Book 3 and the final book in the Coming Home Series and for me Harper Sloan left the best for last, well that could have something to do with the fact I was desperate for Clay’s story he was a man I needed to get to know and I wanted to get inside his head and that’s exactly what we got in Cowboy Up.
Clay was the oldest sibling in the Davis family and he held the family together, he stepped up to be the father figure and took the families problems on those broad shoulders of his but what happens when he meets Caroline again and he finds feelings he thought he would never have...
This isn’t the first time Caroline has crossed paths with the hot broody cowboy but this time around she wants it all, so when she sits next to him at the local bar you knew sparks were gonna fly...
Cowboy Up is the ultimate second chance romance, this series will tear at your heartstrings and have you riding an emotional roller coaster, this book made me laugh and it made me cry and yes I was sad to see it come to an end but what a way to end a brilliant series, Harper Sloan ended this series on a high. Great job loved this book and loved the series.

5 DARK COWBOY STARS!
After reading both Lost Rider, and Kiss My Boots; I couldn't wait to read Clayton Davis's story. Cowboy Up did not disappoint! Filled with so much emotion, it had me feeling all the feels. The story-line was amazing, and the characters were spectacular. Linney aka Caroline, is such a strong amazing woman, and am so happy that her and Clayton find each other. If you are looking for a beautiful Texas book, with a dark, brooding, sexy cowboy and the woman that brings him to his knees, I highly suggest picking this book up! You will not be disappointed!
Am so happy Harper Sloan gifted us with these beautiful stories! I love her books, and she never disappoints with with her writing. If you haven't started any of her book, I highly recommend picking any of them up. The Coming Home Series, is amazing and I don't want it to end! Hopefully, maybe we will get stories for Lucy and Luke next?!? **crosses fingers**
**ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**

I'm late to the party. I added the series to my TBR but forgot about it. Clearly this self professed Harper Sloan fan is slacking. I wanted to read books one and two. They just slipped my mind and my ever-growing TBR. Once I saw Cowboy Up, I couldn't hold back.
Now I know I'm missing back story. I know it's not as intense having missed the first two stories but it is still a great read. It's written in a way that aside from spoiling that book one and two eventually get an HEA you don't feel like you are missing anything. There are references to things but they don't leave you flipping pages looking for answers. (Just curious.)
Cowboy Up is a good girl wanting more than to be a victim. It's a good guy pretending to be bad for a night. It's a sweet story with a bit of magic in the air.

Oh Harper Sloan. You have once again hit it out of the ballpark with this one and I think this is my favorite one of the series! Clay has always intrigued me from the first moment and I was so not disappointed. Caroline matched him toe to toe and I think that is what I really loved about this one. The raw passion these two have but also the emotional chemistry. The pain from the past for both of them to come to where they are in the story was breathtaking and something you really aspire your life to be. Honestly, I wanted a cowboy again after reading this one… and I am married to one!
Overall, I loved this book. It flowed brilliantly and I could not put it down. Sloan just knows how to work those feels in and you get yourself so wrapped up into the story that it becomes your world. If you haven’t read any of the books from this series, I would highly recommend getting to know the Davis siblings. It is so worth the binge read!

I have to say I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. We met Clayton in the previous books and I couldn’t wait to see how the author would develop his character.
Strong, a parental figure, quiet, hurting, often grouchy in other stories, in this book he became an amazing guy. Tender, loving, loaded with sex appeal, full of heart and emotion just waiting to give it all away. You just want to take him home for yourself. Plus, he is Hella hot! Yumm
Guys like Clayton are the reason women get addicted to romance novels. They represent everything a woman looks for in a man and a wonderful relationship. The author crafted the perfect complement for Clayton in Caroline. This book is full of sparks and even a few surprises along the way.
Packed full of magic between the pages, I know you will also become addicted to the writing of Harper Sloan.

I giggled and swooned all the way through this book! Harper gave us just what we needed for Clayton Davis and the gang. Cowboy Up was the perfect end to an emotional and sexy series!
I laughed so hard throughout this whole book. Maybe this isn't what Harper Sloan was going for, but it was exactly what I needed. I wondered throughout the whole series if Clayton Davis was going to be a boring stick in the mud, but he wasn't!!! I was so excited to his quips like 'aren't you a little whiskey in a tea cup?' <--- snort! Yet, on the flip side he made me swoon so hard! I mean harddddd! And Caroline is sweet perfection. She's exactly what Clayton Davis needed. I fell so in love with both of them that I couldn't help but read this book so fast to find out what happened, yet at the same time, I didn't want it to end, at all.
Cowboy Up also provided us a glimpse into the lives of the other Davis brothers and their wives/clan's and they gave me everything that I needed.

5 Star Review Cowboy Up (Coming Home #3) by Harper Sloan
The final book in the Coming Home series and one that I have been waiting for. I love the Davis family and I have been eagerly and not so patiently waiting for Clay’s story and what a story this was.
Clay has been the glue that held his family together for so long and he needed a heroine that could match him in a number of ways and that is exactly what Caroline Michaels is.
Caroline finally had the courage and means to escape from an abusive relationship and is slowly working her way back into the land of the living and now runs her own book store.
The connection between Caroline and Clay is instantaneous and their one night stand leads to a passionate and sizzling night. However fate deems that these two should meet again and Clay is determined not to let the shy Caroline get away a second time.
When their pasts come back to haunt them, will Caroline decide to stand and fight with Clay’s support or will she run?
Will Clay accept that the time has finally come for him to love and be loved by someone, that he truly deserves the happiness that his siblings have already found?
This was a romantic and at times tense read and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. As will previous books from Harper Sloan it was well written and the story line solid. I was invested from the first to last page and truthfully did not want the story to end.

I thought Cowboy Up was a fabulous story and I really enjoyed reading it. As it literally had a bit of everything. Including a strong sexy dirty talking cowboy. A heroine who believes happy ever afters only occur inside the pages of books. As well as babies, a wedding, crazy ex's. A fun loving and adorable family. Not to mention a town that can't mind their own business, chemistry that is off the charts and a romance that really made me swoon. And I loved every moment of it. So much so I could not put this book down and would happily recommend it to others. Especially to anyone who loves a good cowboy romance. As this is up there with the best I've read.

4 Cowboy Up Stars
The oldest Davis sibling, Clay, is perfectly content to stay on the ranch and take care of his horses. After being burned once he doesn't want to deal with the hassle of a girlfriend and he doesn't trust the female population all that much. Famous last works. Caroline falls into Clay's life and all of a sudden he's not so sure of his perfect lonely life.
This was such an lovely story and I really enjoyed the read. I wasn't expecting to like Clay much as I didn't really click with him in the other books in this series. But I ended up loving him surprise, surprise haha This series is such a lovely read perfect for the Christmas holidays.

Perfect....absolutely perfect
Cowboy Up was everything I was hoping it would be and more. Oh gosh, I've been waiting on Clay's story, the dark, sexy protective brother. The head of the family, always putting them first. Even though this is a series it can definitely be considered a standalone. But I suggest you read them all, that way you know all the characters.
Caroline has finally started over after leaving a bad relationship. One night of passion totally changes everything. The dark cowboy who shared her bed maybe gone but he's not forgotten. When they cross paths again the pull is strong and they both get a new beginning.
Y'all this is so good there are no words. Nothing I can say will even come close to how amazing this story is. The writing is phenomenal and the author has me falling in love with her words all over again. You definitely want to read this, it's......everything.

I love the Coming Home series by Harper Sloan! I was thrilled when NetGalley allowed me to review Cowboy Up early! Harper Sloan did not disappoint with Cowboy Up.
The final book in the series follows Clay Davis, the oldest and previously the most mysterious Davis. Clay, in the previous novels, was always hard at work, and dispensing wisdom to his siblings. In Cowboy Up, you learn more about why Clay spends most of his time alone working with the family horses. With Clay's backstory explored, I can honestly say, I did not see that story coming! We are also introduced to Caroline Michaels, who also has a tragic backstory. After an encounter with a dark, mysterious cowboy Caroline begins to rethink her bookish, shy nature. She finds out later, that dark, mysterious cowboy is a man she's had a crush on from afar since she was a kid - Clay Davis. The two haven't seen each other in years. Caroline owns a bookstore just outside of town and after tragedy strikes, she's forced to come out of her shell and figure out what she truly wants for her life. Clay Davis would like nothing more than to help her figure out just what that is. Caroline has been hurt in the past by not only her mother, but her from her abusive ex, as well. Clay relates to Caroline completely in both regards as he has been hurt by the abandonment of his mother and an ex who took advantage of him. The two bond and help each other heal and overcome their previous fears regarding relationships.
This book is steamy and a great read! It had an extremely satisfying ending, and if you've read the previous two books in the series, every character is mentioned and has great closure. I can not stress enough how much I loved this series! Great ending to a great series!

Third times the charm!
Clayton Davis the oldest of the Davis siblings never thought marriage and babies was for him until a random chance encounter at a bar with a beautiful woman. Having escaped an abusive relationship Caroline Michaels lives her life safely tucked away in her book store but her world changes the night she tries out being bad with a certain dark cowboy.
"I knew it was time to cowboy up the second my good girl gave me her bad and together we made magic."
I love Harper Sloan and cowboys so I was so excited for this series but sadly the first 2 were just ok for me. Not that anything was wrong with them but compared to Corp Security they were kinda meh. But Cowboy Up sealed the deal and showcased all the reasons I love Miss Harper! Not only was Clayton sexy as all get out, not only was Caroline so sweet and perfect that I wanted to wrap her up in bubble wrap safe from the world, but the rest of the family brought so much to the table with the laughter and love they shared that I hooked from beginning to end.

While I like to be transported to other experiences when I read, I also like there to be some grip on some little bit of reality. And this book just didn't give me that.
From early on in Harper Sloan's Cowboy Up, the book felt like it couldn't keep itself straight from one scene to another.
Take for instance that the heroine is apparently from the area where the book is set and at one time in her life had a crush on the hero, and yet when she runs into the hero in a bar that she frequents because her best friends own it, she doesn't get a "good look at him" because it's "so dark" so she doesn't recognize him as being the guy she crushed on, which I find hard to believe. Exactly how dark was this place? Does she have "night blindness"?
And not only that, but she later has sex with the hero -- several times -- and still doesn't get enough of a "good look" at him because, again, it's "so dark" in the motel room they share that later when she meets up with him, she's surprised to discover this man she had the passionate experience with is none other than the guy she crushed on years ago.
Then there's the fact that it takes about a month for the hero and heroine to reunite. During that time, neither party sought the other out. But the moment they see each other again, they both decide, "Oh, yes, I've been pining away for you since we last saw one another and we must be together" despite the fact that the story didn't read that way. In fact, the first chapter after the pair had sex, the hero doesn't reflect on the night at all, just that he's living a life that is a lonely one.
There were several other problems very similar to this throughout the book, making it fall very flat for me.

I have been waiting for Clay's story. I was so excited to read this. I was definitely not disappointed. Honestly I was not as sure about this series in the beginning, because I am not a fan of westerns in romance literature. However, that being said, I have loved every book in this series and this one was no different. This story was sweet and emotional and so beautiful. I can't wait for more of this series.

ADORABLE!
I enjoyed reading this book.
It was a really cute romance!
The big bad crouchy rancher who never ever wants to fall in love.
And the hurt little shy girl who steals his heart.
Really sweet. And funny and sexy and exciting and small-town-texasish. ☺
Add a horrible mother and 2 creepy and stupid ex-partners and we have a very interesting story to read until our darlings can ride off into that happily ever after sunset!
I really loved the story and the characters, but I think it should've been edited a bit better. 20 pages less wouldn't have hurt. It's just too long somehow. But I think that's a Harper Sloan thing. This is only my 4thbook of hers and I just went back to look at my review for the first book in this series and for Perfectly Imperfect and I said the exact same thing about it: too long and complicated sentences et cetera. :(
It just should've been a bit shorter! It would've made it much more interesting. Readers (me!) are bored easily and I'm afraid that this will happen in this case :/
BUT - it was better than the other books.
Another thing that turned me off a bit, or rather, a LOT: everybody is leaving out the G's at the end of a ...ING-word!!!! A texan cowboy can talk a bit cowboyish like that, but that was way too much old Texas grandpa! I almost stopped reading when they didn't stop talking that way. It sounds like cheap cowboy porn in my head!
And it was way too mushy for my tastes. The way they talk to each other - all those I love yous. Just the I love yous would be totally ok. But they say I Love You and then it goes on for a whole page, how much and in what way and it's so horribly and ridiculously corny and slimey and not at all romantic or sexy anymore - way too much and too often.
But I still loved the book and the people in it !!!! ☺

This is the 3rd and final book in the Coming Home series, and by far my favourite.
Clayton has been the grumpy brother cowboy throughout the series, and all along I have wanted, no needed to know more.
Caroline is so the opposite to Clayton but boy do those sparks fly between them and there is this amazing insta-lust that sets the air around them on fire
Both Clay and Caroline are a little bit broken, and it is wonderful to see them put each other back together. Clay is all kinds of swoonworthy, and even though I think that horses are the beasts of Satan, I wanted to saddle up for that ride.
There is some mystery playing out through the story, and while I had an idea of whodunnit, I wasn't completely sure until Ms Sloan revealed all.
I love love loved getting more of the couples from the earlier books. Loved the glimpses into their lives.
Cowboy Up is a sweet, sexy, and beautiful story. The insta-emotional connection between our lovelies just made the journey they were on so much better to be on with them.
I really enjoyed the Coming Home series, and can't wait to see what Ms Sloan brings us next.

I knew! I just knew that I’ll fall in love with Clayton’s story! I loved this sexy, emotional and addictive series, but out of the three books this one is definitely my favorite. Clayton, the eldest of the Davis clan, was just so swoon-worthy. Oh man…this hunk of a man was intense, caring, dominating, loving and so sexy.
Harper Sloan has a way of making me fall in love with her characters and she always leaves me starving for more. Clay and Caroline made an enjoyable and amazing couple and their interactions were both adorable and sizzling hot.
Beautifully written, this heartwarming story has everything that I love in a romance novel, the perfect blend of steam, sweet, passion, humor and angst, the kind of chemistry and strong connection between the main characters that makes me swoon, the kind of hopefulness that makes me believe that HEAs do exist, and that the most precious possession that ever comes to a man in this world is a woman's heart.
Cowboy Up was a great read from start to finish and the ending was absolutely gorgeous and it made my heart pound in my chest as I read it. Catching up with the whole gang was fantastic and I just loved the strong bond the Davis have for each other! If like me you are a sucker for a sizzling and full of heart contemporary romance then look no further.

Once again, Harper Sloan takes you on a roller coaster of emotions that is sure to send chills up and down your spine in the final book in The Coming Home Book Series titled COWBOY UP. Sloan will bring out your inner romantic in this beautifully written and exquisite romance that tells the story of the oldest Davis brother, Clayton. He has always been the broody older brother who has no intention of finding love let alone settling down. But as we have come to love Sloan for her breathtaking knee shaking romance novels that fate (or Sloan) has other plans. In this epic romance, you will find an emotional build-up of underlying love that is so strong nothing or anyone can stand in its way. I enjoyed reading every honest and raw emotion that each character experiences throughout this epic love story.
When Clayton took on the role of parents to his younger siblings when his parents didn’t really know how to. He also runs the family business which leaves no time for anymore responsibilities. This means no serious relationships and no settling down, ever! Then fate brings a fireball of a woman that is too hot to handle with a heart made of gold named Caroline into his life. She is a sweetheart with a temper who knows exactly what she needs in order to keep her safe. After one failed relationship, she is set on never going down that road again. When Caroline realizes that the thing she does not want maybe the best thing that ever happened to her. Clayton has a heart of an angel that protects his family and the ones he loves above all else.
I felt a wide range of emotions will reading COWBOY UP. Everything from laughing and crying to goosebumps from excitement. I just could not get enough of this romantic story and found it hard to put down. I was drawn in from the first page with my curiosity always getting the best of me as I read through all the ups, downs, drama, and romance. The characters are well developed with intriguing and relatable pasts. Combine that with a setting that helps to mesh perfectly together creating a remarkable read that is sure to delight.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a lovely romance novel that is perfect for these cold winter nights with a hot cup of tea and a warm fuzzy blanket.

Cowboy Up (Coming Home, #3)
by Harper Sloan
Harper Sloan has created a trilogy that is heart rendering impossible to put down. Clayton the big brother of this trio of dynamic characters is the last to find love. He has sacrificed everything he could to protect his siblings, acting more of a father figure than their alcoholic abusive father ever could. Maverick came back to town, and found the girl of his dreams protected loved and supported by his big brother and sister. Quinn was able to reconnect to her lost love that had been forced by outside factors to leave her. Now it is Clayton’s turn. What he did not expect is who it was that connected all the broken pieces with in him. They just need to overcome their combined Ugly and find the beauty within.

Yes, we get our Clay book. I think this was my most anticipated book in the series. I was not sure how Harper, was going to get our brooding Clay, in the right frame of mind to want a relationship. I loved how thie story was not this long drawn out affair. Clay and Caroline meet and then it is game on from that moment. I thought the author did a fantastic job of connecting the characters ,it never felt forced. I am a fan of a series encompassing all the characters that we have grown to love. Each book lets us get to know the leads, but the supporting casts play a major role in the underlying stories.
Clay, he is just perfection. I know that is a vast statement but he really is. He has been the one who has always been there for his siblings and Leighton. He put everything on hold to keep the family business up and running. He had believed for so long that he does not need love in his life. Until Caroline.
Caroline, aka, Carrie...aka, Linney, believes she is broke. She is shy and just wants to fade into the background for the rest of her life. Divorced and sort of running from her past, leads her back home and unbeknownst to her, into Clay's arms. A chance encounter leads to a beautiful love story.
I loved that aspect of family in the series. You do not have to share blood to be family. Parents that are absent,: parents that have passed away or just a horrible relationship with a parent. The Davis siblings have crated an extend family and the love runs deep. I appreciate that this was told in a way that didn't spend chapter after chapter dwelling on the bad,.
Clay and Caroline just made me smile so much and of course the comic relief of Quinn. Maverick, broke my heart again, but with good reason.. I love this series and hope that maybe there willl be a revist at some point.

The Final book in the Coming Home series brings us an abused woman and an emotional detached Cowboy.
Caroline escaped her abusive ex years prior but going through something traumatic like that leaves it’s scars. She wanted to move home but only comes close enough to the town next over because she doesn’t want anything to do with the mother who refused to help her. She’s got her two best friends and that’s all she needs, until she meets a Mysterious cowboy at a bar.
Clayton Davis is slowly being consumed by the heaviness of responsibility and the loneliness he feels living a life without someone by his side. He’s been badly burned by a previous ex and still struggles with the abandonment of his mother. Clay believes he’ll never let another women in that close again.
Clay and Caroline quickly became my favorite out of this series. This was such a sweet low angst read that had enough action in it to keep it interesting. Leading up to this book, I really thought Clay was going to be the one with the most resistance. Instead he knew Caroline was different and really made this book into why it was my favorite.
I love that Clay gave Caroline all of him. There were no games, just honesty, love and protection. What more could you want from a sexy cowboy? ARC provided by NetGalley.
