I need to start off by saying I am not a typically a huge fan of contemporary romance books. I had high hopes for this book as the setting of only an hour away from where I live. It moved so slowly and i find myself skipping pages. It's a decent bok, just not my genre.

More sweet than steamy, this romance shows that sometimes "mother" knows best...well, in this case it's a fantastically hilarious aunt and her reliably amusing manservant...Without them, by the way, this story would be a bit on the dull side. The back and forth, denials, and secrets really aren't my cup of tea in a romance and there was a whole lot of all of that. Deacon interested me despite his flippant attitude and desire to have short flings to get his aunt off his back. He was the one that I warmed to the most, until he almost ruined it all by taking so long to come to his senses. Macy was a little difficult all through the story for me because she placed so much importance on the set up that she was blind to the bigger picture. It took a while for them to get on the same page, but there was plenty of sweetness to carry them through.

As the story started, I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this Christmas Tale. Macy was a little too much of a southern belle. She was extreme about her business of matchmaking and made it perfectly clear to Deacon that Two Love Lane was not a “dating service” then, in the next breath, she is running out the door in search of him and agreeing to his terms. But, as the tale was being wove by Kieran Kramer, I seriously became invested in the characters, the history of Charleston and how Macy got involved in the matchmaking business.

As for Deacon … well … talk about being straight-forward! Here was a man that knew what he wanted and made sure that he told Macy every time that they were together. Which, it turned out, was more than the time he spent with his “dates”. But, things backfire on him and the man who doesn’t believe in love is finding that love just may have found him.

I fell in love with Aunt Fran and George. I tolerated Celia. Ella, Greer and Miss Thing were enchanting. Ms. Kramer really wrote a beautiful love story. I loved, loved, loved the way she gave Deacon and Macy their happily-ever-after … it was sweet and so fitting for the both of them.

This was... boring. I didn't care about the characters, and the whole descendant of Cupid thing was kinda cheesy for me. I'm left pretty speechless, to be honest. Sometimes when I just feel "meh" about a book, I don't always know specifically why. I don't have full-fledged complaints. I just didn't every feel like picking it up again. It was a chore. But I seriously have no idea why.

Macy Frost works as a matchmaker in her own company with her three other friends in Charleston. They run a very successful business and have had amazing results in putting people together. So when Deacon Banks arrives in town and only comes to visit Macy to satisfy his aunt’s demands, Macy isn’t going to let him go that easily, when a woman who believes in finding true love wants Deacon to give her girls a fair chance, because she feels she can find him the right match.

Until she realizes that match is her.

And everything seems to go downhill from there…

Macy believes in finding love for others, but not herself. That to me is a bit awkward, especially when matchmaking is literally her job, but she pushes back if it’s her.

I had a super hard time with the characters in general and didn’t really feel connected to them, nor did I like them.

The girl’s try to set Deacon up with Macy, when they realize he has feelings for her and Macy is avoiding him, by conveniently ditching him on dates. When Macy catches on to what’s happening, she gets butthurt and feels betrayed like he had hurt her somehow and she can never trust him again. She says this, and then literally in the next moment does the exact same thing to Deacon’s Aunt, by going behind her back to set her up with a man and is so proud that she had thought of that plan.

Wait?

What?

Seriously?

God.

That made my head hurt. I didn’t enjoy it. I skimmed the last part. Deacon didn’t even want a serious relationship till like the last two pages of the book. It was weird, it was boring.. It just didn’t work for me and the characters just all felt two-faced, and flat.

Christmas At Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer is absolutely a book I never should have put off. I never should have confused this author for another author and been NERVOUS. This book is absolutely a delight to read and one that gave me a real good time. Talk about the PERFECT holiday read and one that just deserves a Netflix movie (it is a little bit risque for Hallmark).

Kieran Kramer’s Christmas At Two Love Lane is about this matchmaker named Macy who works at Two Love Lane. That is, along with her associates – two other women her age and an older woman who served as the dorm mother in college – Miss Thing. Anyways, Macy has a new job that’s tough. She needs to pair up her new neighbor Deacon on a few low key dates for the holiday season. This is to please his Aunt Fran who wants him to meet a nice Charleston girl and settle down. As it turns out though, the sparks FLY between Macy and Deacon.

This book is funny. It is sweet. It’s well paced. After reading, I immediately added the rest of the series to my TBR. FYI, the rest of the series is only three books. Kramer has a way of writing characters that feel so real. These characters are also people that you really root for. I loved this book and it gave me everything I needed while reading it.

ON A SCALE OF ONE TO BUDDY THE ELF, HOW MUCH CHRISTMAS SPIRIT DOES THIS BOOK HAVE?
Christmas At Two Love Lane hits a full Buddy The Elf for me. There’s so much baking. There are multiple love stories. We see forgiveness and treating people with kindness. A party to benefit Toys For Tots occurs. Family plays a big role. This book is bursting at the seams with Christmas spirit and if that is what you need – something that is OVER THE TOP, snap this one up. It is an actual joy to read.

Okay, let me prefrence this by saying I am not a huge fan of contemporary romance books. Somehow, this was given to me and I have tried and tried to finish this book. I just can’t get into this at all. It is just too slow for me and I feel bad but I can’t finish this.

I have been a fan of Kieran Kramer since the first Impossible Bachelors and House of Brady books. Both series are historical romances full of comic events and wonderful dialogue.

Contemporary romance is not my usual reading but when a favorite author writes it, genres go out the window. Kramer’s Two Love Lane series is absolutely charming. Readers looking for an engaging series about business women who don’t need a man to be complete will find this series truly satisfying.

Client becomes neighbor becomes friend then lover but will both parties realize they are in love? With so man friends and family helping the couple behind the scenes it is sure to work out despite’s some bumps along the way.

Perfect book for romance readers, Christmas fiction lovers and fans of southern fiction.

What a great cast of characters! Love them!! I laughed at them and sometimes wanted to shake them. Isn’t that when you read a story that you can really relate to and “get into”? What would you do if a real live star moved in next door to you? Especially with a hot nephew! But George! I want to hang with him awhile. Have you ever set someone up? What about having that as your job? Especially if you get to work with your best friends! Oh, and can’t forget Ms. Thing, who is an absolute hoot! I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.

Christmas at Two Love Lane is a charming sweet holiday read.

Deacon Banks is a dark, moody hunk that in no way believes in love. Lust most definitely, but love not a chance. To make his Aunt Fran happy Deacon promised her the best of best Christmas present, his openness to have a matchmaker find him some female companionship. What Deacon did not know was his life is about to take on new meaning.
Macy Frost character is adorable, but I have to say this heroine drove me a bit batty at some points of Christmas at Two Love Lane. I felt like Macy had to many back and forth moments for me. She is a loving, caring lady when it comes to others, but not with herself.

I enjoyed Deacon and Macy when they let their guard down long enough to let each other in. Macy has some serious issues that stems from a secret from her past. This secret is the road block to Macy’s heart. Can Deacon be the one to remove said road block too win her heart? Can Macy convince Deacon that he is worth having someone love him?

Supporting characters were just so much fun, even the Catty Celia added her own blend of fun. George and Aunt Fran were just plain delightful, charming. I found myself enchanted.The plot took on a sweet romance tract which I enjoyed. Even though I felt Macy a bit scattered in the end she was enjoyable.

Love this series......this time we’re dealing with Deacon and Macy .......they’re both denying any attraction or shall I say love ......he’s just looking for dates so against her better judgement Macy agrees to help even though it’s not a dating service it’s a find your soulmate service.......couldn’t put this down

I really loved Deacon and Macy in this book by Kieran Kramer. Having never read her before, I didn't know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised to find a new author that I just adored. This turned out to be heartwarming and enjoyable. If you're looking for an easy read...this is your book.

This gets harder to do, though, as Macy realizes she has feelings for Deacon herself. Will she break her strict no dating clients rule for a chance at her own match?

The book didn't feel as Christmas-y as I expected given that Christmas is in the title. There were some references to Christmas thrown in, but generally, I forgot the story was even taking place in December. The story was a light romantic comedy that people who enjoy the genre should like, but it won't win over those who aren't rom-com fans. I found it unbelievable that these two commitment-phobes were suddenly ready to get engaged after only a few weeks of not actually dating.

I really loved the cover the characters and the settings if you like Christmas stories it a good one..

This is first in series of Macy Frost and her friends opening their matchmaking service. While some of the writing and formulas are boilerplate, the book and concept as a whole is pretty fresh and, well, just plain sweet.

I sure do love traveling to Two Love Lane and Christmas there is just as wonderful. Quaint and gorgeous setting with fun characters keep the tale moving while adding good spirits to love and wonder. A perfect Christmas present for the reader in your life...

This was a fantastic holiday read. A charming southern town, a northerner and a Southern girl. What could possibly go wrong with this scenario? Look forward to visiting this town again.

Christmas at Two Love Lane is the first book in a new series by Kieran Kramer. A sweet holiday romance set in Charleston, I was really excited to read this and it did not disappoint!
Macy Frost heads a matchmaking business, something she takes very seriously, and not to be confused with a ‘dating service’. Her family has had a gift of successfully finding Cupid’s match for generations. Macy simply hasn’t found her match. When Deacon Banks arrives in her doorway requesting dates to appease his aunt who wishes him happily paired, but clearly with no intention of finding a match, Macy is at once offended and intrigued. Sparks (and arrows) fly as matchmaker and client spend time together and it becomes clear their match is inevitable. This is most certainly a slow burn, and the path to bringing Macy and Deacon together may be frustrating for those that prefer a quicker payoff. I loved how Charleston was a character in its own right, something I really seek out and enjoy in books. I recommend for those that enjoy contemporary women’s fiction, romance, and specifically holiday romance.
