Ms. Jarecki nailed it with this one, my sniper spy romance book loving friends. I absolutely loved the feisty, highly skilled like no other, alpha warrior heroine. She certainly seemed to be able to give as good as she got from the equally determined, trained, handsome as a moviestar Scot.

The fire power behind this dynamic duo certainly put the bad guys on notice and on the run, as lots of time was spent on covert life-threatening situations trying to stop these evil doers once and for all. When the tables are turned and they become the prey, they truly work as a team and use their unique skill set and even luck to survive impossible odds.

Whether seamlessly achieving their mission or about to face certain death, these two destined to be together warrior lovers never gave up or surrendered, except their hearts in the final, romantic wrap-up conclusion.

The writing flowed, stayed engaging, and I thoroughly enjoyed this action packed, dramatic, yet romantic read.

Title: Body Shot, Series: ICE (Book 2), Author: Amy Jerecki, Pages: 255, stand-alone but part of a series, alpha sniper heroine, good guy alpha hero, very steamy scenes, some graphic violence, perilous situations, lots of action packed drama.

Book 1 - Hunt for Evil
Book 2 - Body Shot
Book 3 - Mach One

This is the second in this series and it's a great book. The series is grabs your attention fast and keeps it to the very last page. This book did the same and had moments of humor too.

Mike has been at this a while and his newest mission is to convince a new recruit to join. Not such an easy job considering she's been wrongfully imprisoned for two years.

After getting out of prison for a murder she did not commit Henri had decided to take her back pay and go home. What she doesn't count on is a Scot who has come to talk to her not leaving after making her position clear with the first bullet.

I am a huge fan of this series and cannot wait to read the next one.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The badassery continues!

Once again, Jarecki impressed me. This second story in the ICE series was every bit as good as the first. A lot of time and research went into the scenic and technical details of this book, and it shows.

Henri and Mike were such lively, multi-layered characters, and the chemistry between them was electric. I loved their wit and sarcastic banter. The plot was creative, well-developed and moved at a quick pace, keeping me enthralled and rapidly running the pages the whole way.

I am more than ready for ICE #3!

Unfortunately the book was not for me, no review was publicly posted on Amazon, B&N, Goodreads or Twitter etc, so no ratings were affected in relation to it.

Having not enjoyed the first book in the series that was provided for review, I have decided it would be better to not start this one, and just remove the book from my Kindle and Netgalley shelf.

Body Shot is the perfect romantic suspense. It's got it all - action, suspense and sizzling sexual tension with a fabulous cast of characters. Henrietta "Henri" Anderson, former Delta Force sniper, has served 2 years for a crime she didn't commit, set up by an ISIS terrorist. ICE (International Clandestine Enterprise) has figured out she is innocent, and has gotten her freedom for her. In exchange, they're asking for her to work for them, but Henri isn't about to subject herself to work for an unknown agency now that she's free, so she takes off to live in the sandstone home and mine her grandfather willed her, a hut no one knows exists except her. Somehow (well, with the help of satellites), Mike Rose, a hot ginger Scot and former SAS operative, tracks her down all because of a bet with his fellow ICE agent, to convince her, by letting her know if she comes to work for them, they'll help her track down Omar Fadli, the man who set her up and got her sent to prison.

I absolutely loved Henri. She's fierce and badass and when around Mike, also a fierce badass himself, she can't help but fall for him. Mike is the perfect foil for Henri. He's a protective warrior in his own right, and when he falls for Henri - watch out to the men who try to harm her.

Set amidst all the action you could hope for, Body Shot is one of those romantic suspenses that nails it on all fronts. If you like your romances with suspense, action and sexy, badass heroines and heroes, Body Shot is the story for you!

Henrietta was framed by a terrorist with a vendetta against her. After two long years in prison, the truth is known and she is released.

ICE wants her (no, this isn't Immigration and Customs Enforcement). They send Mike to recruit her. From there, they're paths cross again and again with the terrorist who hates her.

Book 2 was better than book 1. The cohesion of the story is stronger. There is still an element of disbelief on my part as the reader. I wasn't convinced in book 1 or 2 that this was something that would really happen, but the story was interesting so I went with it.

Enjoyable and well written romantic thriller. I preferred this to the previous book in the series as I thought the romance was much stronger, whilst the thriller element was excellent.

Body Shot features Mike Ross, a Scottish former SAS operative who we met briefly in Book 1 of this series, and Henri Soaring-Eagle Anderson, a former Delta Force sniper. Framed for a crime she didn't commit and imprisoned for two years, Henri is leery of joining back up, especially with an organization that won't reveal anything about itself until she's accepted their offer. Mike is the one sent to recruit her, but it's Henri's need to earn a living that eventually has her accepting ICE's offer.

I absolutely loved Henri. She was totally badass, a Paiute warrior who knows she's the absolute best at what she does and has no hesitation in kicking ass and taking names. The fact that Mike never denigrates her skills, indeed shows nothing but genuine respect and admiration for her, makes him a hero worth the name in my book. They were a terrific couple and I really enjoyed their story. This one was much more tightly written and well-plotted than the first, and though I noticed a couple of minor proofing errors like missing full stops, they didn't reduce my enjoyment of the book. I'm giving Body Shot five stars.

Heart-pounding action with a woman who knows who she is and what she wants, author Jarecki gives me another opportunity to live on the edge, and in this particular story, this should be taken literally.  Jarecki is one of those authors you know will entertain you, senses and emotions 100% engaged.  I didn’t read book one of this series, but made not a whit of difference to this story.

Henrietta has worked for Delta Force. Her bullet killed Fadl’s brother. It wasn’t as if he didn’t deserve it. He’d had a grenade, ready to pull the pin which would have killed Henri’s entire squadron. Somehow, she was fingered by his brother, Omar Fadli and put behind bars for two years.  She’s been wrongly accused and spitting mad with so-called justice.

She’s set free, offered another career by the very man handing her the release papers, saying they know who got her in prison.  Henri isn’t up to trusting anymore. She walks from the prison, turning down this trickster, who’s ready to set her up again.  No, never again.  She has little faith for the good guys, that is, if they are good. She prefers to walk out of prison and lose herself in her grandfather’s mine, on the Paiute reservation. A place to heal, lick her wounds and renew her spirit.

Excerpt:
And I don’t need to be a hero. Been there, done that and was paid in misery. I am to flipping the Army the bird and moving on.
*******

This new outfit who’d offer the job let her cool her heels for a couple of months and then sent out a handsome Scot, named Mike Rose, to see if she was ready to reconsider.  Apparently, by her reaction she wasn’t.

Excerpt:
She let him approach until she was sure he’d be able to see the muzzle of her rifle peeking between the sagebrush. “I could shoot you for trespassing,” she said, using her badass sergeant voice.”

The man took off his sunglasses and grinned. Good Lord, maybe not all the redheads on the planet were pasty. True, he had fair skin, but he looked buff—healthy, even. “Henrietta Anderson,” he said in a deep brogue, waving as if they were old pals. “’Tis good to see you’ve lived up to your reputation.” Jesus, he rolled his “rs”.

******
There is attraction and apparently from both sides.  But Henri is anything but obstinate, yet Mike is her match as you see through the story. He talks her into seeing how the new team, ICE, of which he is a member could help her seek revenge.  She soon realizes that’s just what she wants, to stick it to Omar Fadli.

Henri joins ICE, training hard with the other team members.  She comes to respect them. Mike and Henri are thrown together in a mission that is frightfully believable and scary as hell.

I’m eager to continue the series with Jarecki, a writer who knows how to create thrilling, mind-blowing situations with characters you’ll love.  Secretly? I wish I could have the stamina, smarts, passion and drive to reach my goals as they do.  Oh, and Henri?  Well, she’s just dynamite.  Hope we’ll see her in the sequels. Henri, you go girl!

4 1/2 Star Review.....

Imagine a hot, rugged, blue-eyed Scotsman and all that the accent implies; yep, what more could a girl want? Mike Rose doesn’t tolerate fools easily and rehashing a situation that seems overworked and futile is his least favourite chore. But Henri Anderson isn’t just any woman or the futile attempt at recruitment he first believed her to be.

Another exceptionally written suspense thriller with just the right amount of action and intrigue, Body Shot definitely keeps the reader captivated and breathless throughout the entire book. Mike and Henri are combustible once they let down their guard and the balance between action, danger and off the sizzling chemistry is commendable.

Ms Jarecki is definitely on a winner with the ICE series and this reader is hooked!

Body Shot by Amy Jarecki
ICE #2

Looking for:
*Action-packed adventure
*Steamy romance
*Alpha male
*Alpha female
*Military action
*Defeating the bad guys
*Teamwork
*Intrigue
*Great story
*Travel

Look no further ;)

This book will provide all of the above and more!

Henrietta “Henri” Soaring-Eagle Anderson wants revenge on the terrorist who set her up BUT she is not sure she wants to work for ICE to get it. When Mike Rose comes with an offer she can’t say no to, well, the fireworks begin. There is chemistry between the two but also competitiveness. There is tenderness and respect. There is teamwork and sharing and caring and well…I enjoyed the book and think you will as well.

Thank you to the author who bequeathed me a copy through NetGalley for review purposes – This is my honest review.

I gave up on this, it was not for me. I haven't left a review on good reads as it is probably just me.

For two years Delta Force sniper Henrietta "Henri" Anderson sat in a prison cell serving time for crime she did not do. Mike Rose was a long time ICE operative known for his expertise as well as his persuasive manner. When Henri agreed to work for ICE the attraction she and Mike initially felt for each other only amplified. As the two go on a mission, that allows Henri to confront the man who set her up to go to prison, Mike and Henri find that dodging bullets is a piece of cake compared to dealing with the unexpected feelings they have developed for each other.

Once again Ms. Jarecki orchestrated a story that will keep her audience's full attention. This writer has a knack for rapid firing details to flesh out her work, even while developing fascinating and engaging characters. Mike Rose exploded onto the pages of Body Shot and his courage coupled with his unceasing determination made him a hero that readers will want to snatch up for their own even while hoping for him and Henri to get together. Henri just raised the bar for kick-ass heroines everywhere. Her personal vulnerability emphasized her deadly unsurpassed skills setting up a highly complex emotional gamut for Mike to navigate to reach Henri's heart after his own surrendered. Demonstrating a real aptitude for romantic suspense Amy Jarecki has added another fantastic book to her ICE series. Body Shot is one entertaining sexy thrill ride that will keep readers adrenaline pumping until the very end!

Full review to be published in the late August batch of reviews.

BODY SHOT continues the overall story arc begun in ‘Hunt For Evil'. This time around, former Delta sniper Henri (Henrietta) Anderson has just spent two years in prison for a crime she did not commit, then is recruited by ICE as an operative. Mike Rose is a longtime ICE operative known for his expertise at his job, as well as his persuasive manner.

When Henri agrees to work for ICE, the attraction she and Mike initially felt for each other only amplified. As the two go on a mission, Henri is allowed the opportunity to confront the man who set her up to go to prison. Mike and Henri find that dodging bullets is easy compared to dealing with the strong attraction that has developed between them, which is making it a bit more difficult to get the job done.

BODY SHOT is another solid RS effort by author Amy Jarecki. As characters, both Mike and Henri are well drawn and vibrant. Mike Rose is determined, courageous hero, and Henri a kickass heroine. This, along with a very good storyline makes BODY SHOT a quite satisfying and enjoyable read.
