Great read for those looking to start a business. Awesome tips. I personally didn't get much from the book, but I read it with my brother and he found it interesting enough to want to buy.

Great motivational information for those who have the desire to work their way to success. This book illustrated the possibilities that exist when a person is willing to work their way through challenges with determination and an indomitable spirit.

Before reading this book, I was, of course, well familiar with Daymond John from "Shark Tank", but the book gave me an entirely different perspective of him as a person and a businessman. His philosophies and positions do not always align with what I have read in other books, but this is where his personality and approach to reaching his key clients can be found.
I found the book to be an interesting and surprising read, full of good advice, some of it immediately applicable to my own business, some of it less so, but thoughtworthy nevertheless.
A book, I truly enjoyed reading.

I have enjoyed learning from Daymond John on Shark Tank and I was excited to read his book Rise and Grind. In it, Daymond explores how grit, persistence, and good old-fashioned hard work are the backbone of every successful business and individual.

Throughout the book, Daymond interviews other successful individuals and shares what they do to make the most of their days. I enjoyed this in theory, but I didn't know who many of them were. I think each person has a different definition of success. The same as viewers like one Shark on SharkTank over another. For that reason, many of the opinions from the "successful people" weren't that big of a selling point for me.

I did enjoy the parts of the book where Daymond talked about his own journey and the way key points were emphasized throughout the book. This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I had hoped it would be either. It just made for an okay book.

We are dumbfounded. Normally, when quiet people start talking, it's nothing that you want to hear. Normally.

However, John has a lot to say. He lays it out clear, in easy-to-digest pieces. Well, there is a ton of information here. It might be wisest for you to pull out the most germane for your situation and begin a note file on your hard drive.

No nonsense.

Rise and Grind reads somewhat like a who's who in the business and entertainment industry. This is not a bad thing when the author knows these people, along with their concepts about success.

Hello! I wrote about Daymond's book for The Jewish Journal and for The Wharton Blog. See links below.

What is the secret to success? How do you know your new idea will work out? The truth is no one knows if something new will be great but you can create a space where you are more likely to succeed. Daymond John shares how he has been able to stay focused on his goals and asks other entrepreneurs for their daily secrets.

Daymond said: “We all get the same twenty-four hours a day, whether we have a million dollars in the bank or a hundred. This book is about how to put those hours to work for you, how to use them to outperform, outwork, and outhustle your way to the top.” This point really hit home with me. I decide where to put my energy and what I will focus on. I can spend my time creating success or being afraid that my plan will not work.

I really wanted to love this book, as I think Daymond John is a super successful businessman and impressive in what he has accomplished. My favorite parts were the chapters when he related his experiences and what he does to grit and persistence. I didn't find the other stories from other professionals to be as educating or as entertaining. For me, his other books are much better.
