This series and Paige Tyler never disappoint me. Great characters, dialogue, and lots of sexy wolf romance. As always I can't wait for the next one!

SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series book 7 brings us the baby of the group Max Lowery. As the most recently changed Max is still dealing with control issues. Max is lucky enough to find his One so early in his life, when he meets her and discovers that she too is a wolf shifter he feels even luckier until he realizes she doesn't even know that she is a shifter. Lana Mason felt a pull bring her home after graduation and she's glad she did after meeting Max; she feels an instant attraction with him and even though it's happening all so fast it doesn't scare her. For Lana the biggest issue they are having to face is her father's disapproval; Lana's Dad is one of Max's bosses, Deputy Chief Hal Mason. Max doesn't think it's going to be a problem they are destined to be together he's just going to have to deal with it, Max's main worry is that there seems to be a group of Hunters after Lana.
Lana is notified by Austin PD that her roommate was murdered, tortured first then executed. Max isn't worried about it too much at first until the Detective on the case tells him they found someone else who was murdered the same way, the guy in the picture the detective emailed Max is an Omega, that's when the warning bells start going off in his head. Lana isn't really taking it seriously, not knowing the full truth so Max tells her the truth, shows her he can shift. She is justifiably freaked out and upset. It isn't until she is chased around Downtown Dallas by these Hunters that she realizes he's right. But these Hunters are far more dangerous than they estimated and one of the team mates suffers for that miscalculation.
The romance between Lana and Max (there initials are ML and LM, I thought that was cute) is pretty swift and easy until the whole I'm a werewolf thing. There is a good bit of build up for their relationship it's not just all sex. There is also a side story that has to deal with Max's character development and him dealing with his past and those emotions, it also shows the IA as not such an ahole.
Overall, it was a great book I thoroughly enjoyed reading, I love the whole series, I can't wait until we finally get to the point where we find out who is behind the Hunters, and why the Omegas are changing into a more protective role. Paige Tyler has definitely weaved a great universe here, it's on going mystery of the Hunters and it's wonderful(ly hot) characters, memorable action, and fantastic romance.

Wolf Hunger by Paige Tyler
7th in the SWAT series. Werewolf shifters as a police SWAT team and their newly found romantic mates are being hunted. This book brings the hunters to Dallas to threaten the team and those they’ve given their protection to. Prior books should be read to understand the full background of a dozen recurring characters and the depth of the hunter threat.
Max and Lana’s story.
Action and adventure. Guns and gun-shot wounds. Romance and connections. A high tension chase and a sweet rescue.
Lots going on with this book. Entertaining. Fast moving. Escapism.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to gift.

While most of the books in this series are pretty formulaic, they still are interesting reads. The greater arc throughout the series of the Hunters killing werewolves is interesting, it is the romance that seems: same old, same old.
It was hard for me to get into the characters in this book as they are 23 years old. I really prefer romance characters to be a little bet older. Having parents involved just doesn't work for me. They seemed like kids to me, and the whole romance seemed way too easy and quick.
ARC received from Netgalley for an honest review.

WOLF HUNGER might be book seven of Paige Tyler's SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) but it is as amazing as the first one. In a lot of paranormal books, werewolves are accepted beings, in these books they keep hidden (as best they can) what they are, with only a few knowing the truth. This touch adds a lot to the fervor, I mean, how do you hide a very large werewolf running down the center of a busy street? Each man and woman becomes a werewolf after a trauma, usually near death, that clicks on the latent gene and viola ... a werewolf. The SWAT team is comprised of them but there are others out there who are starting to come to the team for protection. Part of the WOLF HUNGER storyline centers on a horrible danger for all werewolves that faithful readers could not have possibly seen coming. You can see the build-up for future stories with more werewolves making appearances, the viscous hunters that have come up with a danger to all of their kind if something isn't done to stop them.
I loved the romance in WOLF HUNGER. Even though it was an instantaneous attraction, you could see them getting to know each other. I also love the snarky byplay of the team members who are trying to "help" him, that added a number of humorous moments that gave readers a better insight of all the varied personalities and helped build up the storyline. This book also touches on domestic violence, the cause of Max's turning and a case he gets involved in, even though he is afraid it will make things worse he can't help himself. I love that about all of the SWAT boys, they may be tough, buff guys but their hearts work just fine.
If you want a different kind of werewolf storyline, a hunky hero, a heroine who is a woman with a mind of her own, sweet and steamy romance, danger, intrigue, the camaraderie of a family of the heart then get your hands on WOLF HUNGER.

Max is all Alpha and cares about others, especially women and children. He doesn't like bullies.
Lana has just completed her master's and returned to Dallas where she meets Max and they hit it off instantly. They also run into obstacles almost immediately, starting with Lana's father. Both Lana and Max decide that they will overcome those obstacles.
Max knows that Lana is The One for him but Lana just knows that the more time she spends with Max, the more she wants to spend with him. She has no idea what he is or what she is.
Can they make it work despite the odds?

Emotionally thrilling, action packed, engaging, intriguing romantic adventure filled with danger, mystery and a struggle to save the world around them.
Max Lowry is a sexy, hot wolf shifter that is also a member of the SWAT team (SPECIAL WOLF ALPHA TEAM) Lana Mason is sexy, sweet, sassy and has no idea she is a wolf shifter or that her life is in danger because of it. This is a passion filled thrill ride that was so hard to put down, loved every heart pounding twist and turn. I now have the overwhelming need to read the rest of the series.

This is a great book; this is the seventh book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series written by Paige Tyler. When SWAT Officer Max Lowry meets Lana Mason, he falls fast and hard. He’s positive she’s The One. And Max’s favorite part? Lana’s a wolf shifter too, so they can skip the awkward reveal and head straight to the happily ever after. There’s just one problem: Lana doesn’t know that she’s a werewolf. To make matters worse, hunters with intent to kill have tracked Lana to Dallas. Max has to figure out how to keep Lana safe, show her who and what she really is—and just how much she means to him. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Wolf Hunger is the seventh book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series. I have read all of the other books so I am very familiar with all of the returning team members. You don’t have to read the other books to understand this paranormal series but it does make things easier to follow. The common theme throughout each story revolves around one member of the team finding the one person that they are destined to be with for the rest of their lives.
Wolf Hunger focuses on team member Max Lowry who lost his entire family due to an abusive father. He carries that baggage every where he goes. Max meets the love his life, Lana Mason at a law enforcement event. She just so happens to be the daughter of the Deputy Chief so Max has his work cut out for him when it comes to disapproving dads. To add insult to injury, Lana is also a werewolf and she doesn’t even know it. Unfortunately for Lana, there is a group of wolf hunters who do. It would be an understatement to say that all of these things, make their courtship a little difficult. As with all of the other SWAT books, “The One” will not be denied. Max and Lana will overcome a lot of obstacles to be together.
The best aspect of these books, relate to family. The SWAT team is a pack. The threat of wolf hunters has made the pack grow tremendously. There is an awesome array of werewolves. In reading these books, you learn about the three different type of werewolves. Plus, you also see how hard they work to keep everyone alive and together. Wolf Hunger was filled with a lot of heart and is a good example of family. Max’s past plays a large rule in how he tries to assist another family coping with abuse. Not everything is easily resolved and there is definitely fallout. The journey to happily-ever-after never comes easy for this SWAT team but they always persevere. I remain a huge fan and am always impressed with how the Paige Tyler is able to continue to spawn one interesting book after the other, while still staying true to the core message. I look forward to what happens next.

Absolutely loved this book. This book is intense, action packed and sexy. Once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Wolf Hunger just might be the best SWAT book yet! As much as I've enjoyed the rest of the series, there's usually at least one plot point that bugs me enough to lower my rating. Wolf Hunger didn't have that. It does have two compelling story lines and the great action scenes I've come to expect from Tyler.
Max is the youngest member of the team and I haven't seen as much of him as some of the other members so I was excited to learn more about him. And when he finds his match, he goes big by falling for the boss's daughter. I liked that Lana was smart and independent. She even got her own action scene to show off her werewolf skills and didn't just wait for her boyfriend to save her from the hunters.
Those werewolf hunters have been looming on the horizon over the last few books and they make their presence known in a big way here. The team learns enough about them to realize the threat is much bigger than they realized and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out in the next book. Tyler also introduces some more beta wolves to the ever-growing Dallas pack and hints at some relationships developing outside the SWAT team. *steeples fingers and does very bad Bond-villain voice* Very interesting.
I should warn you that the story could trigger some readers: both Max's past and the current case involve domestic violence. I felt like it was handled well though.
For me, Paige Tyler's books are like junk food: great for binging and guaranteed to cheer you up. If you haven't tried SWAT or her spy series X-Ops, you're missing out.

Max meets Lana at a police function when he detects her scent over all others. If you've been reading this series, you know that probably means that the owner of that unique scent is none other than "The One" -- Max's soul mate for life. Finding The One has been the theme for all of the books in this series.
There's one little (ok, not so little) problem for Max and Lana -- Lana's father is the deputy chief in charge of SWAT, and he doesn't want Lana to have anything to do with Max.
Fortunately, Lana feels the pull to Max just as much as he feels it for her, and she defies her father to be with Max. But then everything falls apart when Lana's former roommate is murdered, and the SWAT team suspects the hunters have moved into Dallas.
Wolf Hunger is the seventh book in the series, and it's the point in the series when I worry about stories getting repetitious. That doesn't happen at all in Wolf Hunger. The last half of Wolf Hunger is filled with non-stop action as Lana, Max and the SWAT team work to defeat the hunters and their special brand of attack. The fast pace was awesome and I couldn't put this book down until the very last pages.
I loved Lana and Max together too. Even though she's got some big hurdles to jump (considering she's not even aware of what she is), Max helps her along the way, sometimes to his own detriment. Lana is strong and not easily intimidated, and I loved that about her -- she's the perfect compliment to Max.
So another terrific installment in this romantic wolf shifter series. I've got to give it 5 stars, especially for the action sequence that goes on in the last half of the book. I really adore this series and recommend it.

WOLF HUNGER is a very exciting book with non-stop action, suspense and sexy wolf cops!
I absolutely loved this book! I was immediately pulled into the story by Max and Lana’s first meeting. They have great chemistry. I am SO in love with Max! He’s a strong, protective alpha with a romantic side and I was falling hard and fast for the hunky wolf! Lana is a strong and confident heroine and she paired well with Max. I really enjoyed their story!
The mystery/suspense side of the book is dangerous and deadly as the threat of the hunters begins escalating. We’re talking primo Die Hardish style action. I couldn’t read it fast enough!
In the background of all this craziness, there’s a hit of a new relationship or two or maybe more! I know I’m looking forward to reading more stories!
On a more serious note, Ms. Tyler does an amazing job of bringing the issue of domestic violence to the forefront. Not necessarily putting it on display but showing the strength and the courage of survival and the real-life struggles in carrying the scars—both mentally and physically—of domestic violence.
WOLF HUNGER is a well-rounded story full of excitement, suspense, danger, humor, struggle, strength and so much more! Did I mention the sexy wolf cops?
If you haven’t check out the SWAT series by Paige Tyler yet, what are you waiting for! I highly recommend every book in the series! Especially this one!

Seven deep in the series, the author delivers a fast paced, action packed, solid hit. Readers, this is one series where you really do need to read the books in order to be able to follow and relate to all the references and to identify who's who in the growing cast of characters.
As the various members of the pack find mates, the single shifters are by turns envious and fearful. The last place Max could have expected to run into his "One" would be the Police Department's award ceremony. Plus if that's not unexpected she happens to be their bosses daughter and a wolf shifter to boot. Now doesn't that make a nice kettle of fish! Readers you know its going to get nicely complicated and make for a great ride since these are just the opening chapters.
Lana and Max hit it off right away and their chemistry is just amazing. They each have to restrain themselves from jumping the others bones on their first date. Her father however is not happy about their seeing each other and makes no bones about strongly expressing his unhappiness. Lana smells like a werewolf albeit different from anything Max is familiar with and despite all of Max's probing doesn't respond in the positive. Could it be that she doesn't know? Now her father's strong objections take on a different light.
If things aren't complicate enough Lana's university room mate is brutally tortured and murdered. It looks like it might be hunters who are searching for and eliminating werewolves. Was it a case of mistaken identity? Max desperately wants to keep Lana safe and alert her to her werewolf status. Clearly changing into a werewolf on the street to convince her that they exist is not the best strategy. All it achieves is Lana running home crying to her parents determined to stay away from Max.
One of the things I really like about this series is how Ms. Tyler incorporates the traumatic events that cause the shifter genes to activate in her characters. Max's story of abuse is especially poignant particular when current events force him to relive some of his own back story on a SWAT case that he's called out to. His attempts to protect the family particularly the kids touched my heart while strengthening Max and freeing him from the guilt and burden that he's carried for so long.
This is a pivotal story because while the squad finds out that there enemies and traitors within high levels in the police force they also score some pretty high support of their own. At the same time the hunters leave the squad with wounds that will be a while healing. This might actually be my favorite story in the series. I can't wait to see how the series will evolve from here on out.

It's always great to revisit Tyler's SWAT series. I know exactly what I want and I always get it. And though I've missed a couple- no idea how that happened- I love hearing how my favorite police officers are doing.
Max knows that he and Lena would be perfect from the get go, if it wasn't for the fact that Lena doesn't actually know she's a warewolf. But how to broach it without her running for the hills? And with a pack of hunters after her, he'll need to tell her sooner than later. This novel is once again funny, fun and full of action packed steamy adventure. I love how Tyler creates storylines which seem completely plausible and adds a supernatural element to it. But that's what it is, another element. It's what makes this series so readable for someone like me who usually doesn't enjoy para-romance.

Max Lowry is the youngest of the all werewolf SWAT team commanded by Gage Dixon. He was abused and killed his dad in self defense at 18 defending his family. Max latent werewolf gene was activated by the trauma of that incident. He has trouble, because he's so young, controlling his shift and his commander and pack mates help with that. Max meets Lana Mason, Chief Hal Mason's daughter at a police awards ceremony and knows by her scent she "The One" for him. She is also a werewolf but doesn't seem aware of it. Because they are meant to be together they fall into "insta-love" as Max has learned to expect from his other pack mates, but it confuses Lana. No one has ever affected her this way and her Dad is violently against it for some odd reason. As you read the story you begin to see why. If you've been following the series you will be happy to find a few unanswered questions resolved in this story. It is very much about "The Hunters" that are out to eradicate the werewolves.
I love reading the interactions and adventures of this SWAT team of brothers. It is such a fun world Paige has created full of heart and action. I love re-visiting characters and learning more about them like Internal Affairs officer Vince Coletti, Chief Mason and the hints to Dr. Delacroix might know about werewolves and be a whisperer. This story is about healing, overcoming what life throws at you and being there for each other. I love that.
Thank you Paige Tyler for writing this adventure and sharing it with us. And to Sourcebooks for granting me a NetGalley ARC for this freely given review.

Warning this book has domestic violence triggers
Max the youngest member of the Dallas SWAT team finds his ONE. Amongst the craziness that goes with that Max is dealing with a family that reminds him of his own dealing with an abusive father and the fact that the Hunters seem to be out to get his girl. This is a sweet and exciting addition to the series.

Wolf Hunger is the seventh book in the SWAT series by Paige Tyler. It delves deeper into new faces in the SWAT team and fleshes out the intra group dynamics. While some of the favorite characters from the SWAT team do make cameos in this book, the focus is on illuminating the back stories and focusing on the character development of the lead characters, Wolf shifter and SWAT Officer Max Lowry and the she-wolf Lana Mason.
This book introduces the she-wolf Lana Mason, a researcher whose deputy chief mason's daughter. She works as a pharmaceutical R&D specialist who doesn't know about her latent abilities and comes home to Dallas on a hunch after graduating from the University of Austin.
Wolf shifter and SWAT Officer Max Lowry is a highly powerful lycanthrope who is the youngest member and an integral part of Gage Dixon's SWAT unit. After seeing the others of his pack find their soul mates and fall in love he too wants to find his one while protecting the city from threats old and new.
Together, Max and Lara work together to save themselves from the wolf hunters who track her down and when things spiral out of control Max realizes Lana has no idea who―or what―she really is and their relationship becomes stronger forged in fire. This book does justice to its name and is truly spellbinding. Paige Tyler’s expansion of her werewolf mythos has given ‘Wolf Hunter’ more nuance and depth while melding humour with paranormal suspense. Her characters have such depth that you just can't help rooting for them.
Thanks for NetGalley for the ARC

This series certainly picks up and presents more actions and problems for the SWAT pack to face BESIDES finding their true love. That the defining entry push Max Lowry, the youngest pack member, into the limelight is rather astonishing to me. Yet I can’t help but rooting for Max from the start with the tragedy that propel him into werewolf-hood (is that even a word??). The effect of which stays on with him that, as exasperated as I am when he reacted rashly, I totally get where he came from.
Wolf Hunger is fast-paced and action-packed with dashes of twist and surprises. There’s bigger issue here on top of Max and Lana dance around each other. In fact, with the way events unfolding, the romance portion of their story almost - ALMOST - felt like an aside. (But worry not for those of you fancying hawt moments between the two, there are more than enough here to make you flush! *grin*)
This book certainly brings the series to a more exciting yet unknown path. Trouble (or likely, MORE TROUBLES) is brewing on the horizon. The SWAT pack need to stay alert to anything around the clock, because anything can happen. I’m not saying that this book has cliff-hanger ending. But the way events unfolding, the possibilities now seem endless. I get a feeling - which I really hope to be proven wrong - that things be bad before getting better soon. Fingers-crossed there’d be no casualty waiting in the corner for this pack of werewolf!
Advanced copy of this book is kindly provided by the author/publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Adventurous, actiony goodness! I liked it much more than I assumed I would – the plot was exciting, the characters were familiar in the best way and the steam level was off the charts. Recommend!
