Overall this series is one that I enjoy and jump at the chance to read an ARC when available.

Rank and File is about Will and Brent. We meet Will earlier in the series, and you can't help but like his character. And you want to see him get his HEA. Will is an enlisted soldier in the Navy. He meet's Brent, on a domestic call. Of course, Brent is later discovered to be an officer. And while the past of DADT is gone, the no fraternization of officers and enlisted men is still very much in affect. But these two can't seem to get each other out of their thoughts. Something about the other pulls them towards each other and they cannot fight it.

Brent has been raised, conditioned, bred to be a Naval officer...but he quickly realizes that he is living a life he did not choose and does not want, so he makes a decision once and for all for himself. To be happy...and to be with Will.

Their relationship was simply sweet, sexy and HOT!

What a wonderful M/M romance following Senior Chief Will Curtis and Lieutenant Brent Jameson, two opposites that really do attract. They meet when Will is called to a domestic dispute involving Brent and a married couple, not the best first impression I know. However, it's obvious there is an attraction although neither is certain the other is gay. What does it matter anyway because officers and enlisted personnel cannot date, ever, it's the one written rule that Navy personnel have to abide by. When their paths cross again one night they cannot contain their attraction. Herein starts a forbidden, completely illicit affair. We all know though, if there’s something you can't have you only want it more. Told in dual POV, the chemistry between Will and Brent is off the charts (I got a little hot under the collar and fell a little in love with theses guys with each chapter I read). This is my first read by LA Witt and I look forward to reading more, I loved the writing and the characters. Even though it is the fourth book in the series it can be read as a standalone, I for one am thinking of going to go back to read the beginning of this series. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series, and I love L.A. Witt, but this one was too formulaic for me. It was similar to the previous book in this series with how the two main characters met, and then it was repetitive love scenes after that. Also, it was frustrating at times how little discretion the main characters had. I read the synopsis for the next book in this series, and I think the premise is much more promising, with a friends to lovers theme instead of people just meeting and boning right away, which is what happened in this book. If the previous book hadn't been so similar to this one, I think I would have liked this one more.

Interesting, but there wasnt anything especially original about it so it read as a bit generic. It's your basic love story, including the romance being a bit rushed. The antagonists flt a bit flat. Overall it wasn't bad, it was just a bit meh.

Another great addition to the Anchor Point series and a fabulous MM military romance. Rank & File is the forth book in this series and gives us two well developed characters in Will and Brent. I really enjoyed this book as I have all in this series and will definitely be recommending it to readers

One thing I have always appreciated about L.A. Witt’s storytelling is she doesn’t sugar coat the consequences that come with the reality of what her characters are doing and that really hit home in Rank & File, her latest book in the Anchor Point series. Meeting under unusual circumstances two men are inexplicitly drawn to one another despite one is an officer and one is enlisted, but meeting again sets off a chain of events that has one questioning everything and one feeling worse than when his 6 year relationship ended. Combustible attraction leads to so much more in this taboo, but utterly sexy romance.
Senior Chief Will Curtis is career enlisted, with almost 20 years under his belt he intends to retire at 30 after making master chief. He loves his job despite the days it can be tiring and upsetting, but keeping people safe and upholding the law is what he does and he is proud of it. So when he meets Lieutenant Brent Jameson on a domestic dispute call, he’s thrilled it was deescalated quickly and the young lieutenant’s career won’t be on the line, but the attraction he feels for a man who is clearly not gay and on top of that an officer drives him to the local gay bar to get him out of his head. What he doesn’t expect is to find him there or the intense sexual connection they explore immediately.
I appreciated that these two men knew upfront that they shouldn’t be together and agreed that they’d do a one and done, but the absolute chemistry between them made it hard for them to stay away. Given that they had to keep their relationship on the down low, they spent a lot of time locked away in each other’s apartments and a lot of that time in bed. I did feel we got to know these characters better than some in the other books in this series which was a plus for me and I was thrilled they took some time out to get away and be together out in public, but the secrecy not only in their Navy lives but with their families was tough. It was tough on me, so for them I can only imagine. I’ll be honest, I wanted to see both men confront their families face to face and say, “This is me, either accept me or get out of my life.” I was however thrilled that even though it was difficult, the right decision was made and these two are well on their way to a happily ever after.

Will and Brent met at a domestic police call, and unfortunately for Brent, he was involved. But as Will drives him to his car, both men can't keep their eyes off each other. But while sparks fly and chemistry ignites, their relationship but stay secret because their is a Navy rule of no fraternization between enlisted and commissioned individuals. If they are found out it could be the end of both their careers. Will the secrecy be too much? Will someone figure out they are together? Will one leave his career behind to put love first? This story is the next installment in a great series. L.A Witt really knows how to create wonderful characters with a heartwarming plot. The pages just melted away and I was sorry to see the story end. Cannot wait for more in this series.
