My first book of this author and I quite liked it. But I did not love it.

Drew and Becky, the main characters, meet in Manhattan. There is this part where Drew is mad at Becky (after they sleep together) because she let him oversleep and he almost lost an important client. Really?!
The reveil about Becky's past was not that impressive and I did think she should have told him.
Overall I enjoyed the story and will read Laura Carter again.

I requested and received an ARC via Netgalley. This is my honest review.

Well-written romantic comedy

Laura Carter did a great job, with this the first book in the Brits in Manhattan series.
I loved how Becky and Drew met. I liked that their relationship started out as a friendship, with an underlying layer of lust that eventually turns to love. The plot had me turning the pages and I finished the book in one setting. I also found Drew's family and friends interesting secondary characters and I look forward to reading more about them in future books.

I received an Advance Reader copy from NetGalley.

This is book 1 in the Brit’s in Manhattan series and I’m so so excited to see what’s in store for the rest of it.
Laura Carters writing is yet again flawless and the characters and story line was extremely well written.
I really liked Becky as a heroine, she certainly had her demons but didn’t let that define her. She was sassy and witty! I loved her!
Drew and Becky had such a palpable chemistry! It was so nice to read about a couple who worked hard at becoming better people individually as well as completing each other. Together they’re most certainly a force to be reckoned with.
This is by far a read that I highly recommend.

This in my opinion is the best book of hers I've read. I did enjoy reading it a lot and I will post a full comprehensive review on release date.

We meet Drew Harrington, one of the best Attorneys in Manhattan and he knows it. He’s living the life and doesn’t have time for relationships. It’s a shame he can’t get home to visit his family but he’s got to knuckle down to win partner status. His life plan goes astray when he bumps into Becky Fletcher who definitely doesn’t want a relationship. We watch them fumble through making friends and as we get to know more about Becky’s past really hope that things will work out.
I really loved this story by Laura Carter, never read any of her stuff before but definitely will in the future.

This is so much more than a rom com. Its a sweet story with plenty of romance but also covers other deeper issues as well. It was so much fun watching the two main characters, especially the arrogant Drew, fall hard for Becky and show his emotional side. I loved both of these characters and was rooting for them from the get go.

A must read for someone who wants a light read that could be read as a standalone. This book is so well written and I for one will be waiting impatiently for the next one in the trilogy.
