Ahhhh! I loved this book. So so sooo great. I was looking forward to this book since I put in a request to review and I couldn’t get enough of it. Great job!

3.5 stars - I absolutely loved the lead characters in this story. Roxie was truly a woman I'd like to be - sassy, smart, brave, strong, and puts up with no BS. She is unapologetically who she is. Grant is a alpha asshole, but has a beautiful heart of gold. He just needs Roxie to bring out the best in him. This was a case of loving the characters, but I just couldn't get into the storyline itself. I found it confusing and it didn't engage me. All I cared about was how these two interacted and their story of finding love - didn't matter to me one bit how they got together, just that they did.

I think I went into this book with the impression it would be a romance with a little suspense on the side - similar to most books. This was so much more. Yes, there's the romance, but I found myself drawn into the criminal case they were working on as their feelings for each other developed. The author did an incredible job of immersing me in this world of criminal defense law and the complications of proving someone innocent with very little to go on. There were lots of details that kept me turning the page and never feeling bogged down with unnecessary information. The beginning of the book I wasn't quite sure how I felt about Roxy's brashness. I'm so glad I kept going because the relationship that naturally develops between her and Grant is incredible. The mention of Grant's brother, Finn, and sister, Kelly, had me wondering if there would be more from this world. Turns out this is the 3rd book - but in no way did I feel like I was missing anything by not reading them in order. I've already searched her backlist and am starting on Kelly's story now.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review.

The book enticed me from the beginning. Being a legal assistant myself I found that I could relate to the legal elements of the story. I found I myself smiling to myself, even laughing but I also felt the hurt that Grant felt in his life. Both he and Roxie had hurtful situations from the past that with the support of each other were able to deal with. I enjoyed the banter between the two characters. They had such a connection, they brought out the best in each other. I believe that is why I felt so drawn to this book, it was believable and grabbed you in. I truly loved the book.

This book had all the things that I love - spunky, sassy heroine, hunky hero, budding attraction, sizzling love scenes, humorous, and a whole lot of mystery!

I absolutely loved that Roxie would not allow anyone to walk all over her and when the women at the beginning tried to tell that she would not work out for the position, she did not take NO and challenged them to see how she would do after one day.

It was great to see her interact with Grant and not take any of his bull, and end up as not just a gofer but as a truly valuable asset in the investigation in Ben's case. There were so many twists and turns in this book that it kept me guessing to the end and I did not figure out who the killer was! I suspected a link that Grant and Roxie were not digging deeper as a key but the motive was not even close to what I was thinking!

It was so hard not to skip ahead and read whodonit, and why Roxie was convicted of killing a horse, and more about Grant's divorcing Tara, and the wait was really worth it! It really was hard to put this book down and I just had to keep reading it! There was just the right amount of humor in the story and yet it is a great mystery.

The epilogue was great and wrapped up Grant and Roxie's story!

Exciting page turner. This romantic mystery has lots of heart and frustration. While I guessed the bad guy early on, there were enough suspects and happenings that made me question my guess. The occasional foul language was a turn off; at least the mother of the toddler was trying to reform. I would like to read more by this author.

A slightly different type of lawyer novel but gave unexpected plot twists in the end. Lots happens in a very short period of time which keeps the readers on their toes.

This is worth more than 5 stars. This is another amazing read from my new favorite author Amabel Daniels. What started out as a simple PA job to the demanding alpha lawyer Grant for Roxie, quickly becomes a test of her determination and moxie. As Roxie shows Grant that she isn't just another bimbo that knows nothing, they start to realize their feelings might not be as cut and dried as they first thought. There are so many developments along the way that they have to work together in order for the truth to come to light. This book was full of light hearted laughs as well as a little bit of mystery and a lot of snarkiness. Thank you NetGalley and Amabel Daniels for allowing me to read this ARC and write a honest review.

Resisting Redemption is a 5 star read! When Roxie is hired as a PA to a demanding lawyer, Grant, she has no idea that the job she originally accepts because of the huge bonus attached to it, will end up changing her life and introducing her to the man that will come to matter more to her than anyone else in the world, save for her daughter, Lucy.

I admit I was a little leery to read, once I read that Grant hated kids. I mean come on, anyone who hates kids can't possibly be redeemed. But, Grant soon proved his worth, as a hero in the story, as a lawyer, and as a partner to sassy, feisty, smart Roxie. And later, as a father to Lucy. The case Roxie and Grant are working on is almost as interesting as the developing romance and that's to be appreciated, as sometimes the romance in romances can overtake everything else, but here in Resisting Redemption, the case is complicated, suspenseful and intriguing. I had absolutely no idea who the real culprit was, so kudos to Amabel for not only a sexy, sweet romance, but also an intriguing, smart mystery.

As for the romance, you won't be disappointed if you're only reading for that aspect. Grant and Roxie have smokin' hot chemistry, aided by a realistic and well-developed professional relationship. It's not a case of insta-love here, they don't even get intimate until about 60% in (in a seriously sexy incident involving the wall of an alley after having been chased down by security), rather, it's a case of genuine feelings of admiration and respect slowly developed on both their parts, combined with the lust that not too soon, morphs into more. Grant bares his soul to Roxie, sheds the layers of grumpy, strict, alpha male and reveals that he's a deeply loving, kind man who had only wanted a family and was maliciously rebuffed by his scheming, cold-hearted ex-wife. Roxie is more of an open book than Grant, but she's to be respected, and Grant does soon come to respect her. She's a single mom, a hard-working, independent, intelligent woman who's just trying to do what's best for her daughter. As they work the case and fall for each other, I was cheering for this wonderful, engaging, entertaining couple!

If you like your romances with large doses of feisty moms, adorable babies, intriguing legal cases, and sexy as hell, swoon-worthy legal eagle men, then Resisting Redemption should be on your TBR list!

I normally don't read modern romance novels; historical romance is more my thing. That being said, I took a chance on this book and I'm so glad I did! The chemistry between the h and H was steamy. The murder mystery was intriguing and I enjoyed reading how both characters contributed to solving the case. I liked the h and how feisty she was. I also sympathized with the past traumas, which were well-written and believable, of both characters. After reading this story, I have started looking into more modern romance novels to read! This is a story I'd definitely recommend.

Resisting Redemption by new to me author Amabel Daniels, is quite a page turner. I am typically not a mystery romance fan, however, the summary truly captured my attention and convinced me to give this book a shot. This story is chock full of suspense, steamy scenes, and two main characters who never thought they could find true love. The epilogue was my favorite part, with a wonderful happily ever after that will remain with me for a long time. If you are in the mood for a well-conceived mystery that includes a hot office romance, a malicious attorney, and intriguing investigative know-how, then pick up a copy of this book.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Resisting Redemption is the best mystery I’ve read in awhile. Yes, there is a romantic element but it wasn’t as exciting to me as the who dunnit was. So many suspects and so many motives. The ugliness of the crime was offset by the sweetness of the budding romance. I really enjoyed this story.

Grant and Roxie... Loved them and this story. While I am a romance novel fein, the legal and crime aspect of this reeled me in. Having worked in the legal field now for 22 years I can honestly say Amabel Daniels done an excellent job creating a criminal suspense story. This was intriguing, suspenseful and very creative legal drama.

Now Roxie and Grant... well you definitely feel each of their pain and struggles and not just want, but need these two to get together. Their banter, chemistry and heartaches make this a fascinating read. Roxie is down on her luck and needs to get her head above water. Falling into a job no one else wants with the enticement of a big bonus if you can stick it out with a complete freak or jerk of a boss Roxie knows she must finish the task not only for herself but for her daughter. She is a strong and independent woman with heartbreak in her past the gives her the backbone to handle Grant.

Grant is portrayed as pushy, grouchy and a complete jerk. Under all of that is a heartbroken man who has had years of manipulation and bitchiness to deal with. Putting these together was a great combination. Loved this story.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.

Roxie goes to work at a law firm as Grant's assistant - no one else has lasted longer than a day yet - and together they defend an old friend of Grant's, Ben, who has been arrested for murder.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. The parts dealing with the court case and the investigations Roxie and Grant carry out were interesting and, at times, amusing. I especially enjoyed the scene where Roxie brings her baby to a work dinner and the one where Roxie and Grant burgle his ex-wife's apartment to retrieve paperwork she has taken from them.

However, the writing was full of strange turns of phrase, unnecessarily elaborate vocabulary choices and plain grammatical errors, and these jarred me constantly during the less dialogue-heavy, more romantic or descriptive passages.

[I also struggled to understand what the basis of Jimmy's blackmail was: surely by telling the truth about the horse, Roxie would have ensured he had absolutely zero chance of getting custody of Lucy... (hide spoiler)]

Enjoyable and fairly original, but I don't think I'd read another by her.
