Thomas writes the heart breaking story of the collapse of a family after the death of a child. Rachel and Sam are destroyed by the death of their 5-year-old son, Jonah, but they deal with their loss very differently. Jonah’s sister, Eden just wants her life to be the way it used to be and Rachel’s sister, Ruth, who steps in to help the family, begins to slide under her own problems and grief. This is a book you don’t want to read and that you can’t stop reading at the same time. It’s the worst thing any parent can imagine and having seen a dear friend go through something similar, I can say Thomas nailed the raw emotion and terror that happen in a terrible time like this
