I am reviewing a copy of #Gospel through Barbour publishing/Shiloh Run Press and Netgalley:
In this day and age we are given five to ten seconds to persuade someone that what we are talking about is worthy of their time. We live in a world that is bombarded with information from social media to television, to advertising, even friends and acquaintances are all asking for our attention, causing us to adapt

Daniel Rice the founder of #Gospel will show us how the Gospel can radically change our everyday lives. He shows us how to break down the Gospel to reach to others.

I give #Gospel five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Rice writes, “This book is designed to be an open conversation, using current cultural references and stories to draw us into a thoughtful conversation about what the Gospel really is and how it radically alters our everyday lives.” (Loc 55/2095)

Rice is a good story teller. He tells stories about his own experiences, such as driving I-287 in a rain storm. He also retells historical stories, such as Scott's attempt to reach the South Pole. He then relates a truth of the Gospel to the story.

This would be a good book for people who are not familiar with the Bible. Discussing this book with another would be a nonthreatening way to begin a conversation about the Gospel.

You can find out more about the book and read the first chapter here.

My rating: 4/5 stars.

Daniel Rice is the founder of #Gospel LLC, an organization created to bring the Gospel to the current generation in a way that syncs with their culture and uniqueness. He had previously worked on staff at Calvary Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for ten years, doing worship, community life, young adults, and student ministry. He and his wife have five children.

Shiloh Run Press, 240 pages.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review. Since I read an ARC, the quote may have been changed in the published edition.

I was able to read #Gospel for free from Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The book is a guidance to our current state of being, the need/want to be born again and find a Church to attend to. This book will motivate you to read the Bible and alter your everyday life.

Using a hashtag (#) or meme aims to gain the attention of interested readers. A short span of attention, looking for keywords lead us to focus on what's interesting. Daniel Rice tries the same with #Gospel: Life, Hope, and Truth for Generation Now. The good old gospel of God's plan to restore the relationship with people cursed with sin and in need of a Saviour. God knows us and wants us to know Him, To that end, He provided His Word to make clear some very specific things that He wants us to know. The grand story of the Bible is packed with illustrations like Disney's Frozen, the 2010 Copiaopó mining accident, and Robert Scott's failed Antartic expedition.

Our self-centeredness, the idea of self-importance and admiration is challenged. We blame God for the mess we have made as a collective human race. God's law ultimately exposes our undeniable need for a Savior. With the letter to the Romans as guidance, Daniel Rice explains our state of being, atonement, the need to be born again, and get embedded in a local church. It's not a happily ever after because the author also copies Christ's warnings of persecution and suffering while following the Way.

Rice succeeds to present the #Gospel in an accessible way, Hopefully, it stimulates to action and further reading in the Bible.

A great modern approach to the bible, using new and inventive ways of engaging with a younger audience. Using the hashtag chapter titles, it'd be easy to discuss the book with a bible study group on social media and get the conversation started.
