This was an okay story but I don't feel like Carol Marinelli did a good job of pulling in the reader. I didn't really connect with any of the characters.

This is a good beginning to Carol Marinelli's Ruthless Royal Sheikhs series. When Iylas's men kidnap the wrong woman from a desert star watching tour in his desert country of Zayrinia it leads to complications. Sort of a formula story line in Harlequin but a nice read. Maggie has been alone since her mother died and Maggie is following her mom's wish of traveling around the world. She has worked her way to Zayrinia for her final week before she heads back to London to resume her life as a manager in a chocolate shop.

Engaging from the start, I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit different and themes of family loss and breakdown were dealt with well. Sheikh Ilyas al-Razim, ruler of beautiful Zayrinia, was a force to be reckoned with as he was determined to show seasonal worker Maggie who was boss. Tricked into nearly causing a scandal, Maggie is stunned when she is kidnapped by Ilyas and accused of all sorts of misdemeanours However Ilyas hadn't reckoned being attracted to enigmatic Maggie and struggles to let her go when he realises she is innocent. Maggie was an interesting character, just managing to survive and have a stable life because of her uprooted past, she is swept away by her feeling towards Ilyas and their doomed love affair. Brilliantly written and well worth reading.

Harlequins for me in general are a nice escape. I like the light hearted frothy romance. This one has some of the harlequin formula constants and yet it also introduces in the mistaken identify and captivity theme.

I just couldn't get into the story.

I love Ms Marinelli’s stories and this one is a beauty oh my goodness there is sizzle and spark in this one as two very different people work their way to a HEA in a setting that is just perfect for love, this is one I didn’t want to put down.

Crown Prince Sheikh Ilyas al-Razim is going to be King one day and as such he is bought up to be strong and to get what he wants and when blackmailers threaten the royal family Ilyas does not sit back he has one of the blackmailers kidnaped and bought to the desert in a storm and that storm can go either way when he meets the delightful and strong Maggie Delaney, she brings out emotions in him that have never been there before.

Maggie is an orphan she has friends and is at the end of a working holiday when on a star gazing tour in the desert that her world is turned upside down when she is whisked away to a Bedouin tent, kidnapped no less and mistaken for a blackmailer even though she unwittingly is part of it but what happens to her when she finally meets a man who sets her body on fire.

Maggie is just the best heroine, lovable, strong and just what Ilyas needs in his live a life that involves lots of responsibilities including his younger brother. After arriving back at the palace and sharing more nights of pure bliss Maggie needs to return home she will never be a mistress she wants more and until Ilyas can give her that she will remain in England. I also love Ilyas and the character he shows when he knows that he loves Maggie and what he does to make sure she will be with him. This is a beautiful story, fabulous setting and a story that should not be missed thank you MS Marinelli for a wonderful story that left me smiling

It's been a while since a Harlequin Presents title brought me to tears but this one did. I loved the almost immediate connection Maggie and Ilyas had. Well done, Carol Marinelli! If you are as addicted to HP as I am, do not miss this one!

A sexy story and sometimes romantic. Ilyas is an entitled hero who thinks that everything he wants he can get. Maggie is an extremely naïve heroine. Nonetheless, the story works out well and I did have a good time reading it. I would have liked it more if the heroine had made the hero suffer just a little, but that is just me.

This story was pretty good and it held my interest throughout the book, mostly because I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and it never did. Ilyas the future king and Maggie the chocolate bartender come from two very different worlds but their lives couldn't be more alike. This book had the makings of a great story but it was flat. The two main characters I found lacking in emotions and I felt nothing for them. The story wasn't dismal and I did finish it.

Lost interest at 35%. I tried, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.... The characters seemed one dimensional and unlikable for some reason.

This is Illyas and Maggie’s story. He is a prince and she is on holiday. She mistakenly thought to be a blackmailer. He kidnaps her to get the real story. There is supposedly a sex tape of her with his brother. He believes her when she tells him nothing happened. She is a virgin. He makes love to her and takes her back to his palace. They make love but she won’t stay and be part of his harem. He realizes that he loves her. I can’t wait to start second book about his brother.

Ilyas kidnaps Maggie thinking he has caught his blackmailer but as the story unfolds we learn more about Maggie, Ilyas and his brother between dramatic, heated and passionate exchanges which I love the author for. Set in a beautiful setting I couldn't believe it when I was finishing the well written story which had a lot of tradition in it too. One of the best Sheikhs I've read.

Another cute mini-romance. I felt like the secondary story line of Ilyas challenging his father rule was a little weak but the romance aspect was sweet.
