From the minute Charlotte & Joe met, I was excited for their story and couldn't wait to see how the story turned. The plot twist was awesome, and along with the witty, and at times laugh-out-loud banter, and low drama, made for interesting and fun reading.

The cast of characters is a good one. From Charlotte's zany workmates to Joe's equally quirky grandma & her friends.

This is my first Pamela DuMond novel, and I'm already looking forward to the next in the series.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book, & DEFINITELY recommend it!!

I loved Charlotte and Joe's story! It was sexy, sweet, hot and suspenseful. And funny also.

Charlotte is a new junior matchmaker and is just coming off the success of matching one of the firms more difficult and rich clients. Here at this wedding, she's exposed to the high society life. And is astounded by it when she runs into the man she dubs "Hot Waiter".

Joe is interested in Charlotte when he sees her and even more so when he realizes she has no idea who or what his family is. Joe has been more solitary in his life for years now and that's just the way he likes it until Charlotte.

The start of a funny series and one I can't WAIT for book 2 of!

ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I wasn't sure as much what to expect from this book as I requested it from NetGalley as I am a fan of Pamela DuMond's books. I loved this book despite it being a subject that has been written about numerous times. I fell in love with the character Charlotte and enjoyed the partnering with Joe Delacroix too. The other thing I loved was the fact that Joe has a Masters in Library studies, as a librarian myself I loved that Joe was a book lover. The book started off at a wedding where Charlotte mistook Joe for a waiter after he spilled the scotch he was carrying on her and sparks flew. Later Charlotte who works for a matchmaking company is given Joe Delacroix's profile as his grandmother thinks he needs a perfect match. The thing is that Charlotte is head over heels for Joe and vice versa, but dating him is breaking one of Charlotte's number one rules - no dating the Clients. As the book goes on, we learn about Joe and Charlotte's past, and just as they get closer, we discover that their past and the worst moments of their lives are in fact intertwined. Can Joe and Charlotte work out their differences or will this be another relationship for Joe and Charlotte that is over before it has even begun sprouting ?
Find out in this fast-paced romantic comedy/ suspense that draws readers in from the very first meeting of Joe and Charlotte.

This is my first Pamela DuMond book, but I will not be stopping here. Wow! She has a unique writing style that keeps you sucked in.

I didn't want this romance to end.

Joe is perfect. I mean, if there's ever been a perfect character, this guy is it. He's sweet, kind, heartbroken, and sexy as sin.

He's also rich. Did I mention that?

Charlotte is an up and coming matchmaker. She's sweet, kind, strong, and gorgeous.

She's also hiding from her crazy ex.

These two meet by chance, but then find themselves in several situations after the initial encounter. It's a whole slew of meet-cutes and I loved each one. Yes, I know you can really only have one meetcute, but whatever. Charlotte didn't know who Joe was. It was fun to watch that development. Fun to watch her shock and surprised.

Even better when his grandmother hired her to set him up with someone.

Love, laughter, sexy-times, and fun are all here. There's a twist and there are turns and you're going to enjoy each one.

This was my first book by Ms Dumond and I have to say, where has she been hiding? I’ve been missing out on a superb writer and that is a shame, but one I’m slowly going to correct.
The Client was sweet and sexy with a hot stud of a hero, the quiet type of alpha rather than in your face domineering.
Charlotte is a junior matchmaker with the White Gloves Matchmaking Agency and first meets Joe, well bumps into him at the wedding of the first couple she had matched. Sparks fly from the first moment, Joe thought she was a wedding guest, Charlotte thought he was a waiter, a Hot Waiter as she nicknamed him. Neither knew the truth about the other. Charlotte left before Joe even knew her name and was obsessed with finding her again.
Fate brought them together again- the elevator scene is one of the funniest I’ve read in quite a while, but there were lots more. The sexy times where hot and sweaty and the rest just melted my heart.
It’s only after becoming friends with Joe’s grandmother that Charlotte finds out who Joe really is. Then Marte decides that Charlotte should find a match for Joe as she wants to see him married before she leaves this mortal coil.
There’s a no fraternizing with clients clause at her agency so now Charlotte is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Her job or Joe.
Joe’s determined he’s going to get what he wants and what he wants is… Charlotte.
Will they get their heart’s desires or will they be forced apart by circumstance?

This was my first Pamela DuMond book but it certainly won't be my last. She somehow got the perfect balance of funny (like laugh out loud funny), witty, and sexy (so so hot) with this book and I hope that's indicative of the contents of her other works. This was such a character driven book because all of the characters were just so great! The banter between Charlotte and Joe was EVERYTHING and Joe's grandma is HILARIOUS! I also really liked the fact that while there was plenty of humor, there was a bit of tragedy that added emotion and depth to the book as well - not to mention a plot twist that even I didn't see coming. I look forward to reading more from the author and give The Client 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

This is my first story by Pamela DuMond and I have to wonder how I've not heard of her before! The Client was such a delightful, fun read. Romantic comedy is one of my favorite genres and this one ranks as one of my favorites.

Charlotte was easy to relate with and I love the humorous side of her. You just never knew what she was going to say next. And the scene in the salon/spa with Joe's grandmother was absolutely hilarious, not to mention the elevator ride with Joe! I couldn't believe he really thought it was cake icing!

Joe was such a great guy. I mean, how could you not like him. And the chemistry between him and Charlotte was the best!! The storyline was perfect and I could see myself being friends with both of them.

I love books like this where the drama is kept to a minimal and the romance is tops. The steaminess was the right amount too! I'm definitely going to be referring this one to all my friends.

Rating 3.5

The Client is a funny, sexy rom-com that has everything from mistaken identity to earning a second chance at love. This being the first book I have read of Pamela DuMond's I didnt know what to expect and I am happy to say I did enjoy it.

Charlotte needs a fresh start - moving to Chicago was just the way to get it. Working for as a matchmaker she ends up being at the right place at the right time to get a drink spilled on her by who she thinks is a sexy waiter. What she doesn't realize is the person she thinks is a waiter is really Joe Delacroix heir to the Delacroix hotel they are standing in.

Joe has been hiding over the last 3 years - tragedy changed his life and now he goes through the motions. When he sees the beautiful girl from across the room he knows he needs to meet her - of course spilling a drink on her doesn't help. Through a series of hit and miss situations, they finally get to know each other but all that changes when the pasts collide and not in a good way.

Ms DuMond takes her readers on a journey and its filled with tragedy and funny situations. We get to see the events both past and present in both Joe and Charlotte's POV's which I loved. The dialog is good which I appreciate. We get to meet some interesting secondary characters and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

'The Client' by Pamela DuMond is the story of Charlotte and Joe.
Charlotte is a match maker who made a great match that got her name out there. While at the wedding party she ran into Joe and it was a wet encounter. Joe had drinks in his hands and she ended up getting her dress ruined. Charlotte did give him her first name but that was it. They ran into each other again a the Gym where Charlotte was given a pass. Joe started working their after he had an accident and when his Grandmother, Marte Delacroix told him to work there. Joe is very close to his 83 year old grandmother and she is actually a very funny busy body. I really enjoyed the grandmother character.
Joe hasn't been in a relationship in a long time other than his quickies at the Library aisle. They are both attracted to each other and this builds into something more.
I really enjoyed their story and will be looking for more books by Ms. DuMond.

This book killed it with the first meeting/impression of joe and Charlotte:
“Who are you, the grammar police? Hand off my boob.”
“Awfully sorry about that.” He removed his hand and stared down at my chest. “Lovely, really. Warm. Soft.”
“What?”
“Your breast. From the quick time we’ve spent together I can tell they’re real. Shocking in today’s world.”
Joe sometimes has a one track mind, “I’m single. You’re single. And you haven’t set me up with anyone that will take my mind off you.” I really liked this book, it was a great heartfelt read.
