Never let you go by Chevy Stevens.
Eleven years ago, Lindsey Nash fled into the night with her young daughter, leaving an abusive relationship behind. Her ex-husband ended up in jail and Lindsey started a new life.
Absolutely brilliant read. I read in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. 5*.

This is a read that captured my attention from beginning to end, I have become quite a fan of this author [who for some reason I thought was a man! until I was corrected LOL]

She writes the most astounding reads that rivet you from one place to another as you read along.

Lindsey has managed to get out of the unhealthy abusive relationship she had with her ex-husband who is now in prison. She knows for the time being she is safe, but her and her daughter need to move away and make a new life themselves.

You know he is going to come back and try to find her, its inevitable once he is released from prison.

But what we don't know is if he succeeds.

He was very close to his daughter and although his daughter loves her Father too she is sometimes torn between her emotions, both her parents and her loyalty to her Mum, so she does something behind her Mothers back which has some consequences to.

Lindsey is sometimes walking on edge shells due to not only the secret she is hiding but also that she fears and feels that someone is around watching her. Waiting and baiting their next move.

The Police are called in on several occasions when something isn't right in her home, but there is no proof of a break in.

Is it her husband?

Lindsey has a new relationship.
Shes also quite attracted to someone else too.

There are many surprising events that happen in this book, enough to keep my reading apatite whet anyway. The finale I didn't actually see coming until it hit me...... BANG right between the eyes.

Great book.

My thanks to St. Martin's Press and via Net Galley for my early copy to read.

From start to finish, this story had my full attention. My heart was pounding and I was on the edge of my seat from the time that these strange occurrences began haunting Lindsey, until everything was out in the open. There were quite a few twists and turns along the way. I had my suspicions, but I was definitely surprised by the way things worked out. I didn't piece things together until the author wanted me to.

Overall, this was a fantastic story. If you're in the mood for a thriller/suspense/mystery, then this is a good one. It will definitely make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

Wow! Never Let You Go lived up to its name...it didn't let me go from start to finish, and kept me riveted (and up way past a sensible bedtime!). The plot revolves around Lindsey and her daughter who have fled from a violent, controlling and manipulative husband, and have started over. Life is finally good for them, and they are having a good time...but then...yep, you guessed it...things start to get weird. Is it just Lindsay's imagination or is her ex husband on her tail? Loads of strange and creepy events start to take place that start to point towards his re-appearance and a return to his behaviour of the past...but when he claims innocence who is really going to believe him?

Chevy has crafted a great story which is tense, gritty and definitely in my mind thrilling. Well written characters and a great and descriptive narrative that allowed my imagination to wander, creating visualisations of the scenery and action, which bought it more to life. There were some real hold your breath and hold on to your chair moments, particularly as the book built to its climax that had me racing through the pages at the same rate as my racing heart beat!

If, like me, you are a fan of a tense, suspenseful thriller then this is a must read for you!!

When a book says heart stopping these days its hard to believe that is the case. But my god its true in this case. Lindsey escapes an abusive marriage taking her daughter with her, for a while she is happy until her ex-husband is released from prison and bad things start to happen again. He says its not him..... but he would wouldn't he? A heart-stopping excellent book that I read in two days,

Having never read any of Chevy Stevens books before, I didn’t know what to expect but having read the description, I thought I would give it a go and I wasn’t disappointed.

This is a fast paced, chilling read with twists that are well-thought out, well developed and believable. Domestic abuse is a difficult subject to write about sensitively and without sensationalism and Chevy does this very well whilst not losing any of the suspense, darkness and fear that comes with living in a very poisonous and controlling relationship.

With great characters and a great story-line, I found this a highly addictive read from start to finish and I will definitely be checking out her other books.

I want to thank the publisher (Little, Brown Book Group UK) and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

I'm a big fan of Chevy Stevens work, and this does not disappoint! It kept me gripped until the very end, trying to work out who was behind the strange happenings, was it the abusive ex? who else would gain from this? Shocking ending, brilliant book!

Full of suspense and thrills! The story flips between present and past about Lindsey and her husband Andrew and their daughter Sophie. Andrew appears to the outsider to be the perfect husband but all is not as he seems - her terrorises Lindsey and eventually ends up in jail. In the present day version of events Andrew is released and then strange things happen to Lindsey and Sophie. Its difficult to say anymore with out spoiling it!
I found this to be a fab page turner with a scary twist!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this .

I have only one word for Never Let You Go - WOW.
A good portrayal of domestic abuse and the impact this can have on the family.
A great psychological thriller that I could not put down. It kept me guessing right until the end, and still I was wrong!! Well deserved 5 stars from me and a favourite book for this year for me.

I started this book thinking it would be just another psychological thriller about domestic abuse, of which there seems to have been a recent plethora, however I was delighted that this book had hidden depth and a very well thought out plot. I loved the twists and turns, making me think I'd 'worked it out' only to be thrown a curve ball and sent off down another track. Excellent writing, great suspense and drama. I can't wait to read another one by this author who I previously hadn't discovered.

I am a fan of Chevy Stevens and have read all her previous novels. This is excellent, as her previous are, and kept my attention from the beginning.
Ten years Lindsey escaped her abusive husband Andrew when he was sent to prison. With her daughter Sophie she had set up a new life, business and new boyfriend. Then Andrew is released from prison and suddenly Lindsey finds herself terrorised. Is it Andrew or someone else? Daughter Sophie ha new boyfriend who appears controlling is she repeating her mothers mistakes?
The novel had me gripped from the first page until the last and then I wanted to reread Chevy's other books. Highly recommend.

Seemed well-written, but I just couldn't get into this book. I think it took too long to get going and shifted/jumped between time periods and characters too much, so I ended up skimming towards the end. First half of the book was very predictable and too focused on the past, so I'm afraid I didn't enjoy.

Never Let You Go has alternating narratives between Lindsey and her daughter, Sophie; the timeline also jumps back and forth between the present day and 2005, when Lindsey made her escape. It was interesting to see the events from both mother and daughter’s perspectives, while the events were the same, the affect on each differed. I enjoyed the danger Stevens created at the beginning of the novel, you immediately empathise with Lindsey and warm to her very quickly. Your heart breaks for her at the things she endures, the constant fear she lives in. Although, I must admit, grown-up Sophie, I did not like – even when I understood her actions and maybe should have felt empathy for her, I just didn’t; if anything, I found her borderline annoying and she came across as selfish at times. Perhaps it was my dislike of her that stopped me getting into this novel the way I would have liked to.

As the plot progressed, I found myself rather underwhelmed, I have to attribute this to a case of “too much of the same.” While I didn’t guess the reveal, the whodunit, I did guess who didn’t do it. But I found the middle part of this novel lacked the danger and excitement I was anticipating – the danger element did kick back into towards the of the novel, so it’s fair to say the beginning and end of this novel were my favourite parts, my interest just waned in the middle. This plot isn’t drastically flawed in any way, I just felt it was too familiar. Domestic thrillers tend to follow a similar pattern plot-wise and, as an avid reader, I felt I was becoming too familiar with those about ‘husband and wife’ so the plots were falling short. As a solution to this, I took a break from reading domestic thrillers specifically focused on ‘husband and wife’ (I’m still thoroughly addicted to ‘the case of a missing child’) – it was the rave reviews and the amazing cover that made me pick this one up. Unfortunately, I think I should have taken a longer break.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a good book, and if you haven’t overloaded yourself with domestic thrillers lately, I’m sure you will enjoy it very much! For me it just didn’t have that ‘oomph’ – Never Let You Go does carry the ingredients needed to enjoy a book of this nature – parts of unreliable narration, different perspectives, ability to misdirect the reader, danger, scary situations and shocking realisations, so please don’t misunderstand me, this is not a bad book, in fact, it is one I would recommend to someone looking to read a domestic thriller. It’s more a case of, after analysing my own reading habits, I think I just picked up this novel at the wrong time.

Wow! What a great book.
I thought I had it all worked out but I was wrong! When the penny did finally drop and I realised what was going on, the book took off at break neck speed.
Lindsey has been through a lot with her abusive husband and she's trying to pick up the pieces and have a normal life with her daughter. Things never work out as planned though...
I can't say any more as I don't want to spoil it for you.
What I will say is, if you enjoy a fast-paced, twisty psychological thriller, then this is the book for you!
Thanks to NetGalley and Sphere publishers for the opportunity to read this great book.
