A great book by a fantastic author. The writing is excellent and the mystery keeps you turning the pages. Characters are well developed. Highly recommend.

As usual, I loved this installment in the series. Writing was tight, location change was grand, and characters memorable.

I had not read any of Canadeo's other book in the series so I did feel like I missed out on the connection between the ladies. I really enjoy Canadeo writing as Elizabeth Spencer - this book was just too cutesy for me..

Anne Canadeo has done it again! She's created an engaging mystery with a delightful posse of knitting sleuths. The regular Black Sheep knitters are in fine form in this latest in the series. Their women's resort weekend is complicated by their innate tendency to get involved in whatever mystery comes their way. A good example of Canadeo's writing talent is her ability to accurately present how addictive knitting - and other forms of needlework - can become! Who but an addict would knit while sunning at the beach? Of course, the Black Sheepers don't let their addiction get in the way of solving the crime, and this adventure should appeal to both knitters and those who've never tried to knit or purl! Fun mystery with a comfortable set of knitters who seem like real life friends. Fast paced, with an atmospheric setting, enough suspects to keep one entertained (although I did guess who it was a couple fo chapters before the end), and not too much knitting for genre lovers who are not interested in knitting. Highly enjoyable.

I enjoyed the characters, the setting, Osprey Shores, ME, and the plot. Since I have only read one or two in this series, it was nice that the women went on a bachelorette fling with Lucy. Seems they were having fun until a murder occurs. The twists and suspects were many. I enjoyed seeing each of the characters have input the resolution and sympathy for Amy, Suzanne’s college friend.
They solve the murder, make great food, and enjoy one another’s company. What more could you ask for in a story?

I love this series. And as a beginning knitter the lessons given are really helpful. There's so much going on but Anne Canadeo weaves everything beautifully.

This is a re release of book one in the series of "NINE: books. As the first book the author does an exemplary job of introducing the location, the characters and her excellent writing style to the reader. In this first in series a ladies weekend away at the Maine coastal retreat turns deadly and our protagonist with her "Black Sheep Knitting Group" are on the case. The sleuth is full of twist and turns with a surprise at the end. The characters are absolutely written to perfection.

This is my first book from Anne Canadeo. I enjoyed the light story, giving me a rest from more heavy ones.
It’s all about a group of ladies, friends and a couple colleagues, who have a passion for knitting.
They head away on a girls pamper weekend before Lucy is to marry and hope to enjoy themselves.
They head to Osprey Island, that is famous for the scenery and cliff walks.
Well soon after arriving a crime happens and lots of town gossiping as to if it was an accident or a murder.
The victim was not a nice person, and when discovered he was murdered, suspects and police questioning happens to many.
The knitting group are close to those involved and cannot help themselves by getting involved and trying to solve the crime.
Well written book and I will definitely read another when it crosses my path.

Knit to Kill by Anne Canadeo is the first book in A Black Sheep & Co. Mystery series (continuation of Black Sheep Knitting Mysteries). The ladies are off to enjoy four days on Osprey Island, Maine before Lucy Binger gets married. Suzanne Cavanaugh’s friend Amy has loaned them a cottage and they are looking forward to a relaxing few days. The first night, Maggie has agreed to teach a knitting class to Amy’s knitting group. They witness an argument between Dr. Julian Morton and Derek Pullman. The next morning during yoga class, they hear sirens. They find out that Dr. Morton was found dead on the rocks below the cliffs. Evidence suggests that Julian was pushed to his death. When Amy’s husband becomes Detective Dunbar’s prime suspect, the ladies discover that Julian had many enemies. Can they untangle the clues and nab the killer before the end of their weekend?

Knit to Kill is technically the ninth book in the series. I recommend reading the other books in the series prior to attempting Knit to Kill. The full backstory (not even last names) of the main characters is not provided in Knit to Kill. I found the majority of the book devoted to drinking, eating, walking, biking, knitting, talking, more eating, spa treatments, and swimming. The mystery was a small portion of the story and it was unchallenging. My rating for Knit to Kill is 3 out of 5 stars. The killer’s identity can be discerned before Dr. Morton’s body is discovered below the cliffs. With a lack of action, I found that the story dragged. I wish there had more investigation and less speculation (and rehashing). There is a recipe for French toast (mentioned in the book) at the end of the book along with a shawl pattern. Knit to Kill is a light, breezy cozy mystery that will appeal to many readers.

Knit to Kill by Anne Canadeo is part of the Black Sheep & Co. Mystery series. There are other books in the series, but this is the first one I have read. I was not at all lost. The characters were introduced well. While knitting plays a big part in the book, it is not the main focus. A group of knitters heads to a resort for one last fling before one of them is married. The weekend gets off to a rough start when they witness a nasty argument. One of the men involved is murdered the next morning. The women's hostess and her husband are in the middle of the investigation. The knitters decide to help solve the mystery. The friendship aspect of the book was wonderful. The mystery had some twists and kept me interested until the end.

I liked this first book in the Black Sheep & Co. mystery series. It's not only a good cozy but has lots of information of choosing yarns and links to patterns. Lucy is planning her wedding and her knitting group is planning a getaway weekend to celebrate her last week as a single lady. Maggie is closing the knit shop and they are all heading to Osprey Island to enjoy the beach and relax. When a local is murdered they get involved in the investigation. Great read and looking forward to many more entries for this new cozy series.

It has been forever since I have read any of the Black Sheep Knitting mysteries. This is book 9 (Book 1 with the new publisher) and I found the characters familiar enough that I picked right up with what was going one. Murders and mystery seem to follow the knitters wherever they go and this book is no exception as they journey to an exclusive New England resort for a girl's weekend away before Lucy gets married. ("Girls" is a bit offensive since the knitters all seem to be grown women.) A murder occurs shortly after they arrive and they must get involved since the police are missing all kinds of good clues.
An enjoyable cozy with which to pass an evening or two but not as well written or inventive as several other knitting cozys.

Book 1 with a new publisher but actually book NINE in the series.

Characters in this series are well established and developed. The Black Sheep knitters leave their usual stomping grounds on a "Girl's Trip" before Lucy's upcoming wedding. Thanks to Suzanne's friend they're staying in an exclusive island development. But relationships in the neighborhood aren't all exactly rosy, so when an unpleasant neighbor is found dead on the beach, suspects are plentiful.

This was a fast, fun, read. I spent an enjoyable afternoon the knitters, as I like them all and I am so glad that Kensington picked the series up. I did figure out who the killer was pretty early on. One thing I would like to see is the author focus a bit more on other characters besides Lucy. She dominates the story, but I really like Maggie and would love to see more of her again.

All in all a fun read and lovely to see the ladies again.

I loved Knit to Kill! This book is well written with a fast paced plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the setting. I have not read other books in this series but see myself reading them in the near future. I recommend this to readers who enjoy a good mystery.

The Black Sheep Knitting Club takes a holiday in Maine, one last fling with the gal pals before Lucy Binger gets married. Knitting expert Maggie is providing a series of classes for her old friend Amy's knitting group, and Amy gratefully invites the whole gang to stay in the upscale gated community on the shore.

But almost as soon as they arrive, tensions and gossip intrude on their weekend getaway. Not to mention murder.

There are plenty of lush descriptions of the scenery, the decor, the spa treatments, the clothes, and the delicious meals and drinks -- enough to make the book an indulgent escape. A recipe is included, as well as a link to a free knitting pattern.

The mystery is well plotted, though. It's a good puzzle and the author plays fair with the clues.The characters are likeable and three dimensional, not stock characters dressed up with quirky details. They knit, but that's not all they do. If the average cozy is too goofy for you, this series is one to try.

This is definitely chick lit, but the women are smart, compassionate, and thoughtful. They care about shoes and cocktails, but you'll still respect them in the morning.

The Black Sheep Knitting Shop is where people go to learn new skills, enhance old skills, make friends, meet friends, and just visit and knit (or crochet). It's really like every Local Yarn Store, except these friends have a habit of falling over dead bodies and solving the crimes. Lucy is getting married and her friends decide they need to take her on bachelorette weekend at a friend's B&B in the resort community of Osprey Shores.

Their first morning at the resort a body is found (I know, cliché but it's a mystery so there must be a dead person) and the women put their sleuthing skills to work on solving the murder. There are a plethora of suspects and twists and turns, which makes the mystery more fun to read. I thoroughly enjoyed trying to figure of the murderer before it becomes obvious. I will admit to being sure I knew who it was several times.

Knit to Kill by Anne Canadeo is a really good cozy. The characters are well defined and likeable. This is part of a series of books by this author that take place at Black Sheep Knitting Shop, but it is not necessary to read them all to enjoy one. The author takes the first chapter to set up the premise and introduce the characters, so the reader is never left to try to figure out who's who.

I love cozy mysteries and Anne Canadeo is one of the authors I follow. Not only does she write good books, she also throws in a knitting pattern and a recipe.

Lucy and her friends from the Black Sheep Knitting Shop set out for her pre-wedding "last fling" at Osprey Shores on Osprey Island off the coast of Maine for four days of great food and drink, sunshine, swimming, knitting, and ticking things off Lucy's "bucket list" of things she should do before she gets married. Lucy doesn't really have such a list and just wants to ride her bike along the beach, read a book, spend time with her friends, and maybe avail herself of the services at the luxury spa at Osprey Shores. She certainly doesn't have solving a murder in mind.

Knit to Kill is the 9th book in Anne Canadeo's Black Sheep Knitting Shop Mystery series and features the regulars from the shop including owner Maggie, newly promoted assistant manger Phoebe, and regular customers Lucy, Suzanne and Dana. They travel from Plum Harbor, Massachusetts to Maine for a getaway weekend expecting to celebrate Lucy and her upcoming wedding. Maggie will also be teaching a knitting workshop for the locals of Osprey Shores. If the series were set in the South rather than New England, it would be said of the man whose murder puts a kink in the ladies' plans that "the boy needed killin'." No one seems sorry the victim is dead and everyone seems to have a motive for wanting him so. Trying to discover the identity of the murderer certainly makes for a unique "last fling" for Lucy!

This is a well-written, well-paced cozy mystery. There are enough suspects to keep the reader interested and guessing without there just being a cast of thousands for the sake of misdirection, and, as always, a knitting pattern and recipe are included. Fans of Anne Canadeo and those new to her Black Sheep Knitting Shop family will enjoy this book.

A fun girls weekend prior to a wedding provides a charming locale for a murder mystery. The ladies can not completely ignore the murder while trying to continue to concentrate on having fun together. Nice mix of characters.
