*I received this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* Decoding Michaela written by Lyn Horner is the second installment in a short book series. From the first page, we pick up immediately we're the previous novella left off with Dev Medina, an ex code breaker, attempting to track down one of the mystical Guardians entrusted with protecting an ancient scroll prophecy that could alter the world as we know it. When Dev finally finds the Guardian, Dr. Peterson, he finds himself getting more entwined with a secret group called the Hellhounds bent on destroying the Guardians and taking over the world. Added on to that, through the help of Dr. Peterson, Medina discovers a secret about his own Irish family tree. Will Medina succeed in saving the Guardian he was assigned to protect? Are his dreams being caused by his Druid ancestors to help him save the world, or by the sinister forces trying to find each Guardian? Horner paints a delicious tale of magic and paranormal romance to make readers enthralled in this story of fate and destiny.

Very heart wrenching story. Loved the characters and the story line. Dev and Michaela were great together, and it had a great combination of suspense and romance. The paranormal aspect was written well, and not hard to believe.

Dev and Michaela's story is one that will sweep you into a whirlwind romance. He steps in to protect her from Hell hounds who seek an ancient scroll from her as one of the Guardians. He's also been dreaming about a woman who turns out to be the one he should protect.
The story is short and the pace is steady and then picks up immediately towards the end and then slowly pans out.
It was a good afternoon read, I enjoyed it.
I'm grateful to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for giving me a free copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is an interesting read, with Dev Medina and Michaela thrust into an adventure that was rife with deadly circumstances. As an ex-special forces, in my opinion, Medina could have been a bit more restraint in getting into bed with Michaela and more circumspect with the responsibility placed upon, that of protecting and keeping her safe from harm's way. It has a great storyline with good characters, it also looks like the ex-special forces man had lost his edge quite early in the adventure. With Michaela being his dream girl he should have done a better job at protecting her. Outside of Medina not being very impressive it’s a good story, that deserves a must read.

This is the second book in the series and it did not disappoint. I enjoy how the stories are brought together and the interaction between the characters. The way that Danu and Michaela meet and the troubles that follow make this an exciting read. I am going to read the rest of the series and cheer for an awesome conclusion to everything. This is a fast paranormal romance read that does not disappoint. Thank you NetGalley and Lyn Horner for allowing me to read this book and write a honest review.

Decoding Michaela is another interesting PNR story that kept nicely with the theme of the series and followed on perfectly from book one.

Dev and Michaela are intriguing characters and their story tells a captivating tale of the evil that is unseen but ever present. I really enjoyed their story and look forward to what the author has planned next!
