I love this shifter series. The SWAT officers have become somewhat of an addiction for me to read about. In this one, we focus on Max. He has found Lana and she is 'the one'. I liked how protective her father was, but at the same time, he was a bit over the top. I felt so bad for Lana when the messes started because she was clueless! Max found her because her scent drew him but the fact that she doesn't know she is a shifter or that they even exist makes a couple scenes comical.
The danger is there and the action. Attraction, romance and much more! You can see something is coming for the team. There are just so many shifters in the area now and changes happening that no one anticipates. I'm not sure what is going to happen next but I can't wait to find out!
It was a 4/5 for me. I cannot wait for the next one!
Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

I loved the romance of this book. Loved how Max’s instincts took over and lead him to Lana, loved that Lana was just as smitten and went with things, even how she bucked her father to continue the relationship with Max. Things did go a bit wonky when Max let Lana know his secret, but due to some crazy events Lana was forced to believe him pretty quickly.
Those crazy events really threw the wolf pack as a whole, as they faced a danger they hadn’t face before and found out that they could be hurt bad. These same crazy events have been causing lone wolves or smaller packs to flock to Dallas for protection, hoping the SWAT team could help them out. While there were some injuries they came out of things pretty well, learned a bunch about their enemy and a way to start to fight back.
There was one part of the book that was hard to read about, Max’s past and how a family mirrored his experience a little too closely. I did like that Max was able to help and this family had a better outcome than Max’s.

Wolf Hunger by Paige Tyler is the 7th book in her wonderful SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) series. As always with Tyler, she continues to give us exciting, fun, pulse pounding action, hot alpha werewolves and a great sexy couple.
Max Lowry, one of the younger members of the SWAT team and our hero, is in a bar with his friends when he scents another wolf. He sees a beautiful woman, and knows she could be the ‘one’ (his mate).
Lana Mason, our heroine, is the daughter of Deputy Chief Hal Mason, who does not want her anywhere near the men of the SWAT team. Lana and Max hit it off immediately, as their chemistry is off the wall hot, but Max senses that Lana has no idea that she is a werewolf, since she has never shifted.
When Lana is informed that her friend has been murdered, she notices others following her. Lana manages to escape, and feels strange vibes happening to her body, including her ability to run abnormally fast; however she brushes it off. When Max is worried about Lana, he tries to explain to her what she is, and she becomes scared and leaves. But when she is forced into another dangerous situation, Lana will learn the truth.
In Wolf Hunger, the storyline changes, with the Hunters (those trying to kill werewolves) coming full force into the picture and a war is on the horizon. The Hunters have developed a chemical weapon that poisons and kills werewolves, putting all of our hero’s lives in danger.
What follows is an intense and exciting story, where Gabe (SWAT team leader) pulls everyone (including Lana) together for safety, and helping to find a cure for the poison. As everything escalates, Lana will find herself right in the center of the battle, with the Hunters determined to kill her, as well as the other werewolves. She will play a major part in helping her new friends survive.
There is also a side story, where Max is in the middle of helping a family with a abusive husband/father. Max as a teenager lived in that same type of environment, have lost a sister. It was nice added element watching Max try to help.
The Wolf hunters will now play a major part in future story lines, and the pack is also now getting bigger, with betas and omegas joining them. As we raced to the exciting suspenseful climax, we held our breaths as to who will survive. Another great addition to this series, especially with this game changer.
I love this series. It is always fun, exciting, sexy, with a fantastic group of characters that make up the SWAT team, and their eventual mates. Paige Tyler does it so well, giving us the excitement in every story, as well as a sexy romance. If you have not read this series, you should start it now with the first book.

What would you do if you learn your whole life was a lie. In Wolf Hunger, one woman will find out that what she knows about her life was a lie. And that her life and the people around her life is in danger because of it.
Wolf Hunger is book #7 of Paige Tyler’s SWAT Series about wolf shifters of the Dallas SWAT team. This book and like all the titles in this series was a pleasure to read. With the heart-pounding romance and the intense action.
What I like about this book and the others before. Is each book can be read as a stand-alone. I will recommend this title to any fan of paranormal readers who are looking for high excitement with plenty of hot romance.

Wolf Hunger by Paige Tyler is the next installment of the Swat series. A group of hunky wear wolves on the police swat team. Max has finally found the ONE! A special person that is his one and only mate. Lana has no clue she’s a wear wolf. She knows shes falling for Max. Then he tries to tell her about them being wear wolfes and she runs. Hunters are after her and have already killed people to get to her! Awesome addition to the series...cant wait for mor by this awesome author. Highly recommend you cant put it down.

Book 7 of the paranormal cop series SWAT, "Wolf Hunger" raises the tempo a notch as the dreaded werewolf hunters finally arrived in Dallas.
The story of SWAT Officer Max Lawry and Lana Mason, who happens to be another wolf shifter though she does not know it yet, "Wolf Hunger" is coming-of-age story albeit a very different narrative from the norm. For the first time in this series, author Paige Tyler relates the emotional and intellectual upheaval a human goes through once their inner wolf comes out. Beautiful in its telling, it also tugs at your heartstrings.
Now, if you are wondering if "Wolf Hunger" is all about drama, don't worry. The high octane chases and testosterone-filled scenes still dominate. The book remains as sexy as the others in the series. It is also a standalone novel. If this is the first book you've read in the series, I will not be surprised if you are contemplating to read Books 1-6. I recommend that you do.
"Wolf Hunger" is Rated M for Mature due to violence and sexual content.

Another exciting entry in the series! This series kind of blends from one book to the next, but they're always a fun read. Tyler is attempting to add a slightly new direction to the series- I look forward to the next book tonsee where she is taking us.

This series hits all of my buttons. From a great plot-line to intereseting characters to watching them build a community together. From the beginning we have learned about the legend of The One. Some of the guys are disbelievers, some try to run, but Max wants this. It is a nice twist.
Max may be young for SWAT but he is all Alpha. He had a terrible childhood that culminated in the destruction of his family causing his inner wolf to be freed. Max is good at his job and happy with his place in the pack. He knows the legends of The One and is excited about the possibilities.
Lana doesn't know how special she is. She only knows that she survived a horrific accident and that she is a medical miracle. Her father does NOT approve of her interest in the SWAT member but why? Will knowing the truth scare her away forever, or will it seal their fate?
This story unfolds faster than the last couple books. Max knows where he wants the story to go and tries to avoid the pitfalls his packmates fell into.

A paranormal story about SWAT team member Max and Lana, the chief’s daughter. The main issue is not whether they become a couple but rather if Lana will ever come to accept the fact that she is a werewolf. Both have their baggage to overcome and it comes to an obvious conclusion. Being that this is the first book I’ve read in this series, I may have read it with a handicap.

I confess: I'm highly addicted to Paige Tyler's yummie werewolves. So when Wolf Hunger was available on Netgalley, I just needed my hot alpha male fix... And this book was about Max, one of my favorite guys. How totally cool. And the most fun part: when he realizes that Lana doesn't know she is a shifter. So now all of the guys are giving advice on how to tell Lana she's a shifter. Xander, Cooper, Gage and of course Brooks all offer totally useless advice... Well, it serves him well after all his big talk in the previous books!
It is great to meet back the other guys as well as the story of Max growing up. Paige does an outstanding job in addressing a serious issue as child abuse in this book. And, while having experienced the fists of his father from up close and personal, you can also relate to the frustration Max feels when he tries to rescue an abused family and they deny the hitting. It is very sad to realize that this is something happening in every day live as well and you feel heartbroken for Max.
On the other hand, you can laugh at the antics of the squad while being on training sessions and while they rile each other during missions. And you fall in love with Lana who feels frustrated by being handled like a little girl by her father. What has chief Mason have to hide for his daughter? And why won't he allow Lana and Max to date? Find out more in this wonderful story in Wolf Hunger. Five out of five stars from me. Looking forward to the next part in the series. With a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I will never stop loving these books.
We've essentially moved on from the first stage of the series (the first few, which were mostly "whoa, werewolf swat exists" to the second stage which is "Now that you're okay with the WWSWAT, let's make things more exciting." So it's the second string werewolves who weren't mentioned in the first few books, but on top of that it's introduced a lot more problems for them--no longer is it just SWAT vs the bad guys, now it is Werewolves vs hunters (who are also bad guys, but not your conventional SWAT villains.)
It doesn't matter, I loooove it. No sooner had I finished this book than I was already thinking about what the next one would be--who'll be the recurring character, and what the new twist will be. (I'm assuming a hunter-wolf romance is in the near future!)

"<i>So, are you going to follow my advice since I actually have experience dealing with a woman who turned out to be <b>The One</b> in my life? Or do you go with Brooks' approach? Keep in mind that he tackles moving cars for fun.</i>"
So here's the thing. Had I just read this outright instead of backtracking to play catch up on this series, I might have enjoyed this more than I did. Or at least enjoyed it for what it was. But after six similarly formulaic romances that basically dole out the same situations, scenarios, sex and sad dialogue..? I'm over it.
<i>Max knew a few of the currently unattached guys in the Pack were scared the same genetic mutation that had turned them into werewolves in the first place was now mating them up with women its choosing simply to make the Pack stronger for what everyone assumed was a coming war with the hunters.</i>
The struggle I have with Tyler's <i>SWAT</i> series is that some of the story is actually interesting -- in the sense that the world has been building gradually and we get more pieces, more clues, more fleshed out components in each book outside of the couple-y drama -- and there are some throwaway lines that sneak up on me and make me laugh but the romance just falls really flat. It ends up feeling forced and at times awkward and literally some of the same exchanges happen almost word for word in every book both between the pack and between the hero of the moment and his <i>The One</i>. Don't even get me started on the standard cookout wrap scene and how every heroine remarks how much eyecandy there is 'but the hottest one is my man, definitely, for sure, but I can still drool over the rest and acknowledge how hunky they all are'. It's not a direct quote but it might as well be.
"<i>He actually said she's out of my league and that I need to back off. I felt like I was in some kind of frigging Taylor Swift music video.</i>"
There's definitely a market for the guaranteed happily ever after, sexy, thriller, rather uncomplicated (even with the supernatural element) read that Tyler offers here. A market I'm totally supportive of and one I take advantage of often. But some of the reactions, or lack thereof, the fact that some things just get glossed over, the increasing lack of emotional resonance to what would otherwise be heavy or poignant moments.. it makes it all even harder to swallow. At least for me. So while the over-arcing event that she's plotting out is interesting to see as it begins to unravel, even if some of the 'bad guys' we've seen so far have been super lame, it's definitely overrun by the paint-by-numbers scenes and interchangeable heroines.
"<i>How are your anger management classes going?</i>"
"<b>Not bad. I can look at you right now without giving in to the overwhelming urge to kick you ass, so I guess they must be working.</b>"
Of course, I said I was going to <s>one</s> seven and then done this series but <b>of course</b> there's a character I'm super interested in who has had some new and traumatic event happen to him in the background of this book.. and I kinda want to know what happens. So maybe come book eight I'll take a glance at the summary and see if Zane gets his moment. If not, though, I won't be waiting around to continue.
1.75 "you think IA will as understanding with my screw-ups as you are if I tell them my relationship status is complicated?" stars

Great addition to the series. We finally learn more about the Hunters and the edge-of-the-seat factor is through the roof. I only wish the villains were a little more fleshed out beyond EVIL and MUST KILL ALL WEREWOLVES.
Max and Lana are great together and I really enjoyed the new approach to Lana's wolf.
Overall a fun read.

This is book 7 in the SWAT series. I highly recommend reading the books that come before this one, or parts of it won't make sense. This one is about Max Lowry and Lana Mason. Lana is the daughter of Max's boss. And boy does her dad not want him dating his daughter!
Max has some issues. He was turned into a werewolf when his father shot not only him but killed his little sister too. Since then he has had control issues, and they seem to have gotten worse since he has met Lana-who he thinks is his One. Lana has just finished college and come back to Dallas to look for a job. She also has no idea she is a werewolf or that they even exist. Or that she is being hunted. This creates another whole set of problems when Max tries to explain and protect her.
I really liked Lana and Mason together. They both seemed to just click together and I liked how they could not only help each other but just be there for each other. There was suspense, laughter, action, and of course love. Of course now they know that there is for sure someone after them, and that they can be hurt when they didn't think certain things could hurt them. All in all, a great read and I can't wait for the next book to come! I'm ready for Zane's story now!

I keep thinking I've read the best story by Ms. Tyler but she keeps getting better. Excellent plot. Good solid romance

This was better than I expected!
I'm always hesitant with shifter books; all too often I end up reading ones where no one blinks an eye that someone is a werewolf. This book though wasn't the case at all! First they hide who they are; only a handful of people even know that the SWAT team are werewolfs.
Lana's reaction is exactly what I had hoped it would be when she learned the truth. She was in shock and actually believed she had imagined it all. THAT is the response that so many authors miss in these types of books!
The drama and suspense was great; it kept you intrigued until the end

Another great SWAT book by Paige Tyler! Enjoyed the characters and the slow buildup of the overall story giving hints of what might be coming! Looking forward to more!

A great paranormal romance novel that is full of action and suspense.

Alpha werewolf and Dallas SWAT team member Max Lowry follows a delectable scent at a police function to a gorgeous werewolf, Lana, whom he suspects is "The One" for him.
But she doesn't know she's a werewolf. And her powerful father doesn't want Max anywhere near her.
Then werewolf hunters target Lana, Lana learns the truth, and all heck breaks loose.
***
Max and Lana are likable characters who fall in love very quickly due to their soul mate pull. But their compatibility is believable, and Max is an attentive and protective boyfriend.
Max came from an abusive home, and there's a subplot involving domestic violence.
Ultimately, WOLF HUNGER focuses on the growing danger of wolf hunters. And they've become VERY dangerous, even to the alpha werewolves of the SWAT pack. The pack is stuck a blow, and the climax includes some real scares.
WOLF HUNGER is an exciting an suspenseful addition to the series. I suspect that the impact of this book will be felt for books to come.
ARC provided by the publisher. This is my honest review voluntarily given.

They are up against a threat that is deadly, the hunters. They are the werewolves of the DPD Swat team and the new wolves who find them everyday.
Max is a man with a horrible past and a member of that team. Losing his family and getting shot was the fanatic /traumatic event that caused his change.
Lana is his boss's daughter. And she is the one that will bring Max to his knees. She also is a werewolf, with a huge side of complicated.
While this book has some really funny parts it also has some very difficult parts to read about. It is an emotional rollercoaster of feelings and bad guys.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
