I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I just could not get into this. It was just too strange reading a novel that was a Disney movie.

I love how Sarah Price is able to turn a fairy tale into an Amish rendition. I’ve always enjoyed reading books that center around a marriage of convenience. It’s always fun to see where the author goes with the storyline. When I read Belle, I read it all in one day. Such an amazing Amish romance, that I could not stop reading it. The biggest lesson that is taught in this book is that we should never look upon one another with prejudice. Always look at a persons heart, as that will be what leads one to see who they really are. I highly recommend this book, as it’s a lovely romance as well as a lesson learner, as I call it.

Prepare to be Amazed!

When author Sarah Price decided to do an Amish series based off of Jane Austen’s greatest hits, I was doubtful – it’s Jane Austen after all. But as soon as I read Price’s version of Sense and Sensibility, I was hooked. But then, THEN she got this wild idea to put an Amish twist on some very well known fairy tales, like Beauty and the Beast. When her novel, Belle, released, again I was a skeptic. Call me a skeptic no more – Price succeeds in this retelling – and then some.

Belle Beiler is a conscientious, duty-bound daughter to her widowed father. Her older sisters are clueless and unhelpful. When her dad reveals a shocker, Belle finds herself in an unimaginable situation.

Adam Hershberger – know as a “beast” to the community – is scarred in more ways than one. He has no use for his Amish community…until Belle’s father has no choice but to accept his help. And Belle must make a life changing decision as well.

I was given Belle in exchange for my honest review. I was amazed. I’m not exactly a Disney-phile, but I did enjoy Beauty and the Beast, and thought it would be a difficult tale to turn into an Amish love story. I was wrong. Sarah Price expertly made it her own. I was thoroughly invested in each character and couldn’t flip the pages fast enough. This is a great novel to add to your TBR pile!

This was the first book I had read from this author and I was really excited to see an Amish twist on Beauty and the Beast. While I enjoyed many aspects of the book I did feel there could be a few more facts regarding the Amish lifestyle as well as one or two more 'surprises'. However I did enjoy reading through the novel and although predictable it was exactly what I wanted to be reading at that moment.

I always have enjoyed reading Sarah Price's books. In this one,Belle: An Amish Retelling of Beauty and the Beast (An Amish Fairytale) as the title says it is a retelling of fairy tale Beauty and the Beast complete with the heroine's name being Belle, short for Anabelle . Her tinkering father is always inventing things to try to sell to support his family. After a buggy accident destroys his buggy and kills his horse he hasn't the money to support his family. The last of the family's money was put into trying to invent the perfect money making product but it got destroyed in the buggy accident. With the mortgage being months late on the farm where Belle, her father and 2 sisters live her father has no choice to sell the farm. Now this is where reclusive Adam Hershberger aka The Beast comes in. He is the one who is buying their farm and tells her if she will do something for him that her family will be able to stay at the farm. She agrees to marry him against her better judgement to help her family. He is quite rude and cold to her after the marriage and Belle really wonders what she has gotten herself into. Cleaning the house and preparing dinner she feels more like his hired help than a wife with the lack of respect and no manners or communication that he presents her with. The town's people call the reclusive man Beast behind his back because of his scars and mean temperedness. Is Belle able to break through his icy wall he has erected between them and make their marriage a happy one. I suggest you read this retelling of Beauty and the Beast and find out. I really enjoyed this and look forward to the next fairy tale retelling Sarah Price releases,a retelling of Cinderella.

Belle is Kind of like the mix of Cinderella with the stepmother who watches and favors her daughters over Belle – and Beauty & The Beast – she volunteers to marry the villages man with the scars and not so gentle ways. Why you ask does she do the this ? To save her families farm. How does this save her family's farm you may ask? Well you have to read the book - AnyWho – Belle Marries the beast and she cleans up his disaster of his place and what happens you may ask? Well let me tell you – not – you have to read the book and it is so worth the while to do so.

Bullying in any form does hurt. Words do hurt! Once they are said they can't be taken back. Even the old saying "Actions speak outer than words" is even true. As you read "Belle: An Amish Retelling of Beauty and the Beast" you meet Adam Herschberger whom his community calls a "Beast" but what his community is forgetting is HOW he got his scars. He has faced a lot -from the time he got his scars to the present day based in the book- of heartache, name calling, people whispering behind his back; he felt isolated and alone.

Belle Beiler has taken over running of her family's household since he mother passed years ago. Her father has put them in financial hardship and after a buggy accident puts them even further in debt. Mr. Beiler makes a deal with Adam, but it's Belle's offer to Adam that brings even more positive change to her family. Her offer gets a lot of community criticism.

I even liked "Belle: An Amish Retelling of Beauty and the Beast" better than the movie made by Walt Disney. I personally LOVED Sarah Price's retelling of Beauty And The Beast because it felt "Belle: An Amish Retelling of Beauty and the Beast" come to life as the words flowed off the pages; the pain felt by Adam, strength that each character was forced to find, the cruelty of words spoken, and unconditional love felt.

I look forward to reading more books by Wanda in the future, especially "Ella: An Amish Retelling of Cinderella" coming out in 2018.

I received this book through Net Galley and I was not required to give a positive review.

Belle lived with her father and two sisters on their farm. Belle loves to read romances and dreams of falling in love. Belle’s father was a dreamer and inventor but he wasn’t successful and had used all family money and had to sell their farm. Adam had bought their farm who is a local recluse. Adam is badly scarred by a terrible childhood accident. The people of the community have come to call Adam the Beast and that's basically how he acts. But he has been scarred not only physically but emotionally as well as spiritually. The people's reaction to his physical appearance only makes it worse. So now Adam is scarred, disfigured, and silent. But Belle goes to Adam and asks to become his housekeeper so her family can still stay in the house. Adam instead offers Belle marriage and if she has a son her family can keep their farm. Belle goes into the marriage intending to do all she can to make it work no matter what. Adam’s home was filthy and Belle immediately went to cleaning their home and making good meals for them to eat. Adam has had noone to talk to in years so he is silent when around Belle even though she talked to him. Belle does believe God has called her to marry Adam.
I loved this book. I loved the plot as well as the pace. I also loved that it wasn’t an insta-love relationship instead it slowly built between Belle and Adam. I also loved the way the author used a Beauty and the Beast style when writing this. I also liked how the author showed people can live in a religious community and fall and not act in a Christian charitable way. I choked up at times and chuckled at other times. This was a quick fun great romance read. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

“Just one speck of dust can blind an eye.”

A rather fascinating story that explores the idea of love and marriage, duty and faith.
Belle's father has driven the family finances into dun territory with his investments in continual failed schemes. At last it seems his 'griller' invention might be a way to break through. Alas his bad luck or serious miscalculation continues. The family is left destitute.
Their property is bought by Adam Herschberger, the local recluse who has withdrawn from the Amish society due to people's responses to his scarred face. Many call him The Beast--as Belle notes, hardly the godly action of a faith community.
Belle goes to Adam to see if she can be his housekeeper in exchange for the family being able to continue to live in the house.
Instead Adam offers her marriage.
The story of Belle coming to the belief that God has called her to marry Adam, the many tribulations she must face as she tries all she can to make this marriage work are extraordinary.
A intricate look at relationships and the communities they are part of.
The look into Amish customs adds an extra level of interest.
Bible versus are scattered throughout the story, all having a relevant place consistent with the action, illuminating the moment.
A very special and appealing love story with a difference.

A delightful retelling of a classic story “Beauty and the Beast” and the author does it with an Amish twist.
Sarah Price helps us understand that people are fallen, and being a member of a religious community, does not guarantee that they all live their faith.
Surprises abound as Belle begins her journey to become Adam’s fraa, from her childhood home to her new married abode, and yes we get to see these through her eyes. You will soon be sweeping and cleaning before you can even move in, and then what, delightful, and yet serious at the same time.
From the first to the last page it becomes a quick page-turner, and you will be captured in the retelling of this great tale, and then you will be teased into waiting for the next.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington Books, and was not required to give a positive review.

Belle by Sarah Price, was a wonderful retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
Annabelle “Belle” Beiler, takes care of her father and older sisters on a small farm outside of town. Her father is not the typical Amish man, instead he fancies himself an inventor although he has not been too successful in selling his inventions.
When Belle’s father loses his newest invention along with their horse in buggy in a tragic accident, he is rescued by neighbor, Adam Hershberger. Adam is covered in scars, not too friendly, and lives a very secluded life at the big farm past Belle’s own. Adam is known as The Beast by most members of their quiet little community. Upon Belle’s father’s return, he informs the family that he has sold the farm to Adam due to all his money being tied up in that last invention.
Belle decides to reason with Adam which seems to back fire. She goes into the meeting thinking to offer her services as a maid in exchange for her family having a place to live and ends up accepting a marriage proposal. But Belle is determined to be a good wife, no matter what that means.
Belle does her best to be a good wife and tries to break through the walls that Adam has built.
I recommend his book to anyone who loves Amish or Fairy Tale fiction. It was one of the best retellings I have read in quite some time. I finished the book in one day as I did not want to put it down.
I received this book from the publisher and netgalley in return for my honest opinion.

Belle is an Amish retelling of the classic story of Beauty and the Beast and it lives up to its expectations.

Belle Beiler lives with her dad and two older sisters on their farm in Echo Creek. Her father is a dreamer who loves to invent things from new tools to outdoor grills. When an adventure to a neighboring town goes awry, he must tell his girls that he is broke and soon they will lose their farm. Their neighbor Adam, who is known as The Beast due to a horrific childhood accident, has offered to buy the farm. Belle hates to see her family have to uproot and move so she offers to be Adam's housekeeper on one condition. He must let her family stay in the house. Does The Beast accept this offer or does he have a more permanent solution?

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite stories and I enjoy reading different takes on it. This was a clean read with many great messages. The message that spoke the most to me is towards the end when the bishop talks about "Just one speck of dust can blind an eye." The sermon he gives makes the reader think about their own life and how they treat others.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for an advanced copy in exchange for a review in my own words.

Sarah Price does a great job in retelling classics. Below is a list of her classic retelling works:
1. Second Chances (Jane Austen's Persuasion)
2. Sense and Sensibility (Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility)
3. Mount Hope (Jane Austen's Mansfield Park)
4. Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
5. Ella (Cinderella) - to be released

What has she gotten herself into was the one thing Belle wondered?Belle knew she would not go back on her word but hoped and prayed God would guide her through this time in her life.
Adam is better off alone but when he see something that catches his eye he knows that its only in his dreams. As things start to play he wonders what he has gotten himself into. Can they both survive the mess they just got into or are the better off walking away?
Sarah did not disappoint with this book. While I was afraid this story my be to much like the fairy tale that was no the case she took and put her own twist to the story and did not let the reader down at all. I literally held off reading the last chapter in this book for like 20 minutes because I just did not want it to end. I am so excited for more of this fun series and see where Sarah takes us next. I Loved how you could find yourself crying and laughing in the same page and how the book was a good clean read. I loved how you could get your self so loss in the story and whats going to happen next all of a sudden your at the end only wanting it to never end. You seriously can not go wrong with this light hearted retelling of Beauty and the Beast where healing seems a farm away.

Belle is an Amish retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I had no idea what to expect when I began to read Belle but this book is incredible. It achieves in perfect Amish fashion what Beauty and the Beast achieves. It is about overcoming obstacles for true love, love this is directed by God, to happen. It was brilliant. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
