Book 5 in one of my favourite series and it keeps getting better and better. Erika Foster is one of my crime busting heroines and I look forward to reading more.

Another outstanding book in this excellent series which just keeps getting better. This is somewhat of a cold case so takes a slightly different approach but is no less compelling to read. The characters develop well and the action is fast paced. Highly recommended

Robert Bryndza has been on my TBR pile for a while and wasn't disappointed. A well paced story with the the two parallel threads coming together nicely. Erika Foster is a great leading character, and It's a series I'll happily dip back into.

I was so excited to read this book as I have absolutely loved the previous books in the Series. With Cold Blood I did not enjoy it as much as the previous 4. I think the story just didn’t do it for me I just could not immerse myself in it as I have the previous installments. Now don’t get me completely wrong I am a massive fan of Robert & Erika and will of course will be the first in the queue when # 6 hits the Netgalley shelves.

When reviewing I like to be as honest as I can. I also don’t want to to leave a completely negative review I also want to leave some positives. I LOVE Roberts writing style and I also adore feeling like I am back with friends when i’m with Erika and her team, it is real comfort reading for me. Feet up up by a log fire solving crime cases with Erika and Robert’s writing is my idea of heaven

COLD BLOOD (Detective Erika Foster, #5) by ROBERT BRYNDZA is an action-packed, dark, chilling, and a gripping police procedural/serial-killer thriller.

The latest novel (Book 5) in the Detective Erika Foster series, Last Breath, by Brit author Robert Bryndza is another winner! The books in this bestselling series include:

The Girl in the Ice (Book 1)
The Night Stalker (Book 2)
Dark Water (Book 3)
Last Breath (Book 4)
Cold Blood (Book 5)

Having loved the previous books in the series, I was anxious to read book 5 in the series, Cold Blood. I would suggest you read the entire series in order. You will be in for a treat. I'm an Erika Foster fan so I've been really looking forward to this. This book is fast paced and engaging, but it is also more graphic in its violence than previous books in the series.

The novel opens with DCI Erika Foster and her team member, DI Moss, from the south London police department, were on their way to a crime scene-a battered suitcase containing the body of a young male washed up on the shore of the river Thames.

The victim: Male, violently beaten, decapitated and dismembered, and then packed neatly in a suitcase.

Detective Erika Foster is shocked. She’s worked on some terrifying cases but never seen anything like this before.

As Erika and her team set to work, she makes the link with another victim – the body of a young woman dumped in an identical suitcase two weeks ago.

Just when Erika is making advances with the investigation on the trail of a serial killer, she is the victim of a brutal attack.

But nothing will stop Erika. As the body count rises, the twin daughters of her colleague Commander Marsh are abducted, and the stakes are higher than ever before. Can Erika save the lives of two innocent children before it’s too late? She’s running out of time and about to make a disturbing discovery…there’s more than one killer.

I enjoyed getting back to Erika and her team and really enjoyed the dynamics between Erika and her team but would've liked more plot line devoted to them than Nina and Max. And more involvement from Peterson. When is Erika going to find some peace and happiness in her personal life?

Many thanks to Robert Bryndza , Bookouture (my favorite publisher) and Net Galley, for the ARC of this book.

3.75 stars. Erika and her motley crew are at is again, solving murders and fighting crime. A suitcase washes up on the shore with a body stuffed inside, brutally beaten and dismembered the team isn't sure they will be able to I.D. the body. Early into the investigation they find that this isn't the first suitcase to come ashore.
The story is told from two POV's Erika's and one of the killers, which is probably why it wasn't my favorite in the series. I like trying to figure out the who dunnit and why but I still really did enjoy it.

Emerging as one of my new favourite authours. Twists and turns make this book anything but predictable and ensure you are kept gripped to the very end. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next instalment.

The Erika Foster series by Robert Bryznda is one of the most satisfying is one of the most satisfying mystery/thriller series out there. It has action, twists, personal drama and great characters. “Cold Blood” does not disappoint on any of those points. It’s another home run for the series.

Erika is drawn into a multiple homicide case when bodies start showing up in Central London, packed neatly in suitcases. Erika is of course, intrigued, but the lack of evidence, as well as numerous personal conflicts stand in her way. And when the killer is finally revealed, it’s clear the team is dealing with something truly evil.

This book could be read as a standalone novel, but some storylines outside of the main mystery do carry over.

I love that Bryznda’s characters are so multi-layered. There not just cardboard, black-and-white people. It adds a complexity to the story and gets you really invested in the outcome. You’ll know who I’m talking about specifically in regards to this book when you read the novel, I’m pretty sure.

The plot moves very quickly, so it will draw you in from the first chapter. There’s no build-up in the story; you’re thrown into the action from the beginning.

Overall, this is a classic Erika Foster book: heavy on thrills and action, with a great ending and more of our favorite series regulars.

Highly recommended.

Wowsers! I love, love, love the Erika Foster detective books! Brilliantly written, for me they contain all the necessary ingredients of a good crime thriller. I love how each book develops and I'm always disappointed that they have to end. This one made me think of Hitchcock and Psycho. Can't wait for the next instalment!

Another hit in this series! I liked how the characters slowly develop more and more and, as always, the plot was totally gripping!

I have read every book of Robert's both humour and crime. I absolutely love them! Erika is one of my favourite detectives and is a bit of a maverick. Interestingly she evokes both annoyance and loyalty in her colleagues. This book is number 5 featuring Erika although slightly different. Nina and Max a dysfunctional couple become serial killers and kidnappers. Erika's job is to find them. What was different about this book is the back story to the couple. You knew a lot about their story and what happened to them that may have had an effect on their actions. A graphic in parts well-written story. I literally cannot wait until the next book.

Enjoyable read.

The first book I've read by this author and even if I haven't read the precious ones from the series, I really enjoyed it. It was fast pacing but somehow didn't get me gripped until I've read half of it. But after that I've finished it in two sittings and already know I will be reading the next one.

DCI Erika Foster and her team are back in the 5th book. I recommend reading the previous books before reading this one. There's a lot going on in Erika's personal relationships but the author doesn't go into detail with the backstory too much. This story is more of a thriller. There was no mystery or suspense since you knew who the killers were. It was more disturbing and gruesome instead.

I would like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for supplying a copy of Robert Bryndza's "Cold Blood" in exchange for an honest review.

Usually I don’t need time to think about how to review a book once I finish it. This time I needed some time to organize my thoughts because all along I had mixed feelings about this new Erika Foster.

The story was interesting and I enjoyed it but for me it was not as good as the previous ones. My problem was the cruelty of some characters in some scenes. It seems almost sacrilegious for a thriller fan to say this, but it was too much and sometimes unnecessary. Of course I’ve read worse scenes, but for some reason the two killers really bothered me and made me uncomfortable. I did not see a reason behind what they did, and despite the obvious explanations in the book about their actions it still did not feel good for me.

The bodies in the suitcases were intriguing and they caught my attention at the beginning, but then my attention just kept wandering. It was not something I can put a finger on but it was this uncomfortable feeling following me all along the story.

I will be waiting for the next book in any case. I’m still not giving up on Erika Foster.

I want to give a huge thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis:  On the banks of the Thames there is a washed up mysterious suitcase and DCI Erika is called in to evaluate the suitcase. Erika is shocked to find that a dead body is not only in the suitcase but the body is chopped up into small pieces to be made to fit in to the suitcase. Erika rallies up a team to start off the investigation but to everyone's horror another suitcase is washed up. In this suitcase a young woman is found also in small pieces and everyone is freaked out about the fact there could be a serial killer on the loose! Could this be the work of a sick serial killer? Could this be drug related? Can Erika battle her demons and solve these murders? Read this enthralling thriller to find out!

Review: I found this book extremely suspenseful and chilling! I read this book as a standalone because on Goodreads I saw that the author said it could be read as a standalone. This book had me on the edge of my seat with its unique and chilling suspense. I thought this was a great crime detective book and I want to read its previous books to fill in the characters's stories. I recommend this book and series to anyone who likes a good page turning thriller! I might have some bad dreams with this one! Highly recommended!

I received an advanced copy of this from Netgalley. I've never read anything from this author before and I end up stuck in a habit where I only go for certain authors! Glad I broke this habit. Really enjoyed it, interesting and well written. It actually had a certain conversation in that made me laugh so much, it will stick in my mind for a long time! Based around Detective Erika Foster finding two suitcases with chopped up bodies inside them and following the journey of perhaps a young Bonnie and Clyde! Would highly recommend and will be looking out for more from this author!
