Dr Alexandra Rose has the perfect life, or so she thinks. Her husband is a well-known cardiologist who is having an affair with the hospital administrator. They have three great sons who they each love very much. On their 20th anniversary he tells her he is leaving. She is having trouble with believing he would do this to her and the boys. Her book club is a great help with the strength she needs to care on. He takes the boys to live with him. Tells the court she can't be trusted because she dropped a pot of hot water that got on the youngest boy's legs. Alex can't believe he would do anything to hurt her or the boys. But the wonderful husband who now is the complete opposite is behind all of her problems. Can she wake up and get her life on track again and get the boys back home? Alexandra Rose, a successful chiropractor, heads to Las Vegas to spend her twentieth anniversary with her husband Gabe, a heart surgeon. She packs lacy lingerie and prepares to seduce Gabe back into the romance of their marriage. Unfortunately, Gabe not only is unreceptive, he announces that he's been having an affair and wants a divorce.

Carol Soloway immediately makes you feel sympathy for Alex. She explains Gabe's complaints about Alex's infrequent interest in him through every day family busyness. The two share three active sons, and each has a medical practice. The day-to-day maneuverings and management of their family move Alex away from being Gabe's wife and into more of a focus on motherhood. You sympathize with her. You worry for her.

To help Alex navigate her way through this new life, Soloway gives her a tight band of friends who support Alex and provide necessary guidance. Not that Alex won't occasionally frustrate you with some of the decisions she makes. There are several times in which you will want to shout at her to stop doing what she's doing because she's making things worse.

There are a few plot points that are a bit of a head-scratcher and require a suspense of logic. Yet you forgive these lapses because the story is so gripping. You want to know what's going to happen with Alex, particularly since Gabe is determined to get custody of their children. You want her to be victorious, even as Soloway makes you wonder how that will happen.

My biggest problem with this book is its title and cover. Both are misleading. The titular sex relates to something Gabe tells Alex, yet it doesn't have much more significance in the novel. And the cover is just completely unrelated to anything you read. Yes, Alex has a bit of a sexual awakening, but it's hardly the point of her personal growth.

This was a super read I was hooked from the very first chapter.This is a real page-turner and such a realistic read.Anyone who has ever been betrayed will be able to relate to this book I know I did.A fantastic well-written book and wait till you get to the twist a super read I cannot recommend it enough.

I literally couldn't put this down! An absolutely engrossing read. I could relate to a lot of things and love the way it was written.

I could not put this book down once I began reading it. Very good book on relationships, life and how one must carry on even when life seems to be falling apart. The subject matter has been written about before, but not like this. This is a good book for any one who wants a good, enjoyable read.
