I read this book in one setting in 2017. I can't believe I never reviewed it. I loved the quaky characters with a deep message.

I am a huge Colleen Hoover fan. I think everything she writes is worth reading, though some are better than others. Without Merit is one that I really liked a lot. Though it is considered YA I think most ages would enjoy it. It sheds a light on the secrets that a lot of families carry and try to keep hidden when there really isn't a need. It's sad that the world is all about smoke and mirrors and hiding your problems when things would be so much better if we weren't afraid to show our real selves to people. As with most of her books, it will probably make you cry and definitely make you think.

All the stars.

I spent my whole Sunday reading this book and trying to do life.

Then I'm in bed and I bust out in laughter, successfully waking all around me. (Those names though)

This book is heavy, its funny. It's all the things, just like life.

We are all trying to do life.

Leave it to Hoover to execute a story like this, one that brings all the emotions out to play. Another fresh and honest take from the mind of a crazy person.

B*tch you, Colleen. B*tch you.

(Ps. If you need a better reason to read this, Dre makes a cameo and there is dogs.)

Another great book by Colleen Hoover. A coming of age story that deals with such huge topics. There is so much more than just the plot of someone growing up. The dealing with depression and normalcy of living your life every day. Learning how to cope with what is going on in the world around you. This book isn't like her normal books and that's a good thing. There is something for everyone and while it's not her usual I loved it.

Love any and all Colleen Hoover. Amazing highly recommend. Can’t wait until she has another book coming out!

I absolutely adored this book. Colleen Hoover always writes intriguing characters with unconventional stories. A family living in an old church? Where do you typically read about something like that. I always enjoy Colleen’s books and I can’t wait for her next one.

"Not every mistake deserves a consequence.
Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness.”

Not my favorite CoHo book but she definitely doesn’t tell the same story twice. Felt like the characters could have been developed a bit more. Merit is a unique character unlike any I’ve read before. Every time I see a trophy I think of her.

Colleen will still be a 1-click buy author for me!!!

“Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness.” - Without Merit, Colleen Hoover

I love the quirkiness of the Voss family. Let's put this into perspective: the family has converted a church into a home, the mom who had cancer lives in the basement, the dad is married to the mom's nurse, the youngest sibling lives a rigid life with very little fun, the older siblings are perfect in nearly every way, Merit is a broken as they come. But is all of this really true? Is everybody in Merit's family as perfect as they seem?

This book left me stuck in memories of being a misunderstood teenager who felt alone and unloved. Colleen Hoover is a master at making you feel as if she is writing about you and your own life.

I love any book that Colleen Hoover writes!
She is the only author whose book I buy without even reading what the book is about.
I liked the book even though it is not one of my favorites of her books, but I will still be recommending it to people.

Love all things COHO. This is a YA standalone. Told from Merits standpoint. The characters were fantastic. The journey of not fitting in and knowing where you stand in a big family resonates with so many. The secrets kept to protect others and the tole it takes to carry those secrets. I was unsure if this book would be for me but Colleen pulled it all together spectacuraly.

I was so nervous going into Without Merit because I'd seen more mixed reviews than any of Colleen’s other books... but I couldn't love it more. I related to Merit so much, knowing all about dysfunctional families. Sagan’s encouragement to view things from a different perspective was eye-opening, as I realize I don't often give my family the same respect I give others, expecting more of them than others, forgetting they are human also. I also appreciate the information regarding today's issues, informing so many what they truly may not know, and the broaching of taboo topics. Thank you for talking about it.

I have loved Colleen Hoover since Hopeless and will continue to love her work, but I had a tough time with this one. I do always find it intriguing when a main character is kind of unlikable, and Merit is hard to like. There were lessons to be learned here, but I felt they were laid on a bit thick. Still, it's enjoyable and could be really beneficial to some readers.

Colleen Hoover does it again with another book that grips you from the first page. I loved Without Merit and how she seamlessly weaves in mental health and it’s importance. Well done, yet again.

I read it last year and forgot to send my review. As always Colleen is in her form. I love all her books. And this was ko different. It's mainly young adult. But Loved it nonetheless

This a book that changed my life. I can't say why without giving away details that will ruin the book. It is the story of Merit and her family. She tries to find her way through life's ups and downs. The story is well written and engrossing. I could not put it down and found myself laughing and crying. I highly recommend this book!

I downloaded this book thinking it was the full length novel ( it served me right for not checking lol) but that mistake and reading the first couple chapters had my left needing to read more and so I did.

I loved the book, absolutely everything about it.

Colleen Hoover is an incredible writer and NEVER fails to bring us a book that’ll keep you hooked and always needing more.

In true Colleen Hoover form, she out did herself with this book. She gave us a family dynamic no one was expecting, a boy no one could imagine and Merit. It was beyond what I was expecting and reached parts of my soul wasn't expecting.

Like every other CoHo book, this too hits outside the park.

Great characters with raw and emotional presence on the page.

Not quite what I was hoping for, but I know many CoHo fans will love this. I definitely miss her older writing, but totally understand the need to grow. She's still a phenomenal writer though, love how she creates her stories. Wish there was more romance.
