The Actress is wonderful Christian Mystery novel - wow was it so interesting and full of fun as well. You have such an interesting way the story is told - yeah - told - you have The head of the Newspaper telling the whole story - it was great - it is a murder mystery - a very interesting one - you have a starlet - who says she saw a man outside her window trying to get in and she sot him in the chest - well let me tell you what - when they found her she was over the body - crying and he had a note in his hand and it said...........nooooooooooo I cant ruin this story to you and ruin the story for you - but you wont believe what it says - it is so very awesome - so unique and very phenomenal. One you will enjoy very much.

I am reviewing a copy of The Actress through Shepherd King Publishing and Netgalley:
August 10.1962 in a town called Solo Mississippi America’s most famous actresses Tallullah Ivey is in the Mississippi Delta filming a controversial movie. Tully Ivey as everyone knows her has found herself in similar situations before.
When a prominent local citizen is found dead outside her bedroom window Police must find out if she murdered him, or if it was something else. Was it an accident, or someone trying to break in?
The story is told by Martha Mcrae the publisher and only writer of the Bethel County Gazette she also happens to run a boarding house in Solo Mississippi. A town so small there is no need for stop signs let alone stop lights. A place that has somehow always managed to have exactly 310 souls.
But at that time they had a celebrity in their mist.

This was a fun book to read! It perfectly portrays the Hollywood 'awe' people had for movie stars in the time period, and also small town life. Usually books about small towns rankle me a little, having grown up in one myself, but this book didn't! This was a great book! I really enjoyed the storyline, the pace was good, and the main character was believable and not annoying. That's a big win! The way everything came together in the end seemed realistic, even if I didn't understand the reasoning behind everything while it was happening. I am definitely interested in more books from this author, and am heading off now to find some. I recommend this book!
