When I started reading No-One Ever Has Sex on Christmas Day I immediately realised that this is part of a series, I just had to read the previous two books before completing this one. I was not disappointed as I found the books hilarious, I constantly laughed out loud when reading them. There are a lot of scenes in this book that is so funny with all the characters really great and likable. I sometimes wondered if Ian and Braindead did not have the same parents, they are both so clueless in a funny way. I just loved the Nativity and many more scenes in the book. I hope Tracy continues with this storyline.
Great fun and highly recommended.

This is the third book in the No-One Ever Has Sex series. Having not read the others, personally in areas I did feel I was missing out on not knowing the characters backgrounds more so would recommend reading them in order. It certainly made me want to go back and read the others as it sounds like i’ve been missing out on some great books.

Christmas is a stressful time at the best of times but for Katy and Ben it’s even more so. For one Katy’s mum has invited herself and her new boyfriend to come and stay and Katy has a fabulous job opportunity to shoot off to Australia for a week just before Christmas!

Katy’s mum wound me up never mind poor Katy. I wanted to tell her to go elsewhere and leave them to have time for themselves. Her demands and expectations just riled me the further into the story I got. I half expected a murder when she turned up but that’s the crime lover in me. How Katy keeps her cool with her I have no idea.

There are quite a few characters to meet and get to know. It felt like a busy house hold where people are constantly coming and going. It made Katy’s and Ben’s life seem even more manic. I loved Ben’s character, the stay at home husband that does some part time work at the local school. The nativity that he is organising was just brilliant and really brought the festive feel to the story.

Overall this is a very light hearted read but it does give us an insight into the daily struggles of one family’s lives. I did enjoy how the tables are turned and Katy is the main bread winner with Ben taking on what most people assume is the woman’s role. It certainly made an interesting story line for the aspect of wanting another baby as it changes everything.

No-One Ever Has Sex At Christmas was an enjoyable and fun read. It brings to life the stresses of family and life at the festive time of the year. The perfect read in the run up to Christmas or to even give as a present.

This was the first time I have picked up a book by Tracy Bloom and my goodness I was not let down! I absolutely loved it, I laughed my head of at so many parts it is soooo hilarious!

The characters Katy and Ben are clearly so in love and meant to be together and they've had a time of it and from what I have gathered they've been through a lot, but they've got through it together and that's what I love seeing couples stick it out and end up so happy.

So of course in this book was going to throw a rock in the works and cause another problem for the pair and indeed it did! If it wasn't Katy's mother it was the prospect of moving to Australia.

There are so many laugh out load moments right the way throughout the book that keep you hooked and make the book so easy to read.

I am definitely going to go back and read the previous books in this series and get to know Ben & Katy better because they are absolutely fabulous characters.

Really enjoyed this book even though I haven't read the others in this series.
The book flits between the lives of two families, interlinked by something I assume happened in one of the other books.
Funny, witty book which is well written and easy to read.

Katy and her husband Ben are spending their first Christmas in their new house with their 4-year old daughter. Katy is overworked and Ben wants a second child, which leads to a bit of a gap between the pair. Throw in a mother-in-law who's decided to leave her husband for a younger man and a once in a lifetime job offer and the result is definitely not the relaxing Christmas they'd hoped for.

Before reading I didn't know that there were other books in the series, but that does not mean I couldn't follow the story, so it works perfectly as a standalone. The novel can be read in one sitting as it is written very well and I'd say it's a perfect holiday read.

The only thing I'd like to remark is that for me personally, the book was a bit more serious than I had expected. The cover states that it's a hilarious rom-com, but I wouldn't classify it as such.

While this book may not be for me, I'm sure it will appeal to others.

I didn't initially realise this book was part of a series featuring recurring characters but enjoyed nevertheless. I don't think you necessarily need to read the earlier books to enjoy but it may help to understand the back story of a couple of the characters.
The story follows the lives of Katy and Ben and their various family members and friends in the run up to Christmas. Katy and Ben are happily settled in their dream home with their 3 year old daughter Millie. Ben in particular is keen to expand their family with another baby but Katy, as the main breadwinner, is less sure but aware that the clock is ticking being slightly older than Ben.
Katy's work on a recent pitch results in a fantastic job offer that would definitely delay any chance of another baby and this causes some cracks to appear in the relationship with Ben.
This was an enjoyable and funny read but felt slightly chaotic at times with the ending feeling a bit rushed. Some of the stories around the supporting characters also felt a bit pointless (what happened between the nanny and Ian?) but overall a good and easy read. Thanks to Netgalley for the advance review copy.

This was my first ever book by Tracy Bloom, and I didn't know it this was part of a series. If I knew, I might have not wanted to read this book, but I loved it! Especially, chapter seven with the Skype conversation with all the things going on behind the screen was hilarious. Well, to me. Therefore, it deserves a spot on my special shelf for a rainy day.

And with that, I am looking forward to the Easter Special follow up!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

I wanted a break from my usual thriller/crime reads and this was the perfect antidote. It is the next in a series of books with similar titles and all the characters have appeared in the previous books, although it can be read as a standalone as well.
It was a quick read that had a few laugh out loud funny moments and I am sure it will be a popular holiday read.

Katy and Ben are married, Ben would like another baby as he is a stay at home dad to their 4 year old but Katy who has a full time job working for an advertising agency isn’t so sure she wants another baby.

Matthew and Allison have 4 year old twins, a three year old and another one on the way.

Ben, Katy, Matthew and Allison have a history together and when the twins join the playgroup where Ben works, things can only go horribly wrong. Throw into the mix Ben’s best friend Braindead and you have got disaster waiting to happen.

Although you can read this as a stand alone it’s probably best to read the others in the series first to get an understanding of the story and where everything fits.

This is a good light hearted book with plenty of humour that is well worth reading.

No-one Ever Has Sex on Christmas Day by Tracy Bloom seems to be a part of a series that includes the books, No-One Ever Has Sex On A Tuesday and No-One Ever Has Sex in the Suburbs even though it wasn’t advertised as such. All of the books seem to feature the same characters though and be a continuation of their stories from those previous books which I haven’t read myself. And while this story may have made a bit more sense with the background information from the other books it was still understandable on it’s own.

In this book it’s just before Christmas time when we pick up Ben and Katy’s lives with Ben having given up his job to be a stay at home dad who is excited for Christmas and his only wish for a present being another baby. Katy in the meantime is a working career driven woman with an amazing opportunity coming her way that needs to decide what she’d want more, a promotion or another baby.

Along with Ben and Katy there are so many other characters in the book that it sometimes became hard to keep track. Matthew is Katy’s ex with whom she was with before her marriage to Ben but now Matthew is married too with several kids and a wife about to give birth yet again who has gone a little over the top with her pregnancy hormones. There’s also even a character named Braindead who has his own relationships woes, along with the Katy’s mother wanting to bring her new “toy boy” to stay for Christmas and so the book goes on and on…

I’d have to say what first comes to mind if I were asked to describe No-one Ever Has Sex on Christmas Day….it’s a hot mess! But as bad as that may sound it’s a hilarious hot mess from start to finish. I was just beginning to read this book and found myself laughing out loud and some of the opening pages and knew that no matter where the story went that in the end I’d like this to some degree. I’m happy to say now that when finished there were laugh out loud moments all throughout and it’s worth the read just for the giggles. It probably would have been better to know it was part of a bigger story but in the end I’m still glad I picked this one up just for the chuckles.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

No-one Ever Has Sex on Christmas Day is a cute and fun book with some great humor. Now, overall I did enjoy reading it and enjoyed the hectic lives of the characters within the pages. However, I felt lost because I didn't realize that the characters from this book appeared in other ones. Perhaps if this is written in the description of the book so readers don't get confused? I certainly felt like I was missing something and had I known this was a follow-up I probably would have read the first few books first. Other than this, readers who have enjoyed the authors previous novels will certainly enjoy this one.

When you request an ARC, which is granted to you, you're excited and start reading immediately, but then your face drops and you give up at 25% through the book, you'll feel like i'm feeling now, writing this review. :(

Why, you ask? Since the blurb is so promising? Well, I felt like nothing happens in this book. It starts with a married couple, him excited about Christmas and decorations and having another baby and her totally detached, in need of alcohol and not sure about the baby thing.
I was bored out of my mind, especially when I read about Braindead (H's best friend), or Rita & Carlos (the h's mother, who found herself a new "toy-boy", 10 years younger than her, making him 64), or Matthew and Allison. Matthew is Katie's ex (Katie is the h), they had an affair and then she got pregnant and didn't know who's baby it was - her husband's or her ex's - wtf is this???
Then there was Allison's meltdown because her 3yo twins were donkeys in the Pre-School's Natality Christmas play and that's about it.

I felt like there was no connection anywhere. First of all, my pink fairytales should be about two people finding themselves, falling in love and living together happily ever after. It felt super strange to be reading about an already married couple. It was like i was waiting for them to break up or something. Then, I got introduced to Matthew and Allison without know who they are, what's happening. Eventually, i got it, but....

The blurb made me think it was going to be a hilarious book, but i didn't laugh once in the first quarter I managed to read. More than that, there was a joke about baby Jesus which i felt little insulting and i must say I'm not religious at all.

So, that's that. I feel really bad giving a 1* review to an ARC I requested, almost feeling guilty, feeling like it's my fault, but i had to be honest.
You should give it a chance, though. Maybe it's just me and maybe you'll like it well enough.
Don't trust my judgement, make your own decision. :)

ARC received via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you love British humor and can’t look away from a train wreck, then Tracy Bloom’s No One Ever Has Sex on Christmas is the perfect holiday read for you. I’ve never read this author before, but picked this book up for review because the title caught my eye. At times it was hard to keep up with the different “groups” of characters this book covers which is definitely more women’s fiction than romance, but it did make me laugh and yet was oddly touching as well.

The majority of the story centers on Katy and Ben whose lives have been anything but normal. While dating Ben, Katy has a one night stand with an old flame and when she winds up pregnant the paternity of her child is under question and Ben was thrown for a loop, but now with their 4 year old daughter and a new home, Ben is determined to make this their best Christmas ever all while trying to persuade Katy it is time to add to their family.

There are a lot of characters in this book Ben’s mates, Katy’s co-worker who is her best friend, people who work at their daughter’s preschool where Ben works as a teaching assistant, not to mention the kids and their parents at the school. Throughout this book, the reader is reminded of just how small the world can be as lives are intertwined. To top it off Katy is offered a job out of the country making her question her career and if the time is right to add to their family and her parents have separated and her Mum plans to come for a visit with her new “boy toy” in tow. See, a crazy train wreck that while fun to read at times became a bit tiresome.

Overall, No One Ever Has Sex On Christmas was a fun, crazy, holiday read.
