Great book
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Another great book by Sarah Title in her Librarians in Love series. All books in this series are well worth reading.

I have voluntarily posted a review consisting of my honest opinions

Becky Schrader has always felt like she's not good enough to be a member of her family with siblings and parents that have achieved so much while she's working for a law firm using her degree to research everything and anything to help the firm win cases. However, over the years she's gotten over her hang-ups and has done everything she can to succeed. Yet, there's something missing from her life -- love and happiness -- and she's on a mission to find her Mr. Right. But that doesn't mean she can't have a little fun along the way when she meets Foster Deacon. Will Foster be her dream man, or will she walk away from a chance at happy ever after?

This book didn't capture my attention right from the beginning like the previous books did, but once Becky and Foster discover that they work at the same law firm things get very interesting. Will Becky be able to ignore the intense chemistry she has with Foster because her job is important and she doesn't want to lose it? Will she give Foster a chance and hope she doesn't end up losing her job?

With the dialogue, I loved Becky's good friend who encourages her to let her hair down and find a hot guy to do whatever she wants with before she decides to get serious about finding her Mr. Right. Is Foster just what the doctor ordered? Will he be able to help her get over her hang-ups? Will she ever feel like she's good enough to be part of her family instead of the odd one out? Moreover, Becky is resilient, brave and I liked that she took a chance on Foster, even knowing that things might backfire and she could find herself out of a job if she's not careful. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was her strength when it came to meeting Foster's family and dealing with her own as they make her feel like she doesn't exist.

While the hero, I could understand why he's made the decision to work for a rival law firm to his father's because the man is a controlling jerk that always does whatever he can to help his client win their case, no matter who he has to steamroll to win. I also liked how confident the hero was and how determined he was to win the heroine over, as he knows she's the right woman for him and he's not about to let her go. Will his family interfere in their relationship and send Becky running? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was how driven he was to win his case by using any resources he can.

Overall, Ms. Title has delivered another really good read for this series where the chemistry between this couple is strong and just keeps getting stronger the more the heroine does her best to resist their attraction after their one-night stand; the romance was delightful and had me hoping that the hero would win the heroine over because they're good together; and the ending had me liking the lengths the hero goes to in order to win Becky back after their relationship goes awry. Besides, it was a fun way for her, as she realizes there's possibilities beyond working for the law firm for her. Will she consider exploring something else she's good at that everyone seems to be giving her compliments about? I would recommend Laws of Attraction by Sarah Title, if you enjoy workplace romances or books by authors Virginia Taylor, Susan Fox, Rachel Gibson and Jenny Colgan.

This is the third book in the series but can be read without reading the other books. When Becky and Foster have a one night stand she is never expecting to see him again so when turns out to be the new lawyer where she works he is horrified while he is over the moon he wants more than the one night and will do anything to convince her they can be more.I really liked this one and will definitely be checking out the other books in the series

Laws of Attraction is a quick and entertaining read about a Law Librarian and her one-night stand who becomes her newest colleague. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: the terrible cover, and the fact that Becky can be a little overdramatic at times. Overall, I really enjoyed the story, and found Deke to be a little dreamy. I great book to curl up and read with a cup of tea on a chilly evening.

This was a cute story, but it was a little hard for me to get in to. I did enjoy the characters, although I felt that they were a little flat and stereotypical at times. The romance was good, there were plenty of little plot twists to keep you going once you got in to the story. Overall, a good read that will make you smile.

I regret to say that I was unable to read this book. I incorrectly thought it was of a different genre when I requested it. I did begin reading it and didn't get beyond the second page.

The third book in the Librarians in Love is, in my opinion, the strongest. Becky is a law librarian, trying to get overa breakup when she meets "Deke", who is really Foster Deacon, the newest hotshot lawyer at her law firm. There was a hint of it being a forbidden relationship, but it wasn't overly angsty. Starr, the foster dog, stole the show. Overall, a very fun read and great conclusion to the series!

This was a fun book. Anything with romance and dogs has to be great right? Title just knows how to bring these two things together into amazing tales.

Laws of Attraction, the third entry in Sarah Title’s Librarians in Love series, is a delightfully frothy concoction of a romantic comedy that often had me smiling and, once or twice, laughing out loud. Mild-mannered legal librarian Becky Schrader is fed up with falling for the wrong guy; she supposes it’s her own fault for constantly looking for Mr. Dream-Guy-picket-fence-and-a-dog, and her best friend is trying to convince her to let her hair down once in a while and have some fun with Mr. let-me-keep-you-up-all-night-screaming-my-name instead. Becky isn’t averse to the odd bout of anonymous hot monkey sex, but deep down she really does want a normal life, the picket fence and the great guy.

On a night out with her friend Dakota, Becky is about to leave to make her way home when a new arrival catches her eye and changes her mind. Dressed casually in a flannel shirt and jeans and sporting sexy face-scruff … forget the hot monkey, she’s picked herself out a hot lumberjack for the night. There’s an instant zing of heat between her and the guy she hears addressed as ‘Deke’, and before long, they’re on the way back to his place. The sex is every bit as toe-curlingly hot as she could have wanted, and Becky sneaks out of Mr. Lumberjack’s surprisingly chic apartment the next morning with head held high – mission accomplished – fully expecting never to see him again.

Becky obviously hasn’t read enough romance novels, because naturally, her scruffy, sexy lumberjack walks into the offices of the law firm where she works a couple of days later. Clean-shaven, designer-suited (and still sexy) he turns out to be none other than hotshot lawyer Foster Deacon, who has left his high-flying job in New York and returned home to Denver in order to prosecute a big intellectual property case. While Foster is pleased to see Becky and has hopes of picking up where they left off, Becky is little short of horrified. Foster is cute, funny and great in bed, but he’s a legal genius – and she’s sworn off lawyers and she’s doubly sworn off geniuses (genii?). Plus she’s not looking for another relationship; he was supposed to be a one-night-stand, not a potential Mr. Picket-Fence.

Okay, so being a little wary of jumping into a new relationship is understandable, but the romantic conflict in the story pretty much stems from Becky’s stance that she doesn’t want to date a lawyer, and the way she keeps avoiding Foster for basically no reason just makes her seem a bit silly and immature. There are a couple of work-related emails that piss her off for no discernible reason and after that she decides he’s an arrogant pig – which makes no sense and is obviously just an attempt to inject some tension into a story that has quite a bit going on and doesn’t really need it.

Fortunately, however, by this time, Ms. Title had set up both characters as decent, likeable individuals and thrown in plenty of humour and some interesting situations and secondary characters, so that although Becky’s attitude bugged me, I was sufficiently engaged by the story and the deftness and confidence of the writing that I was content to set those concerns aside and watch everything unfold.

While the developing romance between Becky and Foster is the focus of the book, there’s a secondary plotline featuring Foster’s sixteen year-old, tearaway sister, who has been in trouble with the law and is doing her community service sentence by helping out at the animal shelter run by Becky’s friend, Dakota. Part of Foster’s reason for coming back to Denver was to spend more time with Madison and maybe help keep her out of trouble, but she’s having a difficult time, especially as their parents have no idea how to approach her or talk to her. Or each other, really. Foster’s relationship with her is nicely done; he’s a caring big brother, and she obviously adores him, but neither of them are close to their workaholic father and self-absorbed mother.

Foster’s family issues, however, seem almost insignificant next to Becky’s. Her parents and her two sisters are scientists – real scientists, that is, who don’t view library science as proper science – one sister has just won a prestigious award, the other is on the International Space Station… it’s easy to understand Becky’s reluctance to become involved with a genius of any description! It also accounts for her desire for a normal life with a nice house, a dog, and a nongenius lumberjack. For her family, a nice Sunday night meal is a misnomer – why waste time cooking when they can eat something out of a box and get back to work? Birthdays? Um… when are they? Christmas? A nuisance because all the labs are shut, but at least it means they can catch up on their professional reading. They’re a bit over the top maybe, but I liked the way these tunnel-visioned individuals contrasted with Becky who is warm, witty and surprisingly well-adjusted.

Ultimately, however, Ms. Title doesn’t get too hung-up on the hang-ups and oh – I should mention the cute rescue dog for the dog-lovers out there; I’m more of a cat person, but I know there are many readers for whom a hot guy and a ball-of-fluff-mutt are a winning combination.

Laws of Attraction is a fast-paced, funny and light-hearted read featuring a likeable, well-matched central couple, witty dialogue and a nice bit of steam on the side. I haven’t read the other books in the series, so it works perfectly well as a standalone; and while it’s not something that’s going to stick with me, it was a lot of fun and might be just the thing if you’re looking for a pick-me-up on a grey Autumn afternoon.

Grade: B / 4 stars

This one is a funny sexy low story between librarian Becky and lawyer Deacon. The plot of the story and how those two meet is so funny. I loved when is so much comedy involved in a book. But the book also has real-life struggle such as family drama and of course broken heart. Becky is such a cute smart cookie with a funny friend it is hard not to like her. Deacon, on the other hand, is likable but like his sister has pointed out was too much his father and I liked that he change that at the end of the story. I liked that he opened his eyes and went in to fight for Becky. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Laws of Attraction by Sarah Title could also be called first impression go wrong, no, make that right. This is exactly how the story starts out with law librarian Becky Schrader. She has some hang-ups that were tied to growing up and her family’s treatment. Lumberjack, no make that lawyer, Foster Deacon is easy to like. It’s impossible not to love a big guy who falls for a little ole dog. He has family issues too.

Fast paced plot, witty dialogue, a reluctant female and a determined male, and romance make this an entertaining read. The dog adds to the story, but found the families to be a bit on the tedious side.

Foster “Deke” Deacon and Becky meet in a bar shortly after Becky’s latest break-up and share an unforgettable night. Becky sneaks out the next morning and Deke is left with nothing but Becky’s first name and the amazing memories she gave him. But Becky wanted nothing more than a night to forget and hopefully reset herself so she stops choosing the wrong kind of guys – professional men who are still living their frat boy glory days. Color her shocked when she meets the new attorney at work and finds out that “Deke” is really hotshot attorney, Foster Deacon.

The advance copy I read of this book was my first by this author and I loved it! Set in a big city, it had a quirky, charming, small-town town feel, with a fun storyline and delightfully colorful characters. I loved all the characters, but especially Foster’s younger sister, Maddie, who was pure teenager – both loveable and infuriating by turns and still so endearing. Then there were the dogs, who may have just been the absolute best characters of all!

Becky was an interesting character, having made something of her life and career that she could be proud of, even if it fell below her family’s unrealistic expectations. Of course, she and Foster were a great deal of fun to watch as they navigated their relationship. Foster was a really good guy at heart in spite of his genius brain and stuffy attorney surface. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was the rationalizing the big, tough lawyer did about the dog he “temporarily “ fostered. No dogs on the couch, but technically, the dog was on his sister (And, swoon! He’s a great big brother!). Then the tiny dog settled on a pillow which, technically was still not on the couch. 😉 Don’t get me started on the clothing and other accessories he purchased for the pup.

This book was delightfully fun, enchanting, entertaining, and laugh-out-loud funny, and you’ll really be missing out if you don’t 1-click it. Go on. You know you want to. 😆

I’ve read all of the books in Sarah Title’s Librarians in Love series, and this one is definitely my favorite.

The publisher’s description of the story is a little misleading. At the beginning of the book, Becky’s best friend encourages her to pick up a guy for a one-night stand precisely because Becky has been so focused on achieving a normal life (husband, family, dog, home with a white picket fence) that she keeps settling for the wrong guys. Becky plans to hook up with a completely different kind of a man for a total reset of her life. Unfortunately, the “lumberjack” she picks up at the bar turns out to be the new hotshot lawyer at the firm where she works as a librarian. Meanwhile, Foster isn’t really looking to settle down in Denver—he’s just there to win the kind of case that will allow him to make partner while burnishing his reputation as an expert in intellectual property law. He’s basically an ultra-competitive workaholic whose job is his life. And while Becky might tempt Foster to juggle his priorities a bit, Becky want nothing to do with him, since he fits the mold of the kind of guys she’s always dated.

Title throws in some complications in the form of Foster’s and Becky’s families that add interest to what would otherwise be a relatively simple story. Becky grew up the ordinary one in a family of geniuses, so she’s got some major baggage she’s carrying around because she felt like she never measured up. Foster’s parents also had high expectations for their children, and his younger sister Maddie is rebelling by engaging in behavior that could have serious consequences.

Part of the reason I enjoyed this book so much is probably that it features a librarian who is involved with animal causes, and . . . I am a librarian who is involved in animal causes. (It even talks about fostering pets, which I’ve done.) So, yeah. Beyond that, though, the book is written with a lot of humor, and it had some very funny moments that made me laugh out loud. I liked both Becky and Foster, but I also really liked the secondary characters of Maddie and Becky’s best friend, Dakota. The only criticism I can come up with is that I thought the resolution of the issues keeping Becky and Foster apart happened a little too quickly and easily. It’s hard to argue with a happy ending, though, particularly if it also involves foster dogs finding their forever homes.

If you’ve read and enjoyed the rest of this series, you should read this one, too. Readers who like light, funny contemporary romances should also give it a try.

An eARC of this novel was provided by the publisher through NetGalley for review; all opinions expressed are my own.

when law librarian becky schrader sets eyes on foster deacon she thinks he's the perfect person to break her streak of jerks who are bad in bed. no more lawyers or stuck up suits who look the part but never come through on marriage and the white picket fence and the 2.5 kids. he's a sexy lumberjack who clearly wants her and fulfills every promise of a good time.

foster isn't looking for a relationship, but his one night with becky was unexpectedly hot. and he's disappointed when he realizes that she really meant it when she said it was a one and done type deal. when it turns out that he's the new lawyer starting up at the firm becky works at, she's mortified. he's thrilled to have a second shot. he'll need more than one to win her over.

laws of attraction puts foster through his paces. he needs to work hard to convince becky to take a chance on him. she's been hurt enough, not just by romantic partners but by her own family, and the last thing she needs is a guy who won't put her first. she's already been made to feel small and unimportant, so the worst thing foster can do is seemingly not consider her feelings or opinions when things get tough.

the last entry in the librarians in love series is a sweet yet sexy love story. foster and becky have tons of chemistry, and they find themselves fighting as much as they find themselves loving each other. also if you like pets, this story definitely appeals to animal lovers.

This was a fun, flirty read that left me smiling and just plain happy. I loved Becky and Foster. Their sassy banter back and forth had me laughing out loud.and their chemistry came to life on the pages.

Wouldn't you know the one time in her life that Becky Schrader lets loose and has a little naughty fun she would hook up with a new associate at the law firm she works at. Luckily being the firm's librarian will limit their interactions. Hopefully. Not if Fostor Deacon has anything to say about it!!

Definitely a book I think everyone would enjoy. I highly recommend it.

I LOVED this book soooooooooooo much. Both characters were wonderful, and this was a very heartwarming romance with lots of family and friends involved in the story. Becky is a law librarian who meets Foster at a bar and they have a one night stand.

Foster is in town to help out his sister who is in trouble and to take over a law case he was hired for. Well Becky does not know it but her life and Foster become hugely intertwined. How? Well I don't want to ruin that surprise. But I could not wait for the big reveals when they run into the other.

This was a well written, romantic and fun book and I fell hard for all the characters. I truly enjoyed the story as well as the writing.

Laws of Attraction, by Sarah Title is a pleasant fast-paced contemporary romance.

Becky Schrader is a law librarian in a family of super-overachievers. After her history of dating mishaps, she decides to find a new guy for a one-night stand, and Foster Deacon is her ideal man for the night. However, Foster shows up the next day at her job as the newest associate lawyer.

Foster temporarily moved back to his hometown, and he's pleased to have made an instant connection with Becky. Yet she disappears before he wakes up the next day...and shows up at his new job. Foster and Becky struggle with their new relationship, due to family drama, work issues, and additional concerns.

Even though it's the third book in Librarians in Love series, it still reads as a stand-alone story.

Laws of Attraction is geared towards those who enjoy reading modern romances.

This book started with a woman in a bar searching for a one-night stand. I did not think this was the book for me. I am so glad I kept reading. The family relationships are strange, but sadly realistic. The dogs are wonderful. The romance was inevitable, but charming.
