking truth and it made me consider the ways in which I ask God for my heart’s desires. Her way of sharing the need to be one with the Will of God was carefully crafted to point to the truth without alienating her readers, a talent that few possess. Ms. Warren also included the complicated sub-story of PEAK rescue members Pete and Jess. They’ve been skating around their attraction to each other but neither is willing to fall in love until they have dealt with the past. Pete has been running from his mistakes for years, preferring to forget rather than deal – a further mistake as he is nothing but miserable. Jess carries the burden of her father’s mistakes and is seeking restitution through her work with PEAK rescue. When the past reaches out into her new life, Jess must find the courage to face the past and put it to rest if she is going to have real love with Pete. But Ms. Warren doesn’t give the answer to the question of their relationship in this story – a good move as it will give her a thread of continuance for the next book. I can’t wait to see how she will play out their story as well as Ty and Brette’s. I know she will bring more truth and greater faith however she chooses for their relationships to grow. I’ve already got the last PEAK rescue book on my “to read” list and know it will be an excellent ending to a wonderful series. I will certainly recommend this story to others and be adding it to my shelves soon so I can re-read it. Well done, indeed, Ms. Warren!

I received this E-book free of charge from Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I will receive no fiscal compensation from either company for this review.

Absolutely amazing! Books 3 and 4 were much better than 1 and 2. It was so nice to finally get to enjoy Ian and Sierra's story. The way Sierra tries to be needed and the way Ian pushes anything that could hurt him away were very endearing. I enjoyed journeying with them as they overcame these faults and finally found each other.

I love this series!

I am so glad that we finally get Ian and Sierra's story. The little tidbits we've gotten in the past stories has been excruciatingly painful.

This book is full of action. I think Susan May Warren asks herself "What is the worst thing that could happen at this point?" then writes it into the story.

We get to see first hand how Ian navigates the troubles in his usual alpha fashion. We watch him push away everyone he cares for, determined to do things his way. We also see a broken Ian turn to God and give Him the wheel.

Sierra is a woman of faith, but she tries to stack the cards in her favor by trying to be everything to everybody on the PEAK team. When her beloved PEAK team is in danger of having to close their doors, Sierra comes to the rescue. She organizes a three day weekend in the Caribbean for some potential donors. The trip is disastrous and leaves Sierra, Ian and their guests fighting for their lives.

This book was fantastic, but now I can't wait to get Jess and Pete's story.
