I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This book is amazing! This book features so many different cookie recipes including your classic holiday cookie recipe. It gives pictures for each and every recipe offered which is super helpful so you know what the cookie is supposed to look like. I have definitely found a few that I will be attempting to make this holiday season as well as trying to make my traditional chocolate chip cookie even better. The directions are easy to follow and the ingredients are easy to get and anything out of the ordinary is explained. I love this book - this is now my favorite dessert book. Thank you so much for writing this book and to NetGalley for providing me a copy. I know I'll be referring back to this quite a few times.

I absolutely love this cookie baking book! It has so many different types of cookies and different varieties of cookies, there was just so much to pick through. I love the chemistry behind baking. As a science geek, i really appreciated that added element at the beginning of the book. I also love the different tips the author gave like the type of tools and sizes and even brands that were recommended. it really helps, especially if you're a beginner and don't know where to start. Overall, you can't go wrong with this one. Cookies are one of the easiest types of desserts to make and with this book, it makes it even easier and fun.

Nice little cookie book that clearly shows the love the author has for cookies.

If you love cookies and are ALWAYS on the look out for more recipes?
This book will offer you a few.

Its a nice mixture of old classics and new spins, with great pictures and well done recipes.

For me personally there was a bit too much colour in it all. What i mean by that is that i am not a sprinkle or M&M kind of person. I can't eat anything that is artificially flavoured (yup thats a REALLY nice allergy to have at current times!) i found that this book had a few too many recipes of that kind for me to go out and physically buy this book.

BUT the recipes itself are still great. And if you are someone that LOVES to bake with everything colour? This book will be exactly what you have been searching for!

It overs a nice range of different types of cookies and while i kind of wish there would be a few more cookie bars and actual shortbread in this book (since it is in the title and all!) its mostly just a "typical" cookie recipe book. Which is not a bad thing. Just a note, if you are looking for lots of recipes on those two topics this book might not have your needs covered!

All in all?
This is fantastic.
Beautiful cookies, lots of nice and easy to follow recipes that make you want to jump into your kitchen to get going with the cookie making!

I’ve been following Sally on Social Media and her blog since before she released her first cookbook. I absolutely loved her Sally’s Baking Addiction cookbook and I was excited when she made the announcement that she was releasing Sally’s Cookie Addiction. Cupcakes and cookies are my two favourite sections in her first cookbook, so I was looking forward to what tasty new recipes she had come up with. I was not disappointed!

Not only are Sally’s recipes delicious, they are easy to follow for both novice and seasoned bakers. She has helpful pages of tips, freezing instructions, family favourites and how to prevent excess spreading. The measurements are written in both weight/volume and the accompanying Directions are clear and written in a step by step manner. I also love the little notes on each page, which sometimes include possible substitutions and recommendations!

The accompanying pictures are eye catching, professional and well staged. They do a good job of making my mouth water!

I’m an avid baker and I have tried- and enjoyed- a few recipes from the book so far, and I plan to try more soon. Weather you’re new to baking or a cookie connoisseur looking for a new book to add to the collection, I recommend Sally’s Cookie Addiction!

*Recipes I’ve Tried: Brown Butter Snickerdoodles, Pumpkin Spice Sugar Cookies, Royal Icing Recipe, Cookie Cutter Sugar Cookies

A few of you favorite will be here but the selection of recipes is staggering. Each recipe has a gorgeous photo that has you wanting to make every recipe. The print size is good for both the list of ingredients and the directions. Divided into chapters by cookie type the book is well organized and easy to follow. I particularly enjoyed the bar/pan section as they take a little less time.

When I first looked at the table of contents for Sally's Cookie Addiction by Sally McKenney, I was not sure I would find any interesting recipes. Then I started reading the cookbook and marked recipe after recipe to try. I did end up making the Big Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies and gave them to my taste testers. Everyone loved the cookies. The bit of molasses added an extra depth to the cookies. The book is a nice mix of classics and unusual cookies. The tips and tricks are an nice addition especially for new bakers. Cookies always seem to be hit, and this book offers something for everyone!

I still remember the first time I ate an American style chocolate chip cookie that I had made myself. It was when using the internet for recipes was still a new thing, and I remember puzzling about the difference between baking soda and baking powder. I loved those cookies, and have come to love a wide variety of cookies over the years. This book has only added to them.

There are so many mouth-watering recipes in here I had to stop myself from trying to make them all at once. There are eight categories: Family Favorites, All about oats, Happy Holidays, Shortbread and Slice-and-Bake Galore, The Sprinkle Chapter, Nuts about Nuts, Serious Chocolate Cravings and Find your Flavor, offering something for everyone who likes to indulge themselves every so often. The recipes range from more simple to more elaborate ones, and thanks to the clear instructions, the recipes are easy to follow. The ingredients list uses both cups and grams, and apart from some sweets most ingredients should be easily available even outside the U.S.

I also really appreciated useful advice in the beginning and throughout the book. It's the perfect book for cookie lovers and offers plenty of inspiration to change up ones baking routine.

You had me with the picture of chocolate chip cookie dough in the Introduction. I knew this book was going to be one I'd love. As I browsed through the recipes, I found so many that I'd like to try, including the ones with Nutella in them and the shortbreads. The photos made them all seem so tasty and I swear I could almost smell some of them! The instructions are written in easy language, with helpful hints at the end of the recipe. I have lots and lots of cookie recipes. But, I've got to get this book!

As someone who enjoys the recipes from Sally's blog I thought this cookbook was well put together. This book made me want to start my holiday baking already. Sally gives an introduction to all the key ingredients you will need to make these delectable sweets. She also provides tips for making ahead and freezing and other storage. Vibrant pictures give an idea of what the finished product should resemble. And unlike many recipes books some of these recipes were fresh and exciting ones I had never seen before.

Love Cookies? Sally's Cookie Addiction: Irresistible Cookies, Cookie Bars, Shortbread, and More from the Creator of Sally's Baking Addiction by Sally McKenney, who is also the voice behind the popular and delightful blog, Sally’s Baking Addiction, has compiled dozens of excellent cookie recipes that no cookie lover will be able to resist.

Sally’s offerings include old fashioned cookies, like Big Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies and Favorite Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, as well as Snickerdoodles and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies. She has also included some no bakes, and cookies with more modern ingredients like Nutella. One new favorite is Iced Carrot Cake Oatmeal Cookies which were especially enjoyed by carrot cake lovers. There are also dozens of innovative, modern cookie varieties, like Chocolate Pretzel Cookiewiches, Double Chocolate Macaroons, and Midnight Brownie Cookies. Sally’s Lemon Crème Sandwich Cookies are incredible, and so is the Coffee Toffee Shortbread. There is also a chapter on Christmas cookies that is excellent.

Included are rolled cookies, scooped or dropped cookies, bar cookies, slice and bake cookies, and shaped cookies. The instructions are precise and easy to follow. Most of the ingredients are easy-to-find. In the introductory pages, Sally has included a primer on ingredients, tips on successful cooking baking, and general advice to make cooking baking an enjoyable experience.

There is enough variety to keep bakers busy for months, along with hints on freezing and storing the finished products. And, there is a beautiful picture of each recipe, which is an essential part of any really good cookbook.

All told, this is an excellent cookbook for cookie lovers, and would make a great gift for a new bride or for anyone who loves to bake.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review

I greatly enjoyed Sally McKenney's newest cookbook covering all things cookie. She has a great mix of traditional cookies (Crispy-Edged Chocolate Chip) unique (Strawberries & Cream Cookie Cup), holiday (Pecan Tassies), shortbread (Chai Tea Spice) and more (Butterscotch No-Bakes). Her recipes are easy to follow and she integrates great tips for preparing thing ahead or substitutions to make your cookies even more unique. The photography is also great. I tried the Autumn Spice Oatmeal Cookie and they were a crowd favorite. I will be excited to try her other treats as well. This is a great book to share with all of the cookie addicts in your life.

These recipes are probably fabulous, but once again this book falls to a boring layout. It is probably my digital galley, but there is really nothing in there helping me say great things. There is a bit of color, and a few pictures. But the overall layout has me yawning.

I have a serious cookie addiction. Is there anything better than a buttery, soft, sweet, chewy cookie to brighten up you day? Every year for the holidays I bake cookies and share them with my coworkers, friends, and family. We’re not just talking a batch or two of chocolate chip here. Last year I made 8 different kinds of cookies and more than one batch of 4 of those. Now that you understand how important cookies are to me… you might be able to guess that I am in love with this book. I have been a follower of Sally’s blog (Sallysbakingaddiction.com) for several years now and she had never steered me wrong. This book has the following chapters: Family Favorites, All About Oats, Happy Holidays, Shortbread and Slice-and-Bakes Galore, The Sprinkle Chapter, Nuts About Nuts, Serious Chocolate Cravings, and Find Your Flavor. The book contains 75 cookie recipes plus tips, tricks, and advice from Sally to make your cookies the best. The recipes range from chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin to Cranberry Spice Rugelach and Jude & Franklin’s Favorite Dog Biscuits. The recipes are easy to read and accompanied by gorgeous photos. Most of the recipes use ingredients that an accomplished home baker will keep on hand or can be found in your local grocery store. There isn’t anything too complicated about the recipes because Sally has taken all of the guess work out of making your cookies perfect by providing her tips and tricks. I am looking forward to making every cookie in this book. You can bet those Cranberry Spice Rugelach will be in my holiday cookie giveaway boxes this year!
Thank you to NetGalley and Race Point Publishing for an ARC of this book. I have voluntarily provided an honest review.

This cookie book is a one of a kind. The best kind. It has so much variety in cookie receipes, where do you start. Has to be the Snickerdoodles. Try this receipe. Seriously. I can't wait to get baking. There is so much info about baking, preparing, freezing, etc. it's really amazing that you can bake a doyble batch and freeze half, so you will always have home baked cookies on hand. Sally has put so much info into this book, that I am pretty sure that this will be the only book for cookie baking I will ever use again.

As a long time fan of Sally's blog I was predisposed to like this book, and I did. The majority of the recipes are well tested basics, though there are some slightly more sophisticated recipes like that for Chai Spice Shortbread. Sally's recipes are clearly written and well suited to beginners, so this book would be a great gift or library check out for those who are just starting out in baking. More advanced bakers might find it a little lacking, though there are recipes like Fairy Macaroons that are more advanced, and creative and fun recipes like Pinata Cookie Surprises.
