Another amazing book by Me. Warren. I have only read a few, but loved them all. Ian and Sierra's story is one that I have been waiting for. As secrets create problems in relationships, not only theirs, everyone involved has to learn what it means to truly love and be loved. The PEAK team suffered a setback that Sierra was trying to help fix, with a little of Ian's help. While it started out as a great adventure with everyone on board to help get the team what they needed, the storm came and changed the course of all their lives. The illustration between the literal storm and the storms you face in your life was amazing. Truly learning who is in control and knowing that you are loved at all times is remarkable. Allowing God to be in control is hard, as Ian showed, but things always change when you allow Him to have the reins! I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those facing trying times!

Susan May Warren is my go-to author when it comes to description and telling a captivating story from the first chapter. With her Montana Rescue series, I haven't been that excited about the series. The first two books were okay, but not great. Not what I expect from Warren. A Matter of Trust was a little better. I was hoping for a much better novel with Troubled Waters, and I was right. Troubled Waters is my favorite book in the series so far.
Having read all three previous books in the Montana Rescue series, I really couldn't wait until Warren got around to fully exploring Ian and Sierra's relationship. They have been hinted out and played around in the background since the first book, but I have never gotten their full story. I didn't know what really broke them and made them into a realistic characters. But finally, Warren allowed me to see their story, and I'm glad that she did.
The writing is clear and concise. I go to Warren when it comes to describing a place. I have studied and studied and tried to mimic her style in describing places, but I'm no where good as she is. I love how I can feel the wind in my hair or the sun beating down on me. In Troubled Waters, she made me cringe with the number of water's scenes. I hate water, so this book made me cringe even more than normal.
As for Ian, he is a broken man who tries to place order in his life. In Troubled Waters, I saw a humble and broken man who transforms into something wonderful. I admired him more and more as the story progressed. He made me fall in love with him just like Sierra did. As for Sierra, she is also a broken woman who wanted better things. Ian included. The story of forgiveness and transformation reached really down hard into me and reminded me of some areas of my life that I need to forgive.
I really enjoyed the plot in this one. Might because of all the survival shows my husband has watched and I catch while reading next to him. I thought of ways Ian and Sierra could have used things nearby to survive. Like I said earlier, I don't like deep water and stay far away from lakes, oceans, or anything to do with those things, so Troubled Waters had many moments of me wanting to flip through the pages, but I'm glad I didn't. I really enjoyed the high action plot with Ian using his survival skills to save others.
Overall, Troubled Waters by Susan May Warren is a fast-moving story set in the hills of Montana and traveling down to the Florida Keys with a top-notch survival of key players. The characters transformation was my favorite part of the story. I believe fans of Warren's previous works will be glad to see another great book. Fans of contemporary romance will enjoy this novel too. It does have a lot of romance in it.
I received a complimentary copy of Troubled Waters by Susan May Warren from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Troubled Waters is the brilliant and adventure-filled fourth book in the Montana Rescue series. Just like its three predecessors and the other novellas in this wonderful series, Troubled Waters combines some seriously epic misadventures, brave men and women who run headlong into disasters to rescue others, and long-awaited romance.

When billionaire Ian Shaw started PEAK Rescue he had no idea just how much it would change his life. But now his fortune has been liquidated, his niece is still missing, and Sierra Rose has walked out of his life (albeit after he fired her). When the PEAK helicopter crashes and needs serious funding for repair, Ian and Sierra join together once more to host a fundraiser on Ian's yacht. Three days together might just be enough to save their friendship, if they can survive the sea that suddenly turns treacherous.

Finally, finally, we fortunate readers have Ian and Sierra's story. This is the romance for which we (or at least I) have been waiting, ever since the very first prequel novella in the series gave us a glimpse into the possibility of Ian and Sierra. Since then, together and apart, they have faced heartbreak, misfortune, and collapsed houses, watched friends and family fall in love, and continued their search for answers.

For Sierra, there really isn't any one with whom she would rather be stranded on a deserted island than Ian Shaw (except maybe Bear Grylls). Finally alone together as they face the elements and the unfolding tragedy, she and Ian have the chance to confess their true feelings. But there are still secrets to be revealed and they threaten everything. The romance is everything and more. Slow burning chemistry, a shared history, a foundation of friendship; watching Ian and Sierra finally confess their feelings was wonderful and totally worth the wait.

As with the previous books in this series, there are multiple storylines unfolding at once. As Sierra and Ian's story has been continued in books one to three, so Troubled Waters progresses Jess and Pete's story. I really fell for Pete in this book. He lays his heart on the line, risks it all, and is man enough to give Jess exactly what she needs. Their story is sure to be continued in book five, Storm Front, which will feature Ty and Brette's story.

I highly recommend that readers read the Montana Resuce series in chronological order, including the novellas. While each book has a complete plot line, the overall series storyline makes more sense when read in full and the individual stories of each character do begin and continue throughout each book. It would also deepen the whole experience to read each and every book in this amazing series. And why not? Because if you like suspense, adventure, strong characters, amazing romance, friendship, soul searching and faith, then the Montana Rescue series is perfect for you.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Welcome back to Montana (for a little while, anyway) and the strong, capable men and intelligent, tenacious women who make up the PEAK rescue team in Glacier National Park. I am fascinated by how Susan May Warren continues to submerge readers in the middle of natural disasters and give us a taste of the danger and fear those bring with them.
When Ian and Sierra travel to the Gulf of Mexico for a junket to raise money for PEAK Rescue’s disabled helicopter, they never dreamed they’d need their own rescue team. Well, Ian might have.
Yet this is the catalyst that forces Ian and Sierra to talk about what’s between them—something they’ve been ignoring for an entire year. It also forces them to take a look at themselves as well as their faults and faith.
The thread of Jess and Pete’s story continues to weave throughout this book giving readers glimpses into what’s bound to be a whopper of a finale to this series…but up next, Ty gets his turn at bat.

Susan May Warren tells a page-turning, action-packed love story Troubled Waters. Picking up almost exactly where A Matter of Trust leaves off, this fourth addition to Warren's Montana Rescue series doesn't disappoint. Given the variety of plot lines and characters woven throughout the series, each successive book becomes less able to stand alone. In fact, before the next installment, I may have to re-read the entire series. That said, Warren's storytelling and character development skills continue to impress and engage the reader. Ian Shaw has long been one of my least favorite characters, and I truly enjoyed getting to see him experience a period of deep introspection and growth. Sierra too was compelling, and a worthy female protagonist. The scenery change to the Caribbean was interesting, but I did miss the lack of mountain adventure in Troubled Waters. Plenty of love stories and an overarching mystery remain to be told in future additions to the series, and I look forward to reading each of them!

I think that, by not reading the first books in this series, I missed out on a lot of the backstory. Usually, books that are part of a series can be read as a standalone (and, technically, this one can, too), but this one just didn’t work very well by itself. This is the fourth book in the Montana Rescue series. The characters are already established and connected, and have little character development. I felt as though we were expected to already know them, and after a while, I was able to catch up some. The two leads, Ian and Sierra, don’t really seem like they should go together, but you know that they will. There are tragedies to overcome and personal struggles to cope with at the same time. When the hurricane overturns Ian’s yacht, it’s more than just a part of the story – it’s a metaphor for life. It’s the journey that really makes the book, but the two struggle with faith and forgiveness, love and trust, and come out on top.

I've been looking forward to Ian and Sierra's story since I read the prequel novella. And let me tell ya', Troubled Waters did not disappoint! Susan May Warren never fails to entertain me, keeping my eyes glued to the pages of her books. And Troubled Waters is, in my opinion, her best book yet. I wish I could give it more than five stars. It's one of those books that I didn't want to put down. I'd get so frustrated when 'real life' interfered and I'd have to set it down.

It was so great to be back on another adventure with these characters. Stressful at times, but so great! I loved getting to see a different side to Ian, getting to know him better. Sierra is such a sweet character who's incredibly easy to relate to. They've always made such a good team. While the main spotlight was on Ian and Sierra, this story felt just as much Pete and Jess' story, too. To say their 'relationship' is complicated would be an understatement. It's like one step forward, three steps back with them. I'm hoping they can find a way to work things out.

I can't recommend this highly enough! Time flew by while I was reading it. So much was happening and I needed to know what would happen next as soon as I could. I couldn't read it fast enough. I'm super excited for the next book, Storm Front – Ty's story. For the first couple of books in this series, he kinda lurked in the background and I didn't take much notice of him. But since book three, A Matter of Trust, I can't seem to get enough of him. Can't wait!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

Oh Ian and Sierra! I have been waiting so long to read their story and I was not disappointed. Needing to fix up the PEAK Chopper Sierra puts together a junket for Ian and his friends to help raise money. Through unexpected events they end up stranded on an island fighting to survive. I love the all of the characters in this series, but I've always been attached to these two, so to see them finally able to really work through their issues made me so happy! I hope this won't be the last we see of them! I highly recommend this series if you've not read them. this is the 4 th book, and I do think you should read them in order as characters from other stories will be in them, and there is quite a bit of history between Ian and Sierra that's important to know before you read this book.

Finally the story for Ian and Sierra!! I have been looking forward to this story since book 1 in the Montana Rescue series. Boy, howdy it was worth the wait. This is my favorite so far. The author put these characters through the wringer. The book was jam packed full of one action packed adventure after another. I couldn't put this book down. Oh and my favorite part? The sweet romance between Ian and Sierra. I was swooning and smiling during a very particular part of the story. I can't say more because I don't want to spoil it for you. You just need to read it.

"Troubled Waters" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the fourth book in a series, but you can understand this book without reading the previous ones. However, certain events from the previous books will be spoiled since there are ongoing story lines in the series (like the missing niece, but also developments in Jess and Pete's relationship).

The first part of the book was about a rescue by the PEAK team going bad. While rescuing injured firefights from a blazing mountain, they're forced to leave Jess behind. But Pete unexpectedly shows up, and he's off to the rescue. Out of control fires have also left Ian in liquid bankruptcy due to government fines. The PEAK helicopter needs repair, but they don't have the funds and neither does Ian. But Sierra is determined to raise the funds from Ian's rich friends by offering a trip on Ian's yacht. Ian can't swim, but he'll face his fear of water to keep his friends' hands off Sierra. Near the end of the book, a freak disaster puts Ian and Sierra on equal footing and working together, but even that might not be enough to rebuild their relationship.

Ian struggled with his fear of not being in control and losing everyone he cares about. Sierra struggled with her fear of being useless and forgotten as well as losing the sense of family she's found with the PEAK team. Both had to trust God as their situation was bigger than either of them could control. All of the characters were complex and likable, and I cared what happened to them (and it was clear that not everyone would survive the disaster). The suspense came from physical danger and the relationship tensions. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd highly recommend this exciting novel.

Susan May Warren continues her Montana Rescue series with Ian and Sierra's story. I have been waiting for the release of this book since the novella "If Ever I Would Leave You" where I fell in love with this couple. The wait was well worth it. This is a wonderful continuation of the PEAK team rescue and the mystery of Esme's disappearance. Ms. Warren weaves a suspenseful page turner overflowing with adventure, romance, and faith. She takes you on an wild ride from wildfires in Montana to a Hurricane in the Gulf. What I truly appreciate when reading Ms. Warren's books is her dedication to delivering a novel that is well researched, believable, and God honoring. Her relate-able characters come alive and teach us all things about life, relationships, faith and ourselves.

Another great read by Ms. Warren. It grabbed me in the beginning and the grip didn't loosen until the end. Finally the story of Ian and Sierra, the lessons they needed to learn and the many twist and turns they needed to take to their future. I have really enjoyed every book in this Montana Rescue series and this book #4 is not an exception, it is an extremely enjoyable read.

I really love this series and this author. She does her homework. You can relate to her characters and feel what they are going through. This was a very good (next) book in the series but it can easily be read as a stand alone book. I love the story of Pete & Jess woven through and I think it will be a fantastic finale to the series but a little sad when it ends.

This book however, this book is about Sierra and Ian. You will cheer for them and love them all over again. As their story unfolds, you learn so much more about Ian but just how 'real' he really is. We learn more about Esme too.

I think this is probably the longest read in the series but it's okay because you will be so engrossed in it, you won't want it to end and you'll be left waiting for the next one.

Happy Reading! :)

The emotions going through this entire book are as stormy and frightening as the waves that turned Ian's yacht upside down. And it's disheartening to see there's no time to breathe because, when a respite seems to finally have come, the next wave of trouble is already there threatening.

It can be very frustrating to see the characters being led so easily by a current of emotions, and you just want to shout: JUST TALK ALREADY! OPEN UP!
Nevertheless, at the same time, it was really inspiring when they were brought to the end of themselves, learning life is so much about choosing other than trying to control - choosing to love, to forgive, to trust, because hurricanes and fires are just around the corner ready to happen, sometimes quite literally, therefore we shouldn't take for granted what we have, we shouldn't choose to let everything be so difficult, so graceless. We should learn that wealth and security are not found in what can be taken away, but in what's everlasting. And we can safely "count it a gift when God is my only option".

I got to say that Ian has been a favorite during this series. I have been rooting for Sierra and Ian for sometime now, and was happy to finally read their story. Also happy to find out that the series seems to be far from over.
