This edition was very cool, however i would never recommend the digital edition since it makes it very weird and i couldn't appreciate the details at their fullest.

Unfortunately, this book was not readable on my adobe digital. The lower half was cut off so I could not read each panel. Nightmare Before Christmas is an amazing movie and I'm sure if I could reach each page, I would love this.

It was interesting to see the Nightmare Before Christmas displayed in this way. I just couldn't connect to the story as well as the movie I know and love from my childhood.

This was my first manga....that being said it took me a bit to get used to how you have to read it. I was able to fly through it once I got the hang of it because this is one of my FAVORITE Disney movies. I really enjoyed the artwork as well. I think I would rather read manga in book form though. So I have the book to start a collection. I received an ARC copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

If you're a fan of NBC, you will absolutely adore this!! Easy handsell!!

Fans of Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas will most likely enjoy this. It was a quick, cute, enjoyable read. I also enjoyed the artwork, and as someone who is an avid manga reader, I approve.

this was my first manga graphic novel to read. It did take a bit to get used to the way to read it. And reading it on my kindle was interesting.
I'm glad this was my first manga to read. I really enjoyed it. And this would be a great one to be added to any library - public, school, personal

A modern version of the classic iconic history. Must give a try!

Good content but not something that I could easily get into.

I am reviewing Disney Manga: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas by Jun Asuka. I received an digital copy of it from Diamond Book Distributors and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Any quotes that may follow are from the text and are not my words.
I had to read this. I just had to. Being a fan of Disney and of The Nightmare Before Christmas, I was greatly intrigued by this one. I saw it and thought, "Do they interpret it properly?". Yes, Jun Asuka does. I greatly enjoyed this one. Beautiful illustrations. Story stays with the movie.
I am rating this book Four Stars because some of the art was so tiny that details were easy to miss. Overall, a fun read. I would definitely recommend this to others especially ones that are already fans.

I absolutely love THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS . When I saw that it was in manga form I was so happy to read it. I will admit I am a manga virgin and once I figured out how to read it I really got into the story . We have Jack Skellington and his take over of Christmas.
The book is done in black and white which doesn't distract from the story telling I honestly think it kind of adds to the story and eeriness of the Halloween What I really liked about it is the characters are so well developed and the artist doesn't really have to change too much to put it in the graphic novel . The author kept it close to the original .
This would be a great companion for the movie . People who love the movie will fall in love with this . People new to the nightmare before Christmas will fall in love with it with this book . I will warn you read the instructions on how to read it before you start . don't do the same mistake I did . Check it out you won't be disappointed .

Fans of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas rejoice! This movie tie-in will make your day and is a great read for fall. The mostly black and white illustrations will discourage some readers from trying the book while others will relish the starkness of Asuka's drawings.

Graphic novel adaptations of movies are a mixed bag, and that's doubly true for movie musicals. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a classic for its gorgeous stop motion, sprung from the imagination of Tim Burton and brought to gleefully delightful life by Henry Selick. That magic doesn't translate as well onto the flat page, but the story does, and the artwork here is true to the original. The other missing piece is the Danny Elfman music, Catherine O'Hara's plaintive singing, and Ken Page stealing the show with his thunderous rendition of Mr. Oogie Boogie Man. In short, there is no substitute for the original, but this manga storybook works well as an introduction for the uninitiated or as a souvenir for collectors and fans.

I’ve wanted to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas for a long time, but I haven’t yet. So when I saw the manga version, I had to read it.
I really enjoyed the story. I love that it’s a cross between Halloween and Christmas. Though those two holidays are two months apart, they’re so connected, since as soon as Halloween is over, the shelves are filled with Christmas gifts.
One problem I had (and I’m not sure if this will be the same in the physical copy) is the colouring. It’s in black and white, and some of the panels were so detailed that it was hard to tell what was happening. When only two colours are used, it’s difficult to distinguish between characters, so sometimes I didn’t know what was happening. Also, many of the speech bubbles didn’t have an obvious direction of who it was coming from, so I couldn’t tell who was speaking. These issues may not be as bad for someone who has watched the movie, but since I wasn’t familiar with the story before, I struggled with these visual problems.
However, I really liked this story. I’m glad I read this manga edition!

My daughter got me into A Nightmare Before Christmas, and I wanted to see what the Manga world would look like. This was a feast for the eyes and I loved the artistry. I think I have one Christmas gift off of my list. Loved it!

I love Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, however this GN falls flat with me.

Honestly, this just made me want to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas on repeat! TNBC is an absolute classic and perfect for this time of year!
The manga was a great way of experiencing this famous story in a different manner. The artwork was beautifully done as well. I do admit that I was slightly disappointed that the manga was black and white instead of filled with colors, it just felt dreary at some points in the story (for example when Christmas Town was first shown). Equally, I would have wished that there was some new, innovative element to the story instead of an almost exact replica (then again, I might not remember the movie as clearly as I think).
I do think this manga is very loyal to the movie, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd still go with watching the movie again. As lovely as this experience was, nothing compares to the spooky atmosphere the movie creates.
I would recommend this to anyone who has seen the movie multiple times and just wants to try something new...also to younger children because it seems like a great way to get them to love Burton's style.

The copy from Netgalley was barely readable due to the watermark from the publisher. Very annoying! I would prefer to see the movie again cause nothing beats one of Burtons real masterpieces.

This is a retelling of the Disney classic in a different style. This book is very true to the manga style in terms of the drawings and layout. The images are a little dark at times which makes it hard to follow what is happening. It’s perfect for those who love the original story and want to experience it in a new format.

High-level loyalty to the original film, even the characters, who have an interesting Japanese style, remain the way many of us remember and love them. Many points because of that!
