Amy's book The Quilting Circle has three different stories in it. The story lines are amazing and goes to show that faith is the main teaching lesson in this book.

I'm sorry, but I was unable to review this novel. There was a problem with the file and it did not download correctly to my device. Unfortunately, by the time I realized that, it had been archived. I look forward to reviewing future titles by Amy Lillard, though -- she's a wonderful, entertaining author!

You will likely need tissues as you read these three connected novellas which are centered around an Amish quilting circle. Quilting circles are the hub of Amish women and girls. The women gather together on a regular basis to create quilts.
These three novellas, one following a young girl preparing for her wedding...but are there doubts?
One following a recently widowed childless older lady who finds herself expecting twins! it's the blessing she and her late husband yearned for and now she's alone, or is she? Her husband's friend is always there for her, and is there more ahead for them?

The third novella involves a young wife who is experiencing marital difficulties and she isn't sure how to resolve their issues. Can they find healing?
I was deeply moved by the story of these precious women. They are all lovable and caring and searching. They need the love of their family and friends and their Amish community is the very place they will find the love and acceptance they seek. I think I went through an entire box of tissues for these three novellas. It's all your fault, Amy Lillard. It's okay, though; a good cry is healing.
I am rating this novella collection 5*****stars and highly recommend it to readers.
I received an ebook of this collection from netgalley and Mass Market Paperback in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. I was not required to write a positive review.

More Than a Friendship

Clara has always been friends with Obidiah. Then she is now going to marry someone and Obie is determined she should not marry him but that God has told him he is to marry her. Obie needs to find a way to show her just how much he really does love her. Can he stop this wedding?

More Than a Promise

I so felt for Mariana. She has been married 15 years and no baby but all her friends around her are having children or adopting. Her husband has passed away and she finds she is with child. But not just one God has blessed her with twins. What is she going to do? How can she care for them with no husband no income to support them? Her community is trying to help her some but one person is really doing all he can to help up to the point of proposing marriage to her. What will Mariana do?

More Than a Marriage

Poor Tess she loves her husband very much, but she always feels so alone even when he is home he isn't paying attention to her. Like today with English he is busy on his cell phone. What could he be doing on it all the time. He tells her it is business. She wants a family. But are not getting along to well. He is tired of renting a place to live he wants a place of his own. Both seem to be going in different directions. Tess really has no one she has moved away from her family. Can they find a way back to each other before it is to late?

Amy Lillard writes good Amish fiction, and it's enjoyable even on a re-read. There are three novellas in this book and each one has many of the same characters so that the reader feels a familiarity with the population of Wells Landing and a friendship with all of the ladies of the quilting circle. It is easy to feel empathy for the struggles that the characters endure--from unrequited love to childlessness to unhappiness in marriage. There are times every reader has been in similar positions, but what Amy does is show how the Amish deal with such disappointments.

I've read a couple of the stories before in different collections, so they weren't new to me, but they were like meeting up with old friends. This is a five star collection, with two thumbs up, and a new quilt to keep you warm.

My thanks to Kensington Press for allowing me to read and review this book.

I loved these stories!!! Each was a Little different but great. The first two stories were one POV each....I only say this cause so many stories lately have multiple. I do wish the third was, just to be the same, but I did like the story so Its no big deal just my own craziness.

I really loved that even though it was its own series it mentioned characters and events that happened in the wells landing series. I kinda hope we will get a few more stories...At least one...I need to know whats going on with Eileen and especially the girls!!

The Quilting Circle by Amy Lillard.
This book contains three short stories all set in the same Amish community.
The first story concerns Clara, who is engaged to Thomas and looking forward to marrying him. Her friend Obie starts acting strangely and she is becoming upset by this. She begins to question her friendship and her engagement.
This is a well written story with lovely characters who you believe in and want the best for.

The second story concerns Marianna. Her husband has just died and she has always wanted children. She faces many challenges in widowhood and her friends all rally round to help. Will Marianna ever become a Mum and will she discover that friendship may turn to love?
It was lovely to be back in this Amish community. Not only did you get this story but you caught up with the other characters from the previous book. Such a great thing to keep the continuity going.

The last book is about Tess. She has married Jacob and moved to this community because his parents are nearby. This means however that she is a long way from her family and support network. She looks at other people she has come to know and made friends with and sees how they live and how their relationships are. She begins to question if she has made the right decision.
Again you get not only this story but you catch up with the other characters you have met before.
I would recommend this book and will read more books by this author in the future.

The Quilting Circle is a wonderful three novella . How can I put it into words? These three, each one was incredible. Each one was incredible, each one is intertwined – well not intertwined per se but they do associate with the Quilting Circle which include the prior characters – savvy? One story is about unrequited love who isn't the fiancé but the best friend. Will it be the love that will be returned or scorned by getting married to the fiancé? The second is about keeping a dying wish. Will that wish be into turning true love and if it does will it be trusted or will he just believe he is just keeping the dying promise? The third and final one is about unrequited love in a marriage. He doesn't feel he loves him. He doesn't feel he loves her and they don't communicate . She wants to leave him but friends intervene . Will they work it out ? ? The stories are phenomenal. Worth the read .

I like the fact that the three stories were all about the same community. It's interesting to see how different Amish communities are and learn from novels. The first story, More than Friendship was very predictable. I felt the other two stories had more depth.

"The Quilting Circle" by Amy Lillard was originally released as three individual novellas ("More Than Friendship", "More Than a Promise", and "More Than a Marriage") in e-book format that now makes up "The Quilting Circle" in printed paperback. I am so happy that the publisher decided to put all three novellas in a collection book for paperback-readers to enjoy.

Amy Lillard has written another complete series of her Amish community, Wells Landing, Oklahoma. Here in Wells Landing, we are attending an Amish quilting circle. Being the next thing to the Amish grapevine -gossip-, Amish circle is more than that. It's also sharing of family information, recipes, tips, and advice, all done while quilting. The quilters are composed of widows, a few married women with no children, and young ladies of courting age.

In "More Than Friendship," we meet the youngest quilter Clara Rose Yutzy, who is the only Amish girl in her community to have two best friends that are males, her beau Thomas Lapp and longtime friend Obidiah Brennaman. With Clara Rose's wedding to Thomas just weeks away, everyone -including Obidiah- keep asking her if she is sure Thomas is the right man for her to marry. Do they know something Clara Rose does not?

"More Than a Promise" is more than sure to pull you in as you are reading it. Amy Lillard draws you in within the first few paragraphs. The message is powerful. Loss of life, gaining of life, friends, trust, faith, stress, and love all are topics that we all face in our lives.
Mariana Miller, one of the few quilting ladies that is without children, is about to find out at difficult time in her life that she is with child. Or does God have a surprise for her in that department too? Reuben Weisel, Mariana's late husband’s business partner and best friend, makes frequent visits to Mariana. When their friendship grows and Reuben acts on it, will his secrets be found out? Will Mariana see beyond the betrayal?

"More Than a Marriage" has the main characters questioning their life, their marriage, and their faith. Yes, even the Amish go through these same life questions like we do.
Tess and Jacob Smiley have been married for three years as their story comes to life for us in "More Than a Marriage". They both feel that their marriage is not where it should be. Read how Tess and Jacob reconnect with each other in this short story.

"The Quilting Circle" you will not want to put down! Amy Lillard keeps you one the edge of your seat till the very end with "The Quilting Circle". I loved these story; that once I reached the end, I was looking for more. I look forward to reading more books written by Amy in the future.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley, in return for an honest review. This review is my own words and no money was exchanged.

Amy Lillard has put three of her best stories in one book for all to enjoy. Her characters center around a quilting circle in one Amish community. These circles provide many Amish women the chance to get together and bond. To show support for their fellow neighbors. I love how these stories not only tell one quilters story but also follow the lives of others we have met. Amy Lillard brings a sense of love to this circle. Her characters are real and relatable.
More Than A Friendship tells the story of Clara Yutzy. She is the youngest of the quilters and planning her wedding to the perfect guy or so she thinks. Her long time pal Obie has other ideas. Will he convince Clara that they can have More Than a Friendship? This is a story of trusting ones choice even as we second guess ourselves. And just maybe the correct answer has been standing in front of us all the time.

More Than a Promise is the sad tale of Mariana MIller. She prayed for years for children to bless she and her husband with children. Recently widowed, she feared her dream would never be realized. By the grace of God she finds that she is pregnant to her late husband with twins. When complications arise, she finds herself on bed rest. Never fear the Quilting Circle vows to help and take care of her. However, it is her late husband's business partner, Reuben, who gives her the most help and friendship. Will she come to be able to love and trust again so soon after her husband's death? This story embraces the idea that sometimes we have to just trust that the Lord knows best.

Finally More than a Marriage. Tess and Jacob recently relocated to Wells Landing. Tess loves her husband but feels lonely because he spends more time with his cell phone and work then with her. She longs for the love and teamwork that she sees in her friends marriages. When Jacob decides to sell the one thing Tess finds comfort in, Tess feels like she needs to stand up and be heard. When her decision to move back to her family confuses Jacob, Tess finally asks for help. Will Jacob come to understand that he is about to lose the best thing that has ever happened to him? Or will he let Tess slip away? Sometimes in life our choices lead us on paths we may not have realized we were on.
