This story is about the conundrum some women have to face when torn between two guys they care about. The main character, Samantha, needs to pick between the rock star who makes her go up in flames, or the steady shoe salesman/potential lawyer that makes her feel safe. It was interesting to watch Samantha try to sort her feelings out.

I'm always in the mood to read a book with a love triangle. This was a fun, easy to read book. I loved all the characters. Each one had their own issues and were relatable. But honestly this isn't a love triangle story. Sam has her heart set on only one guy. And that ending! Ughh! I understand having a cliffhanger but it just made this book incomplete. I guess I will be reading the next one to find out who she picked.

Torn Between Two is so good that I read it in one night... I could NOT put it down! When it comes to romance novels, I tend to migrate towards stories that are monogamous, enemies to lovers type stories. I was worried I would not liking the main character, Samantha, having two love interests but it was more than that. She has the sexy, bad boy, Hawke, and a more friendly, lovable Josh. I was quickly pulled into Samantha's life and the ups and downs of both relationships. This book was intense and amazing! Thank you NetGalley for gifting me this book.

Woah, I wasn’t expecting to like this book as much as I did. I am really impressed by the writing and the story. I can’t wait to get my hands on more!

A well written story with nice story line and plot. A rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected twists are thrown at the reader. I liked the characters. They are well described and develops nicely through the story. A triangle that captivates you until the last page.

Sam meets two men- one calls her Sunshine and the other Princess. One is wild and unstable and the other sweet and safe. At first I didn’t even think there was a choice. I ended up really liking the story even though in the beginning I didn’t know if I was supposed to like Hawk. With a lack of connection to that character it was hard to understand at first what she saw in him and why she would want to be in that lifestyle. Throughout the story both guys open up to her and you can begin to feel her connection to both of them. With the book ending the way it did I can’t wait to dive into book two to see how all this pans out.

The love of your life can change you in ways you never expected. But when you fall in love with two men it can leave you torn. Loving the rock star leaves you broken and questioning the truth. It also consumes you with a passion that burns you from the inside out. Loving the lawyer is easy and makes you feel more like yourself. It slowly completes you making you realize it could be more then you ever saw coming. Which love would you chose or in this case which love chooses you but leaves you hollow and a shell of yourself? I loved this book from start to finish although it left me hanging it also left me breathless. Mia is an incredibly talented writer. Her books are filled with emotion and an amazing amount of originality that is refreshing. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Och! this poor girl is caught between a rock (star) and a hard place. In spite of Hawke being so blunt and in your face with what he wants from Sam, you can see that he is really just a hurt little boy inside. And Josh is similar but with a far more mature and evolved veneer. I personally feel the intensity of their feelings for Sam is pretty much on the same level. Josh just has a better way of expressing them. Whereas Hawke is used to getting everything that he wants at the snap of his fingers and Sam is making him work just a little bit harder. You go, girl! But that ending is GAH! So on to the next book I go.

5++ Stars! Rock Stars are my favorite books and this one is exceptional!

Sam works as a pastry chef and dreams of opening her own restaurant one day. When she goes to see her favorite band Def Deception, she ends up back stage after the show. She has always had a crush on Hawke, the lead singer, and all of a sudden their eyes meet and the sparks fly between them. She ends up in his bed and stays there the whole time he's in Chicago. She knows that is all there will ever be because ... well, he's a rock star and she's a pastry chef. Days later she meets Josh, a part-time shoe salesman and law student. They become fast friends as Josh is easy to talk to and makes her feel comfortable. Of course Josh would like their relationship to be more than friends, but that's all she's capable of right now because of the feelings she still has for her rock star.

This is one of the best books I have ever read! When I think I know what is going to happen ... well I'm wrong. Ms. Kayla has a way of making the plot twist and turn that you just don't know what is going to happen next. In other books, I always root for the rock star ... but in this book I find myself rooting for Josh. I think that Hawke is just treating her like something he owns and that she should be at his beck'n call and Josh is just a really good guy that has patience to no end. But with the plots twists in this book, I could totally change my mind a couple chapters into the next book. And the cliffhanger in this book ... well I sure wasn't expecting that! I'm glad that the next book is out already and I can get it and find out what happens. I highly recommend this book especially if you love rock stars!

I love a good love triangle but I struggled at times with this one I just loved Josh he made the book for me but I did not really like either Hawke or Sam.he was really selfish and she was constantly I am a strong woman when clearly she was not.It was an okay read for me

This author is new to me and I am so glad that I enjoyed my first book by her! I enjoyed everything about this book and the writing style kept me interested, it felt like it flew by and I just wanted more! I can't wait for book 2!

Let me explain to you how I came to a 5 star rating. This book was one that I didn't want to put down. I felt for the characters. I nearly cried for the characters. I got angry at the characters. I wanted to hold the characters. And, most of all, I wanted more of the characters. What Mia Kayla lacked in with this book (needed a bit more solid imagery for me), she made up for in a great plot and amazing/complex characters. I am trying to write this quickly so I can dive in to the next book. I'm emotionally invested. This is the book I needed to curl up with. This weather! But, get it! Love it! Appreciate it!

Mia Kayla really stretches her wings and soars high, flying into another love of romance bliss with Torn Between Two. Kayla doesn’t write her typical Happily Ever Story with this release. Instead, she gives us a love triangle that literally leaves you torn between a hot rocker and a loveable lawyer.


One of the things I love most about Kayla’s books is the fact that was you open them, she sucks you into her story until you’ve turned the last page. Although her typical story line changed with Torn Between Two the same allure of Kayla’s writing was ever present. With each chapter she wrote the momentum of Samantha’s choice built and built pulling you emotionally deeper into this love triangle and engaging your further into the world Kayla had created.

I was captivated by Kayla’s triangle of love between quiet pastry chef Samantha and her leading men. Kayla writes of a young girl living for the first time as she pushes the boundaries of life, taking chances, making life altering decisions and growing up. Along the way, Kayla gives young Samantha not one but two completely different men that etch their way into her heart and into the readers as well. I had a really hard time deciding who I saw Samantha with. Hawke was captivating, chaotic, interesting. Josh is loveable, real, every girls dream. One with sex appeal that weeps from his mouth, the other sigh worthy swoons and heart melting love. So after reading I sit here completely emotionally torn between the two. Will Samantha chose the man who needs saving? Or will she choose the man that can save her?


What I do know is that this book is one that you must read. Whether you’ve had the pleasure of reading Kayla’s other books or if you are newbie starting out, it’s time you picked up a book written by this author. Why not start with Torn Between Two? Decisions, decisions. So how would you choose between the hottest rock star in the world or the heir to a billion dollar company who wants to be a lawyer? Do you want the life of living with a man who always walks out on you to perform and who is also surrounded by groupies, booze and drugs or the steady sure thing with the lawyer who seems to always be there when you most need someone in your life? Granted I personally would have a hard time making any decisions but I would say Samantha was having the same problem which in turn made me feel like a ping pong ball going back and forth between these two men. The rock star who you used to have his posters on your bedroom wall back home at your parents’ house and has nicknamed you “Sunshine” or the soon to be lawyer who is walking away from the billion dollar family business in order to become the lawyer he wants to be and has nicknamed you “Princess” which is exactly how he treats her.

With as many times as Samantha has been torn between these two men the author has actually given Samantha some backbone as well. Her dream is to become a head pastry chef at an upscale restaurant and she is not willing to give up her dream for anyone. All three of them share a past that has shaped them into the people they now are. You have to prepare yourself because just when you think you have it all figured out and are sitting at the edge of your seat you run head long into a huge cliffhanger! I cannot wait to see what comes next.

What a book. Absolutely unbelievably good. I would have to say that this is one of the best books I have ever read. I enjoyed ever single page. It has everything you need in a book. Angst, lots of angst.
Mia Kayla had this uncanny ability to just make you feel in the moment. The feels from this book swoon, swoon. From the first page, I was in the book. The book is about a girl named Sam who has a huge crush on the lead singer of a band called Def Deception. Sam and her friend go to the concert where they are playing and happen to meet the lead singer Hawk Calvin at a meet and greet. She's a relationship type of girl and he's marked her as next notch in the belt. Its nearly Insta love for Sam. She is very ambitious and a successful pastry chef who then meets Josh who is studying to become a lawyer. You can feel the instant connection between Sam and Josh. Josh is the sweetest most gorgeous guy ever. He is just too dam good to be true and he is desperately in love with Sam and just waiting on the side lines for Hawk to stuff up. She really doesn't deserve Josh. The book is based on a love triangle, a huge love triangle.

This book ends on a Cliff Hanger lucky the next book is out to start immediately otherwise I would be screaming.

I'm not one who enjoys reading love triangles. I usually stay away from them, but since this was a rockstar romance and the book was highly recommended, I figured I would give it a shot!
Whoa am I ever glad I did! I fell in love with Sam and josh and Hawke! But this book was like a love triangle that you would think. They both care for her.

An amazing read. Especially if you like a book that will take you on an emotional ride. Torn Between Two is a ride worth taking. I so would not want to be in Sam's shoes or maybe I would. Sam is trying to start over in life and boy is she doing it a big way. On one hand you have the rocker Hawke and who wouldn't want a hot rock star. He goes after Sam and works on breaking down her walls for the moment they meet. Oh how do those sparks sure do fly. Then on the other you have the shoe salesman/lawyer Josh and well he is more of a slow burn you don't see coming. Both have their positives and negatives and when the past starts to come back you can feel the struggle with Sam. This book is an amazing read and leaves you on the edge of wonder. I so can't wait to read the next book to find out. I love the chemistry between Hawke and Sam and Josh and Sam. I really wouldn't know who I'd pick at this point. I'm loving Mia Kayla's books and I can't wait for more from her.

This is the first time I've read anything from this author and now, she's got me hooked! I mean right from the very first chapter- I read the entire book in one sitting, I didn't stop until I finished it and once that happened I went online, bought the next book and read that book until that book finished. Can you see me rambling on and on? I loved this book! I don't usually like love triangle romances.. I mean someone always ends up getting hurts at the end..tsk tsk.. but I loved this book!

Now, for the review part of this book..where do I start?
Samantha Clarke aka Sammy or Sam, aged 23 is a pastry sous chef extraordinaire at Sheldon's Italia and a huge fan of Hawke Calvin, the lead from the band Def Deception. She has 'set' goals in life (To study at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts), she's serious and a lad odd, yet compassionate, empathetic and honestly... a romantic at heart.
Hawke Calvin is the green-eyed rocker that epitomizes all things rock and roll. He's audacious, dark, gutsy, presumptuous at times, yet has a sweet, gentle side that harbors the raw pain and sadness from his past.
Josh Stanton goes to law school by day and is a shoe sales man by night. He's the brown-eyed man with an appearance that screamed seriousness, good boy, guy next door but he was a jokester.
Hawke has a beauty that's instant and ruggedly hot while Josh is, like the author said, beautifully handsome.
Samantha and Hawke's 'relationship' is dangerous, fast and naughty whereas her 'relationship' with Josh feels safe,comforting and tender. Josh and Sam have this banter between them thats really cute and light hearted with a dash of sensuality whereas with Hawke, everything is fast and raw.
Sam bonded with both Hawke and Josh because they had similar affinities to heartache and betrayal that she went through.
Even with the fame and glory, Hawke was lonely. Over drinks he tell her " I'll tell you about my scum if you tell me yours". And thats when everything came pouring out..all the inner secrets and I think thats when they built this unbreakable bond between them that was going to be there regardless of whatever happens.
Josh and Sam share the bond of losing their own mother. On a lighter note I must say that Josh, dear Josh, his 'pick up' lines are so cheesy yet so endearing. He's the type of guy who'll always be there for you.. and a little spoiler alert here- he was! I was hating Hawke for abandoning Sam and was silently..ok..fine.. quite loudly cursing Hawke and cheering Josh!
FYI... Major Cliffhanger!! Be prepared!
This book is all about Choices... and I for one am so glad I made the Choice of reading this book!

This is the first book I have read from this author. I will admit that I decided to read this book because of the guy on the cover. which is something that I normally would not do. I found this book to be a great steamy romantic read that is so hot you will need oven mitts to turn the pages. The characters where amazing and the setting was the added touch to make this book the perfect romantic read
