ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I would recommend reading Savage Rising to all Katie Reus fans. It's fast paced and keeps your attention for the entirety of the story.

Fast paced suspense, romance around former marine Zac Savage and Olivia.
Olivia never wanted her past to catch up with her until her former life shows up at her door asking for one last heist. She never wanted her daughter to know her past so she calls only one she can count on and heads to Redemption Harbor.
Zac is starting a new job with his new client is Olivia and her deaf daughter. He wanted to protect them from everything that's going on. He wanted to keep them safe and he was playing a role of her boyfriend and keep them at bay. Their sparks were flying from the beginning and she isn't sure if this is just simply playing a role.
When she finds out, her beloved nanny was kidnapped, she will play along and do this heist for one last time. As long as Zack is next to her, she felt safe and daughter safe.
Olivia and Zac will need to work together to keep her past in the past and move on from her past.

Story moved quickly and it could be standalone. I do enjoy reading Katie Reus series. This didn't disappoint. Thanks to Netgalley and KP press for my ARC in exchange for honest review.

Another awesome book by Katie Reus. This is the second book in the Redemption Harbor series and is the story of Zac Savage and Olivia Carter. It was extremely well-written, I cared a lot about the characters, and their chemistry is super hot. Not to mention it's a single mom story. Seeing how much Zac cared for Olivia's daughter made me all mushy lol. I can't wait to read more in the series.

SAVAGE RISING by Katie Reus. Well, Ms. Reus roped me and never let go! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Zac and Olivia are hot together, and, individually I really liked them as well. Our Hero Zac - is a bad boy turned sooo good! And Olivia, despite some upsets and some negative things from her past, is a good person and mother.
The story flows smoothly and has action and drama, and I couldn't put it down. Each character was well developed - I truly felt I knew and understood them. Ms. Reus writing style is effortless and, as the reader, I never was lost or felt unsure of the happenings as well as the feelings and emotions each character felt. Ms. Reus has another success on her hands and wonderful addition to this series. (received ARC from NetGalley for honest reivew)

The amazing story of a group of friends that have come together to offer their services as badasses to those of us in the world that may need their skills continues in a big way as Zac Savage finds himself wrapped around the little finger of not one, but two women that are destined to steal his heart. This series is one that I decided to read simply because I am a little bit obsessed with Katie’s ability to weave a tale and wish I could do what she does with even half her ability. I loved the first story and couldn’t see how she would be able to top it, and while I will say this one didn’t quite TOP that one, it was a wonderful story with lots of action, suspense, danger, emotion, and passion. Savage has lived the majority of his life not believing he deserved the love of any woman, much less a good woman, one with a special daughter, like Olivia, but when she is in need of his unique brand of assistance he steps up and finds himself ensnared by her big-time. Olivia left her life of petty criminal stupidity a long time ago when her daughter came along, but now she is being yanked back in and the danger around her is too real to deny. She runs to her best friend with only the slimmest hope of Skye and her new company being able to help, but when she meets Zac Savage she isn’t prepared for the passion he ignites in her blood. Working together to overcome the obstacles to her freedom and her safety and that of the most important people in their lives, Zac and Olivia soon find they’re falling hard for one another. But when the danger passes is there really a chance for them to lead a life together or will the fire between them fizzle and die? I LOVED Savage and can guarantee that if I ever met a man like him in real life there is no way I would let him get away from me, but even better was his willingness to stand beside—or sometimes in front of—Olivia as she fights her way free of her enemies. Savage is obviously seriously damaged by his past, but the love and devotion he’s ready to offer to Olivia and her daughter are nothing to be scoffed at and I was thrilled to watch him open his heart at last. Olivia has made a few mistakes in her youth, but haven’t we all? Now she is paying for some of them unfortunately and she has dragged the man she has come to love into danger with her. It is obvious that Olivia is remorseful for the drama and pain she is causing, but her own fears and insecurities got in the way of her ability to accept her happiness a lot of the time. This is the biggest problem for us women I think; once we’ve been burned it is SO hard for us to ever accept when something good is offered. In the end Olivia finds a way to show Savage that she can be the woman he needs and opens her life to him and offers them both the chance they need for true happiness. I loved the ending of this story and cannot wait for the two love-stories that were hinted at in the end to come next. This is shaping up to be another great series by Ms. Reus, though I am honestly not surprised in the least!

This is the Second book in the Redemption Harbor series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is Zac and Olivia's story they team up when someone threatens her daughter. They pretend to be together but what will they do when the attraction to each other keeps getting stronger. They both have plenty of baggage and that will just complicate things even more this is a great addition to the series and I really enjoyed it I loved these two together and Zac was so sweet when he was with Valencia we really got to a softer side of him.

If you love romantic suspense, "Savage Rising" is one you won't want to pass up. I like the author's writing style as she brings the characters to life for the reader. You are given a great fast paced story with intrigue, suspense, a growing love between the characters, and all things that make up a really good book. The blurb tells you everything you need to know about Zac Savage, Olivia Carter, as well as her daughter Valencia, to get a feel for the 2nd book in the 'Redemption Harbor' series. That being said, I can tell you this is a stand alone with a HEA for Zac, Olivia, and Valencia, as I have not read book one "Resurrection" as yet. I do plan to change that as this is a series I can sink my teeth into. A great addition to your book library. I would like to thank NetGalley and KR Press, LLC for gifting me "Savage Rising". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.75 Stars!

I love the Redemption Harbor series and Katie writes fabulous romantic suspense. I'm so pleased I've been granted ARC review status so I get my hands on these stories as soon as possible.

Olivia is the college roommate of Skye from the first book in this series. She is probably one of the only friends Skye had over the years before Colt and his friends. Olivia knows the only safe place to go is to Skye when her post college, pre-daughter's life comes back to threaten them. Olivia has a daughter by her ex, Heath Price. When it became apparent that their daughter, Valencia, was deaf he walked away from both of them. Olivia turned her life around for Valencia and never looked back. Unfortunately Heath's ex boss, Kyle Neely needs her safe cracking skills and makes a violent demand for her to do his next heist.

Skye jumps into the mess with both feet and set up a way for their Redemption Harbor team to work with her to rescue Olivia's unofficial foster mother, Martina. Martina has been kidnapped to guarantee Olivia will participate in the upcoming heist. Skye volunteers her teammate Zac Savage to be Olivia's "obsessively possessive lover" who sticks to her like a second skin. Pretend chemistry becomes very real, very fast. I adore stories with guardian protector heroes and Savage has this in spades. Katie is a master at weaving twists and turns making the story a page turner with surprises around every corner.

I loved everything about this story and can't wait to get my hands on the next one. Thank you Katie for this ARC opportunity and I'm sorry it's a bit late.

I really love Katie Reus. I am a fan of this series and all her characters are likeable and genuine. This was not one of my favorites in the series, but I did like many of the plot elements. This was something new and a bit different, which I appreciate. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is book two of the “Redemption Harbor” series. This book could be read as a standalone but the introduction in the first book is too good to pass up. I really enjoy reading this author; the romantic suspense is written nicely as with most of her books, I love the action that she brings us. I love that the author gives us strong heroines and hero’s that give us good dreams.

***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.***

I love a good fake fiancé story, particularly when the rest of the suspense sends the ol’ ticker into overdrive. Katie Reus brings the excitement once again with the second installment of her Redemption Harbor series, and it doesn’t disappoint. When single mother Olivia Carter is pulled back into her former life as a thief, she is forced to rely on Zac Savage as her backup. They’re both great characters, robustly written with equitable strengths and vulnerabilities … a personal favorite of mine. The romance progresses nicely, the story believable and the suspense engaging. All around, this was one of my favorites this year.

What’s it About? The day Olivia became a mom she vowed to protect her daughter from the mistakes she made but when she’s blackmailed into doing one last “job” by a very dangerous man, Olivia takes her daughter to Redemption Harbor for help. There she meets Zac Savage, a dark and deadly man who promises to help her and keep her daughter safe. Olivia goes undercover with Savage posing as her obsessive ex in order to root out her enemies and end their hold on her. However, things get more complicated when Olivia and Savage’s attraction takes a realistic turn and the stakes get higher.

Overall reaction to the story? Katie Reus is one of the few authors who can write an addictive romantic suspense plot with two strong leading characters and a heck of a lot of heat, all while keeping each story different and engaging. Savage Rising surprised me with the heroine though. I was fully expecting her to fall flat especially when compared to the previous book’s heroine but she didn’t! Olivia had a few secrets and skills of her own which brought a whole new level of “cool” to the story. Now I’m going to have a hard time picking a favorite! This book definitely keeps up the pace that the previous book set and gave me something to look forward to in the next book.

Describe the hero in five words: Bossy. Stubborn. Protective. Intelligent. Loyal.

Did you like him? Yes. He was sexy in a scary way.

Why? Savage definitely lived up to his name. He was scary good at his job which up until now, I’m not sure what exactly it entailed, just that he was good at it. However, he also had a strong loyalty to his longtime friends and that said more about him than any skill set. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them and that included going undercover with a woman he didn’t know in order to protect her and her child. Of course, Savage also has a protective streak a mile wide and a soft spot for Olivia’s daughter. All that made him an ideal hero to me. He was all alpha but with a heart of gold.

Describe the heroine in five words: Surprising. Intelligent. Protective. Kind. Strong.

Did you like her? Yes.

Why? Olivia was a surprise. I honestly thought she would be a bit on the dull, mousy side and need constant protection. I was so wrong. Olivia had quite the past and that left her some mad skills that put her side by side with Savage when it came to the undercover work. She was definitely not what I was expecting and I loved that about her! She was a strong, capable woman who found herself in over her head but never expected to be rescued, just helped a little along the way.

Let’s talk about the romance: Savage and Olivia had some mad chemistry together that started almost the minute they met. I say almost because they had a bit of a rocky start right before they were introduced. However, they just lit up sparks whenever they were around each other which helped when it came to their cover as ex-lovers reunited. I enjoyed the fact that Katie Reus portrayed Olivia as a mom AND a woman. These two complimented each other so well, Savage was the shield against the rough parts of life and Olivia was the softness needed to balance out those rough parts. Olivia also brought out the tender side in Savage and while no one would ever accuse him of being a softie, he was a natural at being a romantic and at hanging out with Olivia’s daughter.

How about that supporting cast? Savage’s close knit group are like a loud, dangerous family who know about fifty ways to bury a body but you know what? I love that group. They’re fiercely loyal to one another and nothing is off limits when it comes to protecting one of their own. They fight with each other and may even come to blows but at the end of the day they will always be there for each other. I also loved Olivia’s daughter, Valencia. She was a special girl who was wise beyond her years and was just too easy to like.

Click It or Skip It? Click It. Savage Rising showcases Katie Reus’ talent for high stakes action, hotter than hot chemistry, and likable characters.

Can I just start by saying how much I love Katie Reus? I've read at least twenty of her books, and I will likely read at least twenty more. I'm loving this series, so I hope it goes as long as the Red Stone series has. So, about this story, Savage was absolutely unbelievably sexy and always in charge. Olivia was confident and was quite quite capable of taking care of herself in normal circumstances, but these weren't normal circumstances. She knew she needed help, and she knew Redemption Harbor was the only place she would find it. Pretending to be Savage's very significant other was not exactly what she had in mind though. It's not exactly Savage's idea of fun either. He has some preconceived notions about the kind of mom who gets herself into this kind of trouble, but he will do his job regardless. Little does he know that he has read Olivia all wrong. Once he realizes his mistake, the sexual tension ramps up just as much as the danger and action do, making their mission riskier than ever. This novel was everything great I always expect from Katie Reus!

I received an ARC from Net Galley.

I read this book over a couple of days and was annoyed that I had to keep putting it down to go somewhere. The story just hooked you in. Olivia was a single mom with a deaf daughter. She had led a life of crime with her former boyfriend, but was now working with security companies to find flaws in their systems. She gets blackmailed and turns to friends for help. Zac Savage was a tough former Marine who walked away from his previous job when it compromised his core values. He is part of the team that helps Olivia get free from the blackmailer. There were several twists is this book that I didn't see coming but they were perfect. Zac and Olivia were meant to be together. I read this book through NetGalley for a honest review and loved it. I enjoy Katie Reus's books. They just keep you hooked right from the beginning.

Years ago Olivia made mistakes she wished she hadn't. Now her past is coming back to haunt her and unless she finds a way to work alongside Zac Savage, she'll have no hope of overcoming the trouble that's coming. However, with the clock ticking and danger closing in, Olivia and Zac may find themselves in too deep. Will Zac be able to protect Olivia from the danger, or will their happy ever after be thwarted?

With the first book of this series utterly engaging and getting to know several of the secondary characters in it, I couldn't wait to read what would happen next for the Redemption Harbor crew and learn more about their bond, and I've got to say that this story does not disappoint. Really, it was extremely entertaining, fast-paced and had me on the edge-of-my-seat when Olivia and Zac face the danger they do. The way this story started sets the fast-pace of this story and had me hooked, as Zac is full of surprises with what he's done in his life. However, it was from the moment the heroine was introduced into this story that had me reading quickly, determined to discover whether Zac and Olivia would be able to find a way to work together, considering the way they meet and Olivia's need to defend herself when it comes to Zac judging her.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to everything this couple go through such as whether Olivia still is as good as she once when it comes to the skills needed to pull off the job someone wants her for. However, the dialogue isn't all intense. There are moments that warmed my heart, especially when Zac interacts with the heroine's daughter and when the main and secondary characters are conversing. Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she was to protect those she cares about, even if it means putting herself in danger and the possibility of being caught by those that could put her in jail. I also liked how good of a mother she was and that she would do anything for her daughter, even if it meant making contingency plans if things didn't go her way when it came to working with the bad guys she was forced to work with.

While Zac, he's been through a lot in his life and it's understandable why he doesn't do relationships since his mother didn't set the best example when it came to finding happiness. I also liked the bond between the hero and the heroine's daughter, which was adorable, especially when Zac does something really nice for her when it comes to something she'll miss. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is how protective he was of the heroine and how determined he was to win the heroine over, even though he tried to deny what was between the pair to those he trusted most.

Overall, Ms. Reus has penned another exciting and thrilling ride in this story where the chemistry between this couple was strong, stimulating and had me wondering how long it would take Zac to win the heroine over completely; and where the romance was nicely-detailed and had me loving every moment as Zac showed Olivia that she could trust him. The way this story ended had me concerned for both the main characters because of the trouble they face, but I loved how the epilogue wrapped things up perfectly, as Olivia and Zac deserve all the happiness they've achieved. I would recommend Savage Rising by Katie Reus, if you enjoy romantic suspense or books by authors Katie Ruggle, Melinda Leigh, Kendra Elliott and Susan Stoker.

Savage Rising by Katie Reus is an exciting romantic suspense from the beginning to the end. The prologue introduces Zac, the hero but switching in the first chapter to Olivia and her young daughter. The danger quickly materializes for these two. As she works to keep her past from hurting her daughter Zac and Olivia’s paths cross. From there the danger, the suspense and the romance escalates.

What an amazing addition to the resurrection series. The plot is well-written, the characters are disarming and there is a good balance between the action and the romance. All of this is what I expect from Katie Reus and she never fails to deliver. She has done so marvelously this time.

I received a copy of this e-book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Olivia used to lead a not so legal life, she was actually a safecracker. All that stopped when she became pregnant with her daughter 6 years ago. She now works for a company that consults with businesses providing security options.

A man from her past has surfaced and wants her to do "one last job". She tries to refuse but finds those she cares about in danger. She goes to Redemption Harbor to a friend with a PI/security business.

Savage works for this said company and the plan is for him to pose as a man obsessed with her that also has talents useful in this project. Sparks fly when he meets Olivia and not in a good way. She hears Savage make an uncomplimentary comment about her situation and she has no problem telling him how she feels. He does apologize for his comment.

Can Olivia and Savage stop this "one last job" from happening? Can they keep her loved ones safe? Can they deal with the sparks between them?

This story was great! Olivia lived for her daughter and loved being a mom. Savage wasn't proud of some of the "jobs" he had in the past. The sparks were pretty hot between the two. As their attraction and feelings started to grow, Savage would push Olivia away because of some of his previous work.

Olivia's friends at Redemption Harbor were quite the family and it was nice to see she, her daughter, her nanny (who was like a mother to her) and Savage join this family. Olivia's Daughter is quite a scene stealer in this book.

There were a few twists and turns in the book that made it even more enjoyable to read. The writing is great and I found myself not wanting to put the book down. I can't wait to read more about these interesting people from Redemption Harbor!
