Yea!! Virgil's back!

Thank you Netgalley & Penguin Group for this ARC.

I'm a long time fan of John Sandford's books. Good plots. Fast pacing. Wonderful escapist / rainy day reads. Oh and there's the usual cast of Sandford's stock characters. Smart detective, detective's comedic-relief side-kick, bumbling crook, wise woman and other assorted Minnesotains as needed (not to mention the Minnesota weather). But Sandford does a great job fleshing out his characters.

Deep Freeze is Virgil at his best - simple acceptance of the world he's in and master of the understatement.

Another excellent "Virgil Flowers" novel from John Sandford. Virgil revisits a town that he knows well, after all he arrested the town council for murder and various other things. Now he is back to solve another murder and help a PI for Mattel serve a warrant. It all gets solved, but not before Virgil gets beat up by a bunch of women and shot at....Tons of fun

Virgil Flowers has returned to Trippton, Minnesota. A dead woman has been pulled out of a lake by a fisherman. It is obvious she was killed elsewhere. A PI has also come to to town to find out who is turning Barbie dolls into sex toys.

There is a lot of intrigue in this little town. There are plenty of suspects for the murder. The murder occurs at one location and the body is found someplace else entirely. How did it get there? Is there more than one person involved in the murder? At the same time no one is interested in helping find out who is making the Barbie dolls. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.
